Until you mentioned I didnt realize singing during graduation was only done in the Philippines. Not sure how this tradition first started but this is now normal and expected during graduations.
Same here, and I'm 36 y.o. already. I thought every school all around the world do this every graduation. I also realize every month there was a program or event for the students to participate in singing or jingle or dancing or cheerleading. Hehe I didn't realize all year I was surrounded by music like every day. Hehehe
Our mother is a retired elementary school teacher and she's really laughing remembering how they practiced their graduation song but it was like the Alma Mater Song of La Consolacion she's àlways talking. There's just a few number of students going to a private Catholic school before so imagine the pressure and the stress if you can't sing. She said the technique was just to open your mouth and sing without voice hahahaha. My sisters and I graduated in the same high school and we still sang the same.Alma Mater. But each of us has different graduation song of course.
Back in the 80s we used to sing Raymond Lauchengco's song FAREWELL(saying farewell to all our friends). Then SB19's MAPA became popular(kids offer their diplomas to their parents). The latest is SB19's song CRIMZONE( Hard work pays. It talks about the blood, sweat and tears they went through to graduate)
Usually schools do this "Graduation Songs" to express thanks to the faculty, staffs and parents and also to summarize the entire experience in the academic lives. More so, schools also have the School's official Hymn... we also sing this songs in this event.
Our graduation song was an original composition of our batchmate. Its about our ups and downs during high school and we ended up crying while singing the song during our graduation. Watching from 🇵🇭.. Sending love ❤️❤️❤️
Music is always been a part of graduation in the Philippines. In MaPa its a song dedicated for parents who sacrificed a lot for their children's education despite of life's challenges. Nice rendition graduates! Keep chasing your dreams.
This is a memorable moment for all the graduates in the Philippines.I could still remember our graduation song way back entitled From a Distance. Its emotional because everybody's in tears..
I was in a choir since I was 8 years old...in school, our teachers encourage us to join contests and sing every time there is a chance. Now I just realize how amazing our teachers/parents/friends are to embrace music in everything that we do!
Graduation songs are so meaningful for Filipino students especially for high school (in my opinion) for some reasons - It's the only thank you gift that we can afford for our parents and guardians - Appreciation for our teachers - And motivation for our classmates, because not everyone can afford to go to college or universities, we will choose different courses ( some sticks together though). So it's kind of motivational song and goodbye song to our high school friends and classmates. I still remember everyone crying. High school life is the best.
I was graduated 1982 for my secondary school and our graduation song is “ We are the World” a very meaningful song and all of us are crying while we sung.
That lyrics MaPa refers to all the parents Ma stands for mom and Pa stands for Dad .The SB19 composed this special songs to all the parents who worked hard just to sustain their living specially the education of their Children .As a Filipinos we always believe that our parents no wealth for us to give but they are eager to give us good future through EDUCATion❤.God blessed to all the Filipinos and thank you so much for featuring this MAPA🎉❤.

It's overwhelmingly beautiful to here them pay tribute to their parents on their graduation day... What a beautiful moment... I bet a lot of parents are crying their eyes out... This song is such beautiful beautiful masterpiece.
Not only graduation songs. We have end-of-school recognition ceremonies where they give medals and recognition certificates to the kids with remarkable grades...and back when I was a kid, we had to sing in every one of them, so that's every end of school year. The first time I learned and sang "WARRIOR IS A CHILD" and "GO THE DISTANCE" (the Regine Velasquez version, mind you) was when I was around 8-10 years old. Yes, it was one of the songs we KIDS had to sing during recognition day.
I have traveled the Philippines 30+ times and one of the many great things I have seen there is that teachers are very very much admired by the students parents and community members .The students call the teachers 'sir' or 'maam' and even if they see them outside of school they will run up and say hi to the teacher and the teacher will know them by name (even after they have left school) They also have teachers day were the students parents give them little parties cakes etc etc it is beautiful to see the the bond with students and thier teachers there. Pinoy love to learn they love to play they love to smile they love to dance they love to sing and I love the Philippines ! \ Mahal na mahal Pilipinas ingat/amping to all the Pinoy out there :):)
Yes indeed. Our Highschool batch 1990 graduation song was "Farewell" by Raymund Launchengco back in the Cebu, Philippines. Xin chao! Watching from Vietnam.
I graduated hs in 1996 and we sang "farewell to you my friend" this is a tradition from forever here I the Phils....I'm sure even our boomers used to do this. Singing is huge here, it's how we bond. I remember when mobile phones weren't even invented yet, there will always be a guitar nearby and everyone would just gather around and sing
When I thought MAPA, SLMT, IKAKO, and GO UP by SB19 would be the only songs that would be used during graduation ceremony but they also used CRIMZONE and GENTO and many more. Not sure if someone already made a compilation. 😁
This is heartwarming. Yeah, a graduation ceremony, be it in Kindergarten, 6th grade or high school, is incomplete without the graduation song. Nowadays, a little choreography and a sprinkle of voice harmony are added to it. Our HS graduation song was "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers and we ALWAYS sing it during our annual class reunion. Never fails to put a smile on our faces whenever we hear that song. 😊
In 1986 our HIGH SCHOOL the graduation song was FAREWELL TO YOU MY FRIEND. and every 10 or so years during reunions alumni sing that. LOTS OF HAPPY MEMORIES, FOOD AND CHIT CHAT.
I remember when I was graduating back in the Philippines, I currently live in Cali, my high school teacher will go one by one to all her student and listen to their voices then identify if one is alto, Suprano and so on. I was soprano. She group each of us base on our levels. Then we will vote which song to sing on graduation and Christmas event. In Christmas event a lot of parents will come attend the event and listen to us. The music teacher is the conductor in the middle. In our practice, the teacher will literally stay close to you if you sound out of tune and it was so embarrassing as she will literally tell you and a lot of kids are looking at you. She also arrange the song. I thought it was pretty normal back then. I am 100% for sure, we are better sounding than that on the video since we sound like the lesser version of The Madrigal singers. And oh, this was in a private Christian school in Bagiou City.
we do this to our school also. it's every year a teacher will come and evaluate what group u r. I'm always alto 😂 I really hate it back then the hassle of memorizing the song and the choreo. we pretend to voodoo doll our teacher LOL 😂 now I'm relieved to have these memories. I'm happy that my school days are in the Philippines. It's fun to recall it every now and then.
I remember during our high school days whennour religion teacher Sister Anna belle . not give us the grade coz I don't know why but its really the whole batch that has no rsllent in singing. Only five to ten out of three hundred, maybe. Every month we have a year mass and. Even our class advisers are already helping us coz the mother principal Sister Ursula was already complaining. She said "kung ako ang masusunod walang makapasa sa inyo" imagine its only in our batch that the parish priest is singing along with us during the mass. Hahahaha
all graduations in the Philippines do that, it's their graduation song and at the same time a tribute to their parents for all the hardships and sacrifices they did just to send them to school.
I hope you're seeing all this @ Pablo 😢. You wrote and composed this now the youth of our country will be singing it at every graduation season. Proud of you and sb19.
SB 19s MaPa is a song dedicated to parents who worked so hard to raise the family including their children's education. Telling the parents to take a rest, mum dad your old and tired. it's my turn to work for you, like you've done so much for me. Filipino values this so much as it's a challenge for most Filipinos to finish their education because of different circumstances. Good job graduates! Soar high!
Thank you for appreciating our school graduation culture here in the Philippines, Efra and Waleska. You know, it is usually a School's and/or Teacher's requirement that everyone joins the Presentation weather you like it or not. Hehehehehe. In my Grade School graduation before, we sang "Wind beneath my wings" as a tribute for our Parents' sacrifices and efforts for us. Then in our High School Graduation before, we sang "If we hold on together". Then we were all really emotional and teary eyes for our last days as classmates before moving to our own chosen careers and schools for College. The school really intends such presentations like this for students, parents, and even guests to appreciate and honor the school as well. These were our memorable moments/days in our school life as students.
This song MAPA of SB19 truly suits/appropriates the Graduation Rites because it's about their Parents sacrifices to let them go thru schooling. It's an Acronym of MAma & PApa or Ma and PA thus MAPA.
I love watching your channel, because of how you two show to the world things no one else do different from other cultures. Philippines is a happy and fun place to be. Thanks supporting our culture, something to be proud of. God bless
This is one of the reasons you will miss attending school 😊practicing songs and dances together , this song "MAPA" really touch hearts of the parents , also students to be thankful to their parents ❤
In some exclusive schools, they have regular convocations where a specific batch is asked to sponsor a presentation. This is in addition to the annual foundation day presentation where all batches from primary to HS prepares one that opens a week long fair of intramural games, rides and booths. From Kindergarten to 4th year HS, this was how it was. Then the JS proms and finally the graduation itself. Happy days!!!!
I'm a Filipino, living and working in Japan. They also sing a graduation song here in Japan. 5th grade students sing for the graduating students, it is very solemn and emotional. I used to teach in public schools and I've seen it myself, made me cry to be honest. But graduation in the Philippines is more emotional.
children give me goosebumps, adding to the sentimentality of the song. everytime i hear that song it breaks me so. the song talks about a grown son or daughter telling his/her parent/parents to take it easy now and rest because it's his turn to take care of them now that he's grown and the parents are old and tired taking care of everything for a long time.
even after 25 years i still remember when i was in preschool, when we did our moving up ceremony.we held it in our church and we sang I Can by DoReMi while holding hands with my classmates forming a big circle...that was one of the fondest memory of my childhood🤗
All graduation songs are so memorable for the batch! I remember we have to practice for weeks just to practice that song. Our music teacher will teach us those harmonies, like I remember in elementary/grade school, our voices are assessed if we are soprano, tenor, etc. Then we are in one room each rehearsal. It's fun cuz even those who can't sing SHOULD sing and there is nothing wrong if you can't because we practice, practice, practice. It's a bond among schoolmates even tho you don't meet them personally, you'll laugh with them when voice became out of tune during rehearsals HAHAHAHA
I remember our graduation 🎓 songs so well. It's written in the heart. Those moments last us a lifetime and so these kids will do too. ❤ What memories to reminisce one day.
My Teachers in Secondary School Let us choose songs for our Graduation and also for our Parents and we need to change some of the lyrics to say thank you and give praises for the hardwork our parents do for us to finish school. ❤❤❤ the MAPA of SB19 is really good song to sing for our parents no need to change the lyrics🥰🥰🥰
It's a decade that every graduation we have a special songs dedicated to parents, teachers and classmates. it's common here in every graduation and some special occasions.
True enough, graduation ceremonies here in the Philippines always have graduation songs, from kindergarten to college. I can still vividly recall mine, in elementary it was "The Greatest Love of All" and in highschool it was "Handog".
Graduation day in the Philippines is very exciting for being a graduate receiving the diploma and emotional at the same time because finally the hardships of the parents for the child to finish school is finally over and a success being the dream realized. Thats why every students want to graduate so they can already stand on thier own to enjoy life with the family who supported them all the way. Congrats Graduates.
Yeah indeed this is a must in every graduation in Philippines. I can still remember our graduation song ”If we hold on together” and all of us are crying while singing 🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️ Very remarkable and emotional day… ❤️❤️❤️
I didn't remember our graduation songs that we sang. I didn't know the title. Hahahaha. But I doremember we sang in front of the audience. And that's normal. I realized we are different from others. Cool di ba?!!!! Amazing!!! God bless Philippines! 🥰
Graduation song was voted by students at least three weeks before the d-day. Multiple of choices were given to students on which songs to be sung. When a particular song was picked teachers or student leaders gives the copy of the song to all students to memorize the matter. Within two weeks before the d-day practices were held on each room of graduates for the song and marches on school lawn and court.
I was one of the master of ceremonies for the graduation ceremonies in the first clip. It was even more beautiful on the actual day, and seeing it now reach an international platform makes me immensely proud of our faculty members responsible. 💖💖💖
Thank you guys.. This is nostalgic. My elementary grad song was IF WE HOLD ON by Diana Ross.. my high school was GOD WILL DO THE REST. composed by a Priest from our catholic school. We even have a Prom Song then. I remembered we sung JOURNEY by Leah Salonga.. In my college grad we sing our school hymn. We like to connect our milestone with a song.. its normal here...
One more thing in high school and college our graduation(different in every school) is celebrated in three events starting on Friday, Saturday then Sunday(the graduation ceremony) All of those events include singing and parents have their own day to honor them for all their sacrifices. My high school song and college songs I still memorize them by heart!
i vividly remember my HS graduation song FAREWELL by Raymond Lauchengco and i was in front with my 4 co-graduates singing, leading the 200 young adult, a memory to last a lifetime😊
Our graduation song for elementary was The Climb and our parents were beside us while we sing so I saw my mother crying and I cried a little too because I saw her cried, when she teased me about it, I said I cried because the song was too high 🤣 For high school, it was Long Live and for University, it was A Million Dreams 😊
I went to HS in the 80's and the most popular songs played aside from the Official graduation song are Sharon Cuneta's "High School life" and Raymond Lauchengco's "Farewell to you my Friend". Almost everyone cried because we knew that we might never saw each other after that night. That's true until now ( 36 years ). No FB , no social media. 😢
We didn't do a high school prom because it was during the martial law and had a military ball instead. Our graduation was very simple and we were the very first batch to wear our uniforms during graduation and we had Top of the World by the Carpenters as our graduation song. We never forget to sing this during reunions.
Usually graduation songs are done on sixth grade, fourth year of secondary school and senior year... and it's mostly to thank the faculty and tribute to parents. Oh and btw... back in my highschool years musical was pretty common actually... almost every school event there is musical competitions it's as if a must already.
@Waleska-Herrera In the Philippines, though, there are at least one of these following or succeeding in-campus or off-campus, school or inter-school parties, especially for high schools (junior high schools and senior high schools): Christmas Party on a day in the second or third week of December, before the Christmas holidays or Christmas break and the resuming of classes or school/academic days on January 2 or 3 the next new year or on the first Monday of the next new year. This is even different and separate from a Christmas Festival or Fest, which is usually on a day within the first or second week of December. It is usually set in-campus in school classrooms or homerooms with your class, homeroom or homeroom guidance adviser and/or subject teacher. Usually, almost all or the majority of the students, learners or scholars from different grade or year levels, classes and/or batches, programs/curricular or educational programs/academic programs/specialized curricular or educational programs/specialized academic programs, etc. attend this; Acquaintance and/or Socialization Party, which can or usually occurs or happens on a day within the first quarter, term or semester of a school/academic year. It is usually set in-campus in an available school gymnasium, covered court, roof top area, field, park, multipurpose hall or the like and whatnot else school facilities more than being set in a hotel hall or in other hotel facility. Usually, almost all or the majority of the students, learners or scholars from different grade or year levels, classes and/or batches, programs/curricular or educational programs/academic programs/specialized curricular or educational programs/specialized academic programs, etc. attend this; Prom, Prom Night or Party, JS or Junior-Senior Prom, Prom Night or Prom Party, which is more like a themed ball or gala than just a party on a day within the month of February and usually on a day within the week before or after but not on February 14. It is usually set in a hotel hall or in other hotel facility more than being set in-campus in a school campus. Usually, only almost all or the majority of the junior and the senior grade or year levels attend this (Grade 11/11th Grade and Grade 12/12th Grade students, learners or scholars for senior high schools and/or Grade 9/9th Grade and Grade 10/10th Grade students, learners or scholars for junior high schools) attend this; and the... Graduation or Moving Up (Ceremony) Ball, Night or Party, which is more like a party than a ball or gala on a day before or after the day of the graduation ceremony or commencement exercise or the moving up ceremony and/or also the day of recognition within the last or final month of the school/academic year within March or April or within June, July or August, all depending on when the school/academic year starts or begins. It may be set in a hotel hall or in other hotel facility or may be set in-campus in an available school gymnasium, covered court, roof top area, field, park, multipurpose hall or the like and whatnot else school facilities. Usually, only almost all or the majority of the graduating or graduated Grade 12/12th Grade students, learners or scholars for the Graduation Ball, Night or Party and the graduating or graduated Grade 10/10th Grade students, learners or scholars for the Moving Up (Ceremony) Ball, Night or Party attend this.
When I graduated from Elementary, High School and College, the Class Graduation Song was ALWAYS part of the graduation rites. Everywhere in the Philippines. Normal for us. Even Graduate School...there's a graduation song.
I remember our school ran a contest on who can make lyrics for the graduation song, around 20 were submitted and they couldn't pick a definite winner so we sang 3 original graduation songs in high school. ♥
I still get emotional thinking about my elementary graduation (i didnt attend my jhs one). We sang reach for the sky by sarah geronimo, it was high as fuck but we managed lol and in the end most of the people in my area cried. Next year i'll have my senior high graduation i guess i need to prepare my eyes till then hahahahahaha
In our batch 10 years ago, we sang `This is my now` and `Iingatan ka` for tribute of parents. We were crying while singing. It's always emotional moment.
graduation, recognition, moving up day, etc, singing is always part of the program. The songs are not just random, they are always meaningful , dedicated to or to give honor (classmates, teachers, parents, encouragements to oneself and more) MAPA is dedicated to parents
Group singing is a part of graduation ceremony in the Philippines. It makes graduation memorable , funny but sad because they are moving to another grade level and some expect that they might get separated or not see some of their classmates anymore. Others transfer to other schools or may be assigned to other sections. This also serves as a tribute to the school and their teachers in bidding goodbye. After the graduation song you can see that graduates are smiling but crying, hugging each other. This day really is very emotional but so special.
11:11 so we also have prom party but sometimes this only happens with junior high schoolers which is grade 10 it is also a big thing like bringing a date or not just with your friends its just basically a party for your batch but we only get recognize in grade 10 (only students with awards and honors can attend here,, recognition ceremony happens annually for grade 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) since we only consider graduating in grade 12 which is the senior high school and since its the transition from grade school to college thats when we get the graduation ceremony
@Waleska-Herrera 2:30 What?! Just 1 (one) "talent show" in a year or in a school or academic year?! In the Philippines, for almost each and every school or academic month that we have, we have at least one half-day, one-day to one week-long, in-campus or off-campus, school or inter-school program, activity, camp, event, intramural, fest, festival, celebration, observance, holiday, competition, contest, pageant, stage play, musical, sports and/or games event or tournament, recital, workshop, seminar, masterclass, performance task, project, showcase, culminating work or activity or the like and whatnot else, and whether academic or curricular, co-academic or co-curricular, extra-academic or extracurricular, or non-academic or non-curricular, when and where we can or have a lot of opportunities and avenues to express our imagination, creativity, craftsmanship and/or artistry, to be and get coached and/or mentored, to train or to be and get trained, to practice or rehearse, to prepare, to plan, to design, to conceptualize, to generate old or new ideas and/or concepts and themes, to develop, to create or produce, to perform, to exhibit, to display or present, and to make use and demonstrate, apply, execute or transfer our skills and talents in any available art form, subform, field, subfield, branch, subbranch, division, subdivision, discipline or subdiscipline from the visual arts and media arts, the literary arts and/or the performing arts, in one way or the other, one way or another, or maybe in some or any kind of way.
I remember our graduation song in high school was A Million Dreams from the greatest showman. the feeling when you sing with your friends and classmates and your parents watching you makes it more amazing and you will never forget it for the rest of your life.
Our highschool graduation song was composed just for us and for the event and there was harmonization and all the nine yards. At least for all major song performance even when we just celebrate mass, we harmonize. It's really a Filipino thing even back in the day. Graduated highschool in 2000.
Maybe this is also a factor why Filipinos are known for being happy people, despite the poverty/being a developing country. I’m depressed right now, I probably don’t belong to that happiest people but you know, we celebrate small wins, milestones... and this reactions + comment section reminds me of those happy and good old days which is very nice!
I'm 55 yrs. Old. Still remember my HS graduation Day song- We've Only Just Begun by the Carpenters...good memories flash back whenever i hear the song.
Every graduation there is a part when the student gives tribute to their parents for their sacrifces..😢❤ The graduation song determines which era you are part in. AHAHA I still remember our graduation song while crying my eyes out so much that day.❤
Graduation is not complete without a graduation song. It became one of the best moments/memories u wil carry when u grow old. our graduation song in elementary is "your new beginning" in high school we don't have one because there's still covid and in senior high the best one atm "huling sayaw"😎
You are all required to join. This is also the emotional part of graduation where you guys realise that you won’t be together with friends everyday anymore
During Culmination and Graduation Programs, the graduating class usually sings their Graduation Song. The lower levels/ grades perform dance numbers. So yes, Graduation ceremonies are fun in the Philippines 😊
I graduated my highschool back year 2000 and as a part of our grading we individually composed a graduation song. Our music teacher will select the best one and thats it we have our own original graduation song for that batch..sad to say social media is not a thing back then..i hope one day some one will upload our graduation song.. #Josenian #USJ-R

true! hahahaha when i was in high school our graduation song also was FAREWELL by Raymond..now i am 42 y.o....wooohhooooo!!!
We also sung that song in our graduation back in 2010
Yes that song was ours as well.
Sama mo pa "High school Life" ni Sharon cuneta, pero sa time ko alternative rock uso kaya yung version nung Pinoy alternative band kinanta nmin😂
same song farewell on my hs grad way back 2000
Usually schools do this "Graduation Songs" to express thanks to the faculty, staffs and parents and also to summarize the entire experience in the academic lives. More so, schools also have the School's official Hymn... we also sing this songs in this event.
All graduation has their Graduation song. The tricky part here is how we do the harmonies. We do it by ear.
Harmony? Or Unison singing😂 wala namang harmony jan

Graduation songs are so meaningful for Filipino students especially for high school (in my opinion) for some reasons
- It's the only thank you gift that we can afford for our parents and guardians
- Appreciation for our teachers
- And motivation for our classmates, because not everyone can afford to go to college or universities, we will choose different courses ( some sticks together though). So it's kind of motivational song and goodbye song to our high school friends and classmates.
I still remember everyone crying. High school life is the best.
i like these siblings... they are so artistically diligent, bubbly, knowledgeable, and intelligently sensible about any musical arts topic...
I didn't realize they're siblings... i really thought they were a couple! SORRYYY! HAHAHA
I was graduated 1982 for my secondary school and our graduation song is “ We are the World” a very meaningful song and all of us are crying while we sung.

My son is one of them. Thanks for appreciating Filipino music. More blessings to your channel
What school is this? If you don't mind me asking.
I have traveled the Philippines 30+ times and one of the many great things I have seen there is that teachers are very very much admired by the students parents and community members .The students call the teachers 'sir' or 'maam' and even if they see them outside of school they will run up and say hi to the teacher and the teacher will know them by name (even after they have left school)
They also have teachers day were the students parents give them little parties cakes etc etc it is beautiful to see the the bond with students and thier teachers there.
Pinoy love to learn they love to play they love to smile they love to dance they love to sing and I love the Philippines !
\
Mahal na mahal Pilipinas ingat/amping to all the Pinoy out there :):)
agree! post pandemic they include choreography ala-High School Musical
@SB19Official
Kaps, naiiyak ako sa subrang pagka proud sa SB19 lalong lalo na kay Pinuno.🥺💙💙💙
It's 3:30pm, pls don't make me cry. 😢
Waiting for Xb sa graduation song para sa mga gen z haha
In my school year's we sing FAREWELL we say goodbye to our teacher's and classmates but now in SB19 ERA we thanks our parents na... that's why MAPA
Glowing inside for High School graduation, today my life begins for college, forgot what song we sung for Elementary graduation
Philippines graduation is very emotional.. Its like a proud and a big a achievement for a parents to see their kids to graduate.. ❤❤❤❤
SB19 songs have been like a trend in graduation ceremonies here, from MAPA to GO UP, IKAKO, GENTO, SLMT, even CRIMZONE..
I love watching your channel, because of how you two show to the world things no one else do different from other cultures. Philippines is a happy and fun place to be. Thanks supporting our culture, something to be proud of. God bless
Our graduation song in high school in 1984 was from a distance, through the graduation song now we could see if what achievement we have now.
It's a song that shows their appreciation to all their mother...
Proud of Pablo for writing this song and SB19. Ilysm guys! This is the only song wherein the first line of the song would make me cry. 🥹
When I graduated HS our graduation song was "throught the years" this mapa song is so touching to sing for your parents. ❤️❤️
children give me goosebumps, adding to the sentimentality of the song.
everytime i hear that song it breaks me so. the song talks about a grown son or daughter telling his/her parent/parents to take it easy now and rest because it's his turn to take care of them now that he's grown and the parents are old and tired taking care of everything for a long time.
I’m a Filipino but I’m based in Japan. Here in Japan they do sing a graduation song too. And the parents here wear formal clothes.
even after 25 years i still remember when i was in preschool, when we did our moving up ceremony.we held it in our church and we sang I Can by DoReMi while holding hands with my classmates forming a big circle...that was one of the fondest memory of my childhood🤗
Seriously, I always thought this is a must at every graduation everywhere in the world. 😅😂
Yeah me too... Now I know it's not. Only in the 🇵🇭... 🤣 🤣 🤣
agree..haha
Same for me.. i thought its the same to other country😂😂😂
Our graduation song was You’ll never walk alone. This is how Filipinos get prepared for concerts.😅
Our graduation song was "HAWAK KAMAY" by Yeng Constantino. This song is probably sang in almost all graduations during my batch. Hawak kamay~ 🤣
Ill bet you graduated high school in the mid 2000s, haha we sang that also.
We also song that song but it was back when i was in grade 6
@@markgideonwallis143 Elementary graduation po yung amin. Walang banggitan ng taon, bastusan?! 🤣
Mapa is a nice song to thanks to the parents for their hardworked congrats graduates proud to my youngest daughter for being a high honor ..
the MAPA of SB19 is really good song to sing for our parents no need to change the lyrics🥰🥰🥰
FAREWELL and I HAVE A DREAM were our graduation songs in the 1990s. It's a common practice at every commencement ceremony here in the Philippines.
i vividly remember my HS graduation song FAREWELL by Raymond Lauchengco and i was in front with my 4 co-graduates singing, leading the 200 young adult, a memory to last a lifetime😊
Our graduation song for elementary was The Climb and our parents were beside us while we sing so I saw my mother crying and I cried a little too because I saw her cried, when she teased me about it, I said I cried because the song was too high 🤣
For high school, it was Long Live and for University, it was A Million Dreams 😊
Always love your reactions, Wale and Efra! Love from the Philippines ❤️🇵🇭
That is Rizal National High School. They have the highest number of high school students. That is a public high school.
Our graduation song was “Farewell “ by Raymond Lauchengco ❤
Ours was "Next In Line" by After Image in high school 1995. Candelaria Institute Cabadbaran Agusan Del Norte. 😊
Usually graduation songs are done on sixth grade, fourth year of secondary school and senior year... and it's mostly to thank the faculty and tribute to parents. Oh and btw... back in my highschool years musical was pretty common actually... almost every school event there is musical competitions it's as if a must already.
They dedicated that song heartily to their parents 💕 💜❤️
Graduation songs (1 inspirational & a gratitude song ) is a norm here in the Philippines... chosen songs are heartwarming... MAPA is a good choice 🎉❤
The truth is graduation singing is one of my favorite moment in highschool❤️
What a nostalgic memory I miss my highschool days
Have also schools use..crimzone,ikako,and go up also GENTO in graduation and that's so insane the energy is so fire...
Indeed ❤
THERE WAS ANOTHER SONG OF #SB19 WHICH WAS MADE IT TO A GRADUATION SONG BY ANOTHER SCHOOL, AND IT WAS CRIMZONE, AMAZING! CHECK IT OUT
Even Go Up song of Sb19.
@Waleska-Herrera
In the Philippines, though, there are at least one of these following or succeeding in-campus or off-campus, school or inter-school parties, especially for high schools (junior high schools and senior high schools):
Christmas Party on a day in the second or third week of December, before the Christmas holidays or Christmas break and the resuming of classes or school/academic days on January 2 or 3 the next new year or on the first Monday of the next new year. This is even different and separate from a Christmas Festival or Fest, which is usually on a day within the first or second week of December. It is usually set in-campus in school classrooms or homerooms with your class, homeroom or homeroom guidance adviser and/or subject teacher. Usually, almost all or the majority of the students, learners or scholars from different grade or year levels, classes and/or batches, programs/curricular or educational programs/academic programs/specialized curricular or educational programs/specialized academic programs, etc. attend this;
Acquaintance and/or Socialization Party, which can or usually occurs or happens on a day within the first quarter, term or semester of a school/academic year. It is usually set in-campus in an available school gymnasium, covered court, roof top area, field, park, multipurpose hall or the like and whatnot else school facilities more than being set in a hotel hall or in other hotel facility. Usually, almost all or the majority of the students, learners or scholars from different grade or year levels, classes and/or batches, programs/curricular or educational programs/academic programs/specialized curricular or educational programs/specialized academic programs, etc. attend this;
Prom, Prom Night or Party, JS or Junior-Senior Prom, Prom Night or Prom Party, which is more like a themed ball or gala than just a party on a day within the month of February and usually on a day within the week before or after but not on February 14.
Next year i'll have my senior high graduation i guess i need to prepare my eyes till then hahahahahaha
when i was high school we sing season in the sun by westlife and farewell by raymond lauchingco
you should do a part 2 where they danced and sing to SB19 CRIMZONE, GO UP and IKAKO
There is even gento and slmt
In our batch 10 years ago, we sang `This is my now` and `Iingatan ka` for tribute of parents. We were crying while singing. It's always emotional moment.
graduation, recognition, moving up day, etc, singing is always part of the program. The songs are not just random, they are always meaningful , dedicated to or to give honor (classmates, teachers, parents, encouragements to oneself and more)
MAPA is dedicated
to parents
The song is tribute to school, teachers and parents this tradition here in the phillippines
When I graduated in Highschool we sung "Farewell by: Raymond Lauchengco
11:11 so we also have prom party but sometimes this only happens with junior high schoolers which is grade 10 it is also a big thing like bringing a date or not just with your friends its just basically a party for your batch but we only get recognize in grade 10 (only students with awards and honors can attend here,, recognition ceremony happens annually for grade 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) since we only consider graduating in grade 12 which is the senior high school and since its the transition from grade school to college thats when we get the graduation ceremony
@Waleska-Herrera
2:30 What?!
AHAHA I still remember our graduation song while crying my eyes out so much that day.❤
those are memories you can keep to your heart 😢, high school life is the best..
There are lot of songs of SB19 were used now in graduations ceremony of many schools here in the Philippines like ; Go Up, Ikako, Alaba and even Crimzone was used in graduations ceremony ❤❤❤❤❤ thanks for SB19 for having many inspirational songs for our generayion now
