The entire Ghost Reveries album is fantastic.
Best bets best prog album ever recorded
I see Opeth, i click
most of us do my friend.... most of us do... Akerfeldt has and will always be a genius to me.
Surprised nobody is talking about how amazing this reaction is. This is the best Opeth reaction I've seen, she completely got it. Favourite band ever.
About the singer mikael:
he's a pretty funny guy and in most of the shows inbetween the songs he makes jokes and interact with people, There was one show where he said that he would be down for a cheeseburger and them a fan left the venue and got to the mc donalds across the street, bought 2 burgers for him and threw it into the stage where he sat on the in front of the drums and ate while the band played elevator music.(and them he played harlequin forest as the last song of the show)
there's a video in case anyone wants to see it:
ruclips.net/video/jvSb6l-GcJ0/видео.html
Lmao that's so effing great
They are such an amazing live band and really great people. Drank with them for about an hour after they played.
By the way Amon Amarth was there when I saw them. They are definately in my top 3 too.
Wintersun - Sons Of Winter And Stars (Live Rehearsal - Sonic Pump Studio)
Yes, that would be so amazing :)
Harlequin Forest is one of my favourite Opeth songs. However, Drapery Falls is on my favourite Opeth album, Blackwater Park. It is by far their best album.
wow if this song makes you tear up every other song by them is gonna have you bawling
The section of the song that starts at 13:03, I was very pleased by your reaction, Sistah. Opeth is my favorite band of all time, and when I first heard this song all the way through, I was in college sitting in the living room of my town home. I had the CD in the DVD player, playing on the TV (It was the album/studio version, granted)... and as I sat there, this part of the song came on, and it really affected me, and I started crying. This was very unusual for me... I don't typically cry to instrumentals, and as far as I know that was the first time ever for me. It had only ever happened with singing.
My ex girlfriend who I lived with at the time seemed bewildered. I suppose I don't blame her, but I'd never felt so hit my emotion in the sound of music alone before, and I'd heard a lot.
Nobody I have ever known has ever cried to that part of the song before, and I've never gotten anything but amazement and funny looks (not bad, but they just couldn't understand).
I sat here almost praying that if anybody would understand how I felt in that moment of the song, you would, Sistah. You did. I don't feel so singular in that, now. I'm so happy someone felt what I felt.
Fingolfinator I used to skip to that part and listen to it on repeat. How something new is added each round is incredible. Languageless communication at its best
@@PNWTruckCamper i love "axe" he is a phenomenal drummer, but nobody can play that piece like martin lopez did. I miss him in opeth. He brought this indefinable charm to the music. Axenrot is probably more technically proficient and i love him for bringing bringing them into a new style, but lopez oozed musical charisma. Just listen to all of My Arms Your Hearse album. Masterpiece. Long live opeth.
You’re not alone. I was listening to this song for the first time on my balcony overlooking a beautiful cemetery and it was a little foggy. I had such a trance like moment and when that harmonized guitar part hit, tears automatically flowed out. Fkin Opeth man!
That being said everyone should listen to Opeth while walking in a cemetery, makes you admire it more.
The Moor is a must listen to by these guys.
Opeth - Deliverance
I love watching people try and head bob and follow the outro on this one. It's delicious. I loooove this tune. So tight and what a story it weaves. I enjoyed it again as you enjoyed it. \m/
Drapers falls is my favorite song ever. It makes my heart weep every time.
The Drapery Falls was the VERY first song I ever heard from Opeth, I heard the edited version that fades-out just before the growling started! Then years later I heard the full song and was hooked! Seen them live 6 times since then!!
You'll absolutely cry to 'to bid you farewell' and their damnation record, definitely worth checking out
Such an underrated album. I'll be honest it's one of very very very few albums from them that i kind of lose interest in quickly, but i love that it shows a different side of opeth, and for them to make a whole album like that takes some balls. Long live opeth.
I support the choice of The Drapery Falls ;)
(I also like this one)
and forever I'm going to bother every "reactor": Pain of Salvation - Beyond the Pale ^_^
or Iter Impius
She is jamming! Opeth is masterful. Embrace their dark beauty. Listen to Ghost of Perdition or Blackwater Park. Easily one of the best bands out there. Their long songs are a transcendent journey
I love how sistah feels the music. You can see it flowing through her. Exactly how I feel when I listen to Opeth
Wait till you hear Katatonia, Jonas Renske the singer and Akerfeldt grew up together and both bands are amazing. May i suggest the song My Twin by them to start.
Check out the song Anesthetize, by the band porcupine Tree.
i love how she gets so emotional, like me we feel the music lol and it can bring tears for sure. also, how gorgeous is she?? damn
HalfLifeSistah I feel your reactions in my soul...a lot of times, I've known these songs for many years...but I really love seeing you experience them for the first time...it brings back old emotions for me.
Opeth is the law!
His screams are infinitely more powerful in his earlier years and on record for sure.
He still had it when the Roundhouse Tapes came out.. but yeah .. you can tell it's beginning to slip on this DVD.
@@steeefin years of heavy smoking will do that lol. I think he had the best death metal vocals out of anybody. He had and still does kinda have range and was excellent at elevating his pitch and tone. Yeah they definitely have degraded but i love that he still puts in 110% to his vocals. In some concert vids you can even see some frustration on his face when he hits a bad growl. Long live opeth.
@@claudegibson7650 Honestly some of his 2020 performances have kind of made a comeback in terms of growls. Better than the last 10 years at least imo
@@notanonymous7737 i have to admit i love the direction they've been going. "In Caude Veneenum" was incredible. His singing has constantly improved over the span of Opeth's career. Also i agree, his more recent performances were pretty strong. Honestly they could never dissapoint me, they made a huge impact in my life and i hope they continue to create for many years to come.
@@claudegibson7650 Oh yeah definitely, I honestly don’t know how a band could hold this much talent. In Cauda Venenum is imo their best prog album yet from what I’ve heard (which is admittedly quite little). I hope they continue with the dark jazzy they took in this album, and maybe even add in some heavy elements if they feel like it, cuz its pretty obvious they never lost the magic
I'm glad you started with this song. While most of Opeth's fans would want Ghost Of Perdition, I feel this song is much better to start your experience with. Not a ridiculous amount of a transitions and starts out with clean vocals. Starting with harsh vocals tends to turn away new listeners immediately.
Harlequin Forest is always a good song to start people with. Hessian Peel is another good one.
I agree! I've seen it happen time and time again on these reaction channels.
This was so effin good! i found myself in tears around the same time as sistah, i love being moved like this by music. it was beautiful to see and feel. i actually havent heard this opeth song! i cant wait till you do the next OPETH song! one of the best bands ever!
Mmmwwwwaaahhh!!! ♥
Perfect song from Opeth. This is imo their best song
Wait til you hear The Drapery Falls
1. Deliverance
2. Bleak
3. Blackwater Park
4. Ghost of Perdition
5. Grand Conjuration
6. Harlequin Forest
You forgot The Moor.
You are exactly right wolf. Multiple listens which get better every time. Love the King Diamond reference. You can just listen to this song and judge it based on emotion but you won't understand all aspects of it. Enjoyed this thank you 🤘
Haha Wolfs face when she showed the soda or whatever it is
Lol, I am so extra xDDD
Harlequin Forest, Drapery Falls are great songs absolutely.
But the full brunt of Opeth is displayed in the song The Moor
Also great reaction. You two are so beautiful
Sons of Winter and Stars by Wintersun (live rehearsal) is a must!
live at sonic pump studios, very important to remember
I LOVE her reactions. Makes me smile every single time.
Love how she really gets in to the music, like it takes over the mind and body.
Been a big fan of Opeth these past few years. I rarely watch any live recordings, but Opeth translates well in this format.
I love this channel. Beautiful woman that appreciates good music with an open mind.
You NEED to hear those from Opeth:
Ghost of Perdition (live at red rocks)
Leper Affinity
yup
This lady's reaction is always top notch. Lovely vibes and positivity comes from her all the time. Opeth are truly a surprising band. Amazing and really unique.
Thank you so much!! :-* ♥
The wildest Jazz in metal
There is so much to explore with Opeth. I love them so much. So atmospheric, so emotional. Beautifully Brutal Music
Porcupine tree - Arriving somewhere but not here.
Please react to this band. You will be blown away
Great reaction. One of my all-time favorite bands. This band means so much to me and my family. I met my wife in 2005, she had never even heard of Opeth. We got married in 2010, and we used a portion of an Opeth song for our wedding procession song. They are, quite simply, amazing. I hope you do some more of their songs.
Noo not the live one.. Hard for you to know of course, but the vocalist struggled with his death vocals at the time due to changing his ear plugs to in ear monitors, which made them loose a little depth and dynamic. Sad given the energy it brings to the song on the record. Still a good overall performance. Lovely to see such emotions from you btw! Keep it real \m/
Their Roundhouse Tapes DVD a few years earlier are killer! Put Windowpane down for a future reaction maybe?
EDIT: Oh! And you most certainly should react to Drapery Falls.
Plus he was a heavy smoker. From what i read that was the big cause of his degraded vocals. Makes sense. I'm an alto and i can't falsetto half as good as i used to since smoking.(went through a big hair metal phase lol). My screams and vocal fries have also gone downhill. Thank god i am also a guitarist.
She got that soul
Whats up with that channel name bro ?
Please react to Opeth - Windowpane. It is pure magic.
Opeth - Windowpane (Make sistah cry episode)
Love how invested you get in the music. It's beautiful to see.
OPEEEETH! YES!
Glad to hear that we are getting more songs from them to follow up. *_Opeth - Blackwater Park_* also needs to be mentioned in relation to this- :)
Opeth throws a lot at you. Reminds me of Porcupine Tree. I like the songs more each time I listen and keep finding something else to focus on.Both of you are the best and I wish the world had a lot more people like you.
Opeth - The drapery falls yes!!!!
We sure wanna see The Drapery Falls reaction!!
And for Devin Townsend i recommend the song Deadhead live at the Royal Albert Hall. His vocals on that performance are out of this world, i've never seen anything like that!
I am sure that they would love that song and especially that performance at the Royal Albert Hall, please do it :)
Harvest and Burden is two emotional songs with Opeth. Good stuff
One of my fave songs by them! I love their style. The transitions between the music styles is part of why I like them. The lengths of the songs is another reason. I know you commented on that before starting the video but with Opeth Im never disappointed that they're so long💚
Lol Mikael is know as one of the best if not the best growler of all time xd. So Amon's vocalist having similar growls to Akerfelt is a MASSIVE compliment to Amon's vocalist and not the other way around XD.
I don't know if I am in the minority or not, but I reeeally dig the current AMORPHIS vocalist's growling voice. Will not go try to recommend any songs, as it would be as well as starting an avalanche with me. :)))
OPETH IS LIFE!!!! I've been listening to all styles of Death & Black Metal for over 6 years, the progressive bands are always a true pleasure.
GREAT INTRODUCTION TO OPETH. Glad you chose this one as the first one. Ghost Reveries and Black Water Park are my fav albums
Ill have what she's having :D
Next to Devin Townsend, Mikael Akerfeldt is my favorite vocalist/musician. Opeth is an amazing band. Ghost Reveries is one of my favorite albums period. And this is one of my favorite songs on the album next to Hours of Wealth. Such a beautiful song. That line "If they die alone, with no one by their side, are they forgiven?" Just epic. 🤟🏻😁 I love Sistah's reaction to this. You can see the music flow through her soul like it does me every time. Amazing. This song has that outro you never want to end. 🤟🏻😂
Halflifesistah was enjoying the first course in this 7 course meal. My favorite song from one of my favorite bands. Thanks.
I saw Opeth perform Ghost Reveries in its entirety a few years ago. One of the best gigs of my life. Great to see such a visceral reaction to music I love.
Again! You guys rock the Tube with a great show! Love Sista and Wolf always brings us Metal!
I was there the night they recorded this show - it was awesome. Great reaction vid guys! Now you really, really, really need to do Opeth - Deliverance!
Nice reaction, I like your chanel:)
I got one interesting suggestion for Sistah and for the Wolf, I bet you didn't heard it, check out Myrkur - Ulvinde, that is not something very popular, but I bet it will make cry you both:) it is very dark and melo with black and folk metal influences + clean female vocals and some screaming, in old Scandinavian language:)
Sistah was feeling in
You have GOT to LOVE Sistah's energy!! it's infectious!
Please more Opeth!! One of my all time favorite bands
It's funny you mention Amon Amarth. Martin Lopez, the drummer who recorded the drums for this song's studio version was Amon Amarth's drummer on their first studio album.
Whoa seriously? That's awesome i never knew that. You learn something new everyday.
Best reactions ever. Again beautiful work
ö.ö
You can't say "Opeth" without saying "Damnation"
"...close to ending it all, I am drifting through the stages
Of the rapture born within this loss
Thoughts of death inside, tear me apart from the core of my soul
Summer is miles and miles away
And no one would ask me to stay..."
€dit: God I dig this channel so much :D Fabulous work!
she would dehydrate herself from crying while listening to Damnation :D
especially after songs like "Hope Leaves" or "In My Time Of Need" xD
Love your reactions to all kinds of music.
Do you know The swedish band Ghost?
Can you react to the songs Eternal life or Cirica?
Thanks for your great reactions, and the discussions after the songs. You two are awesome.
"Opeth - Burden". Also known as the best song in the history of humanity.
The "Impressed yet?" look Mikael gives the crowd at 12:21...
LOL HAHAHAHAHAHAH
@@henriquetorresdasilveira6727Bro. It's been three weeks since you replied... but you _still_ need to calm down.
i LOVE how Wolf is describing and analyzing every bit of the song and putting it in a specific context....brilliant!
Thank you for that. It's good to know I am not the only person who cries to Opeth :D The Drapery Falls is a very good recommendation for the next song. Waiting for your reaction.
OMG! Now we're talking! Opeth is one of my favorites. And you're gonna react to more DEVIN! ❤️ I can't wait! Doesn't matter what you pick from him, everything is pure gold. It will make Sistah cry, I bet on it. 😁 And of course, Nightwish is amazing, too. Try Poet and the pendulum (live with Floor Jansen). You wont regret it! Hugs from Norway.
My favorite song by Opeth. Harlequin Forest only gets better the more you listen to it and you see how much you guys already liked it on first listen. Awesome to experience the music with you guys, have you done Dark Tranquillity yet, their Forward Momentum video is a really cool video along with an amazing song. Have a great weekend!!! :)
Steve Vai - Tender Surrender / For the Love of God
Anything from Passion And Warfare.
@@ChrisPage68 Anything from Steve Vai (instrumental)

My first time watching this channel. This woman needs more opeth in her life. Subbed
It took me a few years to get into opeth, surpisingly enough i heard mikael with "bloodbath" before i heard opeth (i was just getting into death metal i was probably 16). But the more i listened the more i wanted to hear because i wanted to figure out just what these guys were about. Next thing i know i was listening to songs over and over and over (you get the point). I fell completely head over heels in love. I became obsessed. I started buying albums, live dvds, T shirts, and they insired me so much to become a better musician. Idk what it is about them. They are such an inigma til you watch other people listen to them (especially the ones who don't listen to prog metal or even metal period). That's when you start to see what they truly are. It's messed up man. They have this ability to carry you through every journey (song) and make you feel terrified, excited, but also safe and very emotional all at the same time. You put all of your trust into them and they never betray you. Plus it helps that mikael is a funny fecker as well. when i saw you become emotional and tear up, that showed me just how powerful opeth really is. I'm headbanging that subscribe button. Thank you what a wonderful reaction. Opeth were also the band that got me into progressive rock/metal.
Amazing reaction, Opeth my favourite band, Harlequim Forest is my favourite song of that album, amazing keep going with Opeth, you can put 1 point more on Opeth's River, a really smooth and 70's rock style
Such a great live performance, studio quality. So much talent.
Devin Townsend also started as a singer for Steve Vai on the sex and religion album...
Akerfeldt also formed Bloodbath a old school death metal supergroup....but alas Opeth have since eliminated doing growly vocals from their last few albums going for more of a prog rock style ...on their early albums it was clean and death metal growls and lasted for many albums it was their primary style at the time with the longer songs taking you on a journey
If you like the growls in this one, you will love the studio versions! Mikael was one of the best ever
You definitely need to look into deliverance...epic beyond words..!!!
Just a fantastic track, Opeth was SO FUCKING GOOD ! It's the kind of band like Wintersun or Amorphis, no one will sound similar to them
Check out Opeth, Live at Red Rock's Amphitheater performing Ghost of Perdition. Killer song. I bought the Blu-Ray/CD DVD when it came out this last week and its the best Live Show I have seen by Opeth, and among one of The Best Live Shows Ever!
True, maybe even better than the Roundhouse Tapes, which has been considered as their best live performance up until a few days ago!
Way better intro than Drapery Falls IMO. Glad to see you liked it. Bleak is also amazing, as is Ghost of Perdition, but I always direct people to Hessian Peel - it's another one that really shows off their range.
Make Sistah Cry with "Blackbird" by Alter Bridge
Heir Apparent off the Watershed album is Opeth at their most brutal. Have a look at Katatonia, Dead Letters and Serac are amazing songs. Swedish metal at it's finest.
Yes katatonia. I was just listening to them.
Opeth are absolutely special.Try Ghost Of Perdition. A masterpiece.
So long as it is *NOT* the edited music video version!!
First and foremost another great reaction video!!! Congrats!!!
Second what keeps making me want to watch your videos is your positive energy and chemistry between both of you.
Third Opeth.... damn it can you just chose a band that I don like?!?! The complexity of their music combined with the beauty of the composition (lyrically and instrumentally speaking) is just explosive!!!
I have spent way too many hours listening to prog and power metal bands (I used to write reviews a long time ago in a galaxy far away) but this guys always surprise me.... There are others but that's an issue for another day.
Finally in a future edition of prog metal I would suggest Porcupine Tree.
Again congrats, thank you so much for sharing this videos with us.
P.s.: I can resist to suggesting something from my neck of the woods .... so keeping it metal I would suggest Allamedah - Algema they combine metal with Fado (portuguese traditional music) and in that note I would suggest Mariza - Gente Da Minha Terra for a music of the world edition, now this is an example of Fado (not the pure thing but close enough) .... and I'm sure this would make sistah cry... btw choose the live in Lisboa video, you will not be disappointed . Thanks again.
Please react to more Opeth. I highly recommend Ghosts of Perdition. You guys are awesome.
Your reaction to this masterpiece made my day. Respect \m/
Yayy! Progressive rock and metal is my favorite! I hope you will also react to Symphony X.
Ah the beauty of Opeth. Glad you guys heard it!
Opeth is life!
such beautiful reactions, you guys are react!
Brought to tears of appreciation - amazing!
Drapery Falls, and Bleak too!! Have you guys reviewed Deadhead or The Death of Music yet? Awesome review. Looking forward to seeing more. 😊👍
"Phantom of the Opera" by NIGHTWISH
Loved the reaction. You will absolutely love Ghost of Perdition. Def suggest reacting to that.
