Ce n'est pas une vie médiévale mais dans les villages on a une vie plus simple, plus naturelle et plus saine qu'en ville. Pour moi la ville c'est pour travailler et le village c'est pour vivre, vivre réellement
1 In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. 2 Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds. 3 The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 4 Master of the Day of Judgment. 5 It is You we worship, and upon You we call for help. 6 Guide us to the straight path. 7 The path of those You have blessed, not of those against whom there is anger, nor of those who are misguided. 2 God, there is no god but He, the Living, the Eternal. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. He is the Sublime, the Magnificent.Originator of the heavens and the earth. He made for you mates from among yourselves, and pairs of animals, by means of which He multiplies you. There is nothing like Him. He is the Hearing, the Seeing. 12 To Him belongs absolute control of the heavens and the earth. He spreads the bounties to whomever He wills, or reduces it. He is aware of all things. 13 He prescribed for you the same religion He enjoined upon Noah, and what We inspired to you, and what We enjoined upon Abraham, and Moses, and Jesus: “You shall uphold the religion, and be not divided therein.” As for the idolaters, what you call them to is outrageous to them. God chooses to Himself whom He wills, and He guides to Himself whoever repents. 3 He sent down to you the Book with the Truth, confirming what came before it; and He sent down the Torah and the Gospel. 4 Aforetime, as guidance for mankind; and He sent down the Criterion. Those who have rejected God’s signs will have a severe punishment. God is Mighty, Able to take revenge. 5 Nothing is hidden from God, on earth or in the heaven. 6 It is He who forms you in the wombs as He wills. There is no god except He, the Almighty, the Wise. 36 To every community We sent a messenger: “Worship God, and avoid idolatry.” Some of them God guided, while others deserved misguidance. So travel through the earth, and see what the fate of the deniers was. 31 Say, “If you love God, then follow me, and God will love you, and will forgive you your sins.” God is Forgiving and Merciful. 32 Say, “Obey God and the Messenger.” But if they turn away-God does not love the faithless. 33 God chose Adam, and Noah, and the family of Abraham, and the family of Imran, over all mankind. 34 Offspring one of the other. God is Hearer and Knower. 35 The wife of Imran said, “My Lord, I have vowed to You what is in my womb, dedicated, so accept from me; You are the Hearer and Knower.” 36 And when she delivered her, she said, “My Lord, I have delivered a female,” and God was well aware of what she has delivered, “and the male is not like the female, and I have named her Mary, and have commended her and her descendants to Your protection, from Satan the outcast.” 37 Her Lord accepted her with a gracious reception, and brought her a beautiful upbringing, and entrusted her to the care of Zechariah. Whenever Zechariah entered upon her in the sanctuary, he found her with provision. He said, “O Mary, where did you get this from?” She said, “It is from God; God provides to whom He wills without reckoning.” 38 Thereupon Zechariah prayed to his Lord; he said, “My Lord, bestow on me good offspring from Your presence; You are the Hearer of Prayers.” 39 Then the angels called out to him, as he stood praying in the sanctuary: “God gives you good news of John; confirming a Word from God, and honorable, and moral, and a prophet; one of the upright.” 40 He said, “My Lord, how will I have a son, when old age has overtaken me, and my wife is barren?” He said, “Even so, God does whatever He wills.” 41 He said, “My Lord, give me a sign.” He said, “Your sign is that you shall not speak to the people for three days, except by gestures. And remember your Lord much, and praise in the evening and the morning.” 42 The angels said, “O Mary, God has chosen you, and has purified you. He has chosen you over all the women of the world. 43 “O Mary, be devoted to your Lord, and bow down, and kneel with those who kneel.” 44 These are accounts from the Unseen, which We reveal to you. You were not with them when they cast their lots as to which of them would take charge of Mary; nor were you with them as they quarreled. 45 The Angels said, “O Mary, God gives you good news of a Word from Him. His name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, well-esteemed in this world and the next, and one of the nearest. 46 He will speak to the people from the crib, and in adulthood, and will be one of the righteous.” 47 She said, “My Lord, how can I have a child, when no man has touched me?” He said, “It will be so. God creates whatever He wills. To have anything done, He only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.” 48 And He will teach him the Scripture and wisdom, and the Torah and the Gospel. 49 A messenger to the Children of Israel: “I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. I make for you out of clay the figure of a bird; then I breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by God’s leave. And I heal the blind and the leprous, and I revive the dead, by God’s leave. And I inform you concerning what you eat, and what you store in your homes. In that is a sign for you, if you are believers.” 50 “And verifying what lies before me of the Torah, and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. I have come to you with a sign from your Lord; so fear God, and obey me.” 51 “God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.” 52 When Jesus sensed disbelief on their part, he said, “Who are my allies towards God?” The disciples said, “We are God’s allies; we have believed in God, and bear witness that we submit.” 53 “Our Lord, we have believed in what You have revealed, and we have followed the Messenger, so count us among the witnesses.” 54 They planned, and God planned; but God is the Best of planners. 55 God said, “O Jesus, I am terminating your life, and raising you to Me, and clearing you of those who disbelieve. And I will make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return; then I will judge between you regarding what you were disputing. 56 As for those who disbelieve, I will punish them with a severe punishment, in this world and the next, and they will have no helpers. 57 And as for those who believe and do good works, He will give them their rewards in full. God does not love the unjust.” 58 This is what We recite to you of the Verses and the Wise Reminder. 59 The likeness of Jesus in God’s sight is that of Adam: He created him from dust, then said to him, “Be,” and he was. 60 The truth is from your Lord, so do not be of those who doubt. 61 And if anyone disputes with you about him, after the knowledge that has come to you, say, “Come, let us call our children and your children, and our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves, and let us invoke God’s curse on the liars.” 62 This is the narrative of truth: there is no god but God. God is the Mighty, the Wise. 63 But if they turn away-God knows the corrupt. 64 Say, “O People of the Book, come to terms common between us and you: that we worship none but God, and that we associate nothing with Him, and that none of us takes others as lords besides God.” And if they turn away, say, “Bear witness that we have submitted.” 65 O People of the Book! Why do you argue about Abraham, when the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Will you not reason? 66 Here you are-you argue about things you know, but why do you argue about things you do not know? God knows, and you do not know. 67 Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a Monotheist, a Muslim. And he was not of the Polytheists. 68 The people most deserving of Abraham are those who followed him, and this prophet, and those who believe. God is the Guardian of the believers. 69 A party of the People of the Book would love to lead you astray, but they only lead themselves astray, and they do not realize it. 170 O people! The Messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord, so believe-that is best for you. But if you disbelieve, to God belongs everything in the heavens and the earth. God is Omniscient and Wise. 171 O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion, and do not say about God except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, is the Messenger of God, and His Word that He conveyed to Mary, and a Spirit from Him. So believe in God and His messengers, and do not say, “Three.” Refrain-it is better for you. God is only one God. Glory be to Him-that He should have a son. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and the earth, and God is a sufficient Protector. 172 The Messiah does not disdain to be a servant of God, nor do the favored angels. Whoever disdains His worship, and is too arrogant-He will round them up to Himself altogether. 72 They disbelieve those who say, “God is the Messiah the son of Mary.” But the Messiah himself said, “O Children of Israel, worship God, my Lord and your Lord. Whoever associates others with God, God has forbidden him Paradise, and his dwelling is the Fire. The wrongdoers have no saviors.” 73 They disbelieve those who say, “God is the third of three.” But there is no deity except the One God. If they do not refrain from what they say, a painful torment will befall those among them who disbelieve. 74 Will they not repent to God and ask His forgiveness? God is Forgiving and Merciful. 85 Whoever seeks other than Islam as a religion, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers. Read The Quran
We are, in fact, hard workers because there's literally no one else that will do the job for us. And, trust me, there's an insane amount of work when you're living in the countryside.
Beautiful people and land, but so very very sad with all the young people leaving and thinking they are going to a better place. In the end those villages were the best places to be for peace of mind and heart.
This video sheds light on the hidden beauty and resilience of Spain's forgotten villages. It's eye-opening to witness the rich history and authentic lifestyles untouched by modernity. Kudos to the creator for showcasing these hidden gems!
In my country, Bulgaria, the entire northern portion is like that - empty and desolate. The switch to captialism destroyed rural production and people spent a decade scrounging by in the bigger cities or abroad. And now they can't go back cause they have no diea what to do there.
I'm from Bulgaria too - around three years ago I moved out of the city and chose to settle down in the countryside. Village life is much better. I never had the chance to do it before, but I'm so glad I did.
@@gablan1468 That's very nice, but most people don't have the opportunity to move back again, be it just financial. The rural, agricultural tradition is gone now, this is what I mean. Its very hard to re-acquire it. Everyone wants to be an IT guy who slacks off in home office :D
Great video. I love northern Spain and was married in Bilbao. My brother in law lives and works in Cantabria so I know the region quite well. Actually, that dish of morcilla, migas and fried egg could be served all over Spain. The Spanish government is doing its best to save these villages but it's a lost cause. There's nothing to keep young people in them. No jobs, no opportunities and nothing to do. The Spanish demographic collapse just hastens the problem. Young people don't want to work like their parents in farming (unless it's very profitable) and they are clearing out to move to large towns and cities. I've travelled all over the country and found places like this. Like you, I very much enjoy all facets of Spain and that includes journeying to out of the way places which are not just off the tourist trail but where hardly any Spaniards visit too. I spent some time in the Soria region some years ago and boy is that barren. I've encountered it in every region of Spain. Twenty miles inland from any part of the coast and it's a different world. I love this world but it's vanishing, just as the old Spain has vanished from the 1970's onwards. The Spanish side of my family originate in Valladolid but my wife and I have a small place in a poor village in Malaga's Axarquia. I've been doing my best to document, with oral testimony, from the elderly of our village what life was like in the years after the civil war. My neighbour was 10 years old when Franco's forces arrived in 1936 (the year my father in law was born). She's a great-great grandmother and from her grandchildren on they know nothing about the hard life of her and her contemporaries or the world they lived in. It's vanished along with any interest in it and that is what is happening all over Spain. I really enjoyed this video and I completely agree with your message. Cheers. WT
I live in England the North East Region in former mining villages. [ Lemington, Newcastle upon Tyne] The mines were more or less finished in the mid 70s as I was in mid teens. The 70s were certainly times of arduous labour. My father was a builder and my go to tools were a hugh sledge hammer a pick and a shovel. In 2023 some young men dug up my yard with a mini digger and all the attachments and all the old concrete and clay was grabbed by a hydraulic grab into a 20 ton ? Lorry. I told them back in the late 70s I would have smashed it with the hammer and pick and filled 2 skips a day . Week in week out. Astonishment on there faces. Modern life style in the 80s and 90s with good nutrition, central heating , inside toilets , transport , shopping centres medicine's, and better and better hand power tools brought me and all like me to date. The generations that followed were born into this way of life. With the elders having to adapt into modern technologies but not visa versa for the younger generations. I think it's that way all over the western world. There's a saying .. when the ships were made of wood the men were of steel, when the ships became steel the men were made of wood.
I laugh when older brother tells me how much he loves Spain. He visited Barcelona for one day off a cruiseship. He like so many others have no clue about the beauty of it's varied landscapes and the cultural differences of the parts of Spain. Another brother and I drove from Barcelona through Aragon, Pais Vasco, Cantabria (ending in Potes) and then back through Burgos and Segovia to Madrid. Never thought of going to Spain to interact with expats. Happily the millions of tourists go to the south of Spain and leave the best part for me to explore without the huge hoards of tourists. Me gusta mucho España.
- there is only one thing to do about the decline: open Spain's border to the immigrants! For example, right now 2.3 million Palestinians desperately need to relocate. As their average age is in the 25-30 year range, they can rapidly repopulate Spain. It would be a win-win situation!
Hi Elliot, thanks for this video, my husband and I lived in Oreña several years ago in a small town near Santillana del Mar for two months au pairing two children. The Camino went right past the 300 year old house we stayed in. We returned there this January to see the family and fell in love with Cantabria again. Thank you for this video, the towns in Cantabria are amazing and beautiful x
Thanks my man, Antonio. You took us on an amazing journey, which looked like a thousand years old spain. You showed us a different face of life. God bless you.

Beautiful video Elliot. I was born close to Santiago, in Orense, but I left Spain 60 years ago, and in the US for last 38 years. Those aldeas are, the real Spanish people, good people, trusted people. Good luck in your journey. Be good! Maybe I met you in the row one day. I go every Spring. Take care.
You have brought the humble back into being humbled for me. I cried and laughed with the story of the lost villages. Thanks you and keep up the great work/pleasure!

@@jhoenjet 28 How can you deny God, when you were dead and He gave you life, then He will put you to death, then He will bring you to life, then to Him you will be returned? 29 It is He who created for you everything on earth, then turned to the heaven, and made them seven heavens. And He is aware of all things. 30 When your Lord said to the angels, “I am placing a successor on earth.” They said, “Will You place in it someone who will cause corruption in it and shed blood, while we declare Your praises and sanctify You?” He said, “I know what you do not know.” 31 And He taught Adam the names, all of them; then he presented them to the angels, and said, “Tell Me the names of these, if you are sincere.” 32 They said, “Glory be to You! We have no knowledge except what You have taught us. It is you who are the Knowledgeable, the Wise.” 33 He said, “O Adam, tell them their names.” And when he told them their names, He said, “Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of the heavens and the earth, and that I know what you reveal and what you conceal?” 34 And We said to the angels, “Bow down to Adam.” They bowed down, except for Satan. He refused, was arrogant, and was one of the disbelievers. 35 We said, “O Adam, inhabit the Garden, you and your spouse, and eat from it freely as you please, but do not approach this tree, lest you become wrongdoers.” 36 But Satan caused them to slip from it, and caused them to depart the state they were in. We said, “Go down, some of you enemies of one another. And you will have residence on earth, and enjoyment for a while.” 37 Then Adam received words from his Lord, so He relented towards him. He is the Relenting, the Merciful. 38 We said, “Go down from it, all of you. Yet whenever guidance comes to you from Me, then whoever follows My guidance-they have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve. 39 But as for those who disbelieve and reject Our signs-these are the inmates of the Fire-wherein they will remain forever.” 36 To every community We sent a messenger: “Worship God, and avoid idolatry.” Some of them God guided, while others deserved misguidance. So travel through the earth, and see what the fate of the deniers was. 69 And relate to them the story of Abraham. 70 When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?” 71 They said, “We worship idols, and we remain devoted to them.” 72 He said, “Do they hear you when you pray? 73 Or do they benefit you, or harm you?” 74 They said, “But we found our ancestors doing so.” 75 He said, “Have you considered what you worship. 76 You and your ancient ancestors? 77 They are enemies to me, but not so the Lord of the Worlds. 78 He who created me, and guides me. 79 He who feeds me, and waters me. 80 And when I get sick, He heals me. 81 He who makes me die, and then revives me. 82 He who, I hope, will forgive my sins on the Day of the Reckoning.” 83 “My Lord! Grant me wisdom, and include me with the righteous. 84 And give me a reputation of truth among the others. 85 And make me of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 86 And forgive my father-he was one of the misguided. 87 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are resurrected. 88 The Day when neither wealth nor children will help. 89 Except for him who comes to God with a sound heart.” 90 And Paradise will be brought near for the righteous. 91 And the Blaze will be displayed to the deviators. 92 And it will be said to them, “Where are those you used to worship?” 93 Besides God? Can they help you, or help themselves?” 94 Then they will be toppled into it, together with the seducers. 95 And the soldiers of Satan, all of them. 96 They will say, as they feud in it. 97 “By God, We were in evident error. 98 For equating you with the Lord of the Worlds. 99 No one misled us except the sinners. 100 Now we have no intercessors. 101 And no sincere friend. 102 If only we could have another chance, we would be among the faithful.” 103 Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 104 Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful. Believe in what We sent down, confirming what you have, before We obliterate faces and turn them inside out, or curse them as We cursed the Sabbath-breakers. The command of God is always done. 48 God does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives anything less than that to whomever He wills. Whoever associates anything with God has devised a monstrous sin. Whoever disdains His worship, and is too arrogant-He will round them up to Himself altogether. 173 But as for those who believe and do good works, He will pay them their wages in full, and will increase His grace for them. But as for those who disdain and are too proud, He will punish them with an agonizing punishment. And they will find for themselves, apart from God, no lord and no savior. 174 O people! A proof has come to you from your Lord, and We sent down to you a clear light. 175 As for those who believe in God, and hold fast to Him, He will admit them into mercy and grace from Him, and will guide them to Himself in a straight path. 15 O People of the Book! Our Messenger has come to you, clarifying for you much of what you kept hidden of the Book, and overlooking much. A light from God has come to you, and a clear Book. 16 God guides with it whoever follows His approval to the ways of peace, and He brings them out of darkness into light, by His permission, and He guides them in a straight path. 17 They disbelieve those who say, “God is the Christ, the son of Mary.” Say, “Who can prevent God, if He willed, from annihilating the Christ son of Mary, and his mother, and everyone on earth?” To God belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and what is between them. He creates whatever He wills, and God has power over everything. 18 The Jews and the Christians say, “We are the children of God, and His beloved.” Say, “Why then does He punish you for your sins?” In fact, you are humans from among those He created. He forgives whom He wills, and He punishes whom He wills. To God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and what lies between them, and to Him is the return. 19 O People of the Book! Our Messenger has come to you, making things clear to you-after a cessation of messengers-so that you cannot say, “No preacher has come to us, and no warner.” In fact, a preacher has come to you, and a warner; and God is Capable of everything. 75 The Messiah son of Mary was only a messenger, before whom other Messengers had passed away, and his mother was a woman of truth. They both used to eat food. Note how We make clear the revelations to them; then note how deluded they are. 76 Say, “Do you worship, besides God, what has no power to harm or benefit you?” But God: He is the Hearer, the Knower. 77 Say, “O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion beyond the truth; and do not follow the opinions of people who went astray before, and misled many, and themselves strayed off the balanced way.” 85 Whoever seeks other than Islam as a religion, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers. I live in the basque country, northern spain and this video made me value what what we have, sometimes you need someone from outside to come and say hey! This is great! But, let me tell everyone reading, its beatifull in here but its also tough and rough sometimes, but what are we without some challenge! Much love!❤
That's interesting. I am Basque and I have never ever felt that it's tough and rough the way you suggest. I suppose it's because to me there's nothing better haha
@@Prasad12478 there are many clear, blue skies days from May through October, more or less. You will usually have pleasant weather for much of this period, especially in the summer which can be quite hot, but should expect some chilly and rainy days on either side of it. The region is very green for a reason.
Although unfamiliar with rural Spain, your journey reminds me of many adventures in rural Italy. These are the cultural and physically challenging experiences that can pry open the most closed mind. The lessons I have learned from the best of the human race have been in villages like these. Having Italian language skills like you have in Spanish adds an even greater depth to the connections. But it's the depth of the villagers' hearts and humanity that is truly amazing and restorative for me. ❤ Keep on trekking fellow traveler. 👍🏼
It's been very refreshing watching your video. I'm from Zamora, which is the second most depopulated town in Spain. I am one of the luckiest people who got to remain. Most of my peers moved to bigger cities looking for a job and a better future. But I think that it's safe to say that most of them are looking forward to coming back. I would love people to get to know our land because, as you have pointed out throughout the video, Spain is not all about those touristy places. We are surrounded by nature... we've got a glaciar lake in the north of the province, a hundred-year-old oaks in the region of Sayago, "Los arribes," a natural frontier that we share with Portugal among other things such as customs and friendship. You can enjoy the astonishing romanesque churches spread all around the town and very beautiful traditions like "mascaradas" en Riofrío de Aliste, culture inherited from our ancestors that has survived for centuries. And still....just a few people know that we exist. For anyone reading this comment, you'll be more than welcome if you visit us. ❤
How clean and neat looks everithing...❤ I think soon those villages will come to life again. People will start to grow their own crops. Those crazy times of highly processed food will stop.❤
@@AdventureElliot I hope they can turn those villages into eco villages or transform some of the houses into bed and breakfasts, artist/ ceramic studios, etc. Glamping can be another source of income. Or places where pilgrims can overnight. Living semi off grid is very popular nowadays. As long as those places are reachable by car there are still possibilities of reviving them. I wouldn’t mind owning a holiday home in one of those beautiful villages. I could even live there if other people would move there as well. I would install solar panels and create my own food forest. 😊It’s crazy people want to live in polluted cities while there is still so much unspoiled nature in abundance. People that can work from home could also live there. They only need to have a decent Internet connection. It’s very rural, but not the end of the world either. We need to think differently and see more opportunities.
I'm afraid not. Once the population collapses everything else does too. No schools, restaurants or bars (as seen in this video), shops or any business at all. Growing crops for self sufficiency is two generations away from what young people want today. I love these places but they are dead and dying as Eliot says.

In that is a sign for you, if you are believers.” 50 “And verifying what lies before me of the Torah, and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. Their marks are on their faces from the effects of prostration. Such is their description in the Torah, and their description in the Gospel: like a plant that sprouts, becomes strong, grows thick, and rests on its stem, impressing the farmers. Through them He enrages the disbelievers. God has promised those among them who believe and do good deeds forgiveness and a great reward. Read The Quran
I love this. I'm from Lebanon and a frequent visitor to Spain. I live part of my year in my mountain village in Lebanon that bear a certain resemblance to this lifestyle, except due to Lebanon being small most of the city/town people that are originally from the village come back for the weekend or after the snow melts. The peace you feel and just community warmth in such places is just wonderful, I find it funny how the same people who are not the most pleasant living in town/cities become very friendly and serene when they stay in the mountains
me and my wife spent two weeks driving from lizbon all the way up to the mountains of Cantabria. i truly fell in love with Spain, we made it up the mountains with a large valley along A-160 to CA-260. the mountain roads are very sketchy, one wrong move and off the cliff you go. the town at the bottom of the valley is called La Vega. i highly recommend a visit to this area.
I was so happy to see the Spain the media doesn't show! Thank you. Have been feeling the call but was turned off by the more popular routes. Thanks again 🙏

I used to import Terracotta from Spain and drove through the north to and from Santander. It was like driving through a post-apocalypse landscape, semi-derelict villages and never seeing anyone for hours on end. The EU ruined Spanish mixed framing with its ill-judged support for mono-culture farms predominately growing Olives in the South and Wheat in the Centre and Dairy in the north. So sad to see it and of course the dreadful effect on wild life
The EU destroyed all of Europe, in my coutry Portugal, the EU paid to destroy all Portuguese national industry amd agriculture. What once was a country were people lived of agriculture and fishing, now we live of services totally dependent on EU money...
@@BPGM1989 "Dependent on EU money". That's a tough place to break out of. I look at my sister country, Spain, and I can't see a future for it without EU money and supplication. I absolutely understand why Portugal and Spain wanted to join the EU and had to in a way. However, those two countries are so dependent on the EU that they have abandoned any notion of sovereignty. People can protest about all kinds of things but their governments can't do anything about it. It's EU rules and that's it.
Loneliness effects us all no matter what your background is or your culture. Yet we strive to leave our homeland but suddenly we get older and want to go back to it. but suddenly it's all gone and the people who stayed behind wish that thay could pass on all that wisdom thay had gained but there's no one to share it with anymore you could see that ladys eyes light up just seeing you and sharing her life with you. it made her day and your as well happy travelling
More than 70 villages have been abandoned around my grandpa's village. South Evia island, Greece. A cousin of his told me there used to be 60 kids in the school of their village when growing up. Now it's also abandoned with the rest.
Yes, exactly. I've had to leave messages all over this post to express that. Lots of naïve and romantic comments about 'The Good Life' in the country and absolutely no understanding about history. People in Galicia, Andalucia, La Mancha, Sicily, Ireland, etc, etc, have all left 'pretty' places to find work to put food on the table and lift themselves out of poverty.
Italy's got over 2,000 empty or close to it; there's a place I'd love to go. I don't speak Italian, but how easy it is to learn, as I do speak fluent Spanish. I'll be 70 this summer; it's now or not.
What a beautiful video you made- truly. I live in a rural village in France...and there are many tiny lost villages here too...surrounded by astouding scenery and authentic people. Yes- I know well what you speak of~ however, I have the feeling that Spain is filled with many more abandoned villages than here...and it is sad to see the lack of youth, especially because this balance is needed between the young and the old. Sharing knowledge~ history~ culture, ideas...energy exchanged...anyway- I think you have captured perfectly, soulfully, what you set out to share.

It looks very similar to a Czech villiage I ventured into called Rattaj nad Sazavou. Barely anyone lived there anymore but it was beautifully situated; like going back in time
There was also only one "restaurant" (someone's living room) where we saw the only other people except the train driver for the whole day. Nobody spoke a word of English so we had to rely on Google translate :')
Those hiking trails are well known and see thousands of visitors every year. While the villages may be dying I don’t think it’s a surprise to anyone. In fact, outside of a very few countries, I’d say the countryside is dying all over the world. Most young people would never choose such a hard existence and want to be in cities with all the modern conveniences. I live in Japan and the same scenario is playing out in my little countryside town. The old are dying and the young want to leave. But for me it is a paradise that has everything I need. I feel so grateful to have found this place but I realize that these places exist all over the world (I’ve seen many in your videos) and if you are an adventurous soul then your paradise is out there waiting for you ❤🙏
I don't think it's the hard physical work that puts people off, but rather the lack of access to education and healthcare, for young families especially, these are important things to consider for the future of their children
@@demran17 You hit on the essentials. No schools, no shops, no nothing. It's self-sufficiency and hard labour. I know these places and have a lot of love for them but it's impossible for young people. You cannot bring children up in these places like this in modern Europe.
Everywhere is the same…villages are dying in Eastern Europe also…young people want conveniences…I am 40 and live in a small industrialized town in Eastern Europe but I am seriously thinking about moving closer to nature…only thing is we have 3 kids, 2 of them just started school and school and other activities for children are still happening in town. I know they will develop a lot of skills in the contryside but need to figure out a plan so everybody is satisfied.
These places have been around for literal millenia, but now randomly, people are leaving and the countryside is dying. I'm just gonna say it's harder to control a population that isn't centralized in some huge cities
This is a very good informative and educational show. I have been in Italy and Spain in the late 50s and 60s just have been recently in Spain two years ago. I love you so it’s a beautiful country or countries and nice people live there.
I stumbled upon your channel today and watched this video. I felt like I had hiked up the rugged terrain where you were at in this video and met those friendly folks. I loved the content of your vlog so far.

Wooww, really fantastic video!. U Elliot get always some food and water in your backpack, just in case, I get worried for u during the video. A big hug!. Me encantó el video como siempre.¡Enhorabuena!🙋🏻♂️
I understand fully what you are experiencing and enjoyed the video. I’m from the US and while traveling Africa pre Covid I met a Catalan woman in the eastern Pyrenees. She lives in a high mountain remote area saddling between France and Andorra. So beautiful as was she we ended up marrying and I’ve lived here ever since. I walk these same videos and some even more remote and it is the best of Spain. It truly is like going back in time. Our village boasts about 20 people and many of the elderly are now passing on. I love watching and listening tot he local Catalan people as they are very authentic and old school when times were simple and now much appreciated. Best travels!
These small rural village's like this one and across all of Europe is the equivalent of small rural towns in the US, very much isolated and away from the big urban centers, they are slowly dieing off because the jobs have left and the next generation has decided to leave so there is no one left to take over, all the young kids go to college and or university and then they all want to move and live in the select few mega cities which are now overcrowded all while small home town village's along with family farms and small businesses have no one to take over, same thing is happening to small mom and pop towns all over the US.
The issue is that small scale farming and production, unless it is some niche or specialized product, is often not competitive anymore due to progress in technology, global trade and in case of Europe overregulation and high tax burden as well. Not to mention that farms in the USA are roughly 10 times larger, on average than in the EU ( 445 acres vs. 43 acres). And such small farms simply can't compete (and it is an issue for well over century) with cheap imports from, e.g. North America or ex. USSR. To some extend the same is true for small scale manufacturing, businesses using old (even if not outright outdated) machinery and practices can't compete with cheap imports of roughly equivalent products made elsewhere in more modern factories or in much greater numbers and often with lower costs. Another thing that plays role in depopulation of some areas is poor road/railway network in some regions that gives almost no other option than to move to some large city, even if it is exactly not megacity.
Como siempre Elliot excelente tu trabajo!!! Descubres la verdadera España a todos aquellos que no conocen la España rural. Para mí la más bonita!!! Cuidate amigo!!! Un 2024 de muchos videos!!!😘😘
This is an amazing video. Some of my family is from North Spain and I've always wanted to visit but I've been told " there's nothing to see" it's kinda sad that they haven't developed these paths. Thank you for this video.
I’m from ladysmith Wisconsin.. lived in Eau Claire and Milwaukee. I will have a mix on this channel.. some dangerous places, some strange places, so big places, and many new places. It’s the only way to grow. Un saludo. 🫡
Thanks for this video. Am learning Spanish & hope to spend some time in Northern Spain. Am learning from you !It's good to see you relating to the people & environment.
My family's from Bayamon, although most of them have passed on, and I lost touch with everyone. I still have pics of my visits there with my mom. Plus, dancing in the clubs in Old S.J. when I was older. Wonderful memories
The landscape actually looks like that of Wales, and the village could be in the wilds of Yorkshire! I've just started following your channel. Thanks for the great variety of your videos!
Hi Elliot!! I'm finding it hard for words right now. I started this morning watching this video then kept watching for like 2 hours! I'm from Michigan (Northern) so I resonate SO MUCH with you, only I have been around the block a few times, trying to find where I fit in this society. I lost my job in 08', and had subsequent events where I got stabilized, then lost it all again, two times over. SO here I am, just watched your amazing videos of proof that you can actually do this all it takes as courage and trust in God. I have only remained in Michigan to be close to my son, but in 2 years he will be graduating HS or could be traveling the country playing hockey as soon as next year. I am going to be doing a high paying / traveling contract job for the next 9 months or so to save money. I'm going to buy a used van to sleep in to save even more money and get accustomed to it then sell it. The plan is to get enough money together to be able to start a small business of some sorts as well. I believe we both have very similar backgrounds coming from the northern midwest and probably resonate on many levels. I would love to talk to you sometime if you have the time, but if you do not I would totally understand. Cheers and keep rockin' on Elliot!
Sounds like a good plan.. I suggest you settle in one of these villages and start a shop for tourists or something of the sort.. good homegrown foods.. good air and vegetation.. peace and quiet away from the craze and all that.. good luck byddy
Thank you so much for showing this side of the world to me. If it weren't for you and this video I would've never known about these places. I really appreciate your persistence in recording all of this even on an empty stomach and on top of that hiking for almost 30 km!! Love from India. You earned a loyal subscriber
Nice to have seen this video My Ancesters came from Spain and the Canary Islands to start a new life in the 1500's, 1600's. The came to what is now Northen New Mexico. The people mixed with Native Americans. Things and places changing everywhere. I live in Anaheim, Ca. Life is still, what you make of it. Good Luck!!!
Wow! As long as there is sadness in this video, there is also so much joy and even hope that these great people still exist. It happens in my country, too, in Eastern Europe, but something tells me that one day all the greatness of these place will be restored.
Dude these Spain videos are amazing. Love the way you present the part of Spain which hasn't been shown to many of us. We can only image what the communities in these villages used to be, what a life the people lived and the connection they shared with their neighbors and land.
The decendents, of Old Spain of those mountain villiges, are living in Northern New Mexico. Some of the old Spanish is still spoken there. It is disappearing! They, started the town of Sante Fe, and several small towns. Thanks for your video. I will share with our family. We are some of those decendents.
The present Governor of New Mexico, is a decendent of the Lujan people, from ALUJAN, SPAIN. A PLACE NEAR FRANCE , near THOSE MOUNTAINS THAT YOU SHOWED US.
absolute perfection in a video, with a mountain peak of a crescendo of a narration at 14:05 , full of message of contentment but endurance and hope, during troubled times, all rolled into one, and a calming slowdown of an ending.. this is art, Makes us think " is Cantabria the subject ? " type of reflections.
Although I'm glad you like my country, I have to say that these small villages aren't the REAL Spain, but A PART of Spain. Santander (in Cantabria, as you know) are Spain too, Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Bilbao, Santiago de Compostela, the albufera in Valencia, Bardenas reales, Pirineos mountains, Canary Islands (including Teide), are part of my country and all of theses places are the real Spain too. So, we are not a predominant rural economy or society. If you preffer, we have two, three or even more faces in our country, we are small one but we have diversity that forms our caracter, but not just few villages or country life.
He never said that though, and I think much more people are familiar with all those other parts of Spain since they are very often portrayed in media. Villages like these however are not, so it's great to have someone out there dedicated to document them like this!
Wow, thanks for this video. I did my first camino de santiago on the portugese way over 5 days from Tui last year. I love the aspect of finding these places like it was way back in time. I'm interested in checking out the St Toribio and the relic of the true cross on my next walk through the area.

Many small dying towns and villages everywhere, in every country. Crazy how things change, communities come and go. Sad how life disappears.

35 The wife of Imran said, “My Lord, I have vowed to You what is in my womb, dedicated, so accept from me; You are the Hearer and Knower.”
36 And when she delivered her, she said, “My Lord, I have delivered a female,” and God was well aware of what she has delivered, “and the male is not like the female, and I have named her Mary, and have commended her and her descendants to Your protection, from Satan the outcast.”
37 Her Lord accepted her with a gracious reception, and brought her a beautiful upbringing, and entrusted her to the care of Zechariah. Whenever Zechariah entered upon her in the sanctuary, he found her with provision. He said, “O Mary, where did you get this from?” She said, “It is from God; God provides to whom He wills without reckoning.”
38 Thereupon Zechariah prayed to his Lord; he said, “My Lord, bestow on me good offspring from Your presence; You are the Hearer of Prayers.”
39 Then the angels called out to him, as he stood praying in the sanctuary: “God gives you good news of John; confirming a Word from God, and honorable, and moral, and a prophet; one of the upright.”
40 He said, “My Lord, how will I have a son, when old age has overtaken me, and my wife is barren?” He said, “Even so, God does whatever He wills.”
41 He said, “My Lord, give me a sign.” He said, “Your sign is that you shall not speak to the people for three days, except by gestures. And remember your Lord much, and praise in the evening and the morning.”
42 The angels said, “O Mary, God has chosen you, and has purified you. He has chosen you over all the women of the world.
43 “O Mary, be devoted to your Lord, and bow down, and kneel with those who kneel.”
44 These are accounts from the Unseen, which We reveal to you.
46 He will speak to the people from the crib, and in adulthood, and will be one of the righteous.”
47 She said, “My Lord, how can I have a child, when no man has touched me?” He said, “It will be so. God creates whatever He wills. To have anything done, He only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.”
48 And He will teach him the Scripture and wisdom, and the Torah and the Gospel.
In that is a sign for you, if you are believers.”
50 “And verifying what lies before me of the Torah, and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. I have come to you with a sign from your Lord; so fear God, and obey me.”
51 “God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.”
52 When Jesus sensed disbelief on their part, he said, “Who are my allies towards God?” The disciples said, “We are God’s allies; we have believed in God, and bear witness that we submit.”
53 “Our Lord, we have believed in what You have revealed, and we have followed the Messenger, so count us among the witnesses.”
54 They planned, and God planned; but God is the Best of planners.
God does not love the unjust.”
58 This is what We recite to you of the Verses and the Wise Reminder.
59 The likeness of Jesus in God’s sight is that of Adam: He created him from dust, then said to him, “Be,” and he was.
60 The truth is from your Lord, so do not be of those who doubt.
61 And if anyone disputes with you about him, after the knowledge that has come to you, say, “Come, let us call our children and your children, and our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves, and let us invoke God’s curse on the liars.”
62 This is the narrative of truth: there is no god but God. God is the Mighty, the Wise.
63 But if they turn away-God knows the corrupt.
64 Say, “O People of the Book, come to terms common between us and you: that we worship none but God, and that we associate nothing with Him, and that none of us takes others as lords besides God.” And if they turn away, say, “Bear witness that we have submitted.”
65 O People of the Book!
The wrongdoers have no saviors.”
73 They disbelieve those who say, “God is the third of three.” But there is no deity except the One God.

We are, in fact, hard workers because there's literally no one else that will do the job for us. And, trust me, there's an insane amount of work when you're living in the countryside.
How can that be 'abandoned' if just 50 people live there and the village is so well tended..😮
Beautiful people and land, but so very very sad with all the young people leaving and thinking they are going to a better place. In the end those villages were the best places to be for peace of mind and heart.
Absolutely; but the media, on purpose, brainwashes Europeans to hate their own family, town, culture, etc.
Nah wtf you're talking about? These villages have no jobs no hospital school and no proper facilities for anyone. You guys love romanticizing poverty
They go because they need to make money to live.
They need to go and find a partner. When they get older they will appreciate the place of their childhood again.

@@TheTeodorsoldierabvb We have become very lazy due to the comfort that cities offer.
In Russia here the same. There are thousands of completely empty villages even here in central Russia.

One of the most authentic travel vlogs I watched recently. Thank you
Great video.
Buenas from westerhope!! Small RUclips world 😊
I laugh when older brother tells me how much he loves Spain.
@@joehinds29988 I think Spain got rid of them in 1492. Why would they solve any problems in Spain by bringing a bigger problem to Spain?
Hi Elliot, thanks for this video, my husband and I lived in Oreña several years ago in a small town near Santillana del Mar for two months au pairing two children.
The wrongdoers have no saviors.”
73 They disbelieve those who say, “God is the third of three.” But there is no deity except the One God.

Don't you realise how Stupid and Ugly the word 'humble' is...
@@jhoenjet
28 How can you deny God, when you were dead and He gave you life, then He will put you to death, then He will bring you to life, then to Him you will be returned?
29 It is He who created for you everything on earth, then turned to the heaven, and made them seven heavens. And He is aware of all things.
30 When your Lord said to the angels, “I am placing a successor on earth.” They said, “Will You place in it someone who will cause corruption in it and shed blood, while we declare Your praises and sanctify You?” He said, “I know what you do not know.”
31 And He taught Adam the names, all of them; then he presented them to the angels, and said, “Tell Me the names of these, if you are sincere.”
32 They said, “Glory be to You! We have no knowledge except what You have taught us. It is you who are the Knowledgeable, the Wise.”
33 He said, “O Adam, tell them their names.” And when he told them their names, He said, “Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of the heavens and the earth, and that I know what you reveal and what you conceal?”
34 And We said to the angels, “Bow down to Adam.” They bowed down, except for Satan. He refused, was arrogant, and was one of the disbelievers.
35 We said, “O Adam, inhabit the Garden, you and your spouse, and eat from it freely as you please, but do not approach this tree, lest you become wrongdoers.”
36 But Satan caused them to slip from it, and caused them to depart the state they were in. We said, “Go down, some of you enemies of one another. And you will have residence on earth, and enjoyment for a while.”
37 Then Adam received words from his Lord, so He relented towards him. He is the Relenting, the Merciful.
38 We said, “Go down from it, all of you. Yet whenever guidance comes to you from Me, then whoever follows My guidance-they have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve.
39 But as for those who disbelieve and reject Our signs-these are the inmates of the Fire-wherein they will remain forever.”
36 To every community We sent a messenger: “Worship God, and avoid idolatry.” Some of them God guided, while others deserved misguidance. So travel through the earth, and see what the fate of the deniers was.
69 And relate to them the story of Abraham.
70 When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?”
71 They said, “We worship idols, and we remain devoted to them.”
72 He said, “Do they hear you when you pray?
73 Or do they benefit you, or harm you?”
74 They said, “But we found our ancestors doing so.”
75 He said, “Have you considered what you worship.
76 You and your ancient ancestors?
77 They are enemies to me, but not so the Lord of the Worlds.
78 He who created me, and guides me.
79 He who feeds me, and waters me.
80 And when I get sick, He heals me.
81 He who makes me die, and then revives me.
82 He who, I hope, will forgive my sins on the Day of the Reckoning.”
83 “My Lord!
89 Except for him who comes to God with a sound heart.”
90 And Paradise will be brought near for the righteous.
91 And the Blaze will be displayed to the deviators.
92 And it will be said to them, “Where are those you used to worship?”
93 Besides God? Can they help you, or help themselves?”
94 Then they will be toppled into it, together with the seducers.
102 If only we could have another chance, we would be among the faithful.”
103 Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
104 Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
59 The likeness of Jesus in God’s sight is that of Adam: He created him from dust, then said to him, “Be,” and he was.
60 The truth is from your Lord, so do not be of those who doubt.

47 O you who were given the Book!
172 The Messiah does not disdain to be a servant of God, nor do the favored angels. Whoever disdains His worship, and is too arrogant-He will round them up to Himself altogether.
72 They disbelieve those who say, “God is the Messiah the son of Mary.” But the Messiah himself said, “O Children of Israel, worship God, my Lord and your Lord. Whoever associates others with God, God has forbidden him Paradise, and his dwelling is the Fire. The wrongdoers have no saviors.”
73 They disbelieve those who say, “God is the third of three.” But there is no deity except the One God. If they do not refrain from what they say, a painful torment will befall those among them who disbelieve.
74 Will they not repent to God and ask His forgiveness? God is Forgiving and Merciful.
Do not exaggerate in your religion beyond the truth; and do not follow the opinions of people who went astray before, and misled many, and themselves strayed off the balanced way.”
85 Whoever seeks other than Islam as a religion, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.

Good vlogging, you work hard to inform the world about those remote villages in Europe, that's good work, keep going on, thanks 😅
I felt for him in his lonely desolate climb, when he said if he died, he would have been happy.
I live in the basque country, northern spain and this video made me value what what we have, sometimes you need someone from outside to come and say hey! This is great! But, let me tell everyone reading, its beatifull in here but its also tough and rough sometimes, but what are we without some challenge! Much love!❤
There is a lot of shit going down in the World. Be grateful you are out of it.
That's interesting. I am Basque and I have never ever felt that it's tough and rough the way you suggest. I suppose it's because to me there's nothing better haha
What's the weather like in your area? Let's say from October till April, is it mostly cloudy and rainy and cold?
@@Prasad12478 there are many clear, blue skies days from May through October, more or less. You will usually have pleasant weather for much of this period, especially in the summer which can be quite hot, but should expect some chilly and rainy days on either side of it. The region is very green for a reason.
@@Lural29 Thanks, and during winter, is it very cloudy with very little sun?
Although unfamiliar with rural Spain, your journey reminds me of many adventures in rural Italy. These are the cultural and physically challenging experiences that can pry open the most closed mind. The lessons I have learned from the best of the human race have been in villages like these. Having Italian language skills like you have in Spanish adds an even greater depth to the connections. But it's the depth of the villagers' hearts and humanity that is truly amazing and restorative for me. ❤ Keep on trekking fellow traveler. 👍🏼
Thanks for taking me along your hike in these villages and meeting such nice people along the way!
This is an amazing video Elliot, the views, with your commentary made it unforgettable.
I love Cantabria and really enjoyed your video - thanks for sharing!
How clean and neat looks everithing...❤ I think soon those villages will come to life again. People will start to grow their own crops. Those crazy times of highly processed food will stop.❤
They’re already growing their own crops :)

85 Whoever seeks other than Islam as a religion, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.

65 Say, “I am only a warner, and there is no god except God-the One, the Conqueror.
66 The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them; the Mighty, the Forgiver.”
67 Say, “It is a message of great importance.
68 From which you are turning away.
69 I have no knowledge of the Highest Assembly as they dispute.
70 It is only revealed to me that I am a clear warner.”
71 Your Lord said to the angels, “I am creating a human being from clay.
72 When I have formed him, and breathed into him of My spirit, fall prostrate before him.
73 So the angels fell prostrate, all of them.
74 Except for Satan. He was too proud, and one of the faithless.
75 He said, “O Satan, what prevented you from prostrating before what I created with My Own hands? Are you too proud, or were you one of the exalted?”
76 He said, “I am better than he; You created me from fire, and You created him from clay.”
77 He said, “Then get out of here! You are an outcast!
78 And My curse will be upon you until the Day of Judgment.”
79 He said, “Lord, defer me until the Day they are resurrected.”
80 He said, “You are one of those deferred.
81 Until the Day of the Time Appointed.”
82 He said, “By Your majesty, I will seduce them all.
83 Except for your loyal servants among them.”
84 He said, “The truth is, and I say the truth.
85 I will fill Hell with you, and with every one of them who follows you.”
86 Say, “I ask of you no wage for this, and I am not a pretender.
87 It is but a reminder to mankind.
88 And you will know its message after a while.”
29 Muhammad is the Messenger of God. Those with him are stern against the disbelievers, yet compassionate amongst themselves. You see them kneeling, prostrating, seeking blessings from God and approval.

Wow! Loved the video, scenery and people! Thank you!
Love your approach to exploring these amazing spots off of the beaten path of tourism. This villages are so magical.
I envey you Elliot. You have some amazing footage and experiences. Thank you for sharing.
me and my wife spent two weeks driving from lizbon all the way up to the mountains of Cantabria. i truly fell in love with Spain, we made it up the mountains with a large valley along A-160 to CA-260. the mountain roads are very sketchy, one wrong move and off the cliff you go. the town at the bottom of the valley is called La Vega. i highly recommend a visit to this area.
Excellent . Thank you for your effort and sacrifice to bring us this unique look into northern Spain. Much appreciated.
I was so happy to see the Spain the media doesn't show! Thank you. Have been feeling the call but was turned off by the more popular routes. Thanks again 🙏
Best video in a very long time my friend. Great work !!!
What a great, but also sad video about beautiful landscapes, people and thoughts! Thanks for uploading and keep up the great work!👍

So sad to see it and of course the dreadful effect on wild life
Stop waffling Tone no1 gives a bo***cks Fella . Do yourself a favour and tell some1 who gives a S**t
We will come to view that aspect of the EU as disastrous as similar narcissism in the USSR
The EU destroyed all of Europe, in my coutry Portugal, the EU paid to destroy all Portuguese national industry amd agriculture. What once was a country were people lived of agriculture and fishing, now we live of services totally dependent on EU money...
EU was created to destroy the European peoples and countries.
Yet we strive to leave our homeland but suddenly we get older and want to go back to it.
but suddenly it's all gone and the people who stayed behind wish that thay could pass on all that wisdom thay had gained
but there's no one to share it with anymore you could see that ladys eyes light up just seeing you and sharing her life with you.
it made her day and your as well happy travelling
Yes, I would've definitely gone back and talked to for a while, a cup of strong coffee and something she baked. Yummy...and great conversation!

Wow Elliot incredible video! Beautiful but sad at the same time, thanks for sharing!

Excellent video man! I was hungry for you and I’m sure that food tasted amazing 😅
Hey man, you could easily do a video on lost Andean villages in Colombia .. I would watch that in a heartbeat

85 Whoever seeks other than Islam as a religion, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.

Wow! Love your video and commentary. Great insights and wonderful photography.
So amazing! Thank you for documenting your travels for those of us that will never have the opportunity to see these places.
Thanks for this video, very down to earth, nice conversations and thoughts.
Fantastically interesting and informative video, northern Spain is a gem❤.
Very interesting video, thank you. Greetings from Istanbul...👏
Thank you so much Elliot! Love your wonderful (very important!) job!! A big hug from Italian Switzerland. Luca ☺
This is a very good informative and educational show. I have been in Italy and Spain in the late 50s and 60s just have been recently in Spain two years ago. I love you so it’s a beautiful country or countries and nice people live there.
Thanks so much- you do a great job of narration and showing a beautiful country side…
Northern Spain is truly astonishing
It sure is.. authentic and astonishing

And safe. As the cities self destruct, ( the mega cities)
those small town places will be safe to be at.

I stumbled upon your channel today and watched this video. I felt like I had hiked up the rugged terrain where you were at in this video and met those friendly folks. I loved the content of your vlog so far.
Good vlogging, you work hard to inform the world about those remote villages in Europe, that's good work, keep going on, thanks
These are your best videos, keep it up

49 A messenger to the Children of Israel: “I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. I make for you out of clay the figure of a bird; then I breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by God’s leave. And I heal the blind and the leprous, and I revive the dead, by God’s leave. Hello. Watched your video and Norther Spain is beautiful and love the small towns and your journey.😊👍❤️
I’d love to hike in the mountains in Catalonia and return to Basque Country.. Americans can’t even comprehend the magical places we’ve been to.
I'm from Lleida, Catalonia. Our Pyrenees is beautiful.
Awesome video, I didn't know this part of Spain exist... Keep them coming Bro.
Wonderful and inspiring video, I did not know of this beautiful area of Spain
And this is what the one world governments want total dependence on them
Urban sprawl is eating away the land, though.
Never seen before -wonderful people - thanks for this interesting docu
Your welcome.. glad you liked it .. what particular countries interest you?

Fantastic job! Great adventures

I've just started following your channel. Thanks for the great variety of your videos!
This was really engaging to watch, thank you!
All the best to you 💯
Sounds like a good plan.. I suggest you settle in one of these villages and start a shop for tourists or something of the sort.. good homegrown foods.. good air and vegetation.. peace and quiet away from the craze and all that.. good luck byddy

Nice video
absolute perfection in a video, with a mountain peak of a crescendo of a narration at 14:05 , full of message of contentment but endurance and hope, during troubled times, all rolled into one, and a calming slowdown of an ending.. this is art, Makes us think " is Cantabria the subject ? " type of reflections.
Hey D.C.. Glad to see you still on my channel. You're a day 1 viewer.. Thanks a lot!
Hope you have soon the subs you deserve Elliot. Amazing content!
