Girl!!! I wish I was as sweet as you are with your cats 😂😂😂 everyone has an opinion. I am happy to see your content and also you standing up for yourself! Thank you for the reminder you can be kind while also standing up for yourself! I'm excited to see what this year brings for your channel! Happy planting!!! 🌿🍃
You’re not a bad pet parent because you let your kitties outside! If anything it’s a good thing you let them out, they’re animals, they want to be out to explore 😂 happy New year Melissa 🪴
The plants look so pretty! I am a hoya head and undulata is one of my top five. I had one and was doing great, but I left to go on vacation and the lights did not come on, so it slowly died after a week. Then I ordered another one (and it was pricey) in November and the seller did not offer a heat pack. It was too cold and when I received it, it was pure mush. So ............. my heart has been broken but not given up. Someday I will get that undulata. They DO NOT like to get cold and love lots of light. Sadly it is a plant that you learn your "lessons on". 😛
It becomes an expensive one to learn lessons on. I imported a Hoya decipulae that arrived frozen 🥶 ( seller, also, did not offer heat pack for January). I’ll try again. It blooms are too beautiful and I’ve heard ours an easy bloomer.
Hi Melissa, let me first say you are definitely an awesome cat mama! You showed us your patio and it’s perfect for your kitties. People need to mind their own business! 😊 I love when you do planty video re habs. I just wanted to ask you- when the baby plants are in stratum for a few weeks how often do you water the stratum with no drainage? Do the babies turn yellow? ThankYou Melissa. Love watching you.❤
I hope that little plant pulls through! As far as cleaning etc, my goal is to find plant swaps to offload some of these syngonium props. And I'm going to plant some succ props directly into my yard to enjoy the summer. I need to go through my plant pots too! I don't have a patio I can screen in for my cat, but I'm going to try to figure out some sort of mini-catio situation for him when it gets warm again.
Its easy to tell that you love your cats and are a great pet parent❤ our cats love to go outside outside. Keeping them only inside would make them go crazy 😂 but thats our cats ❤ people are so aweful sometimes , i swear some people just love to hate 😔
Melissa, I wanted to let you know that I put my doc block Michelle in your pond. And it perked up. I have not taken it out of the soil that it was shipped in. But it was looking rather sad. I figured I’d take a little chance and put it in your pond. I’m really happy that I did because it’s so happy 100% I would recommend your pawn Don’t pay attention to that dumb, you’re so sweet to your cats, and I love your little voice for them❤❤❤
The way I have been wanting an undulata! 😭 I had a cutting over the summer and it rotted and I was soooooo sad. All of these but the King of Spades look like they've done sooo well! Happy New Year! 🎉
Hi Melissa, Thank you for sharing your plant collection with us 💚 I am curious, how do you manage gnats? I used to use a very chunky aroid mix in the past but the gnat situation was overwhelming. I switched to Lechuza Pon many years ago for my 100+ Hoya collection.
Of course! 💕 nematodes worked great for soil plants. You have to water them in a few times a year. Other than that I have blue light plug in’s that help trap them and then sticky traps as well. Carnivorous plants can catch several adults too. You can try BTI as well.
Hey Melissa , my monstera just put out a new leaf with my first secondary fenestrations on it there’s two little holes on the new leaf. The other plant will be putting out a new leaf soon too. I hope it’s got secondary fenestrations too.
Beautiful Undulatas. Going to get one in the spring. I know your cats definately dont run the streets i have seen you put them outside in the enclosed patio.
Such cute anthurium and those hoya are stunning! I’m on a no buy too but there are soo many hoya I still want to add to my collection but I’ll see how long I can last. Esp with my temps being in the teens and 20s lol. Also my micholitziana I got from your shop is huge. I transferred it to pon early December and it’s given me 2 new foot long leaves. It’s stunning
Aw I'm so happy to hear the micholitziana is growing well 🥹🫶 it's hard to not buy when you want so many and you love plants LOL. What helps me is not browsing at all. Not going on the shop sites or Etsy and not watching hauls so you're not tempted 🙈
Happy New year, for you your husband and fury babies.. You bad pet parent?, please come on.... your the nicest, sweetest sincere cat parent i know.... I always laugh when one of your babies appears in the video.... your voice goes immediatly higher, it's so cute.... bad pet parent... come one....pffff..... i have two little questions....in case of the Hoya's.... I don't know if you have Hoya's in pon? If you have... how do you decide which hoya to put in pon, and which one to put in soil.... at the moment i have 25 Hoya's in stratum.... i wanted to put all of them in selfwatering pots in pon.... but yet again i am doubting maybe there are ones not good for pon... so how do you decide? And how do you know which hoya's to put on a trellis and which one not.... So for the first week of january, lots of questions from little Belgium land...🤣🤣😂😂.... have a nice evening, take care and keep save...again bad pet parent, come on....don't believe a single word of it !!!! grtz from Belgium🥰😍🤩
Thank you! 💕 most of my Hoya are in my aroid mix. I have a few in pon and they’re doing okay. One cutting rotted on me but it was probably a combination of things. I think just experimenting and seeing which ones grow better in your space and care. If one seems to not grow well then I’ll try and figure out why and maybe change it’s care or substrate and make sure the roots are good and there’s no pests issues. For the trellis decision - if I notice one sending out long vines then it’s probably wanting to climb. Sometimes I like the look of one trailing so I’ll just let it do its thing. I’m chopping mine back a lot now so I can make props so I’ll usually add a trellis for temporary growth. Just whatever you prefer I guess! 💕
Hi Melissa, I have what is probably a dumb question. I’ve never subscribed to anyone so I don’t know how this works, but I want to be sure you get your credit. I prefer to watch you on my tv, but there isn’t any way to hit like. Do I need to come back on my phone and do that? Or is it enough that I have subscribed and I watch? 😂
@@plantsbymelissa you really have some beautiful plants my name is katie and i watch all you videos! purchased a few plants because i seen them on your channel and im sure im not alone lol

Thank you for showing/sharing the strawberry pin. I’ve been looking for these for a long time but had no clue what they were called.
8:41 it’s not hard to see that you have it screened :-) it’s technically an unofficial catio ❤❤.
Love watching whatever you put out 😊

Same! Our cats love to go out to hunt in our backyard or even just watch birds and hang out. They’ll be loving it as soon as this snow melts!

I’ve had UPSk ick in the door twice and woke me from a nap both times. I’m going to have to leave a note on the door when I am expecting a package.

I’m so so sorry about the undulata 🥲💕
