This series is a permadeath starting with a search for either a crashed ship or a trading station with ships for sale. Getting a ship will start the journey to the centre of the galaxy.

You just scrapped an intact S-class shield module in that Explorer :(
Use the Dioxite & buy some Pyrite for your suit & ship fuel respectively: it takes less of those to fill your tanks than if you use Oxygen & Tritium
Consider buying a heat protection module (if available ofc) before you visit the Activated Copper planet, to help with the extreme storms you'll find there
