Changed battery's in TV remote and the problem kept happening. Then changed the firestick batteries after having it unplugged for over a hour due to another channel! Found this channel and the problem fixed straight away! Thank you🙏 it happened really strange, all I did was sit on the remote like I have 100 times then this happens 🙈 I know you don't need my life story but I'm real grateful👍😏
Thank you sooooo much for this video. This was the problem with my tv. It was turning off and on and at the moment I could not afford to buy another 1200.00 tv. Your video was the fix for my tv as well. What a great victory to start 2020
Amazon Fire Stick was my issue. Thank you for doing this video. Was thinking I was going to have to buy a new tv. I tried the tv remote. When that didn’t work, I remembered that the Fire Stick also controls the tv power. I see in the comments that a lot of people had the same thing happen with their Fire Stick. Very grateful I don’t have to buy a new tv.👍🏻
Thank you very much for this video. I appreciate the fact that someone took the time to share this. It wasn't my remote but It was the Amazon stick remote. Thanks for posting the video and thanks for the comments. Everyone helped me to find the solution. Gracias Amigos.
I was thinking the same thing! 👍 Great video. The tv stopped turning itself off when the remote wasn’t near by; I brought the tv in the garage to troubleshoot.
My tv would not stop cutting on and off. I tried everything under the sun and could not fix it, came across your video and fix it right on the spot. Thank you
Thank you! This saved me..im my case it was just the batteries and once I switched them. It stopped. I hate that reset my TV first, but.... im grateful!
Thanks dude this wasn't the problem but I read the comments and I changed the batteries in my firestick and it worked so just letting other people know if you're having the same problem try that it worked for me couldn't get it working for 2 days thought I'd need a new TV but not now happy days good luck everyone 🤞
I have a Samsung tv in my bedroom that keeps switching its self on! after I turn it off!! (mainly at night) when I am sleeping my batteries out of the control but it still does but not all the time 🤔 what could it be ? works fine…

I took the batteries out of Sharp smart tv remote, nothing happened. I just took out the batteries for the Amazon fire cube with Alexa remote and it seemed to solve the problem of the TV randomly turning on and off! Idk why Amazon fire cube remote control would be the problem. Any ideas?
Just bought a soundbar and woke up to my whole tv system blasting off the loudest tv commercial at 2AM 😅. I bet my neighbors weren’t happy. I’ll have to try this with my soundbar remote.
My problem is anytime I press a button on the remote the TV turns off but it isn't the remote. I bought a new one I've cleaned the first one and still no matter what button I press on either remote the TV turns off
Thanks bro..in my case . I have about 3 remote controls. I took all of them out of the room and brought in one at a time. It was my firestick. Problem fix. Thanks again. I don't have to buy a new tv.
when your TV starts to turn on and off take your smartphone camera and turn it on with the remote facing the TV, Look at the front of the remote and look to see if a glow is present, this can be done anytime to see what I mean, your camera will pick up IR. it's a simple way to test to see if your remote is sending a signal ( keep in mind it won't tell you what signal as each input is a series of fast pulses.)
It didn't work for me. I installed pot lights recently. When I turn the lights on, the TV switches off on its own. TV works fine when the lights are not ON.
Most likely your power supply for the TV.....Worth checking the forums for your brand TV and model. Power supplies can be cheap and easy to replace on some TVs.
frankenfoamy I checked the power board it alright but when I flip it,it had some kind grease like substance on the bottom flip side of the power board,I’m thinking it’s the safety feature.
@@Chief_Tipzy13 That so called grease you see is actually the fish oil seeping out of one or more of your capacitors thus causing the power supply to shut down spontaneously. Either replace all your capacitors on your power supply or install a new one will fix your tv from random shutdowns.
The thing about my tv is that it’s a element 43 inch tv, and I just did the controller solution and it’s still turning on and off even with the batteries out, I unplug it all last night for like 9 hours, and it’s still turning on and off, if someone could help me that’ll be appreciated
I just bought a 4K Fire Stick too. Found out the remote was causing my Samsung TV to turn off and on...seems I put the batteries in the remote wrong. Once I removed them...the stanby light stopped blinking and all was well again!!!
To clarify.... sometimes the remote control gets stuck keys. you can test that by putting the remote in another room so it does not control the TV. If that fixes your problem, then you know the remote is the problem. If you don't want to fix it, they are cheap online. Good Luck
Besure all your remotes have been checked. Otherwise is it sounds like a powerboard.....depending on model some are cheap and easy to replace. Try searching your problem by make of TV

What's a fire stick
@@chipsterfc6261 it's Amazon's version of a roku stick. It plugs directly into the t.v.

Thanks for mentioning this! Just realised my fire stick remote is also connected to my other TV that keeps turning on and off.
Wow. So far......by removing the batteries from my TVs remote, no more annoying off on action! I’m using my Apple TV remote now only. Thank you!!!!
I was thinking the same thing! 👍 Great video. The tv stopped turning itself off when the remote wasn’t near by; I brought the tv in the garage to troubleshoot.
Thanks man this helped me a lot. Now I don’t have to buy a new tv. It was actually the batteries in my fire stick remote.
Someone Soto bruh same shit. I read this comment then check my other remote. Good shit
Thanks for commenting this! This was my issue as well! The fire stick remote batteries 😮
Thanks for this. It was my fire stick remote
You comment just saved me a lot of money. Lol more helpful then the video. Much appreciated.
My tv wasn’t working and I was trying to fix it for 1 hour until I found your video.Thank you
All y'all had to do was replace remote with an universal remote and BOOM.... you're back in business. Trust me it works
Thanks! Thought the tv was done for, but this seems to have done the trick. Appreciate the tip!
Took off the batteries! It wasn’t my Sony control or Cox remote. It was the dam fire stick control!!! Thanks for the help.
Kept trying to find the issue on the TV itself until I removed the remote's battery, thanks for the vid man.
Amazon fire stick remote was turning my tv on and off. Changing batteries fixed the problem.
omg glad I seen this comment, my firestick just was doing the same to me!!
You the best thank you
Damn I never wouldve thought of that! It worked! Thank you!
Thank god for this comment. I almost threw away the whole tv just out of frustration. Thanks man.

Thank you, it worked for me following your instructions and I didn't have to buy another television. it really does work.👏😄
I hit that like button so fast my tv new it shouldnt turn on by itself anymore and I usually never like videos. you da man!!!!!
Mine is doing from the tv not the remote, its flashes then cuts off, what can also be the problem
I have not yet tried this. Good idea. I’m gonna see if this is the problem with my magnavox LED 42”. Thanks for posting!
Is this applicable to LG Smart TV?
I even bought new remote control.
Possible in all TVs with a Remote. If you have a new remote, be sure the old remote does not have batteries.
Thanks dude this wasn't the problem but I read the comments and I changed the batteries in my firestick and it worked so just letting other people know if you're having the same problem try that it worked for me couldn't get it working for 2 days thought I'd need a new TV but not now happy days good luck everyone 🤞

if you see no flashes it's not your remote.
IS that for bootloop problem please? Thanks
No, one of the remote keys if shorting giving a constant signal
That's a Sony bravia right?
It didn't work for me. I installed pot lights recently. When I turn the lights on, the TV switches off on its own. TV works fine when the lights are not ON.
What if the tv does that without the batteries in the remote????mine goes on for a minute then restarts again.

Thank you kind sir the battery trick fixed it.
My remote doesn't have any screws at all, so how can I fix my issue? Any suggestions would be most helpful
Likely snaps together. Mine had screws only iin the battery compartment
Put the remote in another room to see if it is the problem
My 950g, keeps turning off once a week. It restarts itself and then turns back on. Is that normal.
I don't have a remote for my Phillip tv
Ayyyyy I don't have a Phillip tv anymore I have a 45 inch tv
THANK YOU!! this really help me
What if it is not the control? What other problem could be? Because i did this and still it keeps turning on and off.
Most likely the power supply. Do a web search for your TV / power supply for repair ideas
This is the same problem on our TV...but our remote was broken 1 year ago and we are not using remote😢
i have cleaned the remot but its turning off and on by itself what should i do?
If it stops with the batteries out.......try cleaning with more earnest.....look for fluid in all the crevices of the button membrane
4k fire stick remote was the issue, this vid helped me realise the that so thanks a lot
I just bought a 4K Fire Stick too. Found out the remote was causing my Samsung TV to turn off and on...seems I put the batteries in the remote wrong. Once I removed them...the stanby light stopped blinking and all was well again!!!
Thanks it actually......worked
but what if its not the remote? help!!!!
Took batteries outa my remote.. lets see if its the problem. My tv i onli baught 4 days ago
Sometimes there appears a sign on my TV saying that it will turn off on its own for several seconds.
Thank you!! You save me!! My Firestick remote was causing my TVs to do the same thing.
Thank you! I tried everything even my tv remote and nothing worked. Turns out it was my fire stick remote that was the problem
How did you fix it? Did you take the fire stick out of the telly? My remote just keeps going to Channel 5, every button on the remote is showing C5.
Your video helped me ! Thank you
thank you my friend it solve my problem
And if it’s not the remote?
Often it is the power board. Depending on TV you can open it and do a visual examination. They are cheap online and there maybe a youtube tutorial
Mine is still turning off and on by it’s self even after I take off the remote
I feel I have something similar.. My TV goes off for up to a minute.. Remove batteries seems to be working
I’m 77 and do t understand any of what your saying but I don’t need a new battery
To clarify.... sometimes the remote control gets stuck keys. you can test that by putting the remote in another room so it does not control the TV. If that fixes your problem, then you know the remote is the problem. If you don't want to fix it, they are cheap online. Good Luck
