Metallica invited different artists from different genres to do covers of their favorite songs from the Black album. Metallica did not want straight covers. They wanted songs reimagined. Only the lyrics were to remain the same. Alessia Cara and The Warning were invited to participate. This version along with others was included on the Black List album which was released on the 30th anniversary of the Black album. This version was imagined, recorded, edited and produced in just 10 days. Remarkable. There was also a video done by The Warning of this song. Really well done. Haunting.
And out of all the various other covers of enter sandman (Weezer also did one for instance) Metallica chose the warning to be track #1 😮

To make this happen he also had to include Alessia Cara on their version and make sure that her name would be placed first. But he did it somehow. 🤣
Wasn't the only song on the album that was taken apart and re-imagined, like Metallica instructed? HaAsh's Unforgiven did it a little, by using mariachi band in place of the guitar solo.
My daughter was born the year this came out, so I was in my early thirties. These young ladies own this song now, absolutely amazing version.

@@MrsRealistic If you do that banger, keep in mind it was a private show, and the owner asked them to do Atlas Rise. It is the only time they ever played it live in front of an audience, and they was 13-16-18. It was the closer of a full 2 hour high energy set, and one of the longest songs they have ever done. That Whiskey video was my 2nd ever seen from them, and sold me. No tracks, just loud raw performance, dirty & gritty as it should be. Been an avid supporter ever since.
Okay better go for their closing number at the Whiskey A GoGo after a 2hour set they do Metallica's Atlas Rise ... Yeah it's awesome.. 🤘🎶✌️💥💥

Great reaction, for the Black List Album, Metallica demanded that the guest bands should cover the song but it could not be an identical copy of it, they had to create their own version and the girls of TW along with Alessia Cara (pop singer) made this beautiful cover, so much to the delight of the members of Metallica that they decided to make it the first song of the album

First I watched and listened to Evolve. Then Choke. Was blown away. Then I watched this version of Enter Sandman, and realized, holy shit,this is no fluke. This is the best band out there right now. This whole concert at Teatro Metropolitan is amazing. Every song is great.

The impressive thing now is they don't even play it in their setlist anymore, they didn't use the cover as a crutch, just a bit of a door opener perhaps. Now it's all Warning all the time!
I think the idea is they put it in the set when they're playing for crowds that don't know them. It always kills with those crowds.
I can't even imagine the pressure The Warning was under with this, re-imagine a iconic song, for the original artist, with a collaborator who they have never met, and oh yeah, you have ten days to get it done! Absolute Rockstars!
This is one of their performances that can consistently give me chills. The absolute (pardon the phrase) balls on these women to transform an iconic masterpiece. Then the utter perfection of the live version… those harmonies! (chefs kiss)
Although the cover that went viral was what started their career for good, and it's really interesting to see how three girls sounded so great, it certainly seems to me that this homage is out of category. It's hard sometimes to understand how this power trio have such a full sound.
The official version with Alessia Cara is also brilliant, especially for the vocal contrast.

This entire Teatro Metropolitan concert blew my mind apart a year ago when first seeing it... Jesus... Perhaps the best entire set I've seen in my 60 years on Planet Earth. Unbelievable that's all y'all.

Great reaction! I'm a 68 yr old Rock &Roller, I stumbled onto The Warning a couple of years ago and I was hooked from the first song, it was Choke. The new LP, Keep Me Fed, releases in June, it's been literally decades since I've looked this much forward to a record. Also check out the all girl group, Band Maid and their song Hate (live version). They are playing with The Warning sometime this year in Japan.
The last time I had an album release date burned into my brain was Metallica black album 30+ years ago.

Yes, you should react to the 2014 cover of ES. These girls, like most bands, got their start by covering great songs. The difference is, they try to be exact with the cover, as close to the original as possible. From Sweet Child to Pretender, Hysteria to Crazy Train...they are amazing. They changed Enter Sandman at the request of Metallica, for their charity 30th Anniversary Black List album. "Change the songs from the original album, do anything you want, just don't change the lyrics". Out of 53 artists invited to participate, The Warning and Alessia Cara were the only ones that had the guts to try to change such an ICONIC song as Enter Sandman. In doing so, they made it their own.
You got it right my darling - single dad, with two daughters in their 20's now. Brought up on proper rock! I showed these to my girls when The Warning were doing the pretender by the Foo Fighters about nine years ago! I'm finally going to see them live this Sunday (21st April) in Birmingham, UK and can't wait - the excitement is overwhelming, hahah. Thanks for the reaction, love your channel. When Dany and Pau were 8 and 6 (Ale was 3) they got the Rock Band Video Game and that is what started the wheels turning in their heads. They also did a standard cover of Enter Sandman in 2014 (they were 14, 12 and 9) that went viral (25M).

The girls from The Warning became famous with their cover of Enter Sandman When They Were Little Girls. They played songs for personal entertainment, and they recorded the covers of the songs they played on video and uploaded them to a RUclips account that they had. So that their grandparents could see them play.
But someone saw the video and shared it and in a very short time it already had more than 7 million views. And at that moment The Warning was born. And right now that video has 25 million views. I recommend you Enter Sandman cover when they were little girls ♥♥♥

Fun fact: Metallica contacted them to do this for the Blacklist album but they only had one week to get it done. Oh one other thing, this was track one on the album set. There are a shit ton of covers and theirs is first. Just coincidence? I don't think so.

The extra backup vocals are from Alesia Cara 🇨🇦. They co-wrote and produced this song with Alesia, from 2 different countries during the pandemic, at the request of Metallica, for the 30th anniversary Blacklist album. The Warning always include her vocals when they perform the song live.

Aloha MrsR, rest assured you are not alone in the imposter thing. It is rampant. Allow me to explain a little history of this version of ES. Metallica invites Alessia Cara to contribute a song to their 30th anniversary of the The Black album, and because The Warning had recently signed with LAVA/Republic Records, these 4 ladies have the same management...I'm not totally clear but Ms Cara and The Warning were put in touch with each other and they decided to do a new version of ES. This is during Covid, so Ms Cara was recording her contribution to the song via long distance in Canada and The Warning produced everything else in their home town of Monterrey. They all say it took them 10 days to conceptualize, compose, record the song and shoot the music video. Glad to have you on this journey with the rest of TWA! Salud! #APDVillaReality
Could they do a straight cover? Of course, they did that as kids and it has over 25 million views here on RUclips. Instead of doing what they already did, they did what Metallica asked. They took a rock anthem they loved and they created a masterpiece. When I think Enter Sandman now, I think of The Warning’s version. Great reaction! I’m happy there wasn’t any water in this one!

Being an on an off singer/drummer in bands since 1976, these amazing women have blown my mind in their style and headfast "sticking to it" attitude.
Obviously they have awesome family values and parents who work behind the curtain of their lives and live shows.
I wish for the best for the whole family while they hopefully enjoy this amazing ride of growing success.

The studio version of this (ft. Alessia Cara) ended up being the opening song on the Blacklisted tribute album. So all three Notth Amercan countries were involved, the Warning ( Mexico) and Cara (Canada) together on a tribute album to Metallica (USA).
How cool! I didn't know she was Canadian! My husband always bugs me when I tell him about bands or actors who are from Canada 😆 I'm like, hey, it's cool when people from a scarcely populated country break into the US audience! I'm allowed to be proud 🤣

Yeah, the first track on Metallica's Blacklist album, a 30th anniversary of the legendary black album, where they asked a bunch of artists to cover their favorite songs from that album. And The Warning is the opener. They have certainly put their own TW spin on it, it's so different that i kinda consider it a TW original. The 2014 version was the one that got them noticed so to speak, as far as I know, it was only meant for the family to see, but the file was too big to email, so they uploaded it to RUclips, and the rest is history, as they say.

metallica loved their young version of enter sandman that they had them do there own spin off of the sond on a 30th anniversary compilation of the black album called The Metallica Blacklist its got tons of artist even weezer that did there own covers of Metallica songs and this version of the warning was recorded with Metallica for that album it was awesome
