I remember when it was pushed during the cervesa bug by so many youtubers. I always thought it was a stupid product

This seems like the worst period.
Even the market are now very unpredictable. Started investing recently when the market prices were a bit high,today I am more than 60% down!
Even with the right technique this days some investors will still make more than others.
With the guidance of Trev tait mozingo I learnt nothing beats experience in the market....
Most of the Expêrts on YT and IG copy trade him that's how they make enormous profits from seemingly unknown market.....

I'm a new investor, only been investing for a little over a year, and I have to say I'm very tempted to just stop investing in individual stocks and just keep DCAing into the S&P 500. Less hassle, emotional traumas, and likely more free time to dedicate to other stuff. Appreciate Sasha's no-BS advice and transparency

Thank you again for the great advice. I'm working on a conservative strategy to beat the S&P 500 index by using the 503 S&P stocks individually. Now that we can invest with little or no trading fees and also buy fractional shares, I will only buy those stocks when they are priced low and sell only when high.

You should have used a Robo-investing platform or traded with Trev tait mozingo or any other regulated expert. As a complete beginner myself,I have made over $30k in less than 5 months with him...

Sadly,if you are down that much you didn't do research Being down a few percent right now is fine due to the market,60% is crazy !
Watch different vids before investing in any other thing,go for low risk index funds or better still,try out Trev tait mozingo he is good. I can people have suggested already..

Really enjoy your channel, just wondering if you'll tackle the effects of geo-strategic developments on stocks? Eg how de-globalization and the resurgence of heavy industry in the USA will affect things in general. No worries if this isn't within your interest area
DCA into a balanced portfolio or world indices is the boring way to make money, more fun to lose money betting on shitcoin, meme stocks and watching endless videos on them whilst slowly losing your mind.

I like your channel and listen to an investment program on Danish national radio, because I find the subject interesting. But Since I started investing more than 10 years ago, I've only invested in index funds, as I also know I would worry too much if I picked the wrong stocks. So I've invested equally in 6 different index funds, global, local, European, growth, sustainability and small cap to get a diverse portfolio of index funds.
I had a share dealing account with Lloyds several years ago and held stock in RSM, that becomes RSM Tenon. At first all was good, then the price started to drop, I purchased more and more as the price dipped lower and lower thinking it must go up soon.
I had nothing that indicated it would go up, it was just hope… in the end I got out after losing £2,500 of my hard earned money, others stayed in and lost a whole lot more… That was a very painful lesson.
Over expensive coat hangers 🤣 Sasha could do stand up for sure. The content is excellent which is completely complimented by the razor sharp wit. Unmissable RUclips channel.

I agree. I will buy stocks cheap even though there is a very real risk that the same stock will become dirt cheap… I bought Tesla at 200 because it was cheap even though I knew it would probably go lower and become dirt cheap!
Brilliant content Sasha. What you say is so true. I think I've made every mistake that you mention in the last few years. My New Year resolution was only to DCA into Index funds, but here we are in Feb abd I've already added 3 new stocks to my portfolio this year....d'oh"! 😣

You are right when you say it's difficult to follow these simple tips. Because everything is based on assessing when something is expensive or when it is cheap. For example, if someone invests in an index fund, when should they sell it?

Great ! +No.8- Risk Vs Return, which is why, after years, & BScSoc(Banking), I don't invest in stocks any more....
10% return for 100% risk ( no 1 is too big to fail). I prefer 1-10,000% return for 100% risk= Cryptos !!!

Great Advice Sasha - on the "going to the moon meme" I often think about Bernie Madoff. All he "promised" was 1-2% +/- per month and people were ecstatic to have such a cash cow. 12% per year is a fantastic return. So much so, that few smart people knew it was too good to be true. I dont have the time to look at the fundamentals of every company I think might be a good investment. So, being the savy investor that I am, I try to gobble up as many shares of the S&P etf I can. I wont get wealthy doing this, but thats not my aim. Had I started when I was 16....well, that would be a completely different story. So, im starting for my kids.
So what's your target price for tesla?
I work as a criminal lawyer within the MOJ for about 20 years I also work part-time in the evenings 20 hours a week at Royal mail throughout those 20 years too. That was my side hustle. I bought my house in NW London cash in my late 30s and I have another rental property. So I understand working hard is the real formula for making money. This however, has allowed me to buy individual stocks and take educated risks.
I sold Palantir at a loss too. First time I've said it out loud. That was almost therapeutic.

Last point is very true. Best way to make more money on the stock market is to earn more and invest it.
One of the things I try to remember is that the people with the most money invested are old... so are trying to protect wealth rather than grow capital, if you're buying and selling based on market movements you're investing like someone nearing retirement but with the defensive half the strategy missing.
Good advice im mid 50's & my individual stocks are kind of a gambling hobby! An example Ive seen negative news headlines about Googles AI, when the market opens if theyre down Ill sell my tesla I bought at 115 and buy them just on bad news (Im pretty sure their AI will be perfect in the future) PS I didnt even read the story just headline!
Bought more Amazon and Alphabet today!

I just like heavily beaten down stocks. The Uk market is full of them the USA always looks way to expensive. I also don’t believe in growth stocks because they never seem to live up to their hype and crash back down to reality. At least a very beaten stock is usually a take over target worst case unless it’s bankrupt. The Uk market is full of undervalued stocks

Instead of watching RUclips videos about investing, go find a way to make a small side hustle and put an extra $50 a month into investing. The effect will be far bigger than improving your investing returns from 10% to 20% per year in the example.

You got it the wrong way around! You really should watch some more RUclips videos on how to buy at the top and sell in panic at the bottom!
