@@Eric-ts3mq Yep, you will know which family is materialistic or not. My parents own some properties, stocks, and other things of value. When my father died, my 3 siblings and I did not demand to get our share of the inheritance according to law. We signed an extrajudicial deed making our mom the sole owner of those properties my parents bought as a couple. We even told her to start selling her properties except her residence and enjoy the money from those sales because it is hard to keep more than one property when one is already old and the children do not want to have anything to do with those properties.
My ex worked with Casey on projects for several years. Casey was so kind and generous to everyone involved. He threw Christmas parties where he'd take over an entire Beverly Hills restaurant, one year adding tents to accommodate everyone. Casey provided us with wonderful memories. My impression of Jean at the parties, however, were not positive.
I've heard outtakes and he sounded like a DBag. Probably a perfectionist having a bad day, but the man had a temper occasionally. Still, no reason for the way he went out.
@@micheleh5269 In all fairness, it’s common for elderly people to have asymptomatic UTIs. Often times, confusion is the only symptom. That being said, I am in no way defending that woman!
As a nurse this case sickens me. Stepmother isolating husband from his children, withholding medical care, leading to a host of terminal (and preventable!) illnesses e.g. UTI, Stage III pressure ulcer, septic shock, pneumonia, and respiratory failure. People, there are reasons why we keep fragile folks in medical care…those 5 diagnoses are preventable with proper medical supervision and interventions. Listen to your medical team…sheesh. This man deserved a more dignified and comfortable passing. RIP Casey, an American Icon!
My thoughts exactly. With the money he had he should of had round the clock care at home. Instead she had him in a facility and moved him several times.
@@CatalinaFOIA or didn't want the burden. Maybe she wanted her freedom and with people in the house to witness it wouldn't have looked so good at his death.
The thing that sucks most about this story is that Casey spent his last stretch of life watching his wife and his kids fight over him instead of having them all at his side comforting him.
I definitely 💯 agree with the children. Casey NEVER should have been moved from the first hospital in Santa Monica, CA. By the time he got to the hospital in Washington state, he had a Urinary Tract Infection (extremely deadly as, if you do not treat it in the early stages, the infection can go directly to the brain.) Sepsis (an infection of the blood. If not treated in the early stages will cause death.) and a Stage 3 Ulcer. (Caused by Casey laying on his back for extended periods of time and not being turned on his sides.) These conditions were all caused by Jean’s decision to remove Casey from the first hospital and Casey not receiving proper medical treatment. These are just my opinions based on first hand experience. May Casey RIP. ✌🏻💖🌺
Ya clearly was in that bed and not bathed properly or prob at all or moved around at all. Prob in so much pain. No way he wasn't. I've been caregiver and I've seen it happen. Sometiems u can't help it cause they just can't move and it's alot. But she just wanted to keep him away from his loved ones and made a awful situation way way worse. Just sickening
Jean is a sociopath and should have been criminally charged. The spouse should not have 100 percent control. No one should ever be denied access to a family member. It’s wrong on so many levels
Yes and everything they did was above board and according to medical recommendation. She did everything secretive, allowed him to get a deep bedsore, uti went untreated, claimed he wanted to be buried in Israel and then buried him in Norway? Not to mention that she's insufferable
The burial in Norway is the most narcissistic act I've ever heard, even in death she needed to control, she did that just so the children couldn't visit his father easily. Pure evil.
"Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars," that was Casey's motto. As a young man I would listen and when older and traveling the world as a soldier it brought a little bit of home to wherever I was. Remember the long-distance dedications? I do. Rest in peace Casey, and thanks.
I can see both points of view and many valid points have been made but, I am sorry - who is the wife of 34 years? Jeannie is. Children count for nothing. When a man chooses to marry a woman, he is bound to that woman and vice-versa. Children from any marriage, (original marriage or subsequent marriages) cannot dictate anything. I had my own little squabbles with my father over how to handle certain medical care regarding my mom, or even her burial, but I realized I was wrong. My father's ultimate decision had to prevail. I, myself, am married now and have a wife and she knows (and I have it written down on paper) that no one, and I mean no one has any say over my money, my body or my future. My wife has 100% sole control over me and vice versa. The day I stop liking or agreeing with this arrangement, I can divorce her and make other types of plans. But in the meantime, legally, it is my wife who has governance over my present condition and future and vice versa. These children were/are/will be wrong. So I side with Jeannie. Was she a -itch, evil, weird, stupid, ignorant... I don't know; that's stuff for the tabloids and gossips but Jeannie is in her right to bury KASEY KASEM in Norway, Israel, Cuba, China, North Korea or throw his ashes out to sea. END OF STORY!!!
Dr don't determine how much pain you're in, the patient does. Even if you can't speak, you can see heartrate n blood pressure go as pain meds wear off. Also, there are things that any Dr or nurse would know from experience n data that they are painful.....YES individual pain tolerance varies, but they'd know the difference btwn what conditions are ibuprofen pain vs morphine pain.
The fact that his wife had him buried in another country is just straight up malicious and wrong. That should tell you everything you need to know about her, that she would be so vicious and spiteful, towards his children that she would have him buried where they can’t even visit him after he’s dead! That’s sad and wrong on so many levels
I agree 100%... To withdraw hydration and food is just wrong! Your mouth hurts so BAD WHEN YOU MOUTH IS DRY THE INSIDE OF YOUR MOUTH IS IN HORRIBLE PAIN...
Jean killed him. She could've given Casey round the clock care at his home in Bel-Air. His children and close friends could've visited and added months or maybe even years to his life. All the money he had and she dumps him in some crappy facility. She just wanted to separate him from his kids. She was so afraid he'd leave everything to them. Everything about her was fear-based, so insincere. Then she has him buried in Norway, in an unmarked grave!!??? He's an American icon!!! What kind of love is that??? She fixed it so that nobody could even pay their respects at his burial site. So cruel and spiteful. Oh, and that fake faint.... go back to acting school you old heifer.
This man, Casey Kasem was a national treasure. Everybody who grew up in the 70s and 80s and 90s remember, hearing his voice he was horribly abused. Medically he was taken advantage of because he was incapacitated. It makes me so angry to see him suffer like he did, I hope he’s at peace. Thanks for all the lovely memories Casey. 🙏🙏👑🌈💛💗
In my opinion the wife and the children both treated Casey kasem like the rope in a tug of war.. surely there could have been better ways to solve their issues than to put him in the middle as the rope.. despicable really.
Why if "he wanted to be buried in Israel??( foreing country, can not recall, correct name of country) why did Mrs. Kasem not do that & was buried in a foreign country "Norway" instead of back to USA? Are his children bringing Casey's body back to USA? Or because of the settlement in 2019 by both parties wife & Kasem children did, his burial site is been kept a secret in USA as respect to Casey?

From what I have read, Norway does not embalm bodies so that they decompose more rapidly and entirely, as graves are apparently re-used after 20 years. I guess she was counting on that if the children were successful in court, there would be nothing to bring back.
A stage three ulcer is considered abuse. As a registered nurse I knew watching this that the second wife Genie was abusing him. She put him in a hospital bed in a house which is not equipped to take care of him. Listening to Jeannie and her friends who claimed that he was fine I knew right away they have no clue on how to care for an elderly individual with his needs. What a disgusting exploitation of an elderly wealthy man what a sad ending he had.
Did you notice what the friend said/did as she gave the tour and she showed where his so-called hospital bed was? At the foot of the double bed in a small bedroom. She motioned and said ‘His bed was right here.’ No chance a hospital bed wld fit in that room- esp once you consider all the other DME that wld be necessary. Also, with a Stage 3, he’d have a higher level pressure relieving mattress which generally takes up more space. Ohhhhhh, how I wish I cldve been there to ask her to name the manufacturer. That’s something an active caregiver wld know. It’s written all over the frame and the mattress.
At first, I don’t necessarily blame anyone for not having full knowledge of how to care for someone with tremendous and specific needs. But then, a normal person does all they can to find out! This clearly wasn’t a priority for his wife (or her friends, I guess, either).
I couldn’t handle my aunt’s end of life care by myself and she wanted to be at home, so we hired a home hospice service. Someone (a CNA or lpn) was with her (and me!) at all times and once a day an RN would stop in and look over everything. Most people aren’t equipped to handle end of life care. That’s why hospices, home healthcare workers, and nursing homes exist. To keep patients as comfortable as possible and families sane.
“He looked at me and he was scared to death.”.... yeah, of you lady. Narcissists destroy everything. Those poor kids, they did the best they could for their father! I’ve been taking care of the elderly for over Eighteen years, and he was in horrible shape! “The tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.” That woman is wicked!!!
As a nurse I can say from personal experience I would believe she was committing elder ab*se. A stage 3 pressure ulcer and UTI are directly related to poor care over at least several days. Absolutely deplorable... the worst part about my job is not death but the family members who torment someone at the end.
ICU nurse here and I fully agree!! Also, for her to move him in the middle of the night, (plus stopping his abx from the facility for the UTI no doubt) surely shortened his life drastically. His wife killed him medically and he couldn't speak for himself. Keeping his kids from visiting and the buriel was just cruel above and beyond.
Totally agree. When she said that it was a lie that no one told her the risk of disconnecting him from his IV and Gtube I knew for a fact she was lying. There is no way medical staff just complied to her request without giving her the risks of that decision
@@katetruthseeker2758 it doesn’t matter. Oh wow. His wife is out of her mind if she thinks people believe that bs story. His children had every right to fight for their father. His wife's carelessness, whether intentional or not, led to his death. What a tragedy.
Why couldn’t they all split the money so that everyone was happy. There was more than enough to go around. My fathers family did the same thing to me. People are so greedy!
@@AlabasterJar7 You pretty much answered your own question: She needed him to die BEFORE reviewing/updating his will, and she WAS NOT going to let that happen!!! NOW, they all get to split less $$$...
THE FACT THAT Jean would not let his children visit Casey tells me without a doubt the type of controlling, divisive and greedy individual she truly is.
Yes but the kids were doing sneaky things too. What’s the deal with whisking him off to a UPS store and having legal documents ready for him to sign? I worked in a nursing home also, as the social worker, and many times caught people trying to get the “soon to die” patient to sign legal paperwork. Both sides are guilty in this. Also if someone is at end of life you aren’t going to be treating most ailments.
I worked as a home health aid for a short time, but I still remember my training. In order to avoid Pressure Ulcers (Bed Sores), you must reposition the person at least every two hours. If his bed sores were to the bone, that would mean he was not taken care of at all! Jeannie and her friend Shasta are MONSTERS!!!
As a wife and mom in a blended family I literally CAN'T fathom any kids yours, mine, or ours being denied access to either myself or my husband if we were sick! I was in hospital for 7 months following a traumatic head injury. It was during the height of Covid so Noone could visit. I wouldn't wish that loneliness on anyone!
They were allowed to see him in the beginning until they made a chaotic interference. Liberty is a biological daughter, too...but you dont hear anything from her. Also, Casey was with was happily living with his 2nd family.
It’s instantly obvious his wife is lying. She comes across as a vengeful and selfish control freak who couldn’t handle Casey’s health, but also wanted to punish his kids by withholding him from them. It’s truly sad how times like these can bring out the worst in people.
Exactly my thoughts. Also - I can’t believe she never gifted a home to her “ long time best friend “. She knew when she was answering phones why she was there . Actress sociopath.
Unfortunately things like this happen too often. A rich man with grown children marries a second time and the second wife tries to keep him from his children.
I can’t help but notice hardly anyone mentioning how this wonderful man was pulled around chaotically like a piece of property on his death bed. What a horrific way to end your life.
Exactly .. nonetheless it was negligence on all involved.. and as much the doctors as the family really.. I know I know.. doctors only have so many rights .. but still .. if they were more convincing maybe he would have stayed put and got better .. who knows.. rip to the legend
I’m sure the doctors knew the chaos he was subjected to and realistically Casey was probably declining in health because of it…. It wouldn’t surprise me if the doctors gave an okay order to just end it all for him considering it’s a grey area easily approvable with his declining health on paper & more humane to put him out of his misery then continue the charade.
This episode was released when Scientology still had a good PR grip on the media, but it's worth mentioning that the children are heavily involved in the Church of Scientology. Jean's actions were absolutely questionable, but we're also dealing with a financially abusive religious cult.
That makes the children’s behavior seem more in line with how manipulative they were. It’s very clear all they were interested in was his money, and the cos definitely wanted to get their hands on it.
If you go do some research you will find over and over that the children have said repeatedly they are not members of Scientology. This comes from Jean, and she makes this claim because Kerri has STUDIED numerous religions including Scientology…
Children always will blame the stepmother, my advise: keep monsters children away, 90% of them are demons! I passed for theater experience, people just talked without knowing nothing, shame on them!
The fact the kids still called his crazy wife and gave her 5min to say goodbye, says a lot about them. It's obvious she was not going to do the same for them!
I used to listen to him until my parents moved us across the different states. He has a lovely radio voice, you never get sick and tired of him on air . He will be missed!
She was so ridiculous, fake, and over the top through the whole video, but to finish it off with that "faint" at 38:48 was just the icing on the cake. That's how you pretend to faint when you've only ever seen it in decades-old movies.
Even then, it can go "sideways" as they say nowadays. As you can see, Kasem's kids had legal documentation, including video, and they still couldn't prevent the spouse from doing what she wanted.
yep, my bff just reminded me of that the other day. After watching this, plus how contentious my own parents were towards the end, I will work on that asap

Casey wasn't ready to say goodbye. He could have lived much longer. How do you take someone away from the loving care of his wife and family and starve and dehydrate them to death???
Casey was not at end of life. He responded well to treatment, was alert, cognizant, knew who he was, where he was, carried on a conversation with a Washington State police officer, was very upset that the children from his first marriage were involved in his business, and protested bitterly about being removed from the loving care of his wife and daughter.

I wanted to give Jean the benefit of the doubt at first (having just experienced watching a loved one die, and making some very hard decisions) but... Her actions of; going against the Dr's, moving him around, him trying to escape her care legally, and of course her isolating him from his family, and hiding his gravesite, just shows what a malignant narcissist she is. The first thing an abuser does, is isolate their victim. When you love someone who is dying, you do everything you can to comfort them physically and emotionally. You also notify others who love them, to come and say their goodbyes. She was a trophy wife, knew it, likely resented playing the role and riding his coattails after a while but stuck with it for the riches, and she obviously resented/hated the people Casey truly loved. She kept saying 'I was afraid'... Afraid of what? The only answer to that question is that she was 'afraid' she would lose control of her golden ticket, 'Casey the American Icon', that she buried in Norway for f-cks sake. RIP Casey. You deserved a better wife, and a better ending to your amazing life.
She was afraid of no longer being the center of attention is what I believe. No one was out to get them. They could’ve stayed at their stately home until the end of his days and been comfortable. She could’ve let his children come to visit.
@@ddurall5916 I think she was scared of him putting his daughters on his life insurance and him taking her off of it, or him lowering the amount to something she would not like. She deserves all the bad karma that will catch up with her one day.
I disagree my hospitalized husband was being hounded and they were telling me what doctors he should see etc. where he should go... they were always visiting when he needed rest. As a person who was hospitalized, I don't want company all over me I want peace. I am his wife and love him so why does this make them more capable than me? Because I am not their mother who passed away years ago? Kids need to give room to their parents. Some parents aren't capable of decisions. Where were they when they needed help? They show up after the fact.
She shouldn’t have kept his children from seeing their Dad. She could have insisted on supervised visits. The fact she unplugged him and took him out of the hospital against doctors orders is telling. Then she put him in a private house not a hospital. When the kids got him out of that house the doctors noted many health issues that occurred because he wasn’t under medical care. His wife basically killed him. Imho
Jean can not dispute what the doctor diagnosed when his kids brought him to the hospital. Kasey had a list of preventable, treatable ailments that Jean had let happen.
He married her, he was happy, undoubtedly had a great sex life with her. Who cares what his kids think? It was his life and his decisions. They all want the money, that's it, nothing else.
There was "no" grade three bedsore, only a minor bedsore that was almost healed. From the way Casey screamed he wanted to remain in the care of his second wife, it is highly doubtful he had any kind of lung infection. Stop reading all of the propaganda about this matter.

When he was removed from that lady’s house with a stage 3 ulcer, UTI, and a number of other medical complaints, how was no one arrested right then and there ? If I left my dog in a house in those conditions I’d be charged. This whole situation was a mess. Poor Casey
But according to them he was being taken care of. I took care of my husband, at home, for eight years and he had a stroke. At the hospital his attending doctor and the hospital said that they had never seen a better taken care of person. A person being properly taken care of does NOT have a UTI, lung infection or a stage 3 bedsore. This is one case that shows that you need to documented paperwork and a durable power of attorney expressing what YOU want.
I just don’t understand how there were no charges filed based on the multiple doctors and coroners reports as to his condition and cause of death which would’ve never happened if she didn’t rip him out of the hospital. Not to mention removing his feeding tube and IV fluids which were both needed as nourishment as well as aiding in his survival. Even when the doctors report that was given to the police was read to her stating she was setting up his demise and her answer was “that’s not true.” She said it again about what the hospital doctor said after the daughter got him admitted back. Like nope, your right, the doctors know nothing and didn’t advise you of anything. Yet what they said would happen happened, but that must “not be true” either. This is one of the craziest stories I’ve heard in a long time and I truly can’t believe she got a settlement and not an orange jumpsuit and either bars or a padded room!
I've worked in Eldercare facilities & in home private care for 30 years. That nearly to the bone ulcer tells you all you need to know about how "well" Jeanie cared for him. It's a pressure wound AKA as a bed sore & they are 100% PREVENTABLE. As long as a patient is kept clean of bowel movements/urine & turned every 2 hours they won't get one. Jean sobbing: "They only gave me 5 minutes to say goodbye to him" 48hrs: "The paperwork says you couldn't be stopped from seeing him and the kids say you didn't bother to come see him" Jean: "Well, I was scared to go see him"
@@nicolemartinez5041 And his kids were doing the same, everyone loves to be the victim. But now that the kids got their cut of the money, there is no more fighting to bring his body back to the usa, seems they really didn't care about that either just their cut of the money.
@@catdooley4616 I think that the kids care more about the dad then the wife tho, because the kids were at trying to help him with medical care when the wife was moving him place to place and leaving him in pain with all the medical issues he was having. The kids didn't stop the wife from going to the hospital to see him, yet the wife was petty and showed her true colors when she buried her husband somewhere that the kids don't know just so they can't go see him and i think she did that to have the last laugh at the kids and also to have control over him still, even after he passed..
The fact that she wouldn’t care for him personally says it all…or at least get someone to assist her caring for him. Kept sticking him in homes so she wouldn’t have to care for him. Caring for someone ailing is love.
@@wholewheatstingray Yeah, you turn a single instance into fake multiples, but instead of admitting it, you want to know why I am commenting. I can do that, and I don't owe you any explanation.
She was married to the man for over 30 years adn they loved each other!! The kids admit they never had a good relationship with her from the start where do you think that comes from???? My guess the kids and the first wife!! Instead of working to have a happy extended family these kids were filled with resentment their entire lives!
The moment Jean ordered his feeding tube and IV removed, against medical advice , is what did it for me. I'm with his children on this Edit: In his condition, he should not have been moved. They didn't turn him in his bed, causing the bed sore leading to sepsis. At 82, with preexisting medical issues, he would not have recovered. How can she say he wanted to be buried in Israel, then bury him in Norway??? She did nothing, but play games with this man's life and death. it's sickening
But what would be her motive to torment him in his final days? Genuinely curious, not attacking your opinion. Never heard of this case, but you seem to be clued up
@@suzymoroka297 POWER, AND CONTROL!!! "The tighter you hold the leash, the more muffled the barks become..." She DID IT, to prevent him changing his will before death...
Team Kids all the way - Jean is a terrible actress and her attempt to turn sympathy toward herself fails miserably. She clearly terrorized those kids and made choices that led to Casey's death. The ulcer in his back (to the bone!!) was the game changer for me. Snoopy Nurse Lady didn't notice that??? Don't tell me it developed in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Eyeroll.
You know, I agree with you on every point. I was laughing out loud at her dramatic interview responses. But I have to tell you, if my step-kids took their dad with dementia off to create legal documents that left me out of the loop.....I'm not going to have a good reaction to that. If Casey was able to clearly state what he wanted then they definitely should have gotten it on video, and that makes me think they were up to shenanigans. What Casey really should have done was get it all down on paper the moment he knew he had a disease that caused dementia. As for the ulcer on his back, that didn't happen overnight. Bed ridden patients get them, even with the best of care, and often they can only be managed, not cured. It's likely he'd had it some time and everyone who provided care to him knew about it. What is more concerning is Jean had his feeding tube removed. There was absolutely no reason to do that other than to be switching to Comfort Care/End of Life Care. Nothing else makes sense, because why would you remove it? I can just about promise you (I'm a nurse) it was put in because he couldn't swallow.....that means he wasn't getting the hydration he needed, and I would say that is where the infections and organs shutting down came from. Most people don't live past a week once hydration is stopped. Without that tube he likely couldn't take medications or anything else. By the time the kids got him back to the hospital it was all too late. What surprised me is that Jean didn't say she and Casey had decided that once he wasn't able to swallow his own food or if there came a time when he didn't recognize his family that he would be removed from care and allowed to pass. She could have effectively made a case for "Casey wanted to die at home and that was decided long before any of this happened." Maybe no one would have bought it since she had him in nursing homes? Again, if Casey had made a living will the moment he found out he had dementia, it would have prevented a lot of this. I still think the kids are most genuine and cared about their dad. Jean clearly was being spiteful right up to the end.
@@msdarby515 - thank you! It's interesting to hear a nurse's perspective on this. Regarding the documents, though, I can understand if they believed their dad was being mistreated that they'd try to find a legal way to take over his care. Yes, the method was questionable but in a desperate situation, I can see why they'd do it. As for the ulcer, what you said makes sense. Maybe that wasn't the "smoking gun" to show mistreatment. But yes, I think we're all in agreement that Jean is in the wrong overall.
You've obviously never worked in a nursing home. When one is nearing death the body functions start shutting down & cellular repair virtually stops making healing bed sores extremely difficult. Also, the majority of bed sores occur at points on the body that tend to have the thinnest skin & most pressure against the bed (shoulder blades, tail bones, elbows even heels) so the claim of it being, "...almost to the bone" is an inflammatory statement geared to bias your opinion!
So true. I’ve worked in nursing homes. And those sores happen so quickly. Nursing homes are seriously understaffed, they do the absolute best anyone can do
After watching my fil pass lies than a month ago, I understand both sides but I also went through home health training and was a nurse assistant for years off and on. The breaking down of the skin can happen before you even know it UNLESS YOU ARE THE ONE CONSISTENTLY BATHING THE PATIENT AND CHANGING BEDDING. However I know at the end of life there hospice to help... something was definitely up with the wife though but I'm only half way through this so far. The kids stood to inherit a ton of money in sure but.. IDK 🤷♀️
Ten year hospice nurse here. Two minutes and thirty seconds into the recording, I heard her mention that ‘they removed his hydration, nutrition, and all proactive medical care’. Was he receiving hospice care? If so, this seems like standard procedure for individuals in the end stages of life who are experiencing difficulty swallowing.
That's what I was thinking, too. Having a UTI near the end of life is also common and you decide whether to treat it or not. Some people at the end of life decide they don't want to treat an infection and they just let things take their course.
His wife Jean, left him with GRADE 3 ulcers, etc. Her saying he wasn’t in pain and denying him pain meds is something that really shows her heartlessness. Moving him in a wheelchair had to have been horrifically painful. This interview was the role of her life. She even bought a new white dress. 😂 The coverage was very unbiased.
Her only defense is honestly she was in denial of it all and just wanting it forget it all and go back to happy days. Is that true probably not because she very much seems insane.
How could Jean and her psycho Snoopy friend say he was in absolutely no pain? He had a STAGE 3 ulcer. An open sore through to the bone. That woman is evil. How could she say the doctor’s report on admission to the hospital is a lie. They removed his hydration because his organs were failing. He would have been bloating and in pain if hydration was continued.
What type of woman stops the love of her life’s children from seeing him in his last dying months… sounds like she was trying to cover up some horrible things she did. A father deserves to be surrounded by his children…
It takes a GREAT WHILE TO GET A BEDSORE TO THE BONE. Someone was asleep at the wheel for a long time.Mr.Kasem did not have enough fluids either, thus the UTI. What was the other illness? Another infection? I Remember looking at the wedding pictures of Casey Kasem and this latest trainwreck.I remember thinking, that woman is foolish, because she valued attention more than truth and beauty... I thought all this about her because of one thing- her wedding hat.
All we need to know is that he was in a lot of pain with an open wound to his bone, sepsis, and a urinary tract infection and that crazy wife kept saying “he wasn’t in pain.” She’s an abuser. Those poor children.
Without his medical history/condition, (and maybe a MD), there is really no way to rule a cause of death...Seeing as how the coroner confirmed natural causes...? One thing I DO KNOW, is that they perform due diligence in cases with a sizeable estate up for grabs...In other words, not enough evidence for anything other than natural disease progression...And, blood tests aren't that specific. The tox screen was clear; Which, is pretty much all they had to go on...The state would need to PROVE a case of starvation( not easy in his declining state...) Do I think the wife was crooked? Yes, but I cant prove it either!!!
She was "implying", he was getting pain medication...No way to know. Only "suspect"; Which, is all the state had to go on...IMPOSSIBLE to even investigate(much less indict, seeing as how natural causes was the official COD...) Best we can hope for is the estate is bankrupt by the time this is done...? "Just split the $, and be done with it", is the most rational response...
I took care of my dad when he was bedridden and dying. Bedsore that deep means that he wasn't looked after properly. And bed sores are so painful. Turns into sepsis.
The wife worked so hard to keep the kids away from their father, even while he was dying… her winning was more important than letting him see his kids. Even after all that, they alerted her to come and see him while he was about to die. That says a lot.
I don't understand why Jeanne chose drama, tension instead of focusing on her husband's love for his children and putting that into making his final chapter peaceful. Instead Jeanne chose pettiness, vindictiveness and spite to prevent his own flesh and blood from spending time with their father. Sheesh that woman was something else.
She complains she only had a few moments with him at the end but how many moments did she take away from his kids? She took him off life support and took him away and now she wants him back on?
@@moocowtoyou I agree… without knowing the story at all within a few minutes of watching Jean, I thought… this woman is lying. Her body language was so practiced but truth has a ring to it & that bell was silent.
The way Caseys wife Jean answered the “are you crazy” question at 29:33 was just a touch crazy. Not to mention an ailing Casey was in some lady’s house, in a room full of Snoopy dolls, a bedsore to the bone, UTI and a lung infection, yeah they were taking care of him.
My dad worked with Mr. Kasem in Buffalo, NY before he became a huge star. Dad was the engineer who would DJ ..physically change the records while Casey did his MC Radio thing. They set up a call years later and Mr. Kasem called my dad and chatted over the phone. I am so sad to see when families go through so much over loss. Death will bring out the wildest sides of people. It is so sad! My respect and regards to all who loved him. He was a bright spot in my daddy's life. Blessings to ALLLL who loved him!
Wise words. I feel both sides loved him and thought they were doing the best for him at the said time. I'm English so have never heard of him before but he seems like he was a bit of a legend in the US.
@Lg Star well, yeah but as a person who has worked in an end of life/ Hospice care job, I have even seen my own family come unraveled and became estranged from my favorite aunt for over a decade. Yes, money and greed is a huge factor many times....but in my experience, the grief process can cause people to act in ways they would not normally act and sometimes unintentionally take their anger over the situation (of losing someone you loved so much) out on others who would normally be close. I'm not taking any sides here and perhaps the majority of opinions here are correct, but one thing I don't see is a lack of love for him. They disagreed about how to care for him and what his intentions were. Then that became a power struggle that was kicked up beyond where it should have been. I think the step-mom never should have kept his children from him. Most people would die for their kids. Money matters should have been irrefutable and arranged immediately after his dementia diagnosis. This whole thing is such a mess and I feel sad for his children. They all loved him.
@chasnfireflies0 I like that you are so respectful with your comments towards the families, we're only getting an hour worth of a decades long story and he has children by both of those kids mother's. Both my parents are deceased and I'm blessed that money and things did not tear my sister and I apart cause deep down we'd rather have them both here versus the possessions.
It's hard to wrap my head around the fact that a multi millionarie could get such a serious bedsore when the wife could have hired round the clock care. She is a loon and negligent
I don't know...I do think she probably loved him (in her own twisted way). They were married 34 years. The wife couldn't stand Casey loving anyone else. Moving him like she did was elder abuse for sure. She was controlling and wacky.
To sit there and say "those children killed their father" is about as heartless as it gets. Her decisions, or lack thereof, are what killed him. To even put a fraction of that on them is maniacal. When asked if she called the police when she heard "a gunshot" over the phone she called her lawyer instead. Case closed.
She's acting so hard, she's a bit rust, but yeah, she's for sure the antagonist here Just take a look at any other court drama where thenone that's lying tries to "naturally" convince the jury she's being honest. It reminds me of the bad guys in the 80s movies that are so smug to the point where you want to punch them in the face yourself, she's acting exactly like that. she said WE became the bank of Kasem, as if she brought anything to the table in the first place. Typical perfect little stepmother being tormented by her wonderfully rich husband's malicious and horrid children 🙄🙄🙄
I wish my state had visitation laws. My dad died of Lewy Body Dementia in 2018. I told my dad many times, while he was still doing really good, that I wanted to be there for him, and help take care of him. He kept telling me to talk to his wife about it. Well, his wife liked me about as much as i liked her, and we never talked about it because she flew my dad's sister down here, from Seattle, to help her take care of him. She never asked me, though I was only 45 minutes away. My dad's sister left about 3 months before he died and drove back to Seattle in the truck my dad gave her for helping take care of him. I dont know why she left when she did, but she mysteriously died about a week or two after she arrived back in Seattle. I asked my dad's wife if I could stay with him that night, and I would just sit in the chair. She gave me a weird look, and said "No, she didnt want me to stay". I calmly asked her why, and she said she "didnt want the drama." I was shocked as hell by what she said, but I didnt want to start trouble, so I just left. I cussed her out for 45 minutes, while driving home. Next day, she calls me, and tells me to get back down there right away because he'd taken a turn for the worse. I immediately went back down there, and I was able to tell him, "Dad, I'm here." He whispered part of my name, but eyes no longer focused. They looked like they were frightened and searching. Right after that, he fell into a coma. I stayed that night, sitting in a chair next to him. I touched nothing, ate nothing, removed my shoes at the door, brought a day pack with a change of clothes, so I made no messes either. I asked for nothin and made no noise. I just listened to my dad's tortured breathing all night. I wanted to have as much time with him as I could. In the morning, my dad was in the final stages of dying...at 1307 hours, I got up from my chair and went to check on my dad. I heard no breath sounds. There was no pulse. Blood had started to build up in his lower lip. I put my head on his chest and started to wail. I had to go outside. She made me drive home like this. Not like family. She called me back down the next day to split up some pictures, and some other things. i didnt want to go. My dad was gone. I didnt want to do anything but sit down and cry. Things didnt go very smoothly as far as her supposed to be giving my sons whatever their gramps willed to them. She had already promised to give me a bit of my dad's ashes to put into a necklace, then she withheld them because she was trying to use the ashes as a hostage, so she could coerce me to come back down there so she could tell me some "big secret." She badgered me so bad about this "big secret," that I started to think she was up to something, so I just stopped playing. I may not have that tiny speck of my dad's ashes, but I have something better: I have his DNA, and I'm his only child. It also doesnt hurt that I am the female twin to my dad. I look exactly like him, and even our crooked fingers matched! I dont see her or talk to her anymore, and Im relieved not to have to. She was never nice to me. I was just thankful that I was an adult, and out on my own when they got married. She wasnt anywhere near as bad as Casey Kasem's wife. My dad's wife was like the kid who got a ribbon for participating, while Kasem's wife took 1st place.
My brother isolated my mother from my sister and I to directly inherit her estate. Greed is a prime motivator. I 100% believe Casey’s kids in this case. May they find peace moving forward.

The only person to believe is Jean. She took care of her husband. The kids from the first marriage caused all of the trouble. Casey could be alive and well today.
The wife moved him to first Montreal and then a burial in Norway so an autopsy could not be performed. She knew an autopsy would have shown neglect and abuse.
As someone who's currently caring for my 73 year old uncle who's got parkinson's, a trach, a peg tube in his stomach for feeding, no use of his legs or hands, has schizophrenia, mental and intellectual disability, the sheer amount of work required to keep him free of bedsores, infections like UTIs, thrush of the mouth, and many other conditions that befall a bedridden patient, well let's just say it requires relentless daily attentiveness, it is an unbelievably daunting and high level of care that not just anyone can handle the performance of and the toll it can take on a caretaker. It allows for zero days off and that is perpetual, there is not an escape from the responsibility or the work. Bedsores are extremely common, you forget to rotate and clean someone even once, you can be stuck with a bedsore that will refuse to go away no matter how hard you try to heal it and it can get badly infected and cause sepsis. Also at a certain point when a bedridden patient's become too old, has essentially lost the ability for their immune system to fight any longer, you can reach a point where you're doing everything right but it's just not gonna be good enough anymore because their body is just unfortunately going to start breaking down. This is why it's likely the court sided with her. That doesn't mean she was as attentive as she should've been. But a court would be hard pressed to prove she neglected him if it's not evident there was ever gonna be a path back to good health at his age and with his illnesses.
The Dramatic acting of the poor widowed wife is sickening! *Sorry, but I can't believe anything she says either... **_when it's said with such theatrics!_* Plus if she loved him so much...why didn't she take care of him herself? _Especially if she loved him as much as she's trying to convey!

He had 82 years, and he had a long life. My dad is 87, and he has family not living around him because of who he chose to be with. Now that we are doesn't want to be alone. She lives across the street. He wants us to move there and why? What exactly is there left that we can do - sell our property for how long maybe give years and then what!. I love daddy, but I'm not a spring chicken anymore. Life is hard. Losing everything means nothing to me. I'm ready to pass myself. Kids don't care about things. They care about $$$. I cared about dad until he said he no longer had love for me. And three years later, he called me on Mother's Day. The last three years he has had his eyeball replaced and now sees he hasn't got anyone who cares about him. He won't move in with either of his kids. He wants to maintain his mothers home. There isn't a good solution. Mother had what Casey Kasem and Robin Williams had, lewy body dementia. No one kills disease. People die from disease all the time. People will continue bickering about assets instead of having time spent with a real awesome person. Money is not everything. It causes problems.
Notice how that woman said "I'm not going to quit. I'm the daughter of a Marine". That's not what you say in this situation. That's what you say in a competition. I really can't believe she got away with what she did.
With *what,* exactly? Maybe she said it bc Kerri had been hosting the "UFC: Ultimate Ultimate Knockouts" for years, who knows?! I, for one, can not believe how anyone could *let a severely ill person succumb in a hospital bed, in the worst way possible by taking him or her off of food, water, and pain medication.* A loving daughter would've allowed her father to pass away *peacefully and without additional increasing pain* in a decent hospice facility, or preferably in his familiar surroundings (at home) with the support of professional hospice-care nurses, but that would've taken up too much time, I guess. FYI, they sued her for "wrongful death", up until settling in 2019, though Kerri was the one who got a court order so she could have the IVs yanked out of her dad's severely ill body on Wednesday, so he kicked the bucket the following Sunday on *Fathers Day.* So loving, so compassionate...
You do NOT ever keep someone's children from seeing their parent during their final days. His wife had an obligation to try and get along with his children.
So thankful his kids were with him in the end. The fact his wife chose not to be there speaks volumes to her character. Way to fight for your dad, kids, well done! So proud y’all fought for him!
What really bothers me is the way he was buried. He was taken to a place he's never been. Far, far away from his family and friends. Out in the freezing cold where none of his family and friends can pay their final respects..With no headstone!!
@Solo female travel but being Buried in someone's backyard who don't even know you does. Didn't even think enough of him to put a bumper sticker on him saying who he is.
@Solo female travel She could've still insisted to be there or let their daughter attend her dad's dying hours & asked for police escort if she believed there was potential danger to their lives. All that effort she made to sneak the man far away from his children's reach & hide him in a poxy little room whilst his health severely deteriorated, but couldn't muster any just because she 'lost' custody of him to his children. Didn't she say, at the beginning of this video, that she would "for for him"? But then couldn't risk her life to honour him & their daughter's love for him, in his dying moments?

When my father died, my 3 siblings and I did not demand to get our share of the inheritance according to law. We signed an extrajudicial deed making our mom the sole owner of those properties my parents bought as a couple. We even told her to start selling her properties except her residence and enjoy the money from those sales because it is hard to keep more than one property when one is already old and the children do not want to have anything to do with those properties.

Yeah like his greedy evil children who only want his money.
I love when someone tries to cry and nothing comes out. What a piece of work that woman is
SHE SOUNDED AND LOOKED SOOO FAKE.
She is honestly worse than Amber Heard! 😂 😂 😂
Of course someone would reply by bringing her up. How original
@Amadis Dee is he not bound to his children as well? How do they have no say in this situation?
How could she say he wasn't in pain when he had a 3rd degree bed sore, septic shock, UTI, lung infection etc. That woman is completely delusional.

But according to them he was being taken care of. I took care of my husband, at home, for eight years and he had a stroke. At the hospital his attending doctor and the hospital said that they had never seen a better taken care of person. @@LadyBGoode-gr8wm I think both parties have some degree of blame in this. The man was terminally ill and nobody would let the man die in peace.
I disagree .....he had the money to have the medicine ,nice air rotation mattress and nursing care to heal.....no excuses

@@fin-rb3yzA participation trophy in this case.
Watching this full episode I can say that the wife is totally UNBELIEVABLE
Pathological 🥺🥺
Yep A lying manipulator.
The Dramatic acting of the poor widowed wife is sickening! *Sorry, but I can't believe anything she says either... **_when it's said with such theatrics!_* Plus if she loved him so much...why didn't she take care of him herself? _Especially if she loved him as much as she's trying to convey!
you mean totally guilty.
The daughters on the video having their sick dad put his signature on those document', for his money at a freakkking store says alot about them...he don't look good lost too....
No lawyers, it says alot about them too
, BOTH SIDES I FEEL FAILED HIM..
They fighting for his money...the wife should had him comfortable at his home ,he had enough money to be taken care off too...
THEY ALL ACTED ON THEIR OWN WANTS !!!
@@Faladaena you don't know what his last wishes were. Many people in hospice care reccomend a natural death with morphine.
if she had respect for her father being a Marine she would carry herself better.
A narcissist is always in competition for complete control and they are VERY vindictive to those who would stop them.
Agree 100%
Not necessarily so
What really bothers me is the way he was buried.
I miss him! Every Sunday night here in lower Michigan , they play his radio station with his songs and it’s so nostalgic for me!❤
