This version originally was a collaboration with Alessia Cara and can be found on Metallica's Blacklist album as well as a music video on YT. Metallica asked a bunch of artists to pick a song from their Black album and more than just cover it, to reimagine whichever song they choose. All proceeds went to charity. Dany, acknowledges Alessia's contribution before each performance of this song and Alessia is part of a backing track singing "woas" that you can hear. They love her and she actually performed it live once in 2023 at the Troubadour in Los Angles. TW more recently in December of last year performed this song with a string section. There is only fan footage of that but hopefully a good audio of it may be released in the future. BTW, Metallica loved the new take on their song! FUN FACT: they also saw TW's original cover of Enter Sandman from 10 years ago when they were kids and also commented their approval at that time. 👑💖✨🔥⚡🚀🤘🏽

To ad to your comment: i read a comment back in 2022 from a Chilenian guy who told he was a music journalist in Chile and he went to a Metallica press conference and said that Metallica were asked if they were aware of the upcoming bands and if they thought any of those bands were going to be important ,they answer without hesitation The Warning is gonna be huge. (It was just a comment i read i was not there so i don't know if it was truth). Cheers!
I think Metallica is happy indeed. This is track #1 of their 30th anniversary Blacklist album. By the way, the ladies did this within a two weeks deadline from Metallica during the pandemic.

DPA/TW and Alessia Cara certainly understood the assignment! Alessia Cara is a Grammy winning Canadian Pop and R&B singer... they had 10 days to rip this rendition of *Enter Sandman* from the ether and make it a darker, more eerie, and a more haunting lullaby than the original metal version... this was done because they, and many other artists from numerous genres, were invited by Metallica to take one of the songs from the original "Black" album, keep the lyrics and change it up how ever you like... play it backwards, upside down, whatever... this was all for the 30th anniversary of the "Black" album... all the submissions from 50someodd artists were put on the 2021 "The Metallica Blacklist" album... the proceeds from the album sales are split 50/50 with half going to Metallica's "All Within My Hands Foundation" and the other half being donated to a charity of the participating artists' choice. in the OMV, Dany (guitar) and Alessia share the lead vocals until they are in the three doorways when Dany takes over and Alessia does more of the background oooohs and aaaahs... the version they play in concert has Dany doing the vocals with a backing track of Alessia's ohhhs and ahhhs... of course Ale (bass) and Pau (drums) join in with their angelic harmonies in both... this is a fantastic reimagining of the iconic original... this 60+ year old rocker loves both versions of *Enter Sandman* but this one by TW and Alessia gets more airtime these days 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

I just watched it (off camera). It was also good. A little different as you said. I liked the live better honestly, but I it could be because of the initial impact it made on me.
Enter Sandman is extremely important to them. It is part of who they are, where they came from. It's a Legacy song. There is other live versions as well. SirriusXm studio version, and the Live with Alessia joining them on stage in California. The best live is yet to come. They recorded 2 concert performances with an all female, 10 pc string orchestra!! 13 rocking ladies blew the roof off in front of 8000 fans. Metallica had great faith in The Warning, tasked them and Alessia Cara to rework Enter Sandman. Keep the lyrics, but to turn it upside down, backwards, inside out and make it their own. The Warning have also reworked Enter Sandman further where they are accompanied live on stage by a small string section of an orchestra. EVERYTHING in this performance at the Teatro Metropolitan is so flawless and perfect, it is like watching an epic blockbuster movie!
I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Dany very sweetly puts you to bed, then rouses the troops, shares a little prayer, the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the Sandman tale. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one.

Aaaand, this version is different yet again from the studio/video version with Alessia Cara that’s on Metallicas ‘Blacklist’ album (more Alessia & Pau does an awesome super-creepy version of the prayer). DPAs composing skills are next level.

Hey Roni! They did this song with Alessia Cara, who was invited by Metallica, specifically for the "Metallica Blacklist Album". It was the 30th anniversary of The Black Album, and Metallica invited 53 artist of all different genres to do their own interpretations of any song on the Black Album. Metallica's instructions were to turn the song inside out and upside down, just don't change the lyrics. Alessia Cara was invited and she shares the same International Management company as The Warning, and they suggested the collaboration. So, during Covid lockdown, Alessia Cara was in Toronto, working via Zoom with The Warning and producer Matt Squire in Monterrey, MX. They made this EPIC reimagination in 8 DAYS to make the publishing deadline to get on the album. It is actually TRACK 1 on the Blacklist Album. BTW, the Music Video is just as epic as this song! Two words: Future Legends!

They themselves explained that the process was, very ingenious and practical from my point of view, they deconstructed the original and with this made a pop version, then they repeated the steps transforming it back into rock, and... This song it's in the Metallica anniversary album to the Black Album, called the Black List with 52 other artists playing a Metallica Black Album song as tribute, and this version won the number one spot on the album....Metallica ask them to do what ever they wanted to do with the song, except making it exactly the same... the only band that did it differently and greatly done, the Ghost version was good, but too close to the original...
Thought I would pop in say hi. Seen The Warning live 3 times now. What a band. Check out a heavy metal band called Nemophila. Both these bands are my favorites at this time in my life.
I love this reimagining of this classic...I think they provide a master class on how to do it with their Blacklist version of Enter Sandman. Saving the main riff for the outro is brilliant! From the arrangement that turns the song into a haunting lullaby to Dany's ability to channel James so well, their version is an instant classic as well.
This was the best song on the Blacklist album. Most others were straight covers, but The Warning and Alessia Cara took Metallica's instructions to do anything they wanted with the music.
Lizzy Hale gifted that guitar to Dany during a live performance. Dany said she was expecting her next guitar to be ready for the next song but it wasn't there. She started to freak out, and then Lizzy came out and presented this guitar to her. Afterward, Dany thanked her for letting her borrow it. Lizzy, said, no, it's yours. Cool story.

There are covers, then there are COVERS! Been listening to rock music for well over 5 decades now and have heard many, many bands cover songs.This kicks ass! Some that come to mind, that fall into the latter category, are "All Along the Watchtower" by Jimi Hendrix, "The Sound of Silence," and "Land of Confusion" by Disturbed. Some that fall into the former are "No Matter What" by Def Leppard, "Come Together" by Aerosmith and Godsmack, "Live and Let Die" by Guns n Roses.

Have you seen TW’s 2014 cover of "Enter Sandman”. If not, it’s available on their RUclips channel. The description lists their ages at the time as 9, 12, and 14. Ale was so little, her bass was almost bigger than she was. Look at her now. Look at all them now. Worth a look at least, maybe a reaction.
This is one of my favorite TW songs, yes, I actually consider this a TW original. Sure, at the core this is still Metallica's Enter Sandman, but it's so rearranged by the girls, and it is their own composition. I know they are probably done with covers for the time being, since they are busy touring, and about to release their fourth studio album, but I'd love it if they made a cover album, with rerecordings of their old covers, including their original 2014 version of Enter Sandman, it would be cool to hear how it would sound now, with their current experience and skill level. Oh, and a full length version of Mötley Crüe's Kickstart My Heart of course, their old cover of it was sweet, but short.

Yes, Metallica is great, and it seems like I am in the minority, but I do actually love Load and Reload. Both from a musical standpoint (they are oozing atmosphere, and James' voice really fits the more bluesy sound), but also because those albums make me feel very nostalgic, I was in a different place, and a different state of mind back then. And I was younger, of course😆

Since 2017 I've been following The Warning, and I love ALL their music, their performance and the awesome humans beings that the Villarreal sisters are. The Troubadour show where Alessia Cara joined The Warning on stage was in May of 2022, not 2023. I was there.

Great job with your reaction and thoughts on this live performance cover of Enter Sandman From Metallic done here by The Warning .The harmonies sound incredible . l don't know if you remember who gave the guitar that Dany is playing during this performance if not it was Lizzy Hale from Halestorm . Pau didn't do the prayer in this live performance like in the video because it had something do by the way she was playing the drums.

This song it's in the Metallica anniversary album to the Black Album, called the Black List with 52 other artists playing a Metallica Black Album song as tribute, and this version won the number one spot on the album....Metallica ask them to do what ever they wanted to do with the song, except making it exactly the same... the only band that did it differently and greatly done, the Ghost version was good, but too close to the original...

I love this reimagining of this classic...I think they provide a master class on how to do it with their Blacklist version of Enter Sandman. Saving the main riff for the outro is brilliant! From the arrangement that turns the song into a haunting lullaby to Dany's ability to channel James so well, their version is an instant classic as well.

She started to freak out, and then Lizzy came out and presented this guitar to her. Afterward, Dany thanked her for letting her borrow it. Lizzy, said, no, it's yours. Cool story.

There are covers, then there are COVERS! Been listening to rock music for well over 5 decades now and have heard many, many bands cover songs.This kicks ass! Some that come to mind, that fall into the latter category, are "All Along the Watchtower" by Jimi Hendrix, "The Sound of Silence," and "Land of Confusion" by Disturbed. Some that fall into the former are "No Matter What" by Def Leppard, "Come Together" by Aerosmith and Godsmack, "Live and Let Die" by Guns n Roses.

Have you seen TW’s 2014 cover of "Enter Sandman”. If not, it’s available on their RUclips channel. The description lists their ages at the time as 9, 12, and 14. Ale was so little, her bass was almost bigger than she was. Look at her now. Look at all them now. Worth a look at least, maybe a reaction.

This is one of my favorite TW songs, yes, I actually consider this a TW original. Sure, at the core this is still Metallica's Enter Sandman, but it's so rearranged by the girls, and it is their own composition. I know they are probably done with covers for the time being, since they are busy touring, and about to release their fourth studio album, but I'd love it if they made a cover album, with rerecordings of their old covers, including their original 2014 version of Enter Sandman, it would be cool to hear how it would sound now, with their current experience and skill level. Oh, and a full length version of Mötley Crüe's Kickstart My Heart of course, their old cover of it was sweet, but short.

Yes, Metallica is great, and it seems like I am in the minority, but I do actually love Load and Reload. Both from a musical standpoint (they are oozing atmosphere, and James' voice really fits the more bluesy sound), but also because those albums make me feel very nostalgic, I was in a different place, and a different state of mind back then. And I was younger, of course😆
