    The way I get on is the "place your skateboard on the ground and get on." It's really easy.

      Rules:
      Do more tricks than the other to win. If you do less, you get a 1, then U for the second round you get one, then P, if you do less on the third. Each round has 1 minute and you can do whatevah ya want!

    I clicked on this hoping it could apply for getting on a longboard too. However, all those finger tricks made me feel a bit jealous, since my board is so huge and heavy that it does not seem convenient at all :D

    Great video man, very useful for my cousin who is learning to skate, and thank you for that mall grab comment. I've been skating for years and I always mall grab. To all the beginners, don't listen to other skaters who say it is wrong to mall grab and that only posers do it. That's bull. I find mall grabbing very convenient, especially if I have to walk through a crowd or tight spaces. It keeps your board close to your body and you have less chances of hitting something or someone with your board while walking by. Not to mention, the trucks are much more comfortable to hold than just the board. The mall grab isn't a poser hold, it's a common sense hold. From my experience, The only "posers" I have seen are the skaters who judge others by how they skate or hold their board. Real skaters have never said anything to me about "mall grabbing" because they know they do it too.

    • @geistov7075
      @geistov7075 7 лет назад +2

      Yeah mall grabbing is real soft on your thumbs too. If you grab your board by the nose constantly you're going to feel it on your thumb, and that's not fun.

    • @darkwriter_xx94
      @darkwriter_xx94 6 лет назад

      What I do is not technically a mall grab but I just carry it against my side like normal but let the weight of the trucks/wheels rest on my forearm. Your arm will get dirty though.

    Caveman from an obstacle is one of the coolest ways in my book.. i used to to those by running to a wall, , put my backfoot to it, and push of quite high.
    it is also a great way to practice landing your board when rolling of, or ollieing of higher obstacles.. i also "incorporated" this in a "no comply"by rolling to a wall, taking of my front foot, grabbing my board and putting my backfoot up the wall.. when done right, it is a cool trick

  • @jacobm92
    @jacobm92 7 лет назад +13

    i usually just grab the nose, set the back wheels down then let the front of the board drop to the ground. then i just push as i get on.

    I love the way you got on your board in your “how to get off boards” video. The one where you put your back foot under the tail and flip it over landing your foot on the top. (Like the bounce drop- the bounce) I think it’s the pressure flip

    Beginner question: I am right handed, but left legged (left leg in front). What’s the best way to get a “running start”? Should I practice trowing the board down with my left (off) hand?

    • @MarqueeliusThe_III
      @MarqueeliusThe_III Год назад

      I would recommend practicing with your non-dominant hand. Or you could awkwardly (not really) jump to the side while doing a running start so that you can get on your board in regular stance. Also dang man 3 years and no response? I’m sure you’ve already came up with a solution to this problem. Anyways, hope your progression is going well.

    For a beginner i'd recommend planting the tail of the board vertical to the ground with your non-dominant foot slightly on the tail. Like a lever, let the board lower to the ground using that foot to control it from bouncing away from you, then right away just put your foot on and push off. Sure it's not as cool as jumping on it but I think it's a lot better and looks better than bending your ass over and placing the board down as shown in the video lol. Your don't have to bend down at all for this.

    I do one, I don't know what it's called but I call it a milkshake. Just put your board sideways balancing on the wheels and then but your foot at the nose and kick it back and it should spin around. Kinda cool to me.

    I don't know what its called and they're not really efficient but a way you could get on for beginners is simply place the board on your feet(grip tape side) and jump up and it'll flip and you can make this look cooler by placing one of your feet on the tail and jump up(This one is easy but may take a bit of practice for people with little experience)
