It's different then this this. This live version much different then there recorded version I like this one even more
I do prefer the live version. I much rather hearing Dani singing lead.
Metallica invited them to record a cover for the 30th anniversary of the black album and Lars said they should make something different... and they did! They turned it upside down and literally backwards. The original starts with that iconic riff and here they wend with it. The original ends with 'take my hand', and they start with it here. Plus the harmonies and the building of tension by verse. Dany single picks notes in the first verse, and plays power chords in the 2nd, then the very soft lullaby before building again to the iconic riff ending. It's all just so genius.
A complete re-imagining of a classic song! They made this song their own and the fact that they wrote the new arrangement, recorded, mixed and mastered this song in just 10 days is even crazier!
They make it their own without losing the original!
This version of Enter Sandman was recorded for The Metallica Blacklist Album, in the song The Warning Teamed Up with Canadian Pop Singer Alessia Cara and Metallica told them they could record the Song Anyway they Wanted so they did, Check out the Official Video to this Song

Like others have said it was recoded in studio with Alessia Cara and it is part of Metallica's Blacklist album, which contains 53 covers of songs for the 30th anniversary of the Black album.
Randomly finding the vid of their version of Enter Sandman live at Teatro Metro is what made me an instant TW fan. Absolute masterpiece.

It IS recorded. It is the first song on the Metallica Blacklist album. They were invited by Metallica to create their own version of the song and record it as part of the Blacklist album (which is all covers of Metallica songs by other performers). That recording, which included singing from an additional person, is musically the same as this rendition, but the singing sounds a bit softer and sweeter. There's a music video of it. There is a studio version and an official video that includes Alessia Cara, a Grammy winning Canadian singer song writer. The live version has Alessia's vocals on a backing track, which you may not have realized you were hearing. The "whoa oh oh ho oh ho" parts were Alessia but she has more vocal parts on the official recordings. I suggest you check out the official video because it also, is awesome.
Pure artistry. Absolute masterpiece, ripped apart the original and recreated it and recorded it in a week. The harmonies here are incredible and then they drop the original riff at the end and it just explodes. I love their version. ES is theirs now. Great reaction!
The reason he is called the "Sandman" is because he leaves the "sand" in the corners of your eyes that you find in the morning when you wake up. Good video by the way!

Thanks to both of you for reacting so enthusiastically, and making it entertaining and interesting.
They have a formidable innate talent, each one of them. Innate but with practice taken to the sublime.
Despite their youth, they already have a lot of experience on their path in addition to their great preparation since they were children.
Their attitude, discipline and will to achieve their goals are leading them to great, well-deserved achievements.
They are still on the road to the top, but with too much potential, enough to think it will be inevitable.
Furthermore, the volume of quality that each of their creations implies is great… and the number of songs that carry said quality is enormous, which for me could be “The Warning label.”
I’m sure that each of their creations is subjected to a meticulous quality process before finally seeing the light…
And not only in the technical aspect, but we have also already proven that they have an exquisite taste for good music that emanates from them when they become inspired and creative.
Added to all this is that they are surrounded by an excellent family and fraternal team totally committed to their project…
And they have a fan base, “The Warning Army”, tremendously loyal to them that is decisively involved in supporting them because they have deservedly earned it for being incredible and surprising human beings.
Knowing this will give you a much better perspective to better value DPA, and maybe you will understand that TW is not just a band of talented girls who make good songs…
No, it's about music, really art with the brilliance of a "masterpiece" created and performed by three genius performers from an early age who have been developing and evolving by leaps and bounds.
The beauty of their art lies in its simplicity.
Each of these amazing rock masterpieces must be appreciated in all its dimensions and then be surprised again that they are creations of those who have wonderful talent but who, due to their age, still have much more talent to develop.
They are already admirable but their potential increases exponentially as they achieve success.
As long as all this continues to flow with this equation they will soon reach the top of the world where they deserve to be.
We're always looking for more from our favorite band of all time.

DPA/TW and Alessia Cara certainly understood the assignment!
Alessia Cara is a Grammy winning Canadian Pop and R&B singer... they had 10 days to rip this rendition of *Enter Sandman* from the ether and make it a darker, more eerie, and a more haunting lullaby than the original metal version... this was done because they, and many other artists from numerous genres, were invited by Metallica to take one of the songs from the original "Black" album, keep the lyrics and change it up how ever you like... play it backwards, upside down, whatever... this was all for the 30th anniversary of the "Black" album... all the submissions from 50someodd artists were put on the 2021 "The Metallica Blacklist" album... the proceeds from the album sales are split 50/50 with half going to Metallica's "All Within My Hands Foundation" and the other half being donated to a charity of the participating artists' choice.
the version they play in concert has Dany doing the vocals with a backing track of Alessia's ohhhs and ahhhs... of course Ale and Pau join in with their angelic harmonies... it is a fantastic reimagining of the iconic original... this 60+ year old rocker loves both versions of *Enter Sandman* but this one by TW and Alessia gets more airtime these days 😹

Yep, the ladies have all grown up. In October for a couple special shows they even did this live with a string section. I was there for both of those shows. It was amazing.
I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Dany very sweetly puts you to bed, then rouses the troops, shares a little prayer, and the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the Sandman tale. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one.
The Warning owns this song now.

Oh hell yes. Bring a box of tissues and some Visine. Then watch *Revenant* from the same concert. Then go listen to *Black Holes* from the Dakota Bar concert in January 2018. Then watch *Show Me the Light* from the same concert at Dakota Bar. Be sure to read the comments about them. Pau is such an empath. Don't miss her solo piano rendition of Radiohead's *CREEP,* either. It's hauntingly good.

That version of that song is on a metallica published album. It's the first song on the album actually.
I don't remember exactly how long it took for them to redo the entire song and record it, but it wasn't long.
i believe that the sandman stems from the old story about the sandman putting sand in your eyes while you are asleep or to get you to go to sleep... the story is an adult's way of explaining to a child what the crusties are that you wipe from your eyes in the morning when you wake up... i have no idea where the story originates from, though... i heard it way back when i was a tyke some 60+ years ago 😹

The original was about cot death which is a medical condition where the infant just stops breathing and never wakes up while sleeping. The sandman comes at night and sprinkles sand in your eye as you go too sleep Which is why you have the grim in the corners of your eye's when you wake up. I think it is European as I heard it well before there was any strong American influence on my grandparents.
For me Alessia Cara (you see and hear her in the official video) plays the mum putting the baby down to sleep, The Warning plays the sandman leading the child towards dream world and with the final riff hands the child of to Metallica and never-never land (cot death).
