It's an absolute joy to play! I'm hooked!! Reminds me of the old SOCOM games. The gameplay is grounded, it's not this whole movement, fast paced thing we got going on right now. It's so refreshing.
I've been playing since 2017 and at first I thought what a stupid game until I invested some time and realized it's a gem. Especially in the last two years, when they improved a lot and there was even a period of first-person gameplay. And the develepori listen to the players a lot and sort out what's wrong

@Tomographic :D oh my you got me giggling like a fangirl for replying. It's basically a full Rework. It just used to be a "kill bosses and then a big boss while getting random loot". Now they Split the Map into 4 Sectors, with each increasing difficulty and each a boss. In each Sector, you have small objectives you can complete to earn Red Salt, which is an In-Run currency. This currency is used to buy supply drops along the lost ones you can find randomly, as well as to fight the Contamination Levels at Decontamination Stations (you can even scale down full levels now, if you are quick enough). Each Sector also yields better rewards and has higher costs for Supply Drops and Decon Stations. You can also find a new Dungeon which is one of the Encounters (The old big boss from the End or two Events, which I won't spoil if you want to try it yourself - one might contain a lot of Hentai Monsters hunting you) You can progress to any Sector at any time, but it is not that good of an idea to skip ahead, as you will get ...... you know The Endgame is now no longer a big boss, but your team calling it quits and calling an Extraction. The best you can extract with is 50 Blueprints (earned from bosses and side contracts), 5000 Silver Coins you can find in random Stashes as well as 1000 Red Salt (giving you tons of Exp - that is if you didn't spend it all on Drops) Also, they removed the linearity of the Level by giving you hand scanners used to locate the Side objectives as well as Communicators (where you can acquire a side contract per Sector, and call 4-5 Drops per Sector) TLDR - Reworked it, so you have a lot more Choice of how to approach the Game and how to get loot. Sorry for the long Read, but it's a lot they changed :)
You should make a video on PvE as well. It isn't just PvP but with bots like other games. Each PvE mode is a unique, objective based experience where you're working through the maps to complete your given mission. It's pretty fun and kinda nostalgic to something like Combat Arms PvE. 👍
Makes me think of socom and socom 2 on PlayStation 2. I hope somebody out there besides me knows what these are because I am 36. It has been so long I don't think socom had any killstreaks and also I think the guns had a bit more recoil. So those are good changes.
28 here and still playing socom, ghost recon 1, R6 rouge spear and lots of other classic tactical games! This game feels great and has some real socom vibes, definitely worth a try.
Socom 2 is the goat. I've played the first 3 and many other shooters but imo nothing has ever compared to the greatness of socom 2. It's frustrating seeing games that have the potential to overtake it but fall too short to meet the mark. The maps, the modes, the gun play, the equipment... God I miss that game.

Had this in my library, but not downloaded, first time to this channel and first time seeing gameplay, just download, and now, I must play... better later then never.
I'm glad you picked up on the HUD being so.. there.. it's one thing that I couldn't look past in this video haha. The game looks cool but the HUD could be 50% less or something. or just more in the corners.. it's very.. bulky..
Ooh new upload! I actually played Caliber a few weeks ago and it wasn't that bad. Couldn't find any OCE servers, kept running into games and had like 200-300 ping.
Socom 2 will forever be one of the greatest games I've ever played. I see minor glimpses of it in this game but socom 2 left an itch that has yet to be scratched by any other game. This game does seem worth playing (I just installed it last night), but its frustrating to see games that very well could be better than socom 2 but miss too many marks to even compare. Great video though man 👍 Could very well have fun in this game with a full squad.

I can't agree with what you mentioned in regards to there being genuine teamplay, I just saw yet another group of randoms playing 'who can kill the enemy the quickest?' in order to win the round. There was also zero voice comms. Add to that the little girl voices of the '21st macho woman' characters as you fight your way through the map, just making it even less appealing to play. It's like playing your favourite 'FPS' game with your little sister and her pals trolling you in the background. However, it's no better or worse than most other 'FPS' titles nowadays with their 'run and gun', arcade environments and the fact that it's free should guarantee that it retains a solid playerbase. i love this, because i played ghost recon wildlands ''PVP'' for years until it stopped working on PC. very small community, but this reminds me of that, so im all for it
"look at hte size of that LMG" Yeah, Thats Odin with his FN MAG. Its alot bigger than it is good in game. Ghillie guy is Vidarr, his gun is some kinda G3. 5:51, you got absolutely melted cuz you have no armor at that point, there for you have NO damage reduction, and as such, the enemy gets full weapon damage, which for Corsair is like 22, slam in a few headshots, which I think he did and its well over 30 damage a shot, quick burst, pppbbbllllttt. But yeah, Caliber, for what it is, is quite good. Ive been playing since 2020...2021......I legit forget which year I started playing, but while its been a love-hate relationship with getting trash bag players on my team causing unneccesary losses, the game itself is still quite fun, albeit simple and BADLY needing like 10 more maps at a bare minimum. I remember GR Phantoms, I played it for a *very* short time.....I was not really a fan of it. The weapon rentals and the way it plays was just ASS.
This actually looks good. Kind of reminds me of Ghost Recon and Gears of War. The HUD is definitely very cluttered. I thought it was a mobile game at first.

Use bishop's ability to disable their abilities by throwing the gadget also it slows them down. Its one of the meta chars of the game. (i play since 2020 when it was even more grindier)

I have a very bad habit of panic knifing, with a controller, in CoD, so I swap melee/lethal. Once I've used my lethal, a panic R3 does nothing. Until I've used my lethal, a panic R3, which usually gets me dead, works like martyrdom.😂

@Tomographic Ghost Recon Online/Phantoms was so much better from gameplay point. Cover leaning, peaking, gun choice, gun upgrade system. Much more dynamic, better shooting experience. Sadly in this game they dont have all of that, becouse devs are not experinced in gaming, bet they didnt even know about that game of 2010-12, thats sad. Also they always talk its becouse its "tactical" and "leaning" function was too hard for them to implement from their own words. PS: that char can "heat up" gun before you peak enemy, cause his gun need time to get full speed. For Archer sniper you can get upgrade on faster bullet velocity. Btw it wasnt Ukulele, it was Ru "Balalaika".

I’ve been loving caliber. Super fun but I wish it rewarded slightly more credits. Mostly due to the extreme high cost to level operators.

That enemy medic with a shotgun does in fact use slugs. Body damage is meh, but headshots with that thing are pretty strong.

Plating up is so detrimental in this game. The PvE mode is alot of fun with friends as well
I dont think detrimental means what you think it does.. its super important to plate up between fights if you can.

The hud isn't bad at higher resolution. Playing at 4K on a larger tv/monitor it's not bad at all.

I really miss the Ghost Recon Wildlands multiplayer. It was the best multiplayer experience I've had, and totally unexpected.
i kind of like the idea you don't spawn with full ammo, it makes gameplay less camping and you know someone will be near ammo cache somewhere.
