Hey man, sweet setup! I’m doing the same with my nova at the moment. Have a new LS3 from blueprint plus a new 6L80. What’s the rearend gearing on this thing?? And how is it on the highway? Trying to decide what to go with. Thanks!
Where can I get your tunes? I have 5.3 wit 7875 turbo microsquirt v3 24x sloppy stage 2 cam and btr springs. I built my engine after watching your videos. Thank you
Hey Mott could you ask your friend where he got the front spoiler? I can’t wait for my 6.0ls swap in my ‘68. I really wanted good power but didn’t want to spend a lot so I decided turbo but it’s good to see that a can only ls will be that fun in a first gen.
I just put a down payment on a dropout L96 and 6L90E runner with 109K miles and am nervous that I should have gone with an LY6 and 4l80E. Would you say that I made a mistake? Swapping a 76 Buick regal 2dr.
Im learning it can be a huge pain in the ass, hit up Andy at Lsx specialties first before your make a move on wiring and stuff and he can get you sorted first just let him know all the details, the ly6 and 80e is way easier imo. I’m going to do more with the 6spd to learn more about swapping them and getting them working soon
This is a very similar direction to what I want to do with my car. I have a 70 Nova with complete custom subframe, torque arm, Ford 9", etc. Trying to upgrade my 350/350 to a LSx and 4l80 (to save on the weight and transmission tunnel mods) with paddle shifters. Awesome seeing this beast and the work that was done to it. Good stuff! Got any more details on the suspension setup on the Camaro?
Hotchkis springs ft sway bar...Hellwig rear sway bar ...still leaf in the back... Viking double adjustable shocks....afx tall corvette spindle.....c6 Z06 brakes all around
Mybelair1956 Still on leafs? That must really drift nicely! I've never run a solid axle leaf car on a road course before, I bet that takes some right foot practice
Truth Maximus its more of an autoX car. It works REALLY well for what it is. The shocks make a huge difference!! It holds its own on the road course too
I bet if you put the same flowing heads on the BBC that matches the flow of the l76 heads and around the same Camshaft lift and duration of whatever y'all put in the l76... That the BBC would out power the 6.0 period!!!! I'ma LS fan but Big Blocks are king for a reason
Matt, I am so envious about how many cool cars you get to see and tune. And I thank you for sharing them all. There is seriously a little bit of everything. My favorite car that you have showed recently, was the Dakota that had a setup almost identical to your first Colorado build. This car is awesome. I love when people do other stuff with transmissions that isn't the standard 4L80E stuff. I always wondered about the 6 speed 80E and 90E. I am also wondering if the 5th gen motors are going to become common in swaps, as much as the 3rd and 4th gen, as well as using the stock transmissions and converters with them.
What does it mean to push through a converter? I'm eyeing a cam for my L92 and this concerns me. How does upping the idle RPM help? I really appreciate any info!!!
First Last Hypothetically, put a camshaft in an engine that won’t idle below 2500 rpm. Assume the stock converter stalls at 1500 rpm. Whenever the engine is running, it’s wanting to “push through the converter”. ; Shop for a cam that idles below your torque converter stall speed.
I had a mild 406 sbc, afr 195’s ,10.5:1 226-230 hyd roller thru a 200r4 3500 ptc and Dana 60 do 400-400 to the tire . That is a very weak big block! Just saying . Can search video up. 1968 Chevelle dyno 406 200r4 #2. Sbc’s And bbc’s can still run and make good numbers with a good builder ....
1956- nice. It made great usable power for sure. I would love to know what cam profile is in there, to many unveiled ones to make sense. I got a 04 L96 /4L80e that I'm currently trying to shoehorn into a 350Z, but want to get all the upgrades before installing.
ANYWAY YOU COULD SHARE OR EDUCATE ME ON THE HARNESS, ECM , TCM , IT HAS ,,, I AM PLANNING THIS SWAP [ NON-ALUMINUM BLOCK THOUGH ] ,, IN MY 1997 [ 2 DOOR TAHOE 2 WD. ] ,, BUT I AM HAVING GREAT DIFFICULTY IN FINDING THE CORRECT WIRING SETUP AND CONTROLS THEREOF ,,, THANKS .
I put the same engine/trans in my '57 chevy truck. Cam with long tube headers and tune, got similar numbers. great setup.
Love how the rear looks, that color and matte black and those tail lights set it off.
The whole car just looks so bad ass.
416 on a stock converter cam is awesome. Square port heads doin work!
I love it when you have to flick switches to start your car.
Wholly cow that beast sounds pissed off! Bad ass car!
I am watching this on my beats head phones. When the dyno slows down it sounds like Godzilla is coming. Sounds crazy. The Camaro sound great.
Nice build I have a 79 z28 and I'm using the same setup I need to know what crossmember did you use
I was wondering why I liked this Camaro so much. I loved that truck he built. He has good taste.

Hey look it's not 2 seconds
That car looks great.
I'm shocked that the LS pulls so quick over the bb. I wouldn't have guessed that.
loose converter really kills it

Goooooood God that thing sounds viscous! And yeah, does it EVER go through the gears fast!
That big block torque tho lol
That's pretty cool with a 6l80 too

Pretty awesome. I built my sn95 Mustang for Road course, grew up auto X Vw, and O/R rally with AWD Audi's. Your car on RD ATL would be a blast.
What cam is he using? I have a very similar build.
Hot damn that's a clean build.
Anyone know if this has an X or H pipe? If I had to guess it's an H.
No H or X...car is LOW!!! I wanted everything tucked up. Glad i didn't i was told it would be louder!!!!

Bad ass video as usual! Where is the one of the primer 69 camaro?

it really is awesome, i love stuff like this specially because i talked him into it!
Thanks Matt!
What cam shaft is it? I have the same engine swap in my 51 chevy 3100
Yes I love the driving videos
see i heard him say "rip" through the gears but i guess i didn't really understand it until i saw it happen holy shit she runs
Is this car using the bcm of which the motor and trans came out of or do u not need it
Heesa gots a lot oh money in that orange monster, the paddle shifters probably cost more than my engine and trans put together
What happened to white GMC Sierra reg cab
What cam did you use for this
I’m running an L96 with the 6l90. More info on the paddle shifters would be greatly appreciated. What exhaust is he running?
Recommend video to find out more on the 6l80e
Question mark at the end.
That car is badass

Dyno run starts 3:00 in . Also this is on heartbreaker mustang dyno
m.ruclips.net/video/PFKd4-Vo_ts/видео.html
Does the DYNO need a break job?
George Mitchell I just replaced the entire brake setup, that’s why it’s loud, because it’s working
Hey Matt is there a way you can tune line pressure for firmer shifts? Or do you just mess with the shift point itself?
Big Phizzle u cAn up your line pressure for firmer shifts! Thats what i did for my daily 02 Silverado..tryna save the 60e👍
What’s the rear end gear ratio?
Nice
What's the accessory drive setup on it? Looks very clean.
Mick McGirr all stock g8 drive with a e-bay power steering reservoir
Man, looks great. Thanks for the response.
Any updates on that Roadmaster 6.0/6L80E you dynoed a while back?
ChillCosmos that car was built by a friend of mine and went to Italy and the trans was blown up going 140mph on the autoban
What was this engine out of
engine and transmission are out of an auction g8 GT
Paddle shifting with 6 speed?
wait
HOW'D you get a 6 speed Automatic to work?????
i thought the 6 speed Autos didn't work in swaps
3rd Gen Guy Just the ECU, isnt it?
Work with gen 4 throttle, reluctor, and ecu.
I have a 2009 g8 gt, any more info on the cam setup im bone stock right now
I nave a 08 ssv Holden so I'm keen on the cam specs as well
Basically like the RCR cam....219/223 .625/.625 112 - “The Little Lunati”
Mybelair1956 I was going to ask the same question. I have a Caprice which is basically a G8gt and this things great . Thanks for the info.
I have a 2009 G8 GT also. TSP LS3 NA Stage 1 cam, blah blah blah. Runs GREAT. Great cam...

What transmission controller?
What color is that? It looks so good
Wesley Green my guess is the factory hugger orange
Factory Hugger car keepin it stock.....😏
Did he port match, stiffened the valve springs, exc, exc? Just a cAm and headers?
hatersaywhat shaved the heads .030 cam valve springs and mid length headers with 3 inch all the way back thru Black widow mufflers

How are this 6ls to tune

The 6l80 is actually lighter than a 4l80 if I remember correctly
Why does that dyno sound like dookie?
