The Warning will be playing a concert in Berlin at the Hole44 on next week's wednesday! I'm looking forward very much to finally being able to witness them and their music in person! :)
This version starts out as a lullaby and just gets angrier and angrier! This is on Metallica's 'Blacklist' album.
One of the best lady band in the world I can say, keep it up!!!
This remake that was arranged and recorded in ONE week for the Metallica Blacklist album is a true work of art!
Of course, part of why they were able to pull this together in 7 days is that The Warning had been playing the original arrangement of the song together for 7+ years.
@@zonachoke I agree that they were very familiar with ES long before this remake. Where I disagree is that a note for note cover that has been done by countless bands did not give all those others the talent level necessary to compose this masterpiece. This remake is special.

A search of RUclips turns up a few videos of the event. It’s clear Dany was overwhelmed.
As it happens, James Hetfield played a black version of that model, a Gibson Explorer, in the Moscow concert. I think a video is available on YT.

Hey Noelle - glad you are checking out this performance. Any of The Warning live videos from Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City (CDMX) are worth watching. I would also love to get your thoughts on their newest song, "More" that came out within the past two weeks. It has a different sound entirely. Hopefully you'll get to see this group soon as they head to Europe in just a few days to open for Muse and then tour.
They did this song in collaboration with Canadian pop singer Alessia Cara (who figures more prominently in the official music video) for the Metallica Blacklist album. Their instructions from Metallica were to take the song, turn it upside down and inside out, and make it their own. They accomplished that in 1 week. 👍😎
They will be in Berlin on May 31, June 3rd , June 4th in other two cities don't miss it maybe we can see a Cobra Spell /The Warning show in the future!!!

Hi Noelle. I saw The Warning 5 days ago in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA and they blew the roof off of the venue. They did a fantastic job showcasing their "Error" album, interweaving their older hits in between. I'm so glad I got to see these young ladies early in their career. I'm 68 years old and it's been a long time since I've been as excited about a band. By the way, I love Cobra Spell and have both of your EP's. You are a wonderful addition to the band and look forward to great things for both Cobra Spell and The Warning. Bravo!

Great Reaction Noelle! Their version kind of breathed new life into this older song. Love it! The Warning are headed to Europe on May 27 for a show in Plymouth, England, then they are off to Germany for 3 shows. The first is in Berlin on May 31 and then they play twice in Nurnberg, June 3 at Rock im Park and on June 4 at Rock am Ring. After that they are touring around Europe until June 26.
I actually prefer this version to the original, the Vocal harmonies make it so much cooler!
They will be playing June 3 - Rock Im Ring Festival - Nurnberg, Germany and June 4 - Rock Am Ring Festival - Nurburgring, Germany. Love the reaction. The Gibson Explorer that Dany is playing here was a gift from Halestorm's Lzzy Hale. Lzzy presented the custom guitar mid The Warning set last summer when they were on tour together. Dany thought she just got to borrow Lzzy's guitar. Lzzy told her after the set that it was hers. Dany usually plays PRS guitars.

I hope you get to see the warning live, they are playing two festivals in Germany in about a week, including headlining a concert in Berlin on the 31st.
I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Alessia Cara very sweetly puts you to bed, then Dany rouses the troups, shares a little prayer, and the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the tale. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one. Glad you enjoyed this remake.

I prefer The Warning's version of this classic song. I just saw The Warning in New Orleans and have a video, on my channel, for all 3 times I have had the pleasure to experience them live.

The drummer did some of the backing vocals but I believe in this case the higher part was the bass player. Sometimes it is hard to tell. Ale can go up and down closer to Dany as in Z or closer to Pau as desired. Ale hasn't really developed it much but she is one of those people with perfect pitch and metronome timing. Her sister Pau says it's scary at times.

Bless you - only just caught up with your reaction. I saw them live for the first time last month (April 21st 2024). These girls certainly rock, and live, they're amazing. I'd go again right now if I could! They twisted a metal classic in to what could be considered a new song - yet, it still paid tribute to the original. I love it loads! ♥🤘
The Warning will be supporting Royal Blood in Nijmegan on June 5 and Amsterdam June 6. They also have a headlining show in Berlin on May 31 and later headline dates in Spain and London as well as several dates supporting Muse and festivals over next 30 days. You can see them live soon! It's worth it.
I consider this to be a TW original, and one of their absolute best at that.

Great reaction Noelle! I love how they broke down and recreated their version. Huge risk and absolutely beautiful results. You should watch the official music video too just to see it. Slightly different arrangement and includes Alessia Cara. The Warning live version is heavier but the video has a great, dark vibe a la Guillermo del Toro I think you’d really appreciate.
Another great reaction Noelle, it's always fun to see the reactions of people when they see this reimagined version by The Warning for the first time. I liked the music video with Alessia Cara, but I like this live version with just the band even more. We saw them last week in Charlotte NC and they absolutely killed it. The Warning is one of the best live bands I have ever seen. I have a question, and maybe you can tell us what you think. It's hard to find rock stations that play music by female rock musicians (around where I live at least). Do you guys have trouble getting your music played on radio stations? I have listened to most of Cobra Spell's music and you guys should have songs on the radio. Do you think female rock bands have a harder time being taken seriously than male rock bands? I always hear female musicians being judged by their appearance (how "hot" they are) but never male musicians. Seeing as how you are absolutely gorgeous, do you have problems with your appearance being rated over your skill as a musician?
This is "the real" Enter Sandman for me. I like the more melodic feel of this song, the variation in time signature used to such great effect, and of course, the vocal harmonies that are such a towering strength of Dany, Pau (you were correct, she sings the high harmony during Hush Little Baby), and Ale.
They did a really great version. I've been following them for a couple of months but I haven't heard them play a whole song yet. I was thoroughly impressed all around! I've been playing pro guitar for 12 years and they are so good together as a sister trio. Love their version. 🤘

You can see them live in 8 days on May 31 at Hole44 in Berlin. This version of Enter Sandman is not a cover it is an interpretation of the original song and the first song on the Blacklist album. Metallica actually complimented them on actually doing what they asked and making it their own. This version has already been in a video game and tv shows..would not be surprised if it was in a movie soundtrack soon. 😉
You should look into some of the songs where Pau takes lead vocals. To watch her pound the drums like they owe her money WHILE belting out those vocals is amazing.

Noelle, as a guitarist, you might appreciate that Dany switches from picking to finger-style a couple of times in this song, hiding the pick between her fingers and flipping it out again. Partway through the the prayer.

This rendition is on Metallica's Blacklist album and is thoroughly enjoyed by Metallica themselves. They originally collaborated with Alessia Cara to do this song as shown in their music video.

A song has 2 parts - music & lyrics. Most people prioritzes musicianship over what the band is saying. However both are important. Otherwise we will be having instrumental hits or jazz tunes. And in the profundity of their lyrics The Warning stands out from the rest. They are almost peerless in their intellectualism. So every song by these girls demands to be reviewed with lyrics & the back story, if any.
As others have pointed out you can review all the songs from this landmark concert at Metropolitan Theatre last August. The sequence being Animosity, Enter Sandman, Disciple, Choke, Money & Martirio. You have already done #2 here.
Regardiing Pau's background vocals in this song pasting below my comment from a few months back
"Saying it again - Paulina Villarreal has set the new gold standard of background vocals in this concert. How to amp up the power on top of the lead vocal at a higher scale; how to stay within the lead vocal as just a harmony without interfering; how to add layers of various intensity from a soothing harmony to all out belting as demanded by the song. What a performance!!!"
