Visited my parents overseas for the first time in years. Their BRAVIA had been turning off every few mins. They had put up with this for OVER A YEAR. this video solved the problem in a few minutes. Thank you.
We have a late model 2007 Sony Bravia model KDL-40V2500 bought new. It was turning off and immediately back on sometimes very very short intervals and some long. Annoying! Some days it worked fine. Tried unplugging (30 seconds) and resetting with power button and volume switch. No help. Took out (heavy TV!) to my hot humid SW Florida garage and removed the back unplugged from AC of course. Get your Phillips (small and large size end) and Look for all arrows pointing to screw holes. There’s 2 smaller ones dead center!! Gently Pull off back. Now, lower bottom center left there’s a small white clip that connects power to a board from a shiny metal egg shaped housing where the thick ac power cord connects to. We Disconnected and cleaned male and female with electronic spray (plastic safe dry cleaning fluid in a can Home Depot). Air hosed entire back. Turned it on and let it run for an hour in my hot humid garage (92 degrees) with no issues. The top did get hot so thinking it wasn’t heat issues making it act up. Cleaned dusty back panel with spray soap and garden hose. Let dry completely…… it ran perfectly for another hour. Reinstalled rear panel and brought inside ac’d home. Still running with no glitches so far. I like the set. Yes it’s old but really nice picture. Not many hdmi in’s but it has a Headphone jack! Good luck. No guarantees. Cheers

I use an Nvidia Shield (HDMI). In the Inputs menu (top left button of the remote), when I switch from "SAT" (i.e. channels via our satellite dish) to "HDMI 4 Shield". The Sony TV switches itself off. (Bravo Sync has to be switched on otherwise it doesn't recognise the Shield or any HDMI socket). Any ideas how to fix the switching off problem when I change from one input to another ? Also happens when I switch from my Wii (in another HDMI socket) to, say, SAT or the Shield. Hope you can help.
But how to Power off Sony Bravia 49X8000H 4k tv, when we Power off the tv by itz Bluetooth remote, suddenly after few minutes it again starts so we need to switch off the power connection. There in no option to power off the tv on remote.
Mine is doing something weird, it keeps on switching to the same HDMI then after 3 times it shuts off and then the light blinks read and won't turn on again till i take out the power unit and even then it does it all over again.

A lot of Sony Tv have this issue and even with Sony Sync and power settings turn off it can still shut down on it's own but these 2 settings might solve the issue. It's an issue Sony haven't fix yet or maybe they refuse to think it exist. For this reason alone I am skeptical of purchasing another Sony TV.

Hi, I just got a new A8H a few days ago and when I watch tv the screen goes dark after a minute or so but the sound from the tv is still playing. there's also the bravia logo on the bottom right corner. but when I touch the remote the screen goes back. its extremely annoying and I tried unpluging all the hdmi devices and powering down the tv for a few minutes. and it will fix the problem but the next day the problem comes back. does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
My 2019 sony tv doesn't have External inputs option under settings. But It turns off after I turn on the tv with the sony remote, every single time. It was once or twice a month, then once or twice a week, then once or twice a day. But now it's literally everytime I power the TV on, it turns back off by itself. Driving me fkn crazy
Yes, factory reset if the normal reset doesn’t fix it. Try taking the batteries out of the remote, Change the volume until the remote stops responding. Then see if the TV switches off on its own

I'm streaming audio only via Airplay to my Sony A80J and it shuts off probably every 8 minutes or so after using the remote, even after disabling the BRAVIA sync as you suggested. No difference with ethernet or wifi. This only happens in this scenario; TV never shuts off besides this.
Cec is the ability for the TV to contol conected devices. Older sky remotes were infra red. If sky q needs cec you may need to make the choice between 2 remotes or a TV that switches itself off.

I like bravia sync, it allows me to use 1 remote instead of 3. This shouldn’t be the solution, it’s a bug that SONY needs to fix. My bravia AF9 also has sync problems, this Usualy happens after an update. I had this since the beginning. It runs smoothly for a month or 2 and then suddenly it doesn’t recognise my home cinema or my tv box, there is always something!!! Honestly i have given up on sony products, I paid a 1000 euro’s more for a sony tv instead of buying an LG, this is what i get. I called customer service alot about this issue, their only solution is factory settings. Does anyone else experience this with their bravia tv? P.S. also had an sony vaio S laptop with HDD problems. I had to send it for repair lots of times and eventualy got my money back. The only thing i keep is my ps5.
This happens to me too. It's only done it since the recent Android update. Once I turn it on a second time it stays on. I'm trying the fix from the video but I don't see how it will fix it because I don't use any external devices. EDIT: the solution didn't fix the issue for me, but the issue ia a bit different to the one from the video. It was worth trying.
@@darrylthompson138 The TV powers on with a blank screen and then turns off after two or three seconds. When I power it on again it remains on. It does the android start up sequence though the start up is quicker than if I had done a full power cycle.

This case seems to be the box or HDMI cord is the problem. After every method tried wIth no luck II unplug the hdmi cord of the external streaming tv box by accident and my sony works normal!!

I wonder if the remotes the problem. Remove the batteries and get it far from the TV. Some Sony remotes are Bluetooth others are infra red. If a buttons membrane has failed it could be switching the TV off.

Try unplugging everything but the mains cable then try again. If you press and hold the power button it will properly shut down Android and the TV. Switch it on again (it will take a while)

Try switching of any cec options in the shield menu if it has them.

Blinking lights are usually fault diagnosis. Try unplugging every cable and see if it still fails

Try unplugging everything but the aerial. If it’s still switching off try factory resetting your TV. Otherwise contact Sony.

Yes, if both have HDMI. Macs usually need an usb C or DisplayPort to HDMI adaptor.

I power on my ps5 using dualsense controller then my Sony XBR 4k tv shuts off.

Playing a Movie is a bit vague, is it a specific app or device that’s playing the movie.

Try unplugging everything from your TV. Switch it off at the power for 5 minutes. Power it up. If it still doesn’t work I suspect your TV has a fault.
