- Today we come out of the hustle and bustle of Seoul and take Buvna somewhere they really wanted to visit when they were in Korea. A Korean Buddhist temple. With Barney recently becoming a dad, and Guvna having had a new baby girl, it was a much needed change of pace in the nature with lots of wisdom from the monk who showed us around the temple. Although we have different faiths, we all went in with an open mind and was able to experience a deep sense of gratitude, peace, and letting go. And then we ended the day with some incredible vegan temple food!

오늘은 북적북적한 속세를 떠나 영국 래퍼 친구들이 한국에 와서 꼭 하고 싶었던 템플 스테이 체험을 하러 갔습니다.
최근에 아빠가 된 바니와, 둘째 딸을 낳은 거브나가 맘속에 그동안 쌓아놓고 있었던 걱정과 스트레스가 많았었는데, 자연 속에서 숨을 고르고 스님 말씀에 감동도 많이 받고 위로를 받았습니다. 종교는 다르지만 오픈 마인드로 이 체험을 하면서 인류가 공통적으로 할 수 있는 감사, 평화, 내려놓음을 배울 수 있었던 너무 뜻깊은 시간이었습니다.

I recently watched Gabbie's video about the struggle with not being able to have kids, and seeing Josh listen to Barney and Guvna talk about being and becoming dads and not utter a single word about his own struggle spoke volumes. And then he goes on counting all the blessings in his life, that's just a pure hearted man right there! ❤
Well said. Even Ollie is a dad so Josh must feel bad 😞 even if he is happy for others.

Josh is a gem. He loves and loves everyone even when he’s experiencing difficulties. And he loves others having experiences and blessings. Seems like he just lives for joy to be in the world. That’s true strength and true compassion.

I am so impressed with how seriously they took this visit and how respectful they were. I studied abroad in Korea and did a temple stay with the whole American study abroad group and no one else was taking it seriously at all or taking time to reflect on how meaningful it was. All they did was complain about no meat, too much walking and hiking, having to wake up too early, having to wear the plain clothes. And they also continuously made fun of me for taking it seriously and trying to get them to take it seriously so I feel so happy to see you all do this so respectfully and engage with it deeply❤️
Maybe because they haven't had been through a lot I think, I mean like me 😂 yes I hate walking + waking up early, but if I am at a temple, I will still respect it (maybe I am Chinese so Buddhism is normal for me 😂) .
Barney & guvna have been through a lot in adulthood I think, so they have some kind of feeling, if it is me, I think I will be emotional too.

I love how Gauvna said he'd wanted to come to the temple and Josh made it happen. Also how Josh gave both Barney and Gauvna a time to relax and take some time off the pressure. Brought me to tears when Barney started crying 😭

Barney had me tearing up when talking about how emotional he felt after the bell. I was thinking "Someone give that man a hug!" When Josh hugged him and told him he loved him, I couldn't help but cry a lil. These guys are the sweetest. They seem truly grateful for the experiences you've helped give them.
Rewatching this with my husband and I think this may be my favorite episode. I cried all three times I watch this episode.
I’m disabled from a car crash (coming up on 10 years ago, and I just turned 40) and this made me feel at peace to motivate me to do things to let things/ pain/ anger, to let it go. This is the most personal moment i saw barney and guvna. Shows their soft and loving side. We would easily think rappers are hardcore and just full of negativity but these 2 are different. Loving them more❤❤❤

They are people, like most other rappers. Some have just been through things which have made them present a harder exterior. You should be shocked at how deeply you hold stereotypical beliefs.
I am a Christian...but the way this bell rings....it even resonates with me in such a way that its sound also calms me. Cool man. Even the editing of this video, they kept the sound of the surroundings, the waterfalls, the wind. this Video is calming overall.

This is the most peaceful I've felt from a Korean Englishman video, which is funny because we have the two most energetic guys in Barney and Guvna lol. I'm really happy they were able to take away such meaningful experiences from the temple.

Becoming a parent is a transformative period in your life. Barney being so thoughtful of his new role shows how great of a father he'll be. I hope he can be mindful that readiness to become a parent is also about humility and understanding there's only so much you can control; no one knows everything and no one is ever completely ready. You'll be great, Barney!

It was amazing to see him open up about this fear that so many people experience at some point. Definitely a transformational time for him and others going through (or about to go through) the early parenting stage. And I very much agree on your point about letting go of control! 🙂

@@ucj2714 사람들은 인생의 힘듦을 종교로 완화하고 종교는 그런 사람들에게 휴식과 위안을 주는데 의미가 있죠.. 다만 자신이 믿는 종교가 아니면 다 이단이라고 생각하는 그릇된 생각을 가진 분들이 있어서 특정 종교가 욕을 먹는다고 생각해요.

I'm not particularly a religious guy but this episode got me really emotional. Seeing B and Guv fully embracing others cultural ideas and seeing how it made them feel bought a few tears to my eyes

It's a level of tranquility most of us never really get to experience or rarely experience. The tranquility of nature, of ritual, and of our inner selves. We're so bombarded each and every day with distractions, problems, etc.

I love how the two of them really immersed themselves while at the temple. They took it all to heart and took each step in pursuit of connecting with this place. You can tell how genuine their reflection and enjoyment was in this episode. Very heartwarming.

I am going through something and when I saw Barney hitting that bell crying, that immediately brought me to tears. This got to be one (if not) the most emotional moment on this channel. These two view the visit so respectfully and upright serious, I love that. Want to try this now too.
I cried during this video, something about the peacefullness and the emotions really resonated with me. This last week I've had a bit of a bad mental health week, reminded of my father who passed away and even now I'm watching this video as I eat dinner, in the midst of writing an assignment due tomorrow. It's easy to forget that in the short moments of stress that there are people who love us for who we are, and that after that stress is over our lives have the capabilities to be so much more easy on the heart. This video has really stood out as to why this is one of my favourite channels on RUclips.

man im full on sobbing. as someone who has grown up “buddhist” my whole life, my family never really immersed me into it and we didnt really go to temple so id tell people i was buddhist when asked but would never actually call myself religious. now, my boyfriend’s family has brought me along and given me the opportunity to immerse myself and i literally cannot explain how it feels. when youre immersed in it and surrounded by people who so sincerely practice it, it literally feels like your heart is getting a hug and it makes you emotional so i def feel barney here.
Let's not talk of your parents' "temple going" as if you grew up as buddhist. Two different things.

영국남자에서 두분을 처음 봤을 때도 배려심있고 선한 분들이라는 것을 느꼈는데요. 이번 영상에서 제가 생각한 것 보다 더 성숙한 분들이고 또 그러기 위해 노력을 멈추지 않는 분들이라는 걸 알았어요. 그 덕에 직업적으로나 인격적으로나 성장이 멈춘 제 자신에 자극이 됩니다. 단언컨데, 바니와 거브나 두분 다 좋은 그리고 특별한 아버지가 되실거에요.
I felt what Barney felt when he rang that bell. The world could be so busy, so hectic, so ugly, so violent but when you are presented and given a moment to reflect and just be in the moment, grab and cherish that. I think that is why this was so emotional and impactful.

Sorry, but I just really needed this and I'm about to unload my life into this comment: I've been going through so much these last few weeks. I've been going through major imposter syndrome while doing my MBA program, as well as struggling with minor alcoholism because of all the stress. My emotional and mental bandwidth has been so low, and it feels like the valleys in my day-to-day life have been getting deeper. Seeing this video-- I almost felt some of my stresses release vicariously through you guys as you went through the temple. People scoff at religion, but when one really stops and connects with it wholeheartedly, it's almost a saving grace.
Thank you for showing us this journey. You don't know how much your channels mean to me.

Josh saying he doesn’t deserve this had me shaking my head! He doesn’t realise how much he’s giving us with those videos! Are you insane? This is all well deserved, you work hard and bring us happiness, teach us on a culture and gastronomy a lot of us didn’t know about! The experiences you share with the people you take on those trips or do these videos with too is major! You don’t realise how deep those are and how many minds you’ve opened, especially the high schoolers ! It’s very clear that this changed their entire outlook on life and how they will go about the world growing up, this is so important! Shaping young minds for the better 🙌 You also seem very level headed no taking all of this for granted and remaining grateful for it all so kudos to you, keep being your amazing self, but know that you deserve it all, otherwise the universe wouldn’t have sent it your way ❤
For me especially as a viewer, Korean Englishman and Jolly provides such joyful, positive, wholesome, clean content and it helps with my mental health by lifting my mood every time I watch their videos. It may seem small but for me it's a beacon of positivity on the Internet. And to learn about a rich, amazing culture while watching? Seeing the healthy, hilarious friendship between Josh and Ollie? I mean, it's all fantastic.

Definitely my favourite episode of the series. As fun, amazing, hilarious and interesting all the other episodes have been so far, this has been the most personal, insightful and humbling. To see the equal amount of respect and understanding is so very heartwarming. I teared as well with Barney and resonated with Guvna. Hats off to Josh, Ollie and the entire KE team for showing us different facets of Korea and it's rich culture.
Certainly my favorite too. I'm not used to seeing the hosts and guests set aside the laughter and open up their more reflective side this much. It was both refreshing and very moving.
Personally cried with the guys. This episode brought me so much peace as if I was there in reality with them. Thank you for bringing Jollybeans this experience.
As a Ghanaian like Gurvna, we understand spirituality and could resonate with how he was feeling.

Seriously, few things get my motor humming like Korean temple food does 😅 The simplicity, the wholesome flavors, the ingenious use of basic ingredients... I'm not even vegan and I find it exhilarating!
Temple food is something you must try in Korea. I grew up eating a lot of meat. I was one of those kids that didn't eat vegies. I went to a temple once with my grandmother when I was visiting South Korea and had the opportunity to have a meal there. I was sceptical at first because I saw no meat but after tasting the dishes I was blown away. One of the best meals I've had to this day and this would've been over 20 years ago now..
Wholeheartedly agree.. I eat meat, but I have had few meals that top the best Temple food experiences. I hope everyone could try at some point 🙂

Barney really gave me a wake up call by having his emotional/spiritual experience with the bell. I used to be quite spiritual and practiced meditation and buddhist practices, but lately I've lost my connection to all that. He really reminded me of all the powerful experiences I've had simply by being present and grateful and allowing myself to let go. Thank you Barney for allowing yourself to fully be with the experience and letting us be a part of it. Same to Guvna, your appreciation of another religion was so touching and moving for me. My family practices Christianity and they don't often understand my relationship with Buddhism, so thank you for showing that we can all love each other for our own expressions of love and gratitude and wisdom.

This in my opinion is the best series y'all have done on the channel. Guvna and Barney are much closer to the type of people I'm used to in everyday life so seeing them out there immersing themselves gives me a sense of vicarious joy.
This series would be nominated for an Emmy if it was on TV.

The pause Barney did between then first and second bang of the drum brought tears to my eyes. When I saw he was crying, the tears fell. So emotional and amazing to see the impact it had.

I can't explain how great this episode was. The humor was still there, but the emotions were raw and refreshing. I appreciate how you catered the high schoolers' trip to them and this trip to Buvna; nothing against the kids, but I can't imagine them having a similar experience at this temple. I was luckly enough to meet Gunva at SOP Gospel Choir of the Year, he is such a calm person and is deeply reflective. Even though it was only a two-minute conversation, I could sense the peace and joy radiating from him. It was one of my most embarrassing moments but he put me and my brother who love his music at ease.

When I saw the temple stay in the preview I just knew it was going to be a special episode. After 9 years of watching this channel, I have to say this has been one of the most beautiful moments. The moment I saw Barney tear up when Isaac said how happy he was to be there with his friend during the cave tour I was just in tears for the rest of it. This was something everyone needs to experience.
The beautiful thing about it, you don't have to be spiritual or religious, I'm not. But my first time in Korea I was lost and wandered into a temple area and just walked the grounds looking at the flowers, statues, and architecture for a long while. It was a calming experience that I needed at that moment. Well done, everyone!
One of the best moments I've ever seen of this show. Couldn't agree more, including what you said about the beauty of wandering around these Korean temples. I feel lucky to have experienced that, and I'm better for it!

That was incredibly moving. The second Barney started approaching the bell I started crying. Before anything was even said, could just feel the emotion resonating from him.
I didn't expect this episode to be so emotional, but here I am, crying as I watch this. The bell got me. I am Christian but would love to try a temple stay as it seems to be very healing. Thank you Korean Englishmen for taking the rappers to this. This was a beautiful episode.
