The Partition of India in 1947 was the change of political borders and the division of other assets that accompanied the dissolution of the British Raj in the Indian subcontinent and the creation of two independent dominions in South Asia: India and Pakistan. The Dominion of India is today the Republic of India, and the Dominion of Pakistan-which at the time comprised two regions lying on either side of India-is now the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The partition was outlined in the Indian Independence Act 1947.
The partition caused large-scale loss of life and an unprecedented migration between the two dominions. Among refugees who survived, it solidified the belief that safety lay among co-religionists. In the instance of Pakistan, it made palpable a hitherto only-imagined refuge for the Muslims of British India. The migrations took place hastily and with little warning. It is thought that between 14 million and 18 million people moved, and perhaps more. Excess mortality during the period of the partition is usually estimated to have been around one million.
The lowering of the flags ceremony at the Attari-Wagah border is a daily ceremony that the security forces of India (Border Security Force) and Pakistan (Pakistan Rangers) have jointly followed since 1959. The drill is characterized by elaborate and rapid dance-like manoeuvres and raising legs as high as possible, which have been described as "colourful." It is both a symbol of the two countries’ rivalry and a display of brotherhood and cooperation between the two nations.
Amritsar is a city in the northwestern Indian state of Punjab, 28 kilometers from the border with Pakistan. At the center of its walled old town, the gilded Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib) is the holiest gurdwara (religious complex) of the Sikh religion. It’s at the end of a causeway, surrounded by the sacred Amrit Sarovar tank (lake), where pilgrims bathe.
Join us today as we visit the Partition Museum and then take local transport to the Border ceremony food and making friends included as always.

This vlogs is quite emotional . British Army General Dyer blocked the only gate at Jaliawala bagh and ordered to fire on unarmed civilians. A well was filled with dead bodies. A wall was marked with bullets. We as 3rd pr 4th generations can feel. And still feel the massacre. We can feel the cruelty of then bristish Army.😢😢😢 Indian subcontinent was divided into many parts. One relative seperated and we cant meet each other because of partition. Our Country never attacked any other country people but others like british, Mughals, mongols, dutch , Portuguese, persians, turkish and so many did to us , but we still open arms for foreigners with smiling faces . This is the speciallity of Bharat and Bhartiya.

The cruelty of the British army was heartbreaking 💔 😢
We feel so sad about what people suffered and still suffer 😢

The partition affected millions of people. Overnight people lost their home, belongings and had to shift just because of their faith. Unfortunately still lots of people are not settled and fleeing one side to another.

Look up Mark Curtis' online excerpt 'Partition: Keep A Bit of India' - from his book 'Secret Affairs: Britain's Collusion with Radical Islam' for the real story of the origin of of the idea of Pakistan - it was British Military Intelligence who wanted to keep a pro-Western entity in the Indian Subcontinent in order to keep naval bases to protect Suez and sea lanes to the East to protect British imperial interests [i.e. looting countries like India and killing tens of millions of Indians in dozens of manmade famines - look up Jason Hickel India for his AJ English articles etc.]. Similarly, perfidious Albion colluded with the Zionist Settler Colonialists [the Ashkenazi Jews who are not descendants of Ancient Canaanites as they pretend to be but Central Asian Hunnic people who moved West to Europe] in stealing Palestine from the natives - the Zionists offered to help protect the Suez Canal for the empire - as later occurred in 1956 when the Anglo-French neocolonialists colluded with the Zionists to invade Egypt.
There is a saying in Turkey that if you see two fish fighting in a barrel - you know that the British had been there.

We as Indians also pay taxes to keep the place secure and maintained, that's why for us it's only 10 rupees and for you guys(foreigners) it's 250. Please don't mind India will give lots of things in reverse EOD.
