Ale is a member of the Specter family, her bass is a US made 5 string from the New York shop. She had input on the finish she wanted and it came out "Ale's Inferno'. Many of their songs start with just bass intro or bass and drums. Welcome to The Warning Army. Liked and subbed, keep going, you won't be disappointed.

Yes, Ale plays a Spector. This was a custom made exclusively for her by Spector, as she is a featured Spector artist. She designed the finish, which Spector called “Ale’s inferno”. Ale has her own signature model of Spector as well.
Edit: here is a video of Spector delivering the bass. Ale was 15 years old at the time (Or close enough to 15). She has been a featured artist from the age of 13.

@@TheDunadan01 You can order any of their basses with "Ale's Inferno". It's the name of the color, and not a name of a bass model.
Roy Wall's comment about Ale having her own signature model is not really true. That project has not been finished yet.

Ale is the youngest and quietist of the trio, she is a great bassist and the fan base gets excited anytime she stands out as she happily chooses to be in the backround most of the time. Mystery always produces curiousity. It is important to remember that she has been composimg the bass ines for the groups origianl songs since she was a preteen and with a Trio the ability of each member to compose the fills used in the performance of songs always makes them stand out. I subscribed as I can not imagine anyone who loves bsss as much as you not wanting to explore this groups catalogue.

Welcome to The Warning! 3 sisters that just don't know how to write a band song! All three of them can sing lead, even though Dany the guitarist is the main lead singer. Pau on the drums sings lead on some of their songs like this one, and other times Dany and Pau take turns like in Disciple. Pau is amazing (they all are, of course) in that she can belt out powerful vocals while pounding away on the drums and remain perfectly constant and on pitch. She is part of a rare breed of drummers, and practices by singing while running on a treadmill. They are really good at composing, arranging, and writing lyrics to create varied and impactful songs with great riffs and melodies.
Alejandra on the bass has been a featured Spector artist since she was 15, and has a custom NS-5 (I do believe, please TWA correct me if I'm wrong). Paco_granados posted a link of her receiving it a few years ago. She's truly incredible as a bassist and has been described as a human metronome. Her sisters plays off of her timing and it contributes to their very tight sound as a band. Hope you decide to check out more songs from them, and we say in TWA: You Have Been Warned!

Brian Bogovic made a custom light show for these 2 Teatro shows, and each song has it's own design. He returns this month to do the lighting for three major shows across Mexico, ending at a sold out Pepsi Center in CDMX.
    Something else?
Short and sweet banger... "Dull Knives", this same concert.
Longer and showcases both singers, instrumentation by all... "Survive" last song on 2017 Ted Talk, or this same concert.

Instantly opened the vid as I am a fan of both TW and your analysis videos. I'd recommend Money and Z, simple but groovy songs, great bass and drum coherency; Evolve and Disciple have that more agressive sound and Ale's basslines drive the song super well but their last album Error is a great album overall, I'd recommend giving it a proper listen from start to end, it flows well and the bass tone there is super heavy and crunchy.

They have a superb team. They're able to attract top notch people; their sound person (Lalo Plaza) joined up when he was impressed by their work ethic.
For the lighting for this show (and its companion three days prior), they hired Halestorm's lighting director. They had toured twice with Halestorm last (2022) summer and were very impressed with his work. Most of their headline shows are much smaller and they just use house lights, but this was a special one at a 3000 seat venue in Mexico City. They're playing an even larger venue at the end of this month, the Pepsi Center, which holds 6000 or 8000 people, and I'm sure will have really spectacular lighting.
Dany (guitar) sings about 75% of the leads while Pau sings the remaining 25%. They have several songs with split vocal leads. Ale rarely sings lead. She has two lines in Choke (Dany sung them on the album, but Ale sings them lead because Dany can't leap down from the top of her range to the bottom quickly enough). She will occasionally sing lead if Dany needs a rest; in Toronto in August she sung Red Hands Never Fade and Hunter, which are two of their songs that fit in her range, but she does not like singing lead. She sings backing vocals aplenty, typically the low harmony, although in Sinister Smiles she sings high harmony in falsetto.
If you want to see Pau unleashed, watch Narcisista from this show where Beto Ramos, one of her mentors, plays the drums. This, one of their two songs in Spanish, is a mainstay of their headlining sets, and Pau is perfectly capable of playing the drums (and acting out the mocking of some critics in Mexico who weren't thrilled that they were singing in English).
Other songs I think you'll enjoy are Disciple (bass opening), Z (bass opening, plus pay attention to what she does when Dany plays a rare shredding solo), Evolve (solo line in the bridge -- listen to the VMA version), Queen of the Murder Scene (Ale takes over when Dany solos), Hunter (bass opening). I think you'll enjoy most if not all of their catalogue, actually, but as you are particularly interested in the bass, these are good starting points.

Been Following The Warning for a couple of years now. great Live band, can hugely recommend the full Live at "Teatro Metropólitan concert thats on their page think at this moment their best songs from this show arethe song Z straight into Animosity (Ale plays with a pick on the latter one. wich hasnt happend often that she uses a pick, much rather she uses finger picking style as it suits her more) then Kool aid kids. just that bass groove is just something you should really hear. then one off the last songs off the show Narcicista their first spanish song they wrote, think they wrote this one while they were on tour for the Queen off the murder scene album. Special treat here is seeing Pau as a frontwoman free from her drumkit as her Drum teacher Beto Ramos does the drums for this song. Other then that so much more songs i could recommend for various reasons.

Hopefully you would be willing to react to a vocalist, who has a remarkable lower register for a young lady. Angelina Jordan is a self taught jazz vocalist, who can sing almost anything. Ale, the bass player, is a musical prodigue (the same as her older sisters🤣) featured Spector artist since she was 13 years old, and playing at big festivals since she was 11 years old. Their first album was released when Ale was in 4th grade!
She can sing lead, play piano and saxophone, her timing is perfect (she's called by her sisters "the human metronome") and she has also perfect pitch.
She's a machine playing bass, if you can hear two or three wrong notes in a whole concert from her, you would be lucky.

I could be wrong but when people say perfect pitch others generally assume they meant singing with perfect pitch.
Ale has publicly stated that’s one of the reasons she doesn’t like to sing lead because she’s a perfectionist and hates going off pitch when she tries to push her vocals as a lead.

I could recommend a bunch of songs from this concert but to me the songs 'Z' and 'Evolve' plus a lot more come to mind. They also performed 'Evolve' and 'More' on the 2023 MTV VMA's and they blew the house down. The Warning have a deep rabbit hole as they are sisters and have been playing together since 2014 as a band. Their cover of 'Enter Sandman' when they were young went viral and is what got them started. You should check that out to see how young they were and how great they played.

These girls definitely know how to put on a show, especially in their home country at larger venues like this one. They are great live - period. Ale (ah-lay) the bassist shines and is brought forward in many of their songs. Her bass lines are really inventive as she was trained at a young age with jazz/funk influences from her instructor Pablo González Sarre. Dany, guitarist is the lead vocalist of the band, with Pau (POW) drummer singing a handful of songs in their catalog of nearly 50 songs now. She is also the primary songwriter, though all of the sisters are involved in each others parts with arrangements, harmonies and lyrics.

I saw them in Cincinnati in August. What you said about Paulina “Pau” Villarreal being a drumming frontwoman is spot on. She is every bit the frontwoman that guitarist, usual lead singer, and oldest sister Daniela “Dany” Villarreal is. Youngest sister Alejandra “Ale” Villarreal is the bass player and rarely sings more than backing vocals though I suspect she has the widest range of the three sisters. They all can play piano, too.

Oh yeah, I agree with your assumption about Ale's range. I think right now she's biding her time for her voice to change a bit more as it matures and then I hope she'll(they'll) start writing more parts for her to take the lead(TWA is hoping so.) Further, they all three have commented on the fact that Ale is the only one who has perfect pitch and Pau and Dany also commented that they never worry too much if the click track they play to goes out because Ale is a metronome! She keeps them in time and shoots them looks on stage to let them know when they get out of time!😅 She is an alien from the same planet as Pau with her ability to sing and drum(she sings her parts running on a treadmill for fun and breath control practice!😮) DPA/TW they're the real deal! They'll rule the world one day and I'm jazzed about that!🤘

This band is very bass driven. But the bass isn't at the front. Ale lays down the foundation & provides the primary rythm (not drums) for the songs. She does what she can so her sisters can shine. You should really do a deep dive/analysis into her compositions. They are a masterclass in using the bass to drive the song fwd but only playing what is necessary for the song. One of my favorite vids that no one ever reviews is their official video for "XXI st Century Blood". VERY INSIGHTFULL for a group so young!!

Dust to Dust is a pretty simple song (it was written around the bass line) but the menacing tone of the riff, Pau's vocals beckoning you to listen and beware, and that killer belt from Dany at the end help set this up as a strong intro to an incredible concept album.

Ah, yes, Las Hermanas Villareal! Ale is the baby of the band (18!) and she is a really commanding player. All three of them are strong players and the chemistry they have is just plain unstoppable. The dynamics near the end are fantastic! I also love how their songs get in, make their point, and get out without overstating their case or overstaying their welcome. Another great bass line of Ale's is "Z", I'd recommend for you to listen to.

One thing I love about Ale’s playing is that she is rock solid. Yes, she has chops. Yes, she puts in little runs and flourishes here and there, but more than anything, she is CONSISTENT and provides a bulletproof foundation on which the others can shine.

A few things I would recommend to follow up on your phenomenal comments and insight.
    1. Recent VMA award appearance with two songs, Evolve, and More. This was within the past month and probably some of the best performances of their career.
    2. Black holes, sung by PAU the drummer, also written by her about addiction. At the Dakota bar 2018. Awesome display of passion and emotion. Hear the drummer is now a keyboard player!
    3. TEDx talks, 2018. This was 5 years ago and they present two songs off of their first album and also speak with the audience with complete inspiration. Great insight into their character.
    4. Documentary about the lives of the warning members. Tidal Rising.
    5. After the above, any song from their concert a year ago 2022 at Teatro metropolitan. Great sound and video production.
All of these make great reactions and are away for you to get to know the band. Peace.

I'm sure others have already said it, but Pau (drummer) is not the main lead singer - just on a few songs. Dani (guitarist) is the power vocalist. Pau does well as a singing drummer because she's just chaos and raw energy incarnate.

    Fantastic observations Mark!
The Villarreal Velez sisters are amazing songwriters and performers from Mexico who live in Monterrey, San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight over her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards.
Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI CENTURY BLOOD", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards.
Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "ESCAPE THE MIND"; and it is amazing.
Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage.
After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020.
They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called "MAYDAY" October 8th, 2021. The entire album was released June 24th, 2022: called "ERROR". "Disciple" is my favorite track!
They have just recently finished recording their 4th studio album. No word on a release date or name.
The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock.
Both parents are professionals (recording engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English Bilingual school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico.
They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old.
Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC.
When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. Shortly thereafter they got real instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 23, 21 and 18 years old and have already written, arranged, and released #46 original songs.
I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. I had the opportunity to meet with them 3 more times during the 10 shows I attended on their 2022 North American MAYDAY Tour and 2023 ERROR WORLD TOUR.
Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans.
🗣 Thank you for all your support!
    👊🤓🍿

They play confidently because they've been a band for nearly 11 years by now. Also, they had to take time off for the pandemic and used the time well to develop their act and write material, as well as lining up a record deal involving production help as well as several tours where they both were opening acts for huge artists as well as having concerts of their own. They don't know how to take anything like a real vacation. LOL

It will leave you speechless with such musical quality, with such good hard rock that corresponds to the 3rd. album released by TW called "Error" and also something from their previous album that is a gem, a masterpiece, its tremendous concept album called
    "Queen Of The Murder Scene"
and of course its live version is also better.

Ale is credited as the only writer on this song. Normally it is all three. I think she was 12/13yrs when she wrote it. So it was a good first choice of TW songs as a base player.
All three play classical piano since toddlers and Ale and Dany learning the Sax at school. Her sisters call Ale the human metronome and take most of their cues of Ale (Al-lay) instead of Pau (Pow).

Great reaction and analysis. New sub. love that we have a bass player recognizing Ale’s great talent. most reactors are immediately drawn to Pau, the drummer, which is understandable and Dany generally sings lead, so she’s often the center of attention as well. Ale is the youngest and usually quite content letting the other two be in the spotlight while she lays down the head banging groove

    Your brother Jeff is right.
Ale is my favorite, behind my own brother (also named Mark). She’s not only an amazing bassist but also an incredible musician overall. Her soft voice compliments her sisters’ powerful voice. Almost similar to the famous Jane’t sisters. Think similar to JoAnna.
The first three videos I watched I thought the drummer was the lead singer. I believe it’s actually the guitarist. The drummer is one to come in to add some major energy or to get the crowd standing. The guitarist sings lead most of the time and carries such a high level of enthusiasm the entire time. Then when Ale sings, it’s that smooth sound over that powerful bass that really tops everything off. And she has such a cool stage presence.
