- TV turning itself off and on may be a button short in the remote. Remove the batteries to see if the remote is the cause. If your problem goes away, check inside the remote. The contacts are shorted by rubber impregnated pads. If there is too much of the contact solution, it will continue to activate the contacts without the rubber pad pressure. Remove the "oil" with a swab and be sure to remove the oil in the recesses.

Changed battery's in TV remote and the problem kept happening. Then changed the firestick batteries after having it unplugged for over a hour due to another channel! Found this channel and the problem fixed straight away! Thank you🙏 it happened really strange, all I did was sit on the remote like I have 100 times then this happens 🙈 I know you don't need my life story but I'm real grateful👍😏

Amazon Fire Stick was my issue. Thank you for doing this video. Was thinking I was going to have to buy a new tv. I tried the tv remote. When that didn’t work, I remembered that the Fire Stick also controls the tv power. I see in the comments that a lot of people had the same thing happen with their Fire Stick. Very grateful I don’t have to buy a new tv.👍🏻
