Very good choice of using Black Napkins as your background music. Camarillo Brillo is also a fave . Thanks for locating the Masters resting place. After his Vancouver gig we left quickly to beat the crowd and a limo pulled out in front of us in the lot, we recognized the schnoz in profile. We followed his limo to a non-descript Mexican place, Zappa went in. We did not go in because as Canadians and as a Catholic Girl, we wanted him to have his meal in peace. As a young teenager in the early 1970s, I was introduced to Frank Zappa‘s music by an older friend. Specifically, “ weasels ripped my flesh,” “ overnight sensation“ and “Apostrophe.” My mind was blown. Over the years, I was fortunate enough to see Zappa live many times. Never a bad show or lineup. I believe that, listening to Frank Zappa, not only made me a more adventurous, music, consumer, but also a smarter and better human being. Frank’s music definitely was not for everyone, mostly music nerds with open minds. Thanks for the education, Frank.😂

@@carlosdanger6129 and Missing Persons drummer was Terry Bozzio no? Bozzio played in a monster of a Zappa band with Adrian Belew.
What would we say anyways other than, thanks Frank. Thanks Frank.
He was very loved in The Netherlands...just like his buddy Steve Vai who I will watch and listen to performing with an orchestra coming may 2023 in Eindhoven.
I have that CD of Zappa doing a live, Halloween performance in New York. LOVE ZAPPA....his quirkiness, his amazing talent. Michael, dude, you just keep popping out these amazing stories on video. You presented Zappa in this story so incredibly well
The OG 'Freakout' reel was created on my aunt's birthday. So happy they have been able to upkeep these.
I grew up listening to Frank. Thx 4 the tour
Loved this ..thanks yall. Awesome RIP Zappa. I'm from Baltimore Maryland too.
Man was ahead of his time when it came to music. I got one of his albums when I was in junior high. loved it. I wish I new where all my vinyl went. Great tour. Thanks for sharing.💀💀
Frank Zappa had a huge influence on my love of music. The first Frank Zappa album I bought was, "We're Only In It For The Money", by Frank Zappa And The Mothers Of Invention.
@Teachering - Actually that album was credited to just The Mothers of Invention when it was released.
You are correct.@@Frunobulax74
Excellent video. Fascinating to see the Zappa residence and unmarked grave. Much appreciated.
Thank you for that. Going out un that dreary weather for us. You rock!
We used to listen to Joe's Garage everyday on the way to high school. RIP Frank.
“Just a coupla’ quarts of beer”
@@kgilliagorilla2761 So the intonation would not offend your ears
@@sirchromiumdowns2015 I have been known to say, when the music is crap, “Don’t you boys know any nice songs?” Haha
We would go see him on his Halloween tour at the Uptown in Chicago, late 70’s. What a beautiful mind.
After Watching This
I've Got To Pick Up Some Of His Albums
It Sounds Amazing 👏
And He's Sounded Great 👍
Great Work On Your Videos As Ever
Keep Up The Excellent Work 👏

I wasn't as aware of Frank Zappa before watching this tribute to him, he definitely seemed to be a one of a kind, I've looked at other videos of him since watching this and listening to some of the interesting music, I'd have to say he's definitely an inspiration to other musicians.
Great video as always....
Check out the 1979 Halloween concert (AKA: the "Baby Snakes" concert), or his 1988 tour (as seen at 13:16) to see and hear him at his best.
@@surfdigby - The movie Baby Snakes was filmed at Frank's 1977 Halloween concerts, not 1979.
@@Frunobulax74 I'm in the UK so was compensating for the different time zone.

Love your channel. It's so cool. As a Brit, I love history, film, horror and of course the entertainment of seeing these places now in 2022. Keep up the great work guys
Thanks for sharing. My dad was a big Zappa fan. He passed away last March a day before his 69th birthday, so this video was special to me. Thanks. One time I was able to get tickets to see David Lynch's Inland Empire, at the Sydney Film Festival, & Mum wanted all of us to go as Sydney is a bit of a drive from where I live, & I cautioned Dad about how weird Lynch's work is, but he was game, because he then mentioned how weird & out there Zappa is.
Thanks for sharing & Happy New Year!
Thanks for doing this video it's very touching when people remember Frank he was an American treasure... ❤️
Happy New Year 2023 from Finland Michael and Jessica!😍🥰
Another Grimmlife video that is both entertaining and informative.
Happy new year! Grimmlife❤
Because of my uncle Frank Zappa was some of my first memories of music with cool sounding guitar so I always had a liking for him even. The unmarked grave dose not surprise me such a zappa move probably to keep people away.
Poor man, so young, that’s scary as hell. He was misdiagnosed 😢I miss him
I had 3 encounters with FZ outside the Garrick in NYC in 67-68. Very pleasant fella to meet. He introduced me and 2 friends to Richie Havens and Al Cooper. Havens was a very nice fella!
There’s something about franks music that will always put him
head shoulders
above all other artists
No there's not
huge Zappa fan here, and this was my first video from grimmlife! Nice video, absolutely subbing.
Just like you as a child I really didn't appreciate Frank Zappa's music. Now as an adult I have a deep appreciation for it, not only his music but the man himself. What a great Patriot! I certainly don't want to give up my freedoms to a bunch of nincompoops and let them figure it out for me! Anyway great video I really enjoyed this one. Thank you. Like always thanks for taking us on the adventure.

Thanks for doing Frank Zappa. He's still one of my favorites, and I've been blessed to have seen him live a few times. He was one-of-a-kind
The more complicated our lives become with age, the easier Zappa's music is to understand.
Awesome Video thanks so much for posting!!! I am a giant Frank Zappa fan which is part of the reason I’m a musician. I got to record with Ike from his band. Frank was a god. 🎸🎶
I like Ike's vocals on "Keep It Greasy". Reminds me of Levi Stubb's of the Four Tops.
Presumably if you're a musician, you also appreciate what a brilliant businessman FZ was. Great video. Related to Zappa, a video on the history of Captain Beefheart and the recording of Trout Mask Replica would be awesome.
When Frank trolled Tipper Gore was epic. His description of her Holier-than-thou delusional thoughts left her speechless.
A 'Bobby Brown' reissue in the early 90s got me into Frank Zappa, but I was to discover he was so much more. His zero fucks given attitude and approach to music has made me a better musician and a better listener.
LOVE FRANK ZAPPA and All His Music Stood For ! ! ! I've been listening to him since I found a cutout copy of FREAK OUT at the local Cincinnati Woolworths (Dime Store), in the mid 60's. THANK YOU Michael for Featuring the Genius of FZ in your Video.
...Newk from Kentucky 🎉
I love you and the wife and now even more you are honoring one of my all time favorites, ZAPPA! on NEW YEARS EVE FANTASTIC
The Zoot Allures album is my favorite
Great tribute to an amazing musician and a remarkable human being. Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately, I never got to see Frank perform live, but I have been to many ‘Zappa Plays Zappa’ and subsequent Dweezil Zappa shows. The closest I’ve come a Frank performance was back in 2019, when ‘The Bizarre World of Frank Zappa’ came to Amsterdam. That was a great evening. Plus, I got to meet Ahmet there
Death will come for us all. Better to be remembered once than never at all.
My cousin exposed me to Zappa about twenty years ago. I would've have only known him for "Valley Girl". He was definitely a musician's musician and his work touched several genres. I need to go back to Westwood Memorial and see the unmarked grave. Roy Orbison is also buried in an unmarked grave there, somewhere in a corner. I've seen a video on it. Turns out his family just never got a marker.
Great video, thanks again 👍
I'm not a Frank Zappa fan myself, but I respect his work and the people who do like it. Thanks for another good video!
I'm not either, but the difference is I don't respect his work. Zappa was not a humble guy
You live in a fantastic place stunning scenery
Saw FZ at the Lehigh University 1980. There's an audio of the concert on RUclips.
We have booked to come to L.A in September and that cemetery is on my bucket list
Such respect on how you can share without being obtrusive to those you cover. Great work as usual.
Happy New Year GrimmLife. Thanks for all the content!
4k quality is amazing. Thanks for sharing [in 4k].
Frank has been my idol, inspiration and indirect motivator for 40 years. This was a tough video to watch but I thank you for making it.
A excellent view! He was one unique & amazing guitar player and artist. He did Valley girl with his Daughter Moon Unit a classic tune! She did the valley girl voice. Lol Epic Appreciate your efforts and quality content Mike & Jessica this was a blast from the past. Cheers!

I needed this more than I thought. Zappa, we salute you. 👏
This made me cry again.

I'm a huge Zappa fan. Have been since my Dad introduced me to him back in the early '80's. I remember when he passed, like yesterday...thank you, Michael.
