Thank you for this video. You saved me $100+ and spent less than $10 to replace the part. Big ups!
Heck yes!!
Thank you, this was very helpful. I started to throw out my Air fryer because i thought that it was done. I can look into it now because this is what happened to mine. Well, it appears. Thank you🙏
Glad it was helpful!
I opened up the switch and found it to be dirty, gave it a clean and its working.
Awesome 😎
Thank you soooo much! I just bought at Target a month ago and I do not know why I hate the whole return process and I think they would require me to send to manufacture for replace which costs postage plus time waiting back and forth!
I really like this air fryer and this so helpful to my family that you posted this.
That is a great video demo of how to fix it. I have the same problem. I have a question though. Where do you buy the switch from?
I buy them from Amazon
Thanks so much I will try that . My fryer is not even 1 year old and it stopped working. I subscribed you really deserve that and more. 👍
Thank you so much 😊.
That was very helpful thank you very much. I honestly thought I had to buy a new one but for seven dollars on Amazon I got four switches so I can do this three more times.👍🏽
No problem, yes I think I bought the 2 pack and I’ve replaced my switch 4 times over the last 5 years.
We have an air fryer! Now we know what to do when it breaks thank you Jeff!
Happy to have helped you learn something new today!!!
You need to see the excited on my face. My T-fal works! Thank you
I’m so happy to hear that you’re enjoying your appliance again
Thanks a bunch, just using the spacer helped to fix the lever that was slightly loose in my unit.
Excellent!!!! Please consider subscribing to help my channel grow.
Mine went out and I already bought a new one, damn I wish I saw your video one week ago. Thanks I will try to fix it right now! Great video bruh! Greetings from Aruba
Sorry about that, maybe you can fix the old one and now you’ll have 2. Consider Subscribing
I'm having trouble remove the screws, what tool are you using? And what size?
I used a small Tweaker flat head and it worked great.
First time ours stopped working ..and this is the first time I am testing the switch..but the two wires are too tight to pull out. Any suggestions?
Thank you.
They will need to be pryed apart gently to release from the switch.
Nice glad I found your video I just repaired my same exact model airfryer instead of a little piece of cardboard I used a penny as a spacer

Do you have a link or a name for the part. I took it out, but I am unsure because I think it says KW3-OZ. Retrieve on Amazon?
It’s called a micro switch. You’ll need to get the part number off our yours in case it’s different vv
Yes. But I've only used mine 6 times! I cleaned it after every usage. I bought it at Target two freaking weeks ago!!
I’d take it back then, mine lasted a couple years before I had to repair it.
@@outsidewithjeff I would Jeff, but like a dumbass I lost the receipt.
Go buy another one and take this one back. You’ll still end up with a new one and it’s just a way to work around not having your receipt especially if you only bought it 2 weeks ago. Now if it was past the stores return policy I wouldn’t recommend that because it would be dishonest.
@@Brotherken1234 target customer service can give u the receipt they'll email it. Just call them
I am having trouble because I can’t seem to remove the cords.I feel it might back if I pull hard, any solutions ?
Try to use a small screwdriver to pry the clips off of the switch.
I watched a few videos of How to fix it .But either one tells me what type of sew driver to use to get the 5 sews out.
I use a small Phillips. Just see what works for you.
Not to be rude or ungrateful, but it would help a lot of us if you provided a link. Or even the part name. I already looked in the description and there's no link.
No problem I had a link before but someone bought it said it wouldn’t work and threw a big fit so I pulled the link. I am sorry.
It is called a micro switch and you’ll need the number off of yours. They are on Amazon for between $3-$6 depending on the one you need.
Mine isn't a Power Fryer XL. But I will check that microswitch on mine to see if it's the issue. Thank you.
No problem, consider subscribing

Thanks
Where do I go to get the part?
Amazon is where I buy mine.
Thank you have a great weekend. I enjoyed the video
You too.
Nice video. I'm having trouble unplugging the wires from the switch... Can I use wd-40? Please help!
Use pliers and a small screwdriver to pry the clip open a little. Do not use Wd-40
Thanks and exactly where should the spacer be placed?
@@outsidewithjeff
So I just realized that the switch is still clicking so I guess it's still good. And maybe the spacer is the problem...😥
You might need to put something in between the switch and that lever for it to make better contact.
we also used a small screwdriver to try to pry off... seems to be crimped very tight.
It is on there tight but it will slide off with some force.
what tool are using?. my standard Philips screwdriver does not work..
I used a standard small Phillips but some units seem to be using Torx head screws.
Awesome please consider subscribing to my channel. I’ll be opening a appliance repair shop in May and I’ll be uploading all repair footage.
Mines is still clicking and my air fryer is not working do I still need a new part?
If it clicks then it’s probably not the issue but to test it you can bypass the switch with a jumper wire to rule it out as being the issue.
How do you slide the wires off the switch. they are stuck on there>
Needle nose pliers and a small screwdriver can be helpful if needed.
Did the same part replacement and only works if pulled out 1/2 way! Why ?? Thanks
Hmm, that’s really odd, look at the little plastic arm that moves and hits the switch it might need shimed with something to change the gap.
Is there a specific switch that I need to buy? I have the Power XL 9 quart.
My air fryer took the LONYE SZM-V16-FA-63 Microwave Door Switch , when you open the bottom of your fryer the current switch will have a identifying number on it so you can order the correct part. I ordered mine from Amazon. Consider Subscribing
I have a Thomson air fryer the lcd screen lights up but the numbers are half showing how can i fix it plz
You can double check the connections to the LCD panel, other than that the only other solution would be to find a replacement which is usually not cost effective.
What tool u use..cause I am can't find bit to work
I use a very small flathead screwdriver
@outsidewithjeff .
The screws are like Y shape...no one sells abit or screwdriver to loosen up..I ordered part n have it
Sounds like they switched what screws they’re using now. You can get that screwdriver head for about $3 at you local hardware store. I was able to use a flathead and make it work on all of my air fryer repairs so far.
Did it didn't work..out it goes 🤔 use only like 5 times
@tinamartinez3197 sounds like you problem is in the plastic piece that swings and makes the switch.
Where can i buy this switch besides online?
I’m not sure, I bought mine from Amazon, I doubt anyone has one at a brick and mortar location nowadays.
I've replaced switched but for some reason it turn on when basket is open, any idea what happened?
The little plastic piece that swings up into the switch when the basket is out inside the air fryer is hung up. Take the bottom off again and see what it’s hung up on.
Thanks Jeff!!this makes my life easier with my airfryer
We use ours almost daily!! They are amazing!!
What type of screwdriver did you use?
It was either a small Phillips or a small torq. Pretty sure a small Phillips will get the job done.
So where do I buy the part?
Amazon
My airfryer works. But only if I hold the basket in. What do you suppose I need to replace to fix it
That is how mine started acting and then it quit working completely. I would say your switch is most likely the issue.

Is there a link to Amazon to buy the switch
LONYE SZM-V16-FA-63 Microwave... www.amazon.com/dp/B0727NZFYW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I have the exact same model and it stopped working a while ago. I will try to fix it now. But i am not sure where to get the replacement switch from. Any idea?
I ordered mine from Amazon. I think I paid about $8 for a 2 pack.
Mine still has that click
Can you verify you have power at the outlet, if so I would still consider replacing the switch. It’s cheap and easy to do it’s also the most common point of failure.
Mine stopped mid cook.
This will fix it most likely. You can buy the part on Amazon for about $5
@@outsidewithjeff Thank you. I ordered the switch. The old switch was dead. I shorted the wires and the air fryer did indeed wake up:-) Thanks!
How much is the replacement switch.
$3
Thank you !
3 months and I’m going through this
It’s a very common problem
Where can I purchase the replacement part from?
I buy mine from Amazon.
I have this air fryer and works fine just the display went out, no lights. Any ideas?
Possibly that something has disconnected on the LCD screen, I would check that with the air fryer unplugged of course.
I got the same problem. Did you find a fix for it?
Does this work for any airfryer or just this brand
It’s a common issue for most air fryers. This repair should apply to other brands and models. Consider Subscribing
I made food in the air fryer then after that it didn’t work next time I put the thing back in
I would say this will most likely get your air fryer back up and going.
Also I can’t seem to remove the wires from the switch. I’ve tried pulling them out with pliers too
Try to remove the switch from the fryer before removing the wires so you can grab it and pull harder on it and you may need to do a little prying with a tiny screwdriver . Be sure it’s not plugged in to the outlet of course.
If the switch does click, what else could it be
It’s probably still the switch. Or a loose connection on the switch.
@@outsidewithjeff Thank you for responding. I'm going to change the switch, it can either work or don't work. Thank you again
No problem I hope it works for you.
I have a newer model that just stopped working. The switch appears to be good still but that seems to be the only problem anybody online ever has with these so I don't know what else to do.
It’s the switch I know it appears to be good but I’m telling you it’s the switch it’s really the only thing that goes wrong with air fryers. And for three dollars or four dollars for a switch it’s definitely worth getting one and doing the six minute repair. Thanks, consider subscribing to my channel.
@@outsidewithjeff It still clicks and everything. I've only had it about a month.
@@braeden9350 I know it sounds weird but apply pressure near the left side on top and the e1 should disappear. Why idk.
Yes, I also have a newer model that doesn't work and it is not the switch.
@@outsidewithjeff My switch was good but the little plastic "trigger" that pushes the switch was snapped. in half. Not sure if that part can be purchased or not
My air fryer lights come on when I close the tray, but when I touch the power button it doesn't do anything. What is it?
Possibly the control board itself could be bad.
I sprayed soneing on it to clean it, and since then it stopped working. However I didn't spray a lot.
My cords wont come off the switch in order to replace it. What do I do? they seem to be completely secure in the switch which is making it difficult for me to remove them
You may have to use a pair of needle nose pliers to pull the wire from the switch. It will slide off though.
You may need to cut the wire and splice the new switch in. It is fairly easy just be sure to get the proper wire fasteners and use electrical tape to keep the wires from shorting out.
anyone else notice that the screws are SPECIAL...tri wing head.
And, as asked earlier...what if it's NOT the switch? No power and the check switch doesn't power up?
So if you bypass the switch the fryer does not come on?? Have you already replaced the switch? It’s the switch 99% if the time. If it’s not the switch then the main board is bad and it’s not worth repairing at that point. Hopefully it’s the switch because those are only $4
Mine work for two week then no light on🤨
Very possibly the switch but if it’s only 2 weeks old take it back to the store.
@@outsidewithjeff I don’t have box and recipe
What type of screw driver? Looks like a special screw head. Nothing seems to lock in?
Mine was a very small Phillips head.
@@outsidewithjeff thanks... Mine looks like a hex but not. More rounded. Nothing will grab it. They probably did that so I cant fix it lol
Probably a torx bit then.
Thank you!

I tried this, i must have another problem
Oh man
What a piece of crap!! we've only used it 3 times and our actuator switch went out.. I would buy another brand
😮, that’s wild.
hello where to buy the parts?
Amazon
Where can you buy the switch from?
Should be a link in the description. I buy mine from Amazon $4-$5
