The first time I saw her I was so stunned bcoz she’s the epitome of a beautiful pure Filipina who covers the fashion magazines and runaways of Milan, Paris & New York. Her asset was her long morena legs.
From Miss International 1979 to Supermodel of the World in 1986. Indeed she's one of the classiest supermodels and mannequins in the 80's.
She was a runner up. Not the winner. Danica Magpantay is the only Filipina Supermodel winner. Google that.

I remember her as 1 of 5 contestants sa Maid of Cotton. Rumampa cla sa Rustan's Makati, wala pang Glorietta noon. Kitang kita ang beauty at sys ang pansinin Kahit tisay2 yung mga kasama nya. And she glides, gracefully, sobra ang aura at appeal. Kaya natandaan ko sya kahit she was an unknown then.
She should be given more credit in the industry and she was sought after. Eto Kasi Yung era na matindi Ang Labanan nang Ford at Ellite. Madami Ang nag aspire maging model when she became very sucessfull internationally. Hindi nga Lang sya mayabang...gaya nung super model natin sa pinas.

Words from some fashion designers, she's one that whatever she wears even a "curtain" becomes a fashion material or clothing when she wears it. I saw her on TV and some videos especially when she joined the competition as a SUPERMODEL she is really very creative and stunning and A Stand Out. Probably one of her characteristics that's she Bagged Miss International when she joined the International Beauty Pageant. But Philippines Beauty Pageants are known for its high standards, a Beauty Pageant Candidate should not only be Beautiful but Intelligent and to most I've seen on TV winners are usually good english speakers. And Ms. Melanie Marquez although not good in speaking english that time she's witty and funny at times. I'd say it's alright, she surpassed all this rudiments in presenting herself, and I believe she did well in her capabilities to represent the Philippines in the WORLD. Love her.
