- A few months back, JeepCables.com offered an exclusive Metra Double Din Bezel / Install Kit.
In this video, we install a Sony XAV-AX3000 and show that it can be done simply with a few hand tools.

Wouldn’t you just remount the side brackets to move it up and fit better? I hope to install the Sony 4000 soon.
One thing I’d like to ad that you forgot to mention is that the brackets on the side of the radio have to be trimmed down when using a single din double face radio
Yes, we cut a small section out of each, but YMMV based on the unit you get and where the screws line up.

Any tips for alignment of the head unit and the brackets to line everything up?
Also, how is that microphone location?
The microphone location isn't the best. I can't stand how obtrusive these remote mics look, so unfortunately I have to deal with it, but I would have run it up to the top of the "A" pillar with a cable extension in my next build. As far as spacing... its trial and error. Ill say that a head unit without a CD/DVD is much more shallow and way easier to install. Today media is all via streaming / SD storage anyways, so consider a Media Double DIN with Android Auto
You couldn't start at the beginning?? Shouldn't the first thing be "this is how we remove the center bezel"?
I can do a video showing you how to pull on the bezel to remove it. Honestly, this was more centered around the double din (which wasn't possible before this kit without extensive work). I wouldn't recommend anyone who doesn't know the basics around the Jeep console to attempt this install until you are more comfortable.
Is that just using the stereo's Pre-Amp? Pretty damn impressive sound if so.
It's a great head unit the Sony, but we do have a single 12 with a Crunch 1000w in the back.
How about dispensing with the President cartoons and frivolity, and just show the install, ESPECIALLY the CUTS You had to make!

You didn't have to trim the vent lines to make it fit? Also I'm assuming you bought a double din aftermarket cover.
Yes! Metra now makes a kit. Easy peasy. No trimming really necessary.
