We Went To The India Pakistan Border | Wagah Border Closing Ceremony

- When we found out that we were staying near the border of India and Pakistan...we just knew we had to go see the Wagah Border closing ceremony.
We honestly do not know what to say or how to explain what we saw...it was a very serious matter (had to show our passports and go through customs) before walking into what seems like a sporting event... wow only the video can truly show you what we got up to.
That evening our Amritsar guide invited us to his house to have family with his dinner and it was the best home cooked meal we have had so far.
The next day we headed to Chandigarh to see the Rose Garden and the Zakir Hussain Rose Garden.

I am from Pakistan and the Wagah border ceremony is so much fun to watch! I witnessed it more than 12 years ago and literally nothing has changed 😁😅 It was great to see what's goes on the Indian side of the border before the ceremony begins :) thanks for this, brought back so many memories! 💚
I saw that border ceremony in the early 90s and it was NOTHING like that!!! LOL No bleachers. No percussion. No huge crowds. I can't believe how it looks now! Wow. XD
Great video. I only wish you had shown more of the Rock Garden! One of my favorite places on planet earth. The hundreds of statues made of broken bangles were incredible.
I watched it in the late 90s and it was the same the way described it. The government built the stadium like structure later when more and more tourists started coming there. Now around 200 people visits wagah border daily.

The greatest feeling is when they blast patriotic songs and everyone goes down to the front to dance. My mom and I did so, and it was so amazing, seeing a lot of women just dancing and jumping. And the funny part is when after the dance was over, we couldn't locate my dad among the crowd of Indians as the place reserved for Indians is always jam-packed.
It's an experience I'll never forget in my life.
