      Lmao sup. I just moved here from NY to Lahore. Like literally this January. And I love how people understand more of our western culture than we understand theirs. Btw I live in DHA and its kinda epic. Theirs a McDonald’s, epic restaurants and nice schools (well kinda). And even in those schools you’ll still find people from abroad that came to Pakistan for the same reason as you xD. Also I underestimated before I got here how much Urdu I needed to learn. I could say I fitted in but idk I think some stuff are missing :/

      You can go to behria town that's even better to Defence.. defence is actually DHA (Defence Housing Authority) which was once the area given to the retired army officers and was under thr observation of Army itself.
      In lahore, you can move to Behria or Defence or even Model Town. All are way better than the ones in Karachi.

      Fizza Shaikh Pakistan has a lot to offer as a tourist location in the undeveloped paths up north. It’s a beautiful place and the people are great. But it is also a third world country so what do you expect?

      @@fizzashaikh1418 I kind of agree. It's the same argument as moving from Village to a City tho. Don't you think village has some of it's own charm? Just like that there is a special taste to life in Pakistan that isn't present anywhere else.

    • @MuhammadHassanHTechreviews2002
      @MuhammadHassanHTechreviews2002 4 года назад +16

      @@fizzashaikh1418 Move out of the country you were born in and serve the one you adopted because of its comfortable way of life. This selfish mentality of the Pakistani upper class and unfortunately most of our brilliant people is what's harming us the most. If only half of our genuinely talented people that move abroad to seek a better life were to stay back and persist no one would need to move abroad ever again. If only people could let go of their selfish needs and try and contribute to the greater cause of trying to better our own homeland we would be way better off. One human lifetime in the grand scheme of things is insignificant and if one spends one's time in trying to benefit one's self only and not trying to give back to one's country then such a person has wasted their life away because that already developed country isn't going to care about you coming or going but if you were to work for the wellbeing of your own country and positively try to change it for the better then you will leave your impact and your legacy behind. Running away is easy, persisting in the face of hardships to benefit one's motherland is very difficult but revolutionary change doesn't happen overnight. It takes a lot of time and effort.

    Unless you have lived abroad,or have a broad mind,you arent really going to understand Alina's difficulties in moving to Pakistan after living abroad for her whole life.Pakistanis always seem to turn their nose up at returnees or insist that bahar kay loag kay nakhray bohot hein.Why is it hard to understand that they grew up in a different culture,and different standards?These are your own citizens who have come back for whatever reason.Taunting them or telling them to go back where they came from is revealing more about locals than they realise.Also she has stated her mom's a foreigner and her dad's Pakistani.Give her a break.She is going to compare,everything is new for her.Many people don't like the smell of local milk,bottled water is strange...and can make you sick..that's why the water has to be boiled before you drink it.She is saying that she realises she lives in a privileged part of Karachi,but even that's new to her and shes trying to navigate through it.what I'm getting from the video is that she is experiencing culture shock,and shes trying to be positive.Trying to help her,give her suggestions and help her adjust would be kinder,and give her a positive outlook here in Karachi.

I realized that there are soo many people that are not aware of their priviledge and aware of the fact that they are part of the top 0.1% of pakistan. This makes them less grateful and less empathetic human beings. I have no shame in admitting that I am a priviledged citizen of this country. Hey Alina. I usually dont go for these sort of things and I was really hoping for someone to touch this topic. We have been studying this aspect for a really long time now. These Suburbs are primarily there to detach you from the realities of life. More like mall of residencies. At first, I thought you'd be like usual peeps, (99%) who get impressed by the facades but it turns out you experienced the shallowness first handed. These heterotopic spaces are fragmenting the fabric of the cities, small islands in themselves.

    As a British Pakistani, whose family orginates from Karachi. I can tell you for a fact that you are living the Privilege Lifestyle over there.
    I have been to Karachi many occasions, it's a great city 👌 Currently, Karachi is under a huge development as well with recent Skyscrapers being built up. However, my family comes from the poorer districts and still choose to live in there. Often when I do travel I tend to go to the 'fancy places' like Cliffton and the DHA areas. Believe me there's a VAST difference in lifestyle and people you meet there compared to those outside the privlidge inner-circle.
    Your houses in DHA can range between £150,000 - £2million (depending on districts). Still it's worth noting, that for the lower-end of the Market you can find a 4 bedroom property, which for £150,000 is none existing to have that home in the UK.
    Houses are better and cheaper in short, compared to the West. But, if you going to live in Karachi, you better have a Job or Business that pays you very nicely.

But when i came to Pakistan my life completely changed, see, my house in Pakistan isn't in the defence bubble, its where the burgers and bun kebabs meet 😂 the middle. Im 20 now, and what i learned living here is that the rich lifestyle is amazing and shit no doubt but the thrilling fun of having a midnight drive to the sea view with all your cousins cramped in just one car or taking out every penny out of every one of your bags to contribute in ordering pizza at 5 o clock in the morning with your friends is unmatched.

      the water doesn't taste like crap it's just the microbes that you are not used to (not not not blaming u) and btw i agree with u on the milk situation some people tend to mix water to in it so they can sell more. feel so ashamed talking about this
