I am liking this underappreciated gem. I would like you to make it a series of you keep playing Caliber until you get the Slap Execution. XD Keep on keeping on and I look forward to more videos as usual.
As a fan of SOCOM and Ghost Recon Phantoms, I'm so happy to have Caliber available in the modern day. I'm getting sick of all the generic, casual zoomer shooters lately. Thanks for covering Caliber, Anthony!
Great video! 6:32 the funny looking thing on the helmet is called a "Mitsnefet" (Witch Hat in Hebrew). It's meant to break the silhouette of the helmet and you can very easily attach branches and leafs to it, allowing you to be harder to spot when you hide near bushes and trees.
Beacuse the amount of money and time needed to get even half the rosters open and leveled up for passives is wayy to grindy and wayyyy too expensive. Compared to any other character focused competitive game. We're talking 12-15$ per character and season pass locked characters costing 60$ in total. This kind of pricing makes R6 Siege look child friendly Paladins another F2P game is very generous with its hero pricing for in game currency, and is even more cost saving when buying hero bundles. If f2p's live off player retention and player numbers, being excessively greedy keeps even whales away, and being excessively grindy to get to the main appeal of your game (the operators) then people burn out before getting to the fun depth that comes from having multiple characters maxed out.
The design of the cover mechanics and lack of leaning were an intentional choice by the developers. They tend to release blogs going over design choices and the like with the game every now and then.
I love Caliber. It features a nice variety of special operations units from all over the world with their signature weapons like the DevGru with the HK 416A5, the MP7 and the Sig P226 MK25 Navy.
I really like this game, but i get like 300 ping on this game unfortunately. Im used to having bad ping since companies rarely support south asia as a server region, but this game is especially unoptimized for people far away from servers
When you brought up SOCOM, depression...I remember the multiplayer for a SOCOM game on PS3 that I absolutely loved and enjoyed. Not even a month later it shut down. At least I got a taste even if I was late.
Thank you Anthony, I am enjoying your video here, you are fun and funny. I have had this game for like 3 months but never really played it, because I have trouble trying to LEARN the mechanics at the beginning of a game, like the menu, character setup, etc., etc., etc., etc. I play COD but don't really like it! I'm and OLD man, almost 80. So it is too fast for me most of the time!!! But seeing some game play now I will TRY IT.
a machine gun with ammo is over 10 kilograms at best, an AT-RPG is also about 7 to 15 kilograms, can you imagine having to carry both at the same time?
This game reminds me a lot of an old F2P game called Ghost Recon Online from like 2012. Used to love that game because I was a huge GRAW fan. The slightly in the future but with still familiar guns was an awesome concept. Didn’t even know caliber was a game until this video and I’m installing it atm. Looks fun but the queue times hopefully don’t kill the vibe for me.
Executing an enemy in annihilation gives 2 points on top of the kill that you did so in total is 3. Recruits are very bad. DO NOT USE RECRUITS EVER. Stamina is problematic for new players as a veteran i recommend getting VELOUR as first operator (RAID FRENCH OPERATOR) make him level 12 to get LEVEL 3 SNUG FIT SKILL How skills work in this game: Each operator has its own PERSONAL SKILL : example VELOUR has SNUG FIT (gives 8 stamina / sec if your armor is full) Each personal skill can be equipped on any other operator Each skill has levels , Level 1 , Level 2 , Level 2 (white / green / blue) Also each operator in order to equip more skills you have to level them up further at level 3 you can equip 1 skill and level 7 you can 2 at level 11 you can 3 and at max level you can have 4 skills equipped. SKILLS CHANGE THE GAME COMPLETLY ! TTK changes as well with some skills and combinations. You want a call of duty experience ? Just Run the skills : Readiness , Counterattack and Heavy Barrel (all skills stack BTW 45% damage increase in total) The way to make these max you have to make that current operator that has that personal skill level 12 Basically you need XP and CREDITS to level up an operator. 'This is not a new player friendly game. A max level martelo (15) that has 4 best skills on him can really solo the entire enemy team and can execute enemies instantly also each execution gives him HP / STAMINA and an extra shield that has 40HP. He is one of the best annihilation operators in the game. An average new player to get skills that are actually worth it... can take around 1-2 months of playing EVERY DAY doing dailies and WEEKLIES for the credits. Getting started with a proper build for an operator ... takes 4 OPERATORS to LEVEL 12 and the main OPERATOR level 15 to max an operator you need 420.000 credits, you can get up to 300.000 credits per week by doing the weeklies and dailies (weeklies give the most) As for the battlepass... there are events that award 1000 coins.... sometimes more.... and you can save up the coins to get at least 1-2 battle pass operators...
this game has more players than youd think, especially since coming to steam. the problem is that the only mode thats actively played is showdown. even ranked is big dead
It's been SOOOO long since we got one of these videos, im pumped! Also i played Caliber before, it was interesting and i enjoyed my limited time with it, the developers are REALLY dedicated to the game to the point my steam feed got bombarded with updates for the game almost daily, which saddens me because what pushed me off was the outrageous microtransaction prices (The battlepasses are divided into 4 parts, costing 15 BUCKS EACH) and the very obvious mobile tier pay2win bullshit. Once im off work i'll surely be giving this bad boy a watch, would love if you could review Farlight 84, it's honestly the most silent f2p hit of the year (regular 20k+ players on steam), it's a third person battle royale mobile port that's like the offspring of a one night fling between Apex and Fortnite, it's honestly fun as hell and it's like 10 gigs lmao, would love to know what you think about it!
I remember before Caliber was added to steam you had to obtain it in the main website and they never had a tutorial where u get your first operator you started as recruit just like rainbow six siege and grind money for your first operator XD😂 but hey at least new players can experience their first operators
What are we playing today... ok looks cool I'll have to check it out. Yes, thank you I agree about battlebit and it's insta-kill gameplay. I was really excited for it to.
Hey anthony, nice video as usual! Looks really cool and ive never heard of it. I also have suggestion, dont know if you ever played hunt showdown but you could give that obe a shot. Wayyyy too good for the comparatively small playercount, and literally the best multiplayer shooter i ever played. Maybe you would like it aswell!
It looks great and i love the old socom games but this game reminds me more of metal gear with the perspective change to fpp when aiming.. i will play this game 100%
its not that i dont want play this game ,but i cant even play , everytime i click play its only appear black screen loading idk what happened , i try reinstal still like that
Not sure if it's just me, but Caliber seems to be horribly optimised on mid-range PCs, I've got a 3050 but I can barely scratch 60fps during the slow moments
Anthony I thought you don't review 3rd person shooter anymore? Well I guess this one is new and free but there's a video you make that said your done with 3rd person shooter.
Just because they stole the comms voice over actor, map style and its 3rd person doesn't mean its at all like socom. Anytime someone compares a game to socom and diesnt have lean and instead includes features like ADS and Sprint it becomes clear those people are clueless when it comes to what made socom unique. The other huge huge component of socom cannot be revisited bwcauae society has changed. Now ppl are on discord etc and not in game on mic. The lobby ststem, rdy up, switching teams in lobby allowing for team drafts etc is a huge part of the fun. You would be in a socom lobby with the same ppl mixing up teams and kicking scrubs for 12 hours straight if not more. Regular clans scheduled matches based of grudges they developed in the multiplayer lobbies etc. Ppl will never know what it is to play socom today. Sadly its a wrap, give it up ppl, socommis forever gone. In a very real way socom dieplayed how soft we have bwcome. No game today would allow players to kick other players by vote. Sad
the playerbase is mostly russian sadly, and it is a close community, game overall is great, but has a an interesting skill floor. would like you to make a whole series about it, but with non ru community it'd be hard (i was there since open beta)
This game lets you choose texture resolution before you fully download, so that helps some people at least. With that said, even with the highest texture pack downloaded, it isn't a massive download.
Really, I didn’t try it but that’s surprising. The game is an overly complicated you would think they would allow you to just aim and shoot if you wanted.
@@AnthonyCSN It does, actually. All Steam games have platform wide controller support. You won't have aim assist or anything like that, but in-game controller support is also coming within the next few months. 😎
