hello if it doesnt beep/turn on, does that mean it is not the switch? any other ideas? THNKS!
My 1 1/2 year old 5qt XL air fryer recently decided to stop working. Actually, it wouldn’t shut off. The only way I could turn it off was to pull the plug. I ran the problem past RUclips and came across this site. Bottom line, I purchased the switch, installed it, and the XL is back on line. Thanks for sharing this tip. Saved me at least $90.
You just prevented us from throwing out a perfectly good air fryer- thanks very much for the great tip AND the link for the part! $6 and back up and running… truly appreciate you taking the time to post this :)
I am glad it was helpful! Mine is still working since fixing it.
You don't know how grateful I am to you for sharing the video because I always have that problem and thanks to you I fix my air fryer myself. Thanks so much.
You're welcome. I am glad it was helpful!
This is the best video ever! I was able to “rig” mine by building up the slider to make constant pressure on the switch until the ordered part arrived (2days). Was skeptical that I had the same issue since I could “rig” it, but I figured the part was so cheap and the air fryer in video was exactly like ours ( what the heck, why not). Link gave me the part and yes, had to crimp clamps just like in the video, but the switch drops right in to same spot and screw holes line up perfectly. Thank you so much! Wife had already started getting ready to buy a new unit and as much as I could see getting a larger one, it is nice to just spend $5 and use the same old fryer. Appreciate the post and nice job! Helped a lot!
This video helped me!! Saved us! Anyone newly watching please be sure you have a star screwdriver because the 5 screws on the bottom are so small and star shaped that's the only thing that worked. After that it was a piece of cake! Thanks!
I am glad the video helped!
*Eastside Low Bottoms sh*t !*
_Tappin' in from South Central LA_
My son gave me one and it sat unboxed and unused for about a year. When I finally decided to try using it about a month ago for the first time, I divorced my microwave ! 😂
I was just using it when I went to the kitchen, it wasn't powering back up...which is why I'm here. I was already thinking that I had to buy another one but THANK YOU KIND SIR‼ We'll see how it turns out. 🙏🏾
Our Air Fryer XL would turn on and off then just stopped. Saw your video ordered the $5 part on Amazon swapped out in less than 5 minutes. Saved me around $100! Thank you!
Youre welcome! I am so glad to hear that it worked!
🥳Yaaaay, I fixed my air fryer! Thank you again for making this video. You rarely find RUclips videos that are straight to the point, with no rambling b#llsh!t! I accidentally broke the safety button in the process so I taped the button down. I'll make sure to use with the drawer attached and I will unplug it every time, so everything should be fine.
I have the Gourmia brand air fryer (7qt airfryer from Costco) just incase anyone is interested.
Just be careful with the switch button, it's fragile.
I am glad it helped! I try to make my videos straight to the point without waisting anyone's time.
I am glad it helped! I try to make my videos straight to the point without waisting anyone's time.
Thank you so much for sharing this repair!! People like you help keep my faith in the good nature humans still have to share ideas and work together.
Just did the test and it worked so I ordered the part! I had difficulty getting it unplugged, but so pliers helped. Thanks!
Glad you were able to find the problem!
My power xl air fryer is relatively new. I used it once for Super Bowl, then shipped it to the Caribbean, and now it's not taking current. It was shipped outside the box ,probaly the digital pad was squeezed. Can i replace it .
Thanks
I bought the part on Amazon for $6 and followed the steps on this video and my Air Fryer works again! Thanks for the video!
I am glad it worked!
What type of screw driver did you use? Thanks
Thanks for sharing this video. This fix worked for me and fortunately I had an old dead microwave that had the exact same switch that was used for detecting whether the door is open or closed.
I can't take the top lid off. I need a triwing screwdriver. Ugh.... Love the video. Thanks for sharing your help!
I know these are not regular screws. That’s my question. What do I use?
Thank you thank you thank you! Fixed our air fryer, was hard to pull out the wires but I did it.
Thank you so much! I tested how you showed, and it was the switch as well. Part has been ordered and due to arrive tomorrow. Saved us a lot of time and money, thanks again!
You're welcome! I am glad it helped
A real fix and fast. Thank you for posting this. After i tried the test it turned right back on and ordered the part!
Glad it helped!
Wow! Thanks for sharing! I will give this a try. My air fryer just stopped working today.
They changed the screw type on these damn things. It’s some weird tri screw that Philips and flatheads won’t work on. I even have two of those star screw driver bits but they don’t work either of course so now I have to go buy a new screwdriver
Where did you purchase the screwdriver?
Thanks man I use my air fryer all the time you just saved me money thank you
I wish it were that simple for me. My clicker switch works just fine. Still no power for me. When I put the two wires together to bypass, I still have no power.
Did you figure out what it was? Mine does the same thing
@number1fanofkevin Nope. I just asked mama if I could have hers. She rarely uses it.
same issue here
Same issue here.
I have been looking on Google/ RUclips, and I found out that if the switch shown in the video is working, the problem might be a burned thermal fuse.
@@ninab.962where is that thermal fuse?
Thank you man, it worked for me as well. Much appreciate to take some time an share such knowledge.
Youre welcome! I am glad it worked for you..
HUGE thanks for helping me save my favorite kitchen appliance!
You're welcome! I am glad it was helpful
Thank you so much, I just replaced the switch and worked great! Now I’m not going to use it unsupervised for a while in case something goes wrong cause of my handyman work 😂
Thank you for sharing this video, and the link to the part needed, it was as easy as the video implies, instead of spending $150 to $200 I was back in the game for exactly $4.44, thanks again!
Thank you so much. Mine just went out while cooking last night. I'll try shorting the wires before I order a switch. Also thank you for the discount codes to all the shops I love and several I've never looked at. I saved your code and used your link for the switch in case I need it . Looks like I need to subscribe as well.
Only issue I had was the tri point screw heads. Gotta get a tool.
Thanks for this great tutorial. This was exactly what I needed and the installation was smooth.
You're welcome. I'm glad it helped!
Huge help! Fixed my air fryer... Thanks for the link to the part too!!
Thank you so much! This saved our air fryer 😂☺️
Thanks for the video, this is exactly what’s wrong with my air fryer. You rock!😊
Thank you for this video, I was in the realm of ordering something new and just thought I would check, so perfect video perfect link got it ordered so thank you for your help!
First one of these we had, a christmas gift, died after six weeks, wish I'd seen this video then. Got another one, one month in, same issue. BUT, i removed cover and checked out the little switch, and it clicks in and out fine, no issues. Shorted the wired together and STILL won't turn on! I think this model is a P.O.S. is the real problem...not happy! But a good video! Should note though that you need a special screw driver to get the screws out also, ridiculous!
Hi. What type of screw driver did you use?
I'm having the same problem. The screen lights up momentarily, then goes to the E1 code. I checked the switch with a multimeter and it's good. Also, 'jumping' the wires does not fix the code. Did you ever figure out the issue?
Great fix! Showing how to test helped as well! Thanks!
Thank you! These things cost more than doubled than what I originally paid
This worked perfect, and your video covered everything needed for the fix! Tyvm!!!
I am happy that it helped!!
Great video. Fixed the problem. And I’m the hero. Thanks.
And I really had to pull on the wires with needle nose pliers to disconnect them. But they did come off.
same here..even with needle nose i cannot get the back wire disconnected
You can also take a very small screwdriver and pry the contacts up a little. It will slip right out.
Awesome video ! I fixed my air fryer. Thanks
Thank you, this worked perfectly!
Glad I looked on here 1st. Thanks!!! My wife was about to throw our Air Fryer away!!
This was exactly my problem as well. Thank you for a clear and concise tutorial!
You're welcome! I am glad it helped
Mine is not the basket type. The digital display will not light up when plugged in. Does it have the same kind of switch?
@@fishin360 Take off the bottom and see if it is the same kind of switch
@@KennethKlain OK thanks I’ll check it out a little later today
Awesome!! Could you do a video on removing the part that makes it beep? It's way too loud on my air fryer and I'd like to rig it to make it quieter (or remove it entirely if not possible to make it less loud).
Saved me from having to buy a new one. I already replaced the basket because it was starting to chip at the bottom, that's how old my air fryer is 😅. Took me about 30 minutes to fix.
So glad this video was helpful and you didnt have to buy a new one!
Holy Crap!! This worked! Thanks Bro! I love my airfryer and you saved me 100 + bucks!
Very helpful video
Thanks
I've used mine ONCE and it won't turn on. I bought an extended warranty but the communication with the company has me pissed as I have to pay to ship it to them, I was about to throw it out but, I just saw this video. I'm wondering why tf doesn't the company just use a better switch. Thanks you so much for this!
Another way to fix it without having to buy a new switch is to place a tiny piece of foil to press down on the switch button inside of the air fryer
I did this but unfortunately there is still no power. Old switch still clicks so it’s still good, tried with new switch and still nothing. My air fryer turned off mid cycle with 20 min left
same here. if u figure it out lmk!
Do you know what size tri wing screwdriver is needed to remove the bottom?Miness aren’t regular screws
the most important was not stated. How was the fryer behaving when this repair was needed?
My cords wont come off the switch in order to replace it. What do I do? they seem to be completely secure in the switch which is making it difficult for me to remove them
I have the same problem. Were you able to figure it out?
@@fatenabdelfattah1918 i just pried the clips open then I was able to get the switch out. When I replaced the old switch with the new one, i used pliers to squeeze the clips back in place so that the switch was firmly in tack. Hope this helps
This is a great video. Thanks for sharing. Going to return to store, however in the future if I need to fix I now know how.
Glad it was helpful!
enjoyed your video. Do you have a video on how to fix the fan on this model. My air fryer is working but the fan is is not going around. Any hints or help. Thanks
Thank you, this was exactly my problem, your video was very helpful, thanks again.
You're welcome. I am glad it was helpful!
Mine is not the switch. It's probably diffusing size. However, i'm looking for a video that shows me how to get the top half off to get to that fuse.
So these are not regular screws, so how do I take these off? I don’t have anything that small.
very nice video, I was just looking for my speciality screwdriver bits { triangle head our mine. Thanks just need to click on the link.
What type of screwdriver 🪛 do you use to remove the screws?
Thank you! This video worked for me and was easy as you stated.
You're welcome! I am glad it helped.
bro thank you for this video i just fixed my air fryer
Did it have special screws in the bottom? Mine looks just like yours but not Phillips or Flathead.
Mine did not
The screws on mine aren't Philips or flatheads but a triangle configuration type screw, I'm not sure how to remove those ones
The screws on my unit are a different set of hex screws. None of my hex wrenches will fit it.
What is the link for the part?
The only suggestion is that the 5 screws require a star screw driver. Once I had the proper tool super easy to fix! Thank you for the tutorial
what kind of screwdriver did you get?
@@clarissamobley117 It is a five star or star screwdriver I don’t know the size of it it has a T 10 on the handle I’m trying to figure out a way to take a picture and send it to you
@@cherylw6499 Thank you for the response! I typed what you said in and found one on Amazon! Thank you so much!
@@clarissamobley117 I was able to purchase it at my neighborhood true value I actually brought the whole air fryer over and had them figure out what tool I needed good luck
I can’t get the wires off the switch, I tried pulling it but am kind of scared to pull too hard. Is there a trick to it or should I just pull like in the video?
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you so much. Pur switch is the problem but I cant get the connectors off. PLEASE SOMEONE HEEEELP! I am scraed to use force and then break it. 😔
Thanks for the video!
I didn’t see the link for the part tho . Can you send me the link? Thnx !
Thanks a lot
What is the name of the parts that you replaced on your Power Air Fryer XL? Thank you.
My airfryer turns on, but it won't heat. Any suggestions??
Buy a new one
Do you have a video of the power XL air fryer 7 Qt with the steamer on top? It is different from the one in this video. I can't find the switch to replace
Helped me fix my machine. Thank you. 👍
You're welcome. I'm glad it helped
Mine is showing an error code. Will this fix the issue?
I'm having trouble taking the top screws off. What tool I need?
Thanks for the help. It seems to me that this is a cheap design though. Microwave uses the same switch but with a better "circuitry
Great video but where is link? I’m not seeing it
You are amazing and saved is lots of money. We tried it and it worked. We will order the part. Ty for that link. Tytytytytytytytytyty

How do I remove the screws...it's a weird shape screw?
The screws on the bottom of my unit are a different set of hex screws. None of my hex wrenches fit it(and I have a lot of wrenches).
hi, i tried to bypass the switch but still the air fryer wouldn't turn on, what could happen? thanks
Yes it definitely works !!
Thank you so much for sharing this video. Your a money saver 😂
Can we just bypass the switch?? Is it safe?
Thanks!
You help save over a 100% of my money plus help me put a smile on my family face
Thank you. I am glad the video was helpful!
What is the screw size head on
t he bottom
What is the link for the switch?
My switch clicks fine Do I still need to replace it?
What type of screwdriver did you use?
Thank you so much
You're welcome!
So you definitely aren't saying just bypass it permanently.... 🤔🤔🤔
I thought about it until I saw it spark when I connected them and was like hmm maybe not lol
@@TheMrGromble I was lucky that mine was just under 90 days from when I bought it and Target took it back. I replaced it with the same model because I know a few other people with it who have not had any problems. 🤷♂️
@@pouceo Thats cool yeah I just replaced the part like in the video and it works for me
@@TheMrGromble nice. I think mine was a different problem because my switch still clicked so I wanted to test returning it before opening it.
Great test
Hey a bit late but I tried to see if the switch was the problem but it was fine and still clicked like it should’ve but it’s still not working. Do you have a possible fox to this problem?
Did you bipass the switch and check that way just in case?
Thank you so much 😃 order placed
Youre welcome. Hopefully it helps!
This worked for me! Thanks so much!!
You're welcome. I'm glad it worked!
What is it called when?
I did this but now it only works when I pull the basket out instead of when the basket is inserted. Did I get the wrong switch?
Check to make sure everything is tight, including the cover.
Same thing happened to me, did you find a solution?
You mAy have gotten the wires backwards
Thanks so much man! Great video
You're welcome!
Than you for sharing this!🙂👍
You're welcome
Do you remember what thread you used to unscrew the bottom? A Phillips head doesn’t work for me
So, our problem is that it stays on without the basket in. It works perfect fine, otherwise. But, the switch does seem loose in the bottom; I didn't open it up, though. Could it still be the switch that needs to be replaced? Tia...
I would tske it apart and bipass the switch like I did in the video. That will tell you if the switch is the problem.
