What would be nice is a game with both first and third person... These should not be entire genres, they should just be another view mode... Then first person players can play vs third person and vice versa. GTA V does this, it allows first and third person.

I haven’t played ranked yet but casual matches feel really short for how long it takes to find a match and to pick you operators and such. Other then that it’s a great game!
I actually agree. Would love for it to be first to 5, but I get it for casuals
it depends on your class, if you play assault, it will always take long since everyone wants to play it, same as damage in overwatch. Also, if two good teams clash, it won't feel short at all since you'll be probably playing 5 rounds and all od them will take a long while
Feel like the 3 loading screens can be reduced to 2,have you customize on same screen as character select

I hope there's enough interest for them to start AU servers. They used to have them.
It’s pretty dumb that they didn’t release the game with ASIA or AU servers. Like, at least have them on launch to see if there’s enough players in the region for the long run.
I left OCE because so many good games don't have the servers. Better players in EU and I don't get told to kill myself everyday on OCE Servers lol.
I was one of the people waiting for Steam release. Played my first games before work this morning. Wait times were less than 2-3 minutes for the few games I played. Really excited for this and hoping the player base grows and the game is around for quite a while! Filling that SOCOM type void for 3rd person shooter fanatics like myself.
Bigfry, you should consider making a Caliber operator tierlist or a video suggesting who to buy. Me and my friends are admittedly completely lost here.

if you have good gaming iq and aim, I would suggest volk as an assault, the starting one, he is insane in right hands since you can laserbeam everyone with hipfire in his ability. For the sniper, the best are vidar and avalanche

@@radspiderjackson they are too easy to bait, even if a player is good, at further ranges you can just dodge the bullet since it's very slow. His perk is decent, but everything else about him is garbage
Meh, these days i really enjoy games where u can fully customize your loadouts, weapons, etc. Since i've played Tarkov 2 years ago i struggle to get back to games with old low personnalization possibilities. And CALIBER is like that, what if i want to play the RAID man with a M4, an ACOG, and triangular grip and specialize butstock ? I can't, cause u only can play this weapon with this character and with this few accessories. Everytime that i discover inovative games, adding more depth in so many ways, it's really hard to play games that cannot get to the new standards and add nothing to the table.
Plus, i hate the free to play economy. In F2P, 90% of these projects, people who have more money destroys poor people with XP boost, Buying best operators instantly, etc. Like the world is in-off unfair as fuck for me to play a game that brings those social class diffrerences in a game. Much more fan with buying a game full price, i've plenty of content and few months after paying for extensions like DLC.

@@vihaan4662 They used to. They removed them because no one was playing on them among other things. They said if there's enough interest they'll look into bringing them back.
I wish they add fpp mode cuz asians prefer fps over tps when it comes to multiplayer games.

I totally forgot I had this game! I open my Steam library every single day casually looking for games to play, and I always forget about any game that has an independent launcher.
Excited to try this. The little bit I've played is lowkey fun. Cant wait.
WARNING: I just saw someone on their Discord pointing out that they just increased their prices by 20% without even addressing it! They raised prices by that much in the middle of a coin event as well! How manipulative! It looked like they were doing so well, but I guess they really want to kill this game off.
Going to have to give this a try now ! Hopefully it gets a decent player base.

there are 4 pve modes in it
Once you get a few characters with nice perks, You stack them on your favourite one and it ends up being really fun and faster than the basic characters. Agreed third person shooters always suck normally but they understand that it's not a fps with just a different view model haha
Hopefully that in game ui gets some love it doesnt look to good and is a bit close to the middle of the screen.
Tried playing it earlier today, got huge latency spikes whenever I load into a match like rubberbanding levels of bad, playing from the US, hopefully support can diagnose the issue.
decided to try the game today and ended up playing 5 hours straight. game is pretty fun
For new players i do suggest seeing through smoke skill like Matador because all of the medics have at least a smoke and even some recons use smoke or poison. So unlock Matador and for the Smoke Fans out there there is Prorok wich gives him defense in his own smoke and the ability to see through his own smoke thats his own ability , Matador's thermal optic is a unlockable skill.
My issue is I can't even level up my operator because I can't even play as him(volk) without having an extremely long wait time that forces me to use the recruit operator just to get into a game and make some progress. This will probably be less of an issue as more players unlock more operators but right now with all the new players trying it out I can't really play the game the way I want. I hope they add more content like maps and game modes because I definitely see the appeal of this game.

Give an increased 10% match XP and 5% account XP for a win if a player plays the currently needed or currently lowest queued class. That might help balance Q times...?
I have only played marksman in my 37 hours played so Q times have been great.

If the first person mode is standard i will check it out. Not a fan of third person.

this is a third-person shooter, and the first person was an experiment of the game developers
I can't take a "pvp" game seriously if it is 3rd person. Unless they make the system as it is in scum, where you can't see the enemy player if your character's model doesn't have LoS on the enemy.
That SCUM system is actually the dumbest shit I’ve seen. It works okay in a survival game, but in a competitive arena, no way.
Hostage rescue needs to be priority 1 in the features to add department. Maybe even a co op mode against bots for those of us that have friends who would play with us but don't like pvp all the time. I love SOCOM but this game is its own 3rd person shooter thing mostly and not really a SOCOM game even in spirit but it is really fun it just needs something to make it stand out more.

there are 4 pve modes in it, but 2 of them are very difficult and they can be passed only by command and only by voice communication

So checking out the steam reviews they say that operators are locked behind a paywall? So is the monetization cosmetic only or is it a rainbow situation where you can pay for operators or grind for them?
Nvm u said it the game is "still a grind". I almost wish it was just a 30$ game you buy once. Just checked out their pack sales. If you're going to charge per operator then idk if $30 per operator is worth it. Maybe I'd do $10 if I liked the game enough. For $30 you should at least get 3 months of premium. Then I'd see the "worth" in it. But it's a free game so worth a try for the base game at least

Guys, if you like shooters, play the damn game! Bigfry is completely right when he says this is the best TPS available. And seeing as how the developers have been listening to players, we absolutely should be showing love for Caliber! And heck, if Caliber does good, maybe other companies will take note... Maybe, just maybe, we'll get more classic shooters, not the garbage we've been getting over the last decade or so.

I will agree, they made a bad change two years ago that almost killed the game, but seemingly reverted it and made tons of improvements

heads up for anyone trying the game out.
the grind is absolute cancer especially for unlocking perks/skills, if you have to research the character your interested in to avoid wasting money on purchase and upgrades for a character. the game will give out one free character depending on what class tutorial you pick, you will also get 3 more free characters so choose wisely.
Ima get it on steam, especially after hearing controller support is coming, but id really like to see it drop on xbox
All these years and they fked up the release, i'm getting matches on RU server with 240+ ping and some matches on NA servers with 80 ping. HOW
The game automatically pairs you with NA first, EU second, then finally RU. If you got into an RU server, its because there were no games available in NA. It JUST launched, my man. Let people get it, download it, and get into it first lol

I have only played 4.8 hours of Caliber on steam as of now on this comment but I will say those 4.8 hours were fun as hell did well some games and did poor and really poor on other games but showdown is really fun annihilation is okay for practice mode or just to chill.
I got to get used to the depletion of stamina during each round it is good that they have stimulants to regain stamina but I mostly play assault or support if they did add a SOCOM style demolition mode they might have to change the stamina system or have it regenerate quicker with bigger maps idk if they’ll do that but I do like the idea of a demolition mode.
Edit: it would be cool if they added more players like 8v8 or 6v6 idk if they plan on doing that tho.

I'm really hoping you'll mention it again here and there so we can get these devs the attention they deserve. My PC luckily should be good enough to run it, but I'd love to see a game like this released on ps5 at some point.
Loved the video, convinced me to get it for sure. Going to be on frequently assuming you're on and are doing events and stuff.
I'm worried about how decent I'll be with M&K but I've gotta support a good third person game. There's really nothing out there and COD keeps taking third person out of MW2 and taking maps away from the mode, not updating it, etc.
They seriously need to bring this game to PS5 and Xbox! Come on Devs stop wasting time! This game looks AMAZING! This the Socom fix I need!!

I'll check it out as soon as it gets controller support. But for the love of god i wish someone would make a 3rd person shooter with a centered camera. Switching from shoulder to shoulder is completely unnecessary and takes up buttons that could be used for other actions. Thankfully this camera isn't super off-centered like Ghost Recon and every other TPS of the last 15yrs.
This has both brother! You can choose the classic SOCOM style over the top, OR Over the Shoulder! 4:11
