    In this video, I do something different. Today you'll hear from my wife. Yes, my wife is going to talk to you about what it's like to be married to an entrepreneur.
    Here are, from my wife's perspective, 12 things women need to know when dating or married to an entrepreneur.
    ******************
    #1: Be Patient - 1:59
    #2: Don't Argue in Front of Others - 2:40
    #3: There Will be Some Spontaneous Moments - 3:34
    #4: Know There Will be Peaks and Valleys - 4:34
    #5: Commit to Personal Development - 5:30
    #6: Spice Up Your Intimate Life - 6:23
    #7: Don't Try to Control Them - 7:08
    #8: Applaud Their Achievements and Praise Them - 7:32
    #9: Lead the Schedule - 8:13
    #10: Know How to Deal with Critics - 8:42
    #11: Don't Feed into Their Anger or Frustration - 9:56
    #12: Learn More About Their Business. How Can You Help and Be Involved? - 10:37
    Jennifer ended this video by sharing a few points focused on the entrepreneur's side of things and what they need to if they want to be supported by their significant other in what they're doing. 11:12

    Hey Jennifer, this is your cousin Jamie. I just wanted to tell you how proud I am of you. You've grown into a very beautiful woman and amazing mother & wife. When we were kids, I was always jealous of your dimples, and I must say you're the prettiest one in our family. I missed you at grandma's funeral, but was happy to see Aunt Brenda (your mother) and noticed how much she looks like Grandma. I'm so happy for you and the beautiful family you have. I wish the best for you and your sister Brittany and hope you and your families have all the happiness in the world. 😊

    Great to see a role model that is comfortable in her femininity, clear and probably a kick-$ss leader because of the expectations she has for her partner. Love all of this advice especially the one on negativity -- Anticipate the negativity that comes along with the territory. I love who they are together. God bless this marriage, family and business!

      I agree. truly confident women are brilliant sources of support, perspective and inspiration. Nowadays we have a worrying number of women whose idea of an empowered woman is effectively a man, and they don't even realise it.

      actually, people complaining about women being "wannabe men" is what's really getting annoying. don't believe the hype. there is no epidemic of women trying to be men. people are just people.

    • @the80386
      @the80386 7 лет назад +8

      I don't have to 'believe' any hype when I've seen its steady increase over the past 20 years living in usa, canada and uk and flying to various european countries. if you think girls today on average are the same as our mothers' generation then you are either in denial or live in a place which is strongly holding onto their values and tradition.
      everywhere else, you might find exceptions once in a while, but far too many girls these days, especially the ones coming out of liberal art colleges, want all the benefits and 'fun' without responsibility or foresight and have disproportionately high entitlement.

    • @darkpearl88
      @darkpearl88 7 лет назад +2

      +80386
      "living in usa, canada and uk and flying to various european countries. if you think girls today on average are the same as our mothers' generation"
      That's a stupid argument. Firstly. who is ever the same as their parents' generation? In the 50s/60s men wore a suit and tie almost every day. Using profanity in public wasn't socially acceptable and neither was spending hours playing video games or watching porn.
      Secondly, western culture doesn't give a crap about values or tradition, and that's a cultural thing not a gender thing. I'm so sick of hearing western men wishing for traditional women when they themselves are not even worthy of said traditional woman.
      Thirdly.... "want all the benefits and 'fun' without responsibility or foresight and have disproportionately high entitlement"... that's called being a spoiled westerner, not a woman trying to act like a man.

  • @clarkbolding5161
    @clarkbolding5161 7 лет назад +6

    patience is key because there's always a reason for them to be working, keep arguments private and say "I'm sorry" often, they can be distracted and a little moody, learn new skills, be spontaneous and switch up your schedule sometimes, show you appreciate them, don't be negative when they come to you with problems, make sure that you the entrepreneur show results of your work

    Thank you for this video! It's so hard finding people to relate to who are dealing with the challenges that come with dating an entrepreneur. Especially the part about dealing with critics... This one is especially sensitive because you don't expect the critics to be your own family members causing friction within the family unit. This video makes me feel less alone as it seems it's a common trend amongst entrepreneurship and that the most important thing is being on the same page as your partner and not allowing the negativity of others in.

    But when it comes to working as a team you need reasons to love your neighbour not to add fuel to the fire.
