  • Tonight we did one of the most unique things ever here in Korea - spent the night with monks at a temple in the south of Korea.
Here we were provided a uniform, given a strict itinerary and Buddhist vegetarian diet. We took our time learning more about why they live like this whilst trying it out ourselves to get a better understanding of this way of life.
If you are interested in doing a temple stay at Golgulsa temple you can find out more about their program here: bit.ly/2I3KdPa

Did you know that South Korea actually now has the largest Christian church in the world? My dad was born in Seoul while my grandparents were missionaries there in the 50s and 60s. My grandfather worked for a radio station that actually could be heard in North Korea, which is really cool😊

What a great vlog! I think, most tourists would miss out on this: to embrace the religious culture about this place. Something to learn about the place you're at. As a tourist: to show some respect to that facette of the country, you're visiting. While beeing an atheist, living in Germany. Just to take a look at things and then decide, if you will embrace the whole (religious) thing.
Christians are much more aggressive about that.
