  • In this video, we explore 3DMark's latest graphics test, Steel Nomad. This DirectX 12 benchmark measures GPU performance with a non-ray traced, game-like workload at 4K resolution. We test how Steel Nomad runs on an RTX 4090 with both DirectX 12 and Vulkan, and delve into the new techniques it employs. Additionally, we'll uncover nostalgic easter eggs within the new exploration mode. Steel Nomad is a technically impressive and nostalgic benchmark. It also fits perfectly into my 3DMark retrospective series!

Goddammmm these visuals look amazing. Honestly though, Gear of wars from 2006 looks as good as today’s games, it’s amazing how well that game has aged.

It only appear aged well when most modern games aren't pushing boundaries anymore. Where's the new Crysis like game? Cyberpunk?

@@razorgarf there’s not really anywhere for graphics to go in terms of realism, games now look like pre renders in real time

@@razorgarf cyberpunk overdrive and alan wake 2 both use best tech they can and are extremely demanding - ofc u can run them with modern hardware - and its good as crysis showed its bad for sales to make people not being able to play the game - also its good that new games make settings that everyone can play those games - i remember first time i played cyberpunk on 1060 now i play with Pathtracing and its amazing how this game scales with hardware, sadly some things dont change like polygons that are the only thing i miss in cyberpunk - it doesnt have that much detail but alan wake does - but u cant play it on older cards

Hi. I've a GeForce RTX 4090 videocard and at Vulkan API (not DX12, sorry 😉) - I got 10,362 points - to can get Top 1 World Record of RTX 4090 at... all stock speeds (as Core 2715 and VRAM 1313) until now!
