If you went through their catalog, it is apparent that their sound is basically classic hard rock with elements of punk, pop, grunge, and even some metal. The sound is familiar but unique. First band I went to see live in 40 years.

Michael, thanks for your reaction. I am 65 years old and while I still love the rock I grew up with, The Warning have become my all time favorite band. Currently they are ages 24, 22 and 19, with their 4th album due on June 28th. I LOVE every song from their first 3 albums. They write lyrics, often warning the world of problems they see in today's world. They deliver their messages with music, which I find has an infectious sound. I also love how every one of their songs sounds different, using many of the genres of rock that preceded them.

Why exactly TW like a lot of 60 to75 years old folks??? Why this specific age target? It's not 40s or 30s is specifically 60 to 75. I'm curious about that bcoz all of their fans in anglo countries are from this age. Maybe is something that remember the music of 70s decade or something. Why for example bands like Foo Fighters that are rock stadium not appel to this age group? Or maybe those grandpas look the girls like their grandughters and they look tiny and innocent or something ha ha ha ??? It's very strange. I'm curious....could you tell me?

@@jimenaandrade3283 In my case, I didn't pay attention to new bands from the mid 80's until the pandemic in 2020. Life was just too busy and I only listened to the music of my youth from the 60's and 70's. I stumbled across a video by Angelina Jordan in March 2020 and that got me spending lots of time on RUclips. Shortly thereafter, I learned of The Warning and became a huge fan.

@@jimenaandrade3283 I do not think they target anyone. They play music they love. And old guys happen to like that music. And, I also think older guys generally like when musicians make music they love. Today, everything is so planned and you need to consider what will be the best choice. Boring! You will seldom make good music that way. In 200% of the times you make good music by making music you love. But today's younger people do not seem to understand that, they want to plan success. That is not how you get good. That is how you get bored.
When I was young I listened to lots of kind of music, be it Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel or Cream or Jimi Hendrix or Frank Zappa or Bob Dylan or Bach. The genre was not all that important. The important thing was that it was good. And the Warning is simply good. They know what they are doing and they love it. Personally I gravitate against Japanese all female bands right now. They also seem to have fun and know what they are doing.

Thanks Michael. This is obviously not their most guitar centric song, but your statement about stadium rock is well taken. The Warning have written, and continue to write songs that are designed to be played live - that's what they love. Also, the ACDC reference is not an insult as ACDC is one of the first bands they did covers of when they first started (they started when they were just kids with their dad uploading videos to youtube for their grandparents to see). They're big fans of AC/DC! Their parents (yes, they're SISTERS) played them concert videos of AC/DC, Queen, Pink Floyd, etc. when they were super young. They also played Rock Band and all took piano lessons. They each naturally gravitated to their instruments: Daniela ("Dany") to guitar, Paulina ("Pau", rhymes with "Pow") to drums, and the youngest, Alejandra ("Ale", pronounced Ah-leh') on bass. Their dad transformed their basement into a quasi-studio ("The Warning Cave") and posted RUclips videos of them covering Metallica, GNR, Muse, etc. so their grandparents could see them. This was when they were ages 14, 12, 9. A cover of Enter Sandman went viral (Kirk Hammett even commented "that drummer kicks maximum ass"), they played "Crazy Train" on the Ellen DeGeneres show, and got checks from Ellen & Target Stores to attend a summer camp at Berklee in Boston (Pau and Ale had to audition for acceptance, being so young).
Since then they've recorded 2 LPs and an EP independently, and signed with Lava/Republic (Lorde, Greta Van Fleet) in 2020. "Choke" was the lead video from their Lava debut album "ERROR", but the pandemic caused them to cancel a planned 2020 tour. They have a second Lava record, "Keep Me Fed", dropping on June 28, and have released five songs and videos from it so far: "More", "S!CK", "Hell You Call A Dream", "Automatic Sun", and one Spanish song "Que Mas Quieres" ("What More Do You Want").
Suggestions for your next Warning song to explore would be the live video for Hell You Call A Dream, their explosive MTV VMAs performance of "Evolve", or the narrative video for "Que Mas Quieres", which was story-boarded and co-directed by Paulina!

They are a fantastic band, and very tight in a live setting. They mix their live recordings quite well and I generally prefer them over studio because they just have a great energy. I really enjoy Dany's guitar playing. I've learned a bunch of her parts and they are a really great mix of rhythm and lead parts played to compliment the song. She seldom solos but does have the chops to do so. You picked up on what they do best which is hard rock kept simple and tight as a 3-piece really warrants. No clutter, no emptiness. They strike that balance extremely well while bringing in influences from all over the place, pop, J-rock, metal, K-pop, etc. I think my personal favorite from this album is Martirio, one of their few spanish songs. It is truly the ultimate stadium anthem rock song. They do it at this same concert and it's just fantastic.

Welcome to The Warning. Great that you decided to grab thsi one from the list. The Warning Army welcomes you to what we believe is the future of rock & roll - The Warning - Three sisters from Monterey Mexico who started playing together when they were children and who have now been making great hard music for more than a decade. With three studio albums, several live concert videos, and a new album on the way (to be released June 28), we think there is plenty of material for you to choose from. They were independent for the first two albums (Kickstarter and crowd-funded), but are now signed to Lava/Republic records.
    This three-piece is:
Daniela (Dany, 24yo, guitar and PRS artist)
Paulina (Pau, as in POW-er, 22yo, drums)
Alejandra (Ale, pronounced AH-lay, 19yo, bass and Spector Signature Artist)
All three sisters sing and all are classically trained on piano.
Many of us feel that live is their magic sauce. Sounds as though you are like many of us old rockers who have been waiting for something new. The Warning have a sound that is both new and familiar. It is certainly hard rock, but clearly influenced by their love of classic rock (including AC/DC), metal, punk, K-pop, indie, grunge, funk, and many other genres including classical music. But they have taken those influences and forged a sound that is uniquely their own, and you know that it is them. Pretty straight-forward, but as you said, well executed.
What does it sound like to me? Refreshing. A sound that has caught my ear and made me interested in rock again after 25+ years of the same old playlist. While together their combined ages are about the same as many of us fans, their musical maturity is exceptionally high.
Need another suggestion? From The Warning’s RUclips page you might choose from:
    - MORE or EVOLVE from the MTV VMAs
    - DISCIPLE, ANIMOSITY, 23, or any other song from their 2022 show at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX (aka Mexico City)
    - The official music video for XXI CENTURY BLOOD
    - SURVIVE from their 2017 TedX talk
    - The official music video for their new releases S!CK or Que Mas Quieras (in Spanish)
    - Their most recent live new release from 2023 Pepsi Center of Hell You Call A Dream
There are really no bad choices. They are something special live. Their energy, charisma, and musicality really shine when in front of an audience. In the past two years I have flown all over North America and seen them 7 times (have tickets for shows in the UK and Ireland this summer). Can’t wait for the chance to travel and see them again. The only other band I have traveled like this for in more than 40 years of concert going was Rush.

The 3 Villareal sisters are from Monterrey, Mexico and have been around for 10 years. Their 4th album is due out on the 21st of June, called "Keep me fed." They got recognized when their Dad recorded them doing a cover of Enter Sandman by Metallica on RUclips, 10 years ago. Later, they were invited by Metallica to redo Enter Sandman, by making it their own version. Then that version was put on the 30th Anniversary of Metallica's Black List album. They're names are: Daniella or Dany (singer/guitarist), Paulina or Pau (drums/vocals), and Alejandra or Ale (bass/vocals). They were fortunate enough to attend Berklee School of Music thanks to Ellen and Target in 2015 and sucked up every thing they were taught and we are seeing the proof of that ever since... their understanding of music theory and how to write a good song to get you hooked and plant the ear worm to make you want more is amamzing, and its not a 1 and done.. no its every song they put out. A nuanced, and I feel accurate, response to this song -- so thanks, Michael. Your specific comment about the focus on minor pentatonic riffs in this song does, in my opinion, align with the majority of their songs that I've heard so far (about a dozen). Where I believe the magic is happening is in how they create raw powerful riffs that have an elegant sophistication in expression. These three women have a greater musical maturity than their web presence might suggest -- not to mention their actual young age.

That was a cool reaction with your analysis! That band has an incredible knack for connecting with their audience and I can't find a bad song in their catalog. Live/on-stage is where it is at with them. They are at their best when you get both the audio and visual performance.

You desciphered the magic: the best analysis I've heard about their songwiting structure:
"It's the perfect stadium big Rock and Roll band formula, it's it's big driven grooves, not busy guitars. You're taking esentially pop but minor oriented pop chord progressions played in power chords in unison for the most part and you have a constant commitment to a singable pentatonic melody over and over again, that goes up and down so that everybody in the stadium can sing and gets caught in their heads, in their ears. That's what I'm seeing. Great execution". 👏🏼👏🏼 Clap, clap

I remember seeing your video clip of (EDDIE AND THE CRUISERS 2) where Eddie is teaching the other guy it's not all about the crazy shredding on guitars, Like Eddie says you got to let it breath. I have to say it's been about 4yrs that I have been WARNED after discovering (THE WARNING) Many say (DANNY) Doesn't do a lot of solos in there songs but when she does you feel the passion and care and respect they give to the song so that fans can put there own feelings and emotion into the song as they listen. Best song to see this comparison is (when I'm alone) live at TEDX live at the university of Nevada, and ( show me the light) live at Dakota bar.

It is always appreciated when things are done well and you have done the same in this reaction, thank you.
    Daniela, Paulina and Alejandra...
    The Warning.
They have nothing to do with other inflated and artificially marketed bands around the world.
They are the youngest veteran artists in the world of rock.
Metallica, Foo Fighters, Def Leppard, Guns 'N' Roses and Muse are just some of the famous bands that have been very pleasantly surprised by TW's talented proposal, as well as all those fans who have sold out their concerts in the United States, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Argentina...
In addition to Germany, Spain, France, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom.
No, I'm not talking about the rock festivals, where they were also very successful, but where they headlined and were the main attraction.
Muse was so impressed with the young ladies who opened their concerts in Mexico, that they invited them to continue with them on their tour of Europe and even in their own country, the United Kingdom.
It's redundant to say, but they were also very successful.
Among TW's fans are musicians, music producers, sound engineers, roadies, vocal coaches, music critics, etc., from all over the world.
In addition, and no less important, they are the first Latin American band to sign with a top-level international record label (UNIVERSAL MUSIC).
And just to mention it superficially, what happened at the MTV VMAs was spectacular, as they impressed (impacted) the production staff and everyone who witnessed it very positively, the Director exclaimed at the end of "Evolve":
    "... Holly Shit, I'm a fan now!! ..."
And the others in production let the girls know this, but he himself had already told them personally just after finishing their performance and there is evidence of all this on video.
Around the world, budding rock groups are covering the band, including Asia and Australia.
And all this is being done by Dany, Pau and Ale being very young and on their own merits, with discipline and professionalism.
What they didn't do was to stagnate only in the field of rock in their own language, which is the "ceiling" in which other Spanish-speaking groups have always been limited... Or that they have failed.
It's such a talented all-female band that they don't "exploit" their sexuality, they are educated, humble and very good human beings with a truly exemplary attitude.
This year in recent days they performed as headliners in several European countries where several venues sold out and even had to change venues for others with greater capacity.
And they will also perform at the "Wacken Open Air" 2024 in Germany, the most important metal festival and at the "Pol'and'Rock" festival in Poland, which is considered the biggest music festival in Europe and they will be there on the main stage.
This summer they will go to Japan where they have 3 dates and on the first day they will have a collaboration with the local band Band-Maid which is generating great expectations and is very justified.
They will be part of the Evanescence and Halestorm tour and will also open for Avril Lavigne.
For now I'm subscribing to your channel because I hope to see many reactions from you to my favorite band of all time.
Thanks and greetings from México!! 🇲🇽
    🤘😁✌️

They already have 3 fantastic albums to date and have just released 5 songs from their upcoming 4th album, "Keep Me Fed" due on June 28th. Every Warning sound has their distinct feel yet every song sounds like it was composed from a different musical universe than the last one. You'll use a Muse comparison in the next song, Foo Fighters after that, Metallica, Paramore, and ever on. The through line is simple and clear to the ear, but they are constantly adding spices: the drums go syncopated tribal halfway through the verse, the bass takes the lead so the guitar can play atmospheric chimes, then the next verse the guitar plays a lead counter melody for half a verse: they are always varying their repetition, always mixing up doubling up rhythms for impact or playing three complementary ones for complexity (but never disturbing the main through line whilst doing so!). Their composition is masterful.
