this song was part of the black list album.
As said above this was done for the Metallica Blacklist album. The Warning had a week to arrange record and mix the song. The brief from Metallica was they could do whatever they wanted with the song and the feedback from Metallica after they heard the result was they loved it. It is now the first track on the blacklist album and was done as a collaboration with Canadian singer Alessia Cara but only performed live with her once at a gig in LA last may.
It should be said that it's thanks to Alessia Cara ( _or rather her name_ ) that this song became the first of the Enter Sandman songs on the Blacklist album and since Enter Sandman was the first song on the original Black album, so was this song on the Blacklist album. Not so complicated if you let it sink in. 😁

The Warning are three sisters from Monterrey, Mexico that started making music very young Alejandra (Ale = Aleh, not the beer. Bass, backing vocals and keyboard, the youngest- 18) and Paulina (Pau = Pow. Drums, backing/lead vocals and keyboard, middle sister 21) at 3 and Daniela (Dany = Dany. Guitar, lead vocals and keyboard, the oldest 23) 5, all learning classical piano. They got the video game Rock Band and fell in love with the feeling of performing on other instruments. Their father asked if they wanted to learn another instrument and the girls jumped at the opportunity and gravitated to the instruments they played in Rock Band.
They had been uploading their musical journey to RUclips for their family to see and had wanted to try and play music together as a band around 2012 and started rehearsing for a small performance for their school xmas show. Well They loved the experience so much they began learning and playing cover songs of hard rock and metal bands. One song in particular shot them into the limelight. That song, "Enter Sandman" by Metallica had gone viral (currently over 22 000 000 views) and had gotten the attention of Metallica, Dee Snyder and The Ellen Show! The Warning wrote, composed and recorded an EP called Escape the Mind in 2015 to experience that whole process and to determine what type of music they liked to make... Thankfully they chose Rock/Hard Rock! Ellen Degeneres invited the band to play live on her show, to which they accepted and played "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne, after the performance Ellen and Target awarded the sisters $10,000 each to attend Berklee School of Music in Boston, Ma. USA.
They performed a number of small and large shows afterward and began writing and composing new material for their first full length album "XXI Century Blood" in 2017. They supported this album with some very high profile gigs like opening for Def Leppard and separately The Killers for two shows each in Mexico. Also following other large rock bands in a couple music festivals. In 2018 they wrote and recorded "Queen of the Murder Scene" and released it in November of that year and have toured Mexico and South American venues.
In June of 2019 they released a single, "Narcisista". A scathing rebuke of their Mexican critics that had accused the band of being "Malinchista" a Mexican term used to call out cultural traitors, because the group has only recorded English language songs. Well this song is in Spanish and it is full of attitude and angst fired toward those critics. The Warning is totally fan-funded through Patreon, RUclips and crowdfunding platforms like GoFundMe and Kickstarter. They have turned down offers from record labels and talent shows like American Idol because they did not want to lose their control of their music, image and wanted to focus on learning. In fact in one interview with a record label they were asked if they would rather play to 12 people or 12000. Paulina piped up and said The Warning would rather play in front of 12 if it meant they would keep their integrity and could play the music they want to play, how they want to play... That is the most Rock n Roll quote ever!
So after a very successful Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a North American tour and to record a new album achieving their goal within 24 hours and surpassing that goal by 600%. Unfortunately the Covid-19 Pandemic forced the band to cancel their tour plans and postpone making their album. Their last live show before the global lockdown was March 14 2020 at the Vive Latino 2020 Festival in Mexico City.This did not stop The Warning from performing though, they played a full concert set from their basement studio/rehearsal space for free for their fans on RUclips and Facebook achieving well over 50,000 simultaneous viewers on March 25, 2020. They have since performed from The Warning Cave a couple more times including for the city of Brownsville, Tx. for the Fourth of July virtual celebration and later in the summer for a charity event with rock legends like Slash and Ringo Star.
On August 9th 2020 The Warning announced to their Patreon community that after seven long months of negotiations they had signed a five record deal with Lava Records, a label under the Republic Records and Universal Music family. During the announcement they reiterated their dedication to their own creative integrity and dedicated fans on Patreon and were able to retain both in their record contract with Lava. In Sept of 2020 The Warning traveled to New Jersey, USA to begin rehearsal and eventually recording of their third album. After three months of recording and a month and a half of mastering, mixing and editing the third album was completed at the beginning of February, 2021. All that remains as of 22/02/21 is the album design and artwork and logistics of the release which will hopefully happen by the end of 2021.
In March of 2021 The Warning was invited to cover a song from Metallica's eponymous 5th album (The Black Album) with Canadian Grammy and Juno award winning pop star Alessia Cara for Metallica's Blacklist album. A 30th anniversary celebration for the Metallica album. They selected to record Enter Sandman, a fitting song because it was this song that propelled The Warning 7 years previous into stardom. The Warning reimagined the song with Alessia and produced a fresh new feeling that goes above and beyond what others have done with the song...

On October 8th, 2021, The Warning released six songs that were recorded for the new album on an EP titled Mayday with the remaining 6 songs to be released at a later date.
Starting on the 18th of Feburary 2022 The Warning started out on their previously twice cancelled North American Mayday Tour. Their forst show was on Saltillo Mx followed by a short set openning for Mammoth WVH in Las Vegas, NV and another short set opening for Sammy Hagar in Austin Tx at the SXSW Festival. The white guitar was made gor her by Lzzy from Halestorm while they were touring together. The ages are 18,20 and 22. Now they are 18,21,and 23 . The bassist is the youngest and she only sings lead when Dany the lead singer has a sore throat. It's always a treat when a reactor has a little trepidation going into this reimagining of Enter Sandman. In the end, it really does show that they hit the mark, paying tribute, but making it their own. Glad you liked it. Metallica approved! Keep on reacting more to The Warning. This is an excellent reworked version. They went viral with a more true to the original version when they were 13, 12 and nine years old but this version was done for the Blacklist album with Canadian singer songwriter Alessia Cara, whose voice I believe you hear in this live version in the 'oohs', but singer Dany handles all the vocals that she shared with Alessia in the studio version, including the prayer. In the official video the drum gives an excellent eerie reciting of the prayer. These hard rocking sisters are on the fast track to stardom.

To reinforce what you've started to learn, The Warning are made up of 3 sisters from Monterrey, Mexico. They reimagined the song, making it a bit creepier than the original. They followed Metallica's instructions for their Blacklist album. The collaborated with Alessia Cara on the studio version, and that arrangement is cool, too, but in order to perform the song live Dany, the lead guitarist, picked up the vocal parts that Alessia did. You can hear Alessia's vocals on the harmonies through the backing track, otherwise is is all them.

They did this song with Alessia Cara for the Metallica "Blacklist" album. This is what Lars said in Rolling Stone about the artists doing covers of their songs for the album: “We said, ‘Pick a song. The Warning are a band of 3 sisters from Mexico, and after their original cover of Enter Sandman, which now has over 24M views from 2014, when they were just 8, 12, and 14 years old, they were invited by Metallica last year to record another song for their Blacklist album. They had a deadline of 1 week and knocked this rendition out the park. Their first cover of Enter Sandman was a straight-up cover, so that is why they changed it up to show their evolution as songwriters and musicians.
The Warning are not metal but rock/ hard rock with influences of grunge, punk, and alternative rock, which is so refreshing to hear in this day and age.

The drummers harmonies on this are stellar and incredible while drumming. This band is absolutely incredible and the reimagining of this classic couldn’t have been better. Huge fan of them.
Good call, this band is the future of modern rock! If you’re interested take a look on their channel at their history! Their previous cover of this was in 2014 where Alejandra (Bass) was 9, Paulina (Drums) was 12 and Daniela (Guitar) was 14, they all sing but Dany is the main lead singer, Pau sings backing vocals and sometimes lead, Ale mostly backing vocals and perhaps twice sung lead. Oh I forgot, they’re sisters! Pau is the main songwriter but they collaborate a lot as the song progresses until they’re all happy with it.
The other great thing about them is that they interact with their fan base, that’s why we are all so passionate about them, they are just amazing humble human beings, they’re so lovable!
With 2 EP’s and 3 albums (soon to be 4) there’s plenty of choice in songs, what’s really amazing is that every single one is of Single quality this is down to how meticulous they are about everything.

It's a dark lullaby, read the history. Metallica's is iconic, these ladies told their version, the dark side of the tale.
Like others mentioned, this was done on the request of Metallica, specifically asking them to change the song and go for it.
These 3 sisters are so in tune with each other, everything they do is Fire. ⚡E/S is Track 1, Disc 1 of the Blacklist LP. Metallica didn't choose them to kick off that LP, for no reason. 😉
I think the more likely reason is simply that Enter Sandman was the first track on the Black Album, and Alessia Cara's name was first in alphabetical order among those covering Enter Sandman. Nonetheless, the other Enter Sandman versions were anywhere from straight copies to minor stylistic adaptations, and IMO none hold a candle to this. As I say about the Blacklist Album, saving the best for first.

@@allancustodio2274 No problem, but as a Nightwish fan we have to deal with these posts regularly. Of course, it's about the Nightwish army and not TWA, but still, it makes you wonder why some people have this as their only comment but with some variations. Nightwish Army/TWA will arrive in 1, 2, ... and sometimes there have been at least 20 other comments before that. They know that they already arrived or at least know that they soon will. The reactors will notice anyway.
Nice reaction and review. I'm a member of The Warning Army, and not surprisingly really like this.
There aren't a lot of bands with three capable singers. Ale rarely sings lead, by preference, but she sings excellent harmonies and will sing lead if needed to give Dany a rest. She has one short but important vocal solo in Choke; Dany sung it on the studio recording, but live, she cannot drop her voice from high in her range to low instantly, so Ale sings it. Pau sings about 20% of the leads. Her voice complements Dany's very nicely; it's more precise but she has less range.
I suggest that the next TW song you listen to is Animosity from the same concert (ruclips.net/video/K8VPX-diRl4/видео.html); you can compare it to the official lyric video (ruclips.net/video/C_-UkETmtjg/видео.html) and a live session they also did (ruclips.net/video/3bQIYYmDyII/видео.html). The concert was almost 2 years after they recorded it, and you can hear the increased power and grit she has at her command now. They are an exceptional live band, and virtually all of us agree that they are better live than on recording. The one song that was considered a bit of an exception was this, because they didn't have the fourth singer (Alessia Cara). But it's evident that they've managed to work out how to get more out of it, and Dany has added a lot of emotion to it (the desperation in the recited part, and the hush little baby buildup).

You gotta watch the official video, there's a little variation of Dany's voice. For me the original is a rock/metal song, The Warning's blacklist version is like a narrated mini story with the climax at the end...😀

Lizzy hale gave the lead guitar to the singer.
They do have a backing track of Alicia Carla. The last name is spelled wrong. They did this for the anniversary of the black album, so The Warning did this with Alecia. They have actual video of this and she is in it sort of. Point being you can hear in certain points of the song. The Warning are sisters from Monterrey Mexico.

Yes, they’re making harmonies, but yes, there’s one recorded voice, since the cover they recorded at studio was with the participation of Alessia Cara, she’s actually the one that sings the first part of the song as the leading vocalist, then Dany, the guitarist takes the lead for the rest of the song but still gave Alessia Cara for the chorus, so live they have that Alessia Cara’s voice recorded voice at the chorus. And that’s the reason for this arrangement to be like that, they start slower to fit Alessia’s voice and style, since she’s a pop and r&b singer, so the song moves from fitting Alessia’s style to become The Warning Style still fitting Alessia, then making rendition to the original riff at the end. And they wouldn’t play it just like it is since that’s actually how they became famous almost 10 years ago when they were little kids and that made a video playing the very same song at the basement of their house, the one Kirk Hammett saw and commented and made them viral and made them to actually evolve from three kids, three little sisters playing at the basement of their house to a pro rock band.
There is too much talent, virtuosity, beauty, charisma, power, creativity, the desire to be, kindness, support, inspiration, synergy, etc.

They were invited by Metallica to perform their version on their Black List album and they have Metallica permission to perform this song this is the song that gave them their start almost 10 years ago. Metallica approves them and they gave them a thumbs up.
When Metallica say's mix it up for their blacklist Album, you have 2 weeks to arrange and record and you are The Warning this is what you get. They knew it was originally was written as a lullaby. The Blacklist Album song included a collaboration (record company suggestion) with Alessia Cara (a pop singer from Canada). I prefer this live version were Dany (lead) does her parts. When Alessia sings I believe she plays the mum, putting the child down to sleep and sings the lullaby. She slowly fades out as The Warning take over playing the part of the Sandman and the lead the child off to sleep. The final riff is where The Warning hands the child off too Metallica and never neverland (cot death). So well done. The Warning rock.
The last thing I want to hear is the song being sIng exactly the same …I don’t want to hear that ..this is best song even better than the original.

@@allancustodio2274 This version is something I really could enjoy while driving my car. The 2014 version...not so much. I loved that, and still do, because of the way they performed it at that age. But the 2014 version made me realize that Pau had two excellent sisters. Before they released it I was mainly interested in Pau's drumming skills and couldn't really care less about her sisters. 😄
