I swear Go Ichinose is a gift to pokemon and the fact its both Go and Tobey Fox working together on the area tracts is just a masterpiece

@@Xellerator101 Yeah, the amount of time given for developing the game may have been enough to compose new music, but not enough to produce a game that performs well and has better graphics, the gameplay is fun but that is the only good thing about the game (apart from the music, that is the best part of it).
@@kaz7886 The story is a banger too. Best one in the entire series for me. Honestly the only thing I can knock these games for are the graphics and the awful performance (which is a big deal, don’t get me wrong, and is a telltale sign that these games need much, much more time in the oven).
@@macrosis1674 Yeah, i hope Legends Z-A actually gets enough time to be a good game, since Arceus was a perfect game, with the downside of having low fps, and of having terrible textured and models.

U guys see Pokémon as a game or any other series that’s either good or bad but it’s not that it’s more than that
It’s a culture and a lifestyle a living breathing world with a story and lore and characters
We form parasocial relationships with these fictional animals because we love them so much and they have so much personality and backstory
their dev time is 3-6 actually u just don’t feel it cuz they work on multiple projects simultaneously with the budget of a Disney channel movie around 15-20mil and they have to balance game release with the anime and the cards
Everyone can say pokemon should be like Zelda or xenoblade but those games don’t have an anime and a tcg they have to abide by it’s like jenga
Also they do make decisions dictated by the competitive scene
And they may or may not share resources that part I’m unsure of
Hot take:
the point of Pokémon is to appeal to the widest audience possible and that there’s something for everyone from mainline to the anime to the spin offs
Well maybe if people got into the other avenues of the franchise rather than solely the games u wouldn’t be disappointed
Since the series was designed to be symbiotic with itself and to experience every avenue together for a complete experience
U guys need to reevaluate ur priorities Visuals,frame rate,art style are irrelevant
People are too focused on superficial nonsense
let’s be real u didn’t get into the original games for the graphics
And If u didn’t play games for the graphics as a kid then why would u play them for the graphics now

What the hell does graphics and performance have to do with those things?
Nothing if you wanna criticize a franchise criticize it on whether or not it delivered on the messages and themes it promised

You have to remember pokemon games have only been 3D since 2013 that’s pretty recent compared to other games like Zelda that have been 3D since the 90s and early 2000s so obviously they’re gonna be behind Mixed with the fact that They can’t delay the game because main console for only 5 years compared to Zelda since n64
The franchise was designed so that every aspect of it has a symbiotic relationship
The games can’t release without the anime the merch and the manga and the manga the merch and the anime can’t release without the games
And it’s about time you all understand that by now

When you watch the anime it makes u wanna play the game and vice versa so they are companion pieces designed to be experienced together for a complete experience
They choose to live in their own bubble and be one of a kind and not imitate what everyone else does and they have my respect for that

Some context:
- 9:59. In Pokémon canon lore, this guy right here in the video wrote the Team Star battle music tracks.
- The Area Zero tracks are designed to blend between each other.
- Champion Geeta is the official champion of the Paldea region (where Scarlet and Violet takes place), but in Paldea the title of "champion" works differently compared to other regions. If you beat Geeta in an official battle - you are a champion but it doesn't make Geeta or anyone else who beat her less of a champion. This is because, I believe, Geeta is also the chairman of the local Pokémon League. If you beat her, you get the title of a champion but you can't just replace Geeta as the chairman. Someone has to run the league, and it's not a job given to anyone who only proved themselves as amazing trainers.
- Nemona is one such case and why she also has the title of a champion. She beat Geeta, but because she doesn't run the league Geeta keeps her title. Nemona actually beat Geeta before the game starts, and the entire time Nemona acts as your rival and nurture you to become stronger. Nemona reached a point where she ran out of challenge so the thrill of battle was lost to her. It's all too easy for her. The battle in the video takes place right after you beat Geeta, as you are finally strong enough for Nemona to go all in and she waited the entire game for this moment.
That's the best rival I've heard of 😮
You should totally react to DLC music too! I can suggest a few tracks: Pecharunt battle theme, Blueberry academy elite four, Champion Kieran battle theme, Area Zero underdepths, Stellar Terapagos battle theme, I hope you'll give a look at these
Terapagos battle theme is my fave theme out of all the Blueberry DLC themes.
He should also react to the blueberry academy trainer battle theme

Eh DLC OST is painfully mid compared to most games, it would be better if he just went back and listened to the like gen 5 or 7 OST’s instead.
Not counting either DLC, each Wild Battle theme is a remix/cover of its corresponding Area theme, sync'd to fade in and out as you enter/leave wild encounters. And that slap bass features in ALL of them! It's pretty great!
I’m not gonna lie, Pokemon music has always been on another level. There’s always some bangers
Pokemon music gets better and better. This gen they pulled out all the stops every theme is emotionally fitting and a bop
Ths game's region is inspired in Spain. Probably that's why the guitars.
A little bad sad that the version of the team star boss theme that most reactors react to cuts off right at the variation on the guitar solo to finish that happens on the second loop
The variation is one of my favorite parts so yeah it’s a shame

the team star tracks honestly felt as energetic as a Sonic ost,which fit their story so well. the devs really went all out on S/V ost. It was all bangers
The “density” and feeling of zero gravity you were feeling from the song is largely due to the fact that like space, Area Zero (essentially a giant hole in the ground) is a place that has been completely shut off from the outside world and the people in the region know nothing about what’s in it. So when you get there, there is the immediate feeling of “This is a place we were not meant to see or be in.”
Pokémon’s soundtracks deserve Grammys and other awards it’s a shame it gets overlooked so much
Fun fact, Toby Fox actually composed Area Zero along with a few of the other songs!
Fun fact: The big plot twist with Team Star is that they're awkward nerds cosplaying as gang bikers in an attempt to scare off the bullies at school.
I'll always be most fond of the grunt themes for Team Plazma and Team Skull for the vibes and immediate impact (kinda important when most pokemon battles with grunts end in under a minute) but they're probably less interesting from a musician's perspective than the straining strings of the Tear Star grunt theme so ranking a 'best' really depends I think.
The Team Star boss theme has fantastic immediate impact and is definitely one of the best 'admin' themes in the series tho
i saw people not liking scarlet and violets music when it released and i was shocked. its so good
It was mainly the Gym Leader theme that was disliked, especially the chanting part, which felt inferior to SwSh's crowd chanting in the stadiums.
I would REALLY suggest for you to listen to the Terapagos battle theme next, that's one of my favourite songs in the game
10:31 They also use those notes during the gym leader theme, which makes sense since team star bosses also theme around a pokemon type just like gym leaders. They were also made into gym leader like challenges for Paldean students to do near the end of the game.
My favourite track from the game is Ruinous Legend (the legendary Quartet battle theme).
Damn man if he loves the Area Zero Themes so much then the Underdepths theme and Terapagos two battle themes are a must react for him. Seriously Terapagos is like the reason Area Zero exists and it’s theme reflects that: a battle version of the Area Zero Theme, so fucking good I still listen to it regularly!
I've a playlist which starts off with both the Terapagos' themes, so I repeatedly get to listen to them.
The temes of Tera Raid, Area Zero, Area Zero wild encounter and Area Zero Lab battle were all made by Toby Fox.
The Area Zero theme catches well and is a huge impact when you hear it for the first time because Area Zero is usually forbidden to access. When you see the place you feel it like a pure paradise that was never seen by humans, but also tells you to be aware since something that shouldn't be there already made that place its home, and doesn't like visitors.
Yo was waiting for this after seeing the last Pokemon music reaction you did. I recommend checking out some of the DLC music for this game as well. Especially all 4 of Kieran's battle themes (in order would be Kieran battle theme, Kieran Final Battle theme - Teal Mask, Champion Kieran theme, Kieran and Terapagos theme), the Blueberry League Elite Four theme, and the Terapagos battle theme. All bangers

Nemona is the best rival full-stop. Honestly, scarlett violet (and its expansions) has the best soundtrack, best characters and best story of the 3D pokemon era. Shame the game was a buggy mess.

The games are in development for 3-6 years we just don’t feel it because a lot of times they work on multiple generations at the same time they have two teams the games have a 15-20 million dollar budget

The Team Star themes are my favorite from the game and it's amazing to see that theres actually theoretic merit behind why they sound so good.
Please if you can, react to all of Kieran's themes! I would love to hear what someone with a trained ear thinks of them. I personally find that especially his last Champion theme is incredible at telling his story.
The idea of Area Zero is a place that shouldn't exist and that goes against the laws of nature. Literally the timeline is shaking and affects the melody.

Have tbh here, I have been playing Pokemon Since Red, Blue and Yellow and Pokemon has cut corners with the resent games and these games are a mess and buggy but the music just never fails in Pokemon games and i still enjoy playing them, Pokemon announced a new game in February coming in 2025 so i'm excited to hear the music in that game
