If you skateboard, these BONES Rough Rider wheels are a must!! Seriously these are the perfect in between wheels for cruising to the Beer store without having to look whack on a long board. I highly recommend them. They can help you get some smooth "cinematic" shots too 😉
Just put these on my dark star board after 13 years of running stock bearings & wheels. Man am I happy to have gotten these, no more falling over cracks
I have the Rough Riders on a couple setups. I love them!! They are good on rough pavement and super fun to go fast at the skateparks. Forgiving and fat guy approved!
Savvas Stergos yes but they r not as fast, they r made for streets, normal wheels would be better, but yes u can use them for skate parks. i use for both.
Thanks. You convinced me to buy both the wheels (in red, 56 mm) and the shake junt bearings😄. What a difference to the previous 49 mm left of my Bones STFs 99A. Shitty roads smooth🤟
If you get hard wheels, they need to be above 56mm, from a good brand, and long spinning bearings so your wheels wont slow down from those nanoseconds of weightlessness from bumps in the ground. Most guys in 52s seem slow as when they ride, except this one freak of nature at the park who does impossibles ar high speed on true bearing condoms. Hope that wasnt too long
Dude. Try some soft wheels just for the hell of it for cruising. It is a vast improvement for rough asphalt. I was riding 101A Mini Logos, and then 103A Bones STF. Then, I switched to 90A Mini Logos. What a difference. I don't know about 80A yet. I have some Mini Logo AWOL 55mm on order. I am hoping they are better still than the 90As that I'm currently riding. Don't expect to be doing power slides, but, aside from that, it is rad having such a smooth ride and being able to rider over cracks easier. Of could you want to up your wheel size also.
Most people don't understand that the difference between bearing are not that far apart between the worst and the best and itd be far smarter to get the best wheels can cause some level of soft to hard wheels serves for a myriad of different terrains and concrete surfaces
Maaaan I just love this vid. The weather and atmosphere looked beautiful! Uninterrupted skating down that open road and the song choice was dope. Thanks for sharing that.
If your nuts won't go on any more, you need a file to repair the axle thread start. I add washers (1 per side usually) on the axles inner sides of the wheels until the nuts are almost flat to the axle. This way the nuts wear down quicker, but the thread starts are protected.
Since they're indipendent trucks I'm thinking I can just send them into their lifetime warranty to fix. I ended up getting another pair but still have these
These wheels look perfect for wat I’m looking for! An in between balance of a nice smooth ride with the same feel for street skating! Thanks for the vid man!
You might want to checkout Mini Logo A-Cut 90A wheels as well. I think they would probably work better for flip tricks, etc. More of a standard wheel shape. I think they are about 30mm wide, versus 40mm for these. Mini Logo has 95A as well. I've used the 90As and it was a dramatic improvement for riding on asphalt compared to the 103A Bones STFs that I was riding previously. Not good for slides though.
They are literally center-set free-ride wheels, also look at Powel-Petra Gslides. But to be honest, Gslides make great cruising wheels because how much speed they keep on a skateboard
Nice vid! The everlasting dilemma between comfortable soft wheels and fun hard wheels. I guess in the end it's the best not to try to find the best of both worlds. But just have one board for comfort and one for fun/reverts etc. This wheels do look nice and light enough to comfortably ollie and kickflip on though. So that's a big upside against my current commuter (85mm Seismic Speedvent 75A wheels)
I heard they are really nice and soft, but not as soft as the Rough Riders. Clouds are the perfect in between for doing tricks and cruising where the rough riders are better for cruising
I’ve had them for about a month and already my wheels are falling apart. They begin to develop small cracks along the surface of the wheel which results in large chunks breaking off. I mainly use them to cruise or take to the pump track which does not require much abuse. I’m currently looking for a different brand. Do not recommend
That nut that doesnt spin on is either the axle itself is stripped, or the nut is stripped. old trucks will usually not be straight on the axles, thats why the nut wont go on. some skate tools have rethreaders on them.

Powell G Slides 85a 59mm VS Bones ATF rough riders 80a 59mm, what do you think? Need a set for cruising the city, sharp turns around corners. So a lot grip and maybe sharp lips needed but not so much grip to slow down fast on average streets. I need fast acceleration. Got 78a, 62mm which I can do sharp turns with, but they also slow down fast.
Oh I believe you. I live downtown Toronto and some streets are complete shit and others are butter smooth. Just comes with living in a city that gets winter for half the year
Honestly I can't believe it either. It ended up falling off completely 10min after I finished shooting the video and I couldn't even find it on the ground. The skate Gods were seriously with me
Bro great video! This is perfect since my short commute to work has lots of cracks and potholes. Gonna grab the wheels and bearings! Combo as smooth as butter. Edit: Your shots with the drone were epic!
Question to all viewers. I look at amazon reviews of this wheel, and every user added picture is of the wheel with chunks missing. They say after 2-3 weeks (or even 10 minutes) the wheels start to break if you do ANY ollies, shuv its, ect. Would anyone know of a wheel that is soft, and quiet like this wheel, but does not fall apart and can handle ollies and such?
Amily Rodriguez you can do tricks and street skate in them but I wouldn’t recommend having only these wheels for that. It makes the board heavier which makes flip tricks require more effort and since they are soft they bounce when you land so it’s not as satisfying landing tricks in these. I usually keep a spare set of normal wheels and a tool and switch them out if I know I’m gonna be street/skatepark skating. Only takes about 2min to change them
My only problem with wheels softer than 100a (depending on brand because one brand's 100a is another's 97a) is that I destroy them much faster due to my weight. If they held up while I got my work out it would be a different story.

Yeah I don't even think they would power slide, they are way too grippy. To be fair I've been skateboarding about 15 years and still don't know how to power slide. I'm either too weak or too pussy to commit to a power slide. Really weird but I've tried multiple times to learn them and can only ever get them on smooth skatepark ground
I think you have to download the "Turn On My Skateboard" app it's only on iOS but android has one too that does the same thing but doesn't work as well
They're very fast so they might not be that good for beginner. But yes you can go down a hald pipe with them although they are very grippy and dont slide much
Im actually more the cruising fan, and just like to cruse around. But I only have a skateboard with normal skate wheels. I should have bought a longboard instead of a skateboard, I was an idiot on skateboard which is why I bought a skateboard instead of a longboard. I still used it everyday but now I’m longing for something that would fit me more. So I’m thinking if I should sell my skateboard and buy a long from that money or if I should just buy longboard wheels/cruiser wheels.
Try out some cruiser wheels first. Long boards get pretty expensive and i feel they are too big anyways. It's like a surf board. Don't wanna go into a store or bar with that. I love having cruiser wheels on my regular board

I think you have to download the "Turn On My Skateboard" app it's only on iOS but android has one too that does the same thing but doesn't work as well
Cxons just lean left or right
Can u still ollie with those easy
YES! I'd say easier than normal wheels
I’m a beginner looking for wheels. I can start but I can’t stop. How do you stop with wheels like these, since you can’t slide with them ?
I sort of just place one foot on the grounnd, or drag the toe of my back foot on the ground to slow down
I use my skateboard for commuting so i use bigger wheels to soak up bumps and cracks and move easier. got bad roads around where i live.
Vans been to war and back. Looks fun
“Shake junt motha fucka!” Killed me
Are these good for going to the skate park and going down the halfpipes. I’m a beginner so I dont really know yet
Awesome drone shots.
2:42 my spoon when i drop it in the middle of the night
Yeooooo ahah for real! 😂
Hey I want to buy these wheels but I’m not sure if the bearings need spacers
I'm not using spacers so I don't think they need it
@@FrogyProd why tho
