  • There's one theme that runs thick among all survivors - loss. And it's not just survivors of abuse. So many millions of people have lost so much. Death is also something that we all will have to face, both among loved ones and we have to face the reality that we ourselves will die, guaranteed. Grief reaches us in tons of different ways and often we're not prepared to face it.
But face it we must. We have to face pain to get better. We have to deal with it, process it, acknowledge it, and embrace it if we are going to conquer it. And it's quite possible to conquer our pain! In this episode we talk about facing our pain. We cannot ignore it, mask it, or pretend like it doesn't exist.

Face the pain and the storm is what a lot ofthe Psalms are about. I would recommend a book, Suprised by Suffering by R.C. Sproul

Just curious, do you ever consider the psychological effects of abuse on victims/survivors, such as DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder)?

They do this all the time.

We had a guest who was diagnosed with DID. These effects are very hard hitting for survivors of abuse, for sure.
