- This makeover is a goodie!! I make a batch of one step paint, sand the wood veneer top back to natural and change the hardware to match my moldboard inspiration for my big bedroom makeover! Super fun

triple thick varathane WATERBASED polyurethane
Zinnser 123 white water based primer
Calcium carbonate

Sandpaper 80 grit, 100 grit, 220 grit
bronze hardware
I may Ise wax on It but my one step paint recipe doesn’ absolutely need a topcoat

A lot of men are color blind or can’t see all colors but it definitely is gray blue or more blue. I love it

I love learning from you. I also love love love that your daughter is learning too. Please be careful with her little lungs, etc. Your lungs too. I actually got chemical burns in my throat and lungs from some of the chemicals I use. I now protect myself at all cost. Please forgive me me if I overstep. I really don't want anyone to go through what I did.

Love the recipe! Polyurethane does dry harder, more like an enamel, however it will cause your whites/lights to yellow over time. Polyurethane is an oil based product, and really helps with self-leveling as well, but the oils will cause that yellowing or “aging”. I would recommend using it for your darker pieces and the Polyacrylic for lighter ones. I’m definitely going to try your recipe 💖
The polyurethane I use in my recipe is water based though so I don’t think it yellows like the oil based version. Hope you like the finish it give you and thanks for taking time to comment ❤️

I was really lucky that my parents didn’t have much money for toys. Instead I played with my dad’s tools since very young. (I thought dolls were stupid and useless anyway!). Result is that I’ve saved thousands of $$$ over the years as I mastered more and more and became a carpenter, of sorts. You are giving your daughter a good education and her little hands can do a lot. More fun than silly toys.
So sweet watching your daughter help paint.

It is so beautiful! The color has a lot of blue to me, even some green for almost a aqua grey. Keeping the top and the scroll at the bottom natural was the right call for sure. Good job.

I have learned so much from you. I just finished a couple of tables. A 48" round dining table, with 24" leaf, repaired top and legs, painted with Behr's cabinet paint "starless night' a very, very dark navy blue and finished with a matte poly. A smaller side table, also round with a 36" top. Painted in the same color & matte poly. Then sprayed a mandala stencil on the top with a clear gloss polyurethane for a damask look. The reverse might also be interesting i.e. body painted with satin finish and stencil with a matte poly. Love them both, Thank you for your great videos and Inspiration. I'm now a huge fan of several light coats and sponge rollers.💖👍

That is exactly my set my son has temporarily, there was a headboard w/ cane, I didn’t get that, but I got the triple dresser & high boy, & night stand when I was in my teens, I’m in my late 60’s now & it still looks good, Basset I think

Funny I just painted my antique sideboard in steely gray today and striped the top and bleached it . We are turning it into a bathroom vanity . And I just love this color because it’s more of a gray blue than anything .
Definitely a gray blue. But my DH would probably throw in a third candidate and say it was blue-green! Anyway, I love it!

Fabulous. So pretty. Looks like more blue to me. But fusions sacred sage causes arguments in this house. I say it's green and my two kids say it's definitely grey and we all look at each other like the other one is raving mad!! And it changes depending on the light too. I love it.

I just bought that same exact dresser and did the same exact color paint and natural wood top. Except I added dark wax to the edges which came out amazing! It sold Immediately on FBM. It’s like looking at the same dresser I sold. 😍
