This game was incredible at launch, with almost zero bugs and lots of active players. Unfortunate that so many other games drew people away and that the sniper genre is still more single player and niche, because I had a ton of fun with it!
It had loads and loads of bugs at lunch. Have you seen/read their bug report forum... Omg, so much bugs.
I played SE5 straight after SE4, and found it lacking in some of the features of SE4, it felt like a massive downgrade. Never returned to it. SE4 was brilliant

Another hinders player away is their pricing models and DLC....maybe is good for the 1st world country but not everywhere else.
Been a big fans for Rebellion since ZAT, S.E 2,3,4....but they nerf ZA4 so bad.
This game so hard for a casual player, me too.
Man, I completely forgot about this game! Invasions were a great addition to this game and felt way more unique than it had any right to be. They definitely put fun first when it came to this part.
The dude with the launcher got style, i feel content just watching videos like this when good players fight in good spirit.

@@Scuffed_Gambit Yeah, i think so. Everyone has their playstyle and pulling a panzerfasust against a sniper rifle/rifle can be both brave and stupid. Since both agreed to rematch, nobody was too salty, and the match was interesting to watch so all that is what i would like to call good spirit =)

The snipes, the voice, the content, this is what makes @Tomographic my favorite! Too bad this game doesn't have a 1v1 mode.
Some tips, using binos wont give you the 'scope glint' so you can spot them without giving away your pos. Similarly, using ironsights give you no scope glint, and can allow you to completely blind side Player snipers.
Im 100% invested in this series. Theres so many ways you can hunt them it makes for endless entertainment.
that RPG guy came straight outta BF1 after he rage quit from being sniped at the spawn point, can confirm.

Probably to much work for just a niche amount of players.
This style of PVP has easily been one of my favourites, just the fact the your both completely unknown to one another were stealth is actually a element. love it
agree but the issue i have with this is following: Sniper elite always were single player story games. this title isnt. you get punished SO hard for disabling invasions, like, less than half EXP and shit.
Extremely enjoyable to watch, I nearly ate my joint on that one rpg hit

This is awesome. I think the only other time I've ever seen a system like this in a game was Perfect Dark's 'Counter-Operative" mode. Although I suppose the Souls-Borne franchise's invasion system is also pretty similar.

really enjoyed this game as well, the Invasion mode is so unique. I wish more games would come up with something like this.
My Invaders however never enjoyed their experience - I have a tendency to mine every single corpse of the AI because it's a very effective strategy to clear out the level; and since these corpses usually lay in places where you might tend to walk over them accidentally... It looked like they nerfed the mines to not be a oneshot on full hp anymore, lets just say I think that's a good decision balancing wise^^
Depends on the difficulty. A direct mine will kill on hard or authentic.
Most down though on normal and below difficulty.
Use two bodies. Close enough that the explosion from one triggers the other. Instant kill. Works like a charm.

This mode is so damn enjoyable. More games should have the invasion style gameplay. I remember Dark Souls blowing my mind. "You mean to tell me players can enter a single player mode?"
Yeah, but what often happens is that many just disconnect when they see they getting invaded, can´t blame them though because the people invading are the biggest sweats.
@@aroace7913 yeah i kinda vibe with that. I mean you dont invade to hang out so it makes sense and when your just trying to play the game and some random sweat just ruins all your stealth and planning it can grind anyones gears. That is why i like the option to turn invasions on and off. When i want to chill and carefully and systematically genocide the whole map i can turn it off so some random bumble-fuck cant blunder in and kill all the fun. But when i want to have a proper fight with something more intelligent than moss on a rock i can turn it on.
This was really fun to watch. Kudos to the editing and music choice.

my buddy and i cleared an entire map and booby trapped the living piss out of it and literally just sit and hunt invading snipers. many hours used just trolling invaders

I've had this game for years. Played the campaign, never touched it again. Had no clue this mode existed. I hope it quickly becomes a favorite.

I was not expecting that song to play at 1:53. I almost spit my drink out lol.
I think one of my favorite moments in this game was when an axis sniper invaded my friend and I while we were just starting the third mission (the one with the big castle and the long mine infested beach between that and the spawn) and it was basically just a tense as hell sniper duel between me and my friend pushing up and trying to suppress the Jager so we could push into the main area. We had like 10+ rematches and it was glorious.

I’ve always loved the sniper elite series but man invasion just adds so much to the overall experience and really scratches an itch I didn’t even know I had before I played it

This is one of the funnest things in years in video games. I know Dark Souls had the same idea but in a sniper stealth game it's more tense.

I do really enjoy these kinds of vids, always nice to mix things up, but this mode is also very unique and fun.

I love this style of gameplay of hunter v. hunted, incentivises you to pick your shots carefully while being aware of how you're moving and positioning yourself. Imagine a 2v2 multiplayer mode like this or something.
All I see are two people not communicating, one quitting, then the other quitting immediately when he sees he is 1v2. Ending the game without actually finishing the objectives.
They probably experimented with it and realized the game mode would be dead almost instantly.
@@DamienDarkside Just queue up with a duo like everyone does, who's rando queueing that? Would be boring. Ever heard of hunt showdown? People purposefully queue 1v2s in that game all the time.
@@Jackerlus The majority of all gaming populations random queue. If your game doesn't have the option of "Quickplay" and being able to be connected right away, it isn't going to make the money studios want. It's one of the base reasons why Call of Duty's quickplay always beat out Battlefield's Server Browser, and the essence goes through literally all games.
Yes, I could find someone else to play with. First I have to find someone, by either randomly playing until I click with someone, or I go out of my way to meet people. The majority of the gaming population doesn't do that.
Hunt Showdown is NOT 2v2 PvPvE it's a 12 Player Extraction Shooter. So you don't have any argument there when you are comparing it to a 2v2 Hunter Mode.
We have done 2v2 and 3v3 games for a long time. They don't make money, and the population always dies quickly as people quit. It's why CoD throws it in as a side mode to multi-player every once in a while since the first MW3 Face Off Maps. The exact same behaviour happened, as soon as one team was winning people quit.
You don't have the points you think you do.
