@ ohh nice. Thanks for the update. Unfortunately, I’m not close to Brisbane, I’m in Bathurst. I’m sure it’ll eventually go to online nurseries and I can get it online :-)
fastest i’ve rooted begonia in about a month or so is either in moss with high humidity and forget about it, and put it in soil and forget about it. most begonias propagate through leaves too, so you can try putting one of the leaves in a prop box.
The Begonia Julau is rare because it's only found in Julau in Malaysia. It's expensive for a cutting. It's actually resilient as a begonia. The pink when it's juvenile, when it's more fully grown, the white pink turns white and it's more spaced out
I think Begonia are gonna trend this year, a lot of the people I follow seem to have fallen into the begonia rabbit hole, and tbh, I myself have a bit too. There's just some real stunners out there.
Not really. I think what's happening is that you are going through a trend and it feels like everyone else is but that's only because you're searching and social media is feeding what you want to see. They might trend, but I don't think this trend will last very long as most of them are quite finicky when it comes to light und humidity requirements especially the ones with funky colors.
@@RoseTorn411 I mean, I don't follow specific plant content, I just tend to follow a few people to passively discover more species. @EMuro-wu7uy hahahaha I get the struggle. I have only the boxstore type of ferns so the difficulty in care is less of a problem. However if I miss one watering.... Done
5 years ago Kaylee would never have a begonia on her wish list. Times have changed! I have a couple of begonias - they can be bit messy when they shed their leaves or flower, but when they have big beautifully colored and patterned leaves to show off, its so worth the hassle.
I bought a 3 leaf cutting of a cane begonia and had the same issue. I now have 3 beautiful plants from it. I ended up cutting it in 3 individual propagations each with node and put in a lighted perlite prop box. They took off in there.
You won't be dissapointed by Begonia Sinbad, it's growing amazingly and is so so beautiful. The leaves are a bit pinkish when they come out and become more silvery over time. It's one of my favourites!
This might be an odd thing to say, but I really liked your thumbnail on this video! It really caught my eye on my main feed, because it looks to fun and cheerful!
Cane begonias can take a while to form first roots but once they do, they take off fast. I root most of mine in plain water. And no need to remove any leaves from that cutting you have :) Between Sinbad and Lubbersii, although I do love Sinbad (possibly sharing some of the parentage with your Red Berry btw) - Lubbersii is more of a stunner. Something about those dark gothic vibes :) there's also a very nice hybrid of that one out there, lubbergei.
Claire from The Jungle Haven has a gorgeous Sinbad she just showed in her most recent favorites upload! I think it’s beautiful, it might change your mind for the better lol
28:00 I’ve been wanting the Sinbad for a while. Jungle Haven on here has a massive one, and it’s gorgeous 😍. That Silver Hero/Platinum looks stunning, and I have a thing for Scindapsus. Anthurium Luxurians x Villenaorum is a wish list plant. And so is Hoya pauciflora and a lot of other Hoyas.
I have about 20 different begonias the majority angel wings like the ones you’ve shown and I have noticed that when I water prop them in a fresh bottle of mountain spring water (it’s a green glass bottle I got it frol gopuff) and dissolve the joyful dirt houseplant fertilizer in 1 gallon of distilled water and use that to top off the water prop over time and have had an 80% increase in successful water props. The other 20% fail due to low humidity but I can imagine it would work perfectly for your begonia cuttings ❤
I love those choices! My wish list plants are all Hoya right now since I’ve gotten busier and they can take my neglect. 1. H. calistophylla ‘Chibi’ 2. H. priktai Russian Clone 3. H. clemensiorum
I love Pileas, shade resistant and many have beautiful textured leaves and so many plants from Melastomataceae , a huge tropical plant family like Triolena
Begonia amaze me because you can propagate by leaf cuttings! So you can just cut a leaf off and put it in a prop box and it will start rooting for you :)
oh my gosh i am in LOVE with monstera unniiae. After a bit of googling i know it'll be a few years before I'll be able to find one. Not seeing any listings online. It reminds me of shangri-la pothos, but with the fenestrations it has a much cooler vibe.
Hey Kaylee, re begonia - I prop mine in a prop box with perlite (currently 2 months in and ready for pot). Someone somewhere made a video how to prop them - 3 different methods - perlite box came as a winner so I followed). Good luck 🤞🏼🍀
Also re shipping from oz/nz - I'm pretty sure Thailand/eastsouth asia is buying specimens from here but it's extremely expensive. I tried getting estimates to import kunzo's hybrids - nz mpi - cca 3,5k for quarantine + 1,5k a day for an inspector (which has to happen at least 3 times or similar)... So you may buy a plant for 1,5k but spend another 10k on getting it in the country... Thank God for the pirates 🤣
As for the white ice, they are in stores everywhere in Germany and noone seems to care about them? I bought a small plant with 4 stems and it's so, so easy and so fast growing. It's my first begonia. I read the easiet way to root it, is to put it in water and it should root super fast. Or just stick in the soil. Have not tried it yet.
As for rooting begonia I pretty often use a rhizzotonic or other rooting enhancing mixture and put it on moderately warm heating mat. One reminder woody stem won't root easily. If it's then I would cut the stem somewhere above where stem is green.
I can see begonia having a small time in the spotlight. There’s some very pretty selections that are almost stalwarts as interior plants (some of the cane begonias that get surprisingly massive) but I feel like in general they’ll remain niche since so many tend toward being so finnicky (despite what Costa Farms and PW are pumping out) but there’s definitely some gorgeous selections that have never seen the light of day. My 2024 wish list contains two that I’ve lusted over for years; and one new addition: 1. Ficus roxburghii 2. A peach flowered, broadleaf Clivia miniata 3. Monstera deliciosa ‘Jungle Mint’ For me I like unusual, and once something becomes popular I lose interest. I tend to always have palms and amaryllids (amaryllis, clivia, hymenocallis) more than anything else but I do have a few aroids floating around but nothing exciting
Ooo I love begonia so enjoying your new found love of them the top on my list is monstera mint, Florida beauty and varigated micans but I too love that monstera uno it’s gorgeous
Love these plants! My plants have fallen to the back burner over the last year or so. I don’t have a wishlist for specific plants I’d like to get this year but this video inspired me to try to get back into collecting instead of maintaining. Maybe an alocasia dragon scale or silver dragon, a scindapsus and a Hoya pubicalyx! Would love a video on how you deal with having cats and plants at the same time, and some cat safe rare plants :)
I just bought a black blood seed pack! I currently have Rex Tigers paws and Gryphon, and Cane Black Angels and huge a huge bush/tree of Lucerna. I love my begonias! They’re so easy to care for, grow super fast, and people always ask if they’re real when they see them
I saw the monstera UNO at the local plant market. Odd spot is local here to me and I have several of their other plants. I didn’t bother buying one because it will prop and grow very quickly. Lucky being in Australia for once
I love the Monstera Uno, I’d be all over that 😀 The Begonia Sinbad has a light pink tinge on new leaves, as they mature they are definitely silver. I too love many of the angel wing begonias 😀🇨🇦
I couldn’t figure out my begonia maculata but then I made it a humidity dome & it absolutely took off. So I would definitely make sure they get plenty of humidity.
Hey Kaylee, nice wish list! I have kinda of a bad news though, begonia Julau will turn green with white patches as it matures unfortunately. The pink is specific to juvenile plants :( But its really nice! Top 3: Tortum variegated, Monstera Oceam mint, Begonia Brevirimosa :)
If you like the spots on the lubbersii, bonsai it! At a plant show someone turned some begonias into bonsai and they’re my favorite thing ever

There is Rapidophora Tetrasperma ghost, but its called White Monster. behaves like all ghost tho. Need lots of ligt to stay ghosty and leaves with age turn green.
Oooh - I saw the begonia sp julau in person this weekend at a friend/seller’s house (sorry - US based) and let me say - it’s even better in person! The pink was almost neon!
I turfed a whole lot of my philodendrons because of space but I kept White Princess, ye olde common heartleaf, and one or two others. Flowering begonias do brilliant fr me in summer in Nova Scotia, whereas indoor, foliage types, nope. Mostly I have a lot of hoyas, a few scindapsus, several Thai Cons because I love this plant and it does well for me, and some flowering things like holiday cactus, fishbone cactus, and common as can be orchids. Oh, and I have a Meyer lemon causing me great joy. Mostly I just love seeing what OTHERS are interested in acquiring or collect. So I'll always enjoy your videos!
Really cool plants on your wishlist this time around! Ill be moving country so ill have to reestablish my collection, if i had to pick my personal top 3 to get again itd be a monstera thai con (nice and big), alocasia melo (bit smaller, nicely textured, lovely color) and an anthurium hybrid (my favourite rn is a (zara x michelle) x luxurians, giving me lovely leaves!) - i found them easy to grow without much intervention and gorgeous to look at :)
You just filled out my to three with the Philodendron mayoi x squamiferum "squam"! The second on my list is a Hoya Wilbur Graves China, and the number 1 most desired and actually rare plant I would be honored to care for is the Welwitschia mirabilis. Before I get the mayoi x squam I need to get my Florida ghost to quit giving me all white leaves that don't fade to green - they just go brown. It's not getting too much light... I don't get it! You seem happier - I hope you are! 💚😊💚

Firebird with such colors is extremely hard to find. 80-90% just have one or two leaves with some color and rest is green,.
Try putting you white ice in a humidity doom medium coco coir with perlite once roots are established make sure slowly introduce back to normal humidity
I'd recommend for the begonia that you remove the bottom leaf and any tiny sprouts of branches from that node and any bellow as well. Pop it back in water on a windowsill. XX
Never heard of the uno but love it! I got a sinbad recently. It wasn't quite what the pictures portrayed (I felt it was a bit different in person) and over time I've grown more used to it and starting to fall in love with it. I'm also not a huge begonia person. This is my second begonia. The mayoi x squami is also beautiful.
my begonia recommendation for you is begonia dracopelta x kapuashuluensis. it’s a deep blue - black -green color. my top 5 wishlist for this year is begonia black blood, alocasia cuprea variegated, anthurium red crystal, stephania erecta (or some caudex variety), hoya undulata army/tricolor/whatever i saw on aroid market 🖤
Great wish list! My current wishlist has a few hoya (Hoya Latifolia Silver, Gadung Gading Ghost, and Argentinian Princess) all expensive of course..lol But my other obsession is caudex plants. It started with a Discorea Elephantipes that I grew from seed 3 years ago. It's finally getting really cool. So I've added several more types, and my list has gotten long. 😅
Here in Oklahoma, the firebird is definitely growing in popularity. I think I’ve seen it selling for big bucks at Happy Plants OKC and they have a few other philos that look pretty similar as well. My top three wishlist are alocasia scalprum (we only just got them in big box stores but I’m never willing to pay full price for possibly infected plants), begonia burkillii dark form, and syngonium llano carti road. None of them are super rare, just things I want but can’t afford rn. That lubbersii is definitely being added to my list as well!!
I've had great luck rooting begonia from literally sticking the stem into peat and vermiculite based substrate mixes and keep the substrate moist! Done this with a handful of begonias and they have all taken
I love your wishlist, there are some cool plants on it 🙂 Top 2 on my wishlist for this year would be hoya compacta albomarginata and begonia sinbad. I bet I will also buy some anthuriums, but there is nothing specific right now that I am actively searching for 🙂
Hey Kaylee - I work in a garden centre and we had a huge delivery today which included the most beautiful begonia masoniana river. I know it’s not an angel wing but omg it’s stunning!
@ from what I can find out online there’s the iron cross which is sometimes called mountain, river which is a browny colour, and jungle which is lime green. They’re all masoniana
My experience with Homalomena’s are that they only do well in rainforest/cabinet conditions and I hate plants that have to be grown in cabinets or cloches. I used to be obsessed with the homalomena Selby and it didn’t even last 2 weeks in my home 😩
I love begonias! I have a begonia sinbad and I love it it’s currently in bloom right now I love the flowers so pretty 😍 that begonia black blood is on my list idk where to get it! But it’s on my list 🌱✨
I have fallen out of love with plants but I have some list of plants I always want to keep in my collection. Geraniums: Mere Casino, Madame Thibault, Pelargonium tomentosum, Steffens Blackie, Freak of Nature, Pelargonium cotyledonis Top 3: variegated Alocasia Stingray, Dracaena Milky Way, Oxalis palmifrons And I think you might find some insteresting looking Rhipsalis or Dischidia, it's not your typical thing to like but ... There's just so many different species and they all look unique.
I root begonias in a mix of half and half perlite and peat-free houseplant compost (The miracle grow stuff) in a polythene bag. Begonias are usuallly, terrerstriall, not epiphitic, so they don't like to grow in bark or moss - they need soil
Put your white ice cutting in Sphagnum. My plants that won’t root in water root in sphagnum. I think the fire philo is sexy! The variegation will turn full green over time, but the new leaves will be beautifully variegated. Id like to have one also!
i really like the Uno, and im curious to see if anyone outside of australia will be trying to hybridize monstera as well. as far as your begonia propagation, ive had success propping cane begonia in both water and soil (or soiless mix, like coco coir and perlite) but ive noticed they need much higher light during the rooting process. once the roots have grown out i will lower that light level but for rooting, try more light. ive also used your number 3 to help with fresh begonia cuttings and its been great. 💚
Begonia care is very similar to aroids. They should do very well if you give them similar warmth and humidity.; even the same type of soil is fine. Keep your cutting enclosed, if not already. They can propagate through stem and leaves, if they can have a consistent environment.
The monstera uno is so structured! It’s beautiful! ❤ The black blood is to die for! 🩸 🖤 Maybe put some rooting hormone on the white ice? Or if the stem is hard, cut some little slits to encourage rooting? The scindapsus tricolor is on my list! It’s beautiful!! I legit have a wishlist on my notes that’s soooo long. But… 1. Philodendron Dolichogynium it’s so dark and long!! 2. Elaphoglossum metallicum of course 3. Leea amabilis also black leaves!
My wishlist although basic af is: - Established Monstera Alba (bc they're still so expensive in Aus) - Philo Micans - I had one but it died when I moved house - Philo Esmeraldense - and newly added Monstera Uno bc omg we have that in Aus!!
I have a variegated zz on top of my wishlist for the 3rd year in a row, definitely not ready for dealing with single leaf cutting economics that are still going 😅
Top 3- monkey tail cactus (actually got one for Christmas). Astrophytum any variation would do. Black blood begonia (attempted to grow this from seed in November but I accidentally let my medium dry out so I failed)
might I suggest a new kick to your walls: Platycerium 👀 and other ferns. Begonias Wondering if you'd ever relook B. pavonina. It's display really depends on it's environment and maturity. B. Black blood is decently easy in cool and humid conditions - avoid overwatering. Other dark Begonias include erythrocarpa, erythrofolia, Black Metallic, baramensis, nothobaramensis, lambii, sp. Baik, daunhitam Might I suggest you chuck all your rooting begonias into sphagnum and a fully enclosed transparent box. Humidity helps. there are clones of sp. Julau that loses the pink in maturity. search for the consistent-pink clone. Hoyas (full nerd mode incoming) Interesting flowers: H. decipulae, occultata, telosmoides, albiflora, linavergarae colour forms, versteegii, sangguensis, paradisea, unirana, sungwookii... etc. 🫣 wierd af: spartioides, retrorsa foliage: mitrata silver, latifolia silver, retrorsa 🤣, versteegii, clemensiorum, callistophylla/finlaysonii variants, sp. Aceh variants, imbricata*cinnamomifolia the challenge: medinillifolia, jiewhoeiana additionally: Papuahoya
You might like Begonia brevirimosa (Exotica) - it´s simply spectacular, and not too difficult to find. I accidentally killed it this summer, very sad. So this is my no. 1 to get asap. It´s one of the most beautiful plants in existence :-D Begonia White Ice propagation: just wait a month longer :-) Depending on light and temperatures, you need to wait min. 1-2 months - it´s too soon too worry. They take longer in winter but it will propagate eventually, no worries :-) If you want to speed it up, use grow light. I propagate all begonia types in water and in 2 months the cutting should be ready, in winter maybe 3 months (if no grow light is present).
The Sinbad propagated really quickly in water under a growlight for me (within a couple of weeks). I found the white ice was much slower to root and in the end I stuck it in a perlite prop box, forgot about it for 3 months, and the roots have now gone crazy. My top 3 whishlist plants are: anthurium black jack (this is a dream as too expensive for me currently 😢), alocasia Dragon's Breath and Anthurium warocqueanum. On the silvery plant theme - I've just added Scindapsus Treubii Moonlight, the blue star fern and alocasia platinum to my collection and I am absolutely in love with them 😍
I don't think you would be underwhelmed by lubbersii. It's extremely striking in person! I hope you can get ahold of one! I am so sorry that you are deprived of access to Steve's Leaves. They're basically my plant-crack supplier lmao.
Sinbad looks very different than the pic you showed. It is more of a spearmint green with tiny dots. New leaves can come out pinkish. I've seen many and never seen one like that pic. Love your picks otherwise. I have a large collection but have been missing some I got rid of. Just got a cebu again, since they are easy to find now.
It'll be interesting to see what actually transpires in 2025 with my plant collection. I started 2024 pretty much completely focused on hoya and then took a hard right turn midway through the year and went the way of anthurium. Like so many others, I'm hoping to keep the buying to a minimum this year and have a fairly small wish list. Now that Doc Block Michelle is in TC, I really hope to get one at a price that I can afford. I actually did see that one in a local nursery several months ago, but the price was out of my league. The other two of the top three are hoya. I would love to get Hoya Rhiannon and the inner variegated Hoya Mathilde. I very much doubt that either of those two are possibilities for 2025, but never say never. Happy New Year!
The Monstera Unniiae in the example photo reminds me of an Alien Facehugger. I wouldn’t sleep in the same room with that. 😂
Exactly what I was thinking 😅
@ it’s amazing how every photo I’m finding of it in every position STILL looks like one
👽 For sure lol
It reminds me of the Monstera Medusae
4:29 haha finally!! a plant that has originated or been created in Australia (I’m Aussie).
I want it!
Yes they previewed it last year, and it should be at the tropical plant show in Brisbane in a few weeks?
@ ohh nice. Thanks for the update. Unfortunately, I’m not close to Brisbane, I’m in Bathurst.
I’m sure it’ll eventually go to online nurseries and I can get it online :-)

I don’t have a wishlist for specific plants I’d like to get this year but this video inspired me to try to get back into collecting instead of maintaining. Maybe an alocasia dragon scale or silver dragon, a scindapsus and a Hoya pubicalyx! Would love a video on how you deal with having cats and plants at the same time, and some cat safe rare plants :)
I just bought a black blood seed pack! I currently have Rex Tigers paws and Gryphon, and Cane Black Angels and huge a huge bush/tree of Lucerna.
I love my begonias! They’re so easy to care for, grow super fast, and people always ask if they’re real when they see them
Ohhhh that P. firebird is very much up my alley! Even if it grows out of those colors, I think it's worth it for when the new leaves come.
I saw the monstera UNO at the local plant market. Odd spot is local here to me and I have several of their other plants. I didn’t bother buying one because it will prop and grow very quickly. Lucky being in Australia for once
I just bought an Uno! Its very cute! Keen to see how it grows out!
I also have a Rhaphidophora tetrosperma ghost!
Frugal stratum works so well for rooting cuttings
Good to know! I saw one in person this weekend (just commented) and adored it - it was small, so juvenile makes sense. Oh well
If you like the spots on the lubbersii, bonsai it!
I put my begonia's in a clear top container with spag moss not even in the moss just laying on top. They always love that and root quickly
I would love to see you do outdoor garden videos. I could totally see you getting into dahlias. They are so much fun to cross.
I had a julau and I thought to put it in a terrarium but it melted. I can’t help lol
I bought my Monstera Compacta from Rare Plant Fairy and love it! They got it from Kunzo directly.
my begonia recommendation for you is begonia dracopelta x kapuashuluensis. it’s a deep blue - black -green color. my top 5 wishlist for this year is begonia black blood, alocasia cuprea variegated, anthurium red crystal, stephania erecta (or some caudex variety), hoya undulata army/tricolor/whatever i saw on aroid market 🖤
Great wish list! My current wishlist has a few hoya (Hoya Latifolia Silver, Gadung Gading Ghost, and Argentinian Princess) all expensive of course..lol
But my other obsession is caudex plants. It started with a Discorea Elephantipes that I grew from seed 3 years ago. It's finally getting really cool. So I've added several more types, and my list has gotten long. 😅
The unniiae definitely has a Monstera Burle Marx Flame vibe.
Yeah I would agree with that
Good to see you still making videos
I bet I will also buy some anthuriums, but there is nothing specific right now that I am actively searching for 🙂
29:01 I love begonias I have a need for begonias. I also have a need for allocations and then 3 AM and of course Phyllis.lol😂
Sindbad is a very popular begonia affordable and absolutely stunning. ❤
Thanks for another banger!!!
Top 3 Wishlist plants probably would be: Burle Marx Flame, Philodendron Callosum, and Epipremnum Amplissimum!
Hey Kaylee - I work in a garden centre and we had a huge delivery today which included the most beautiful begonia masoniana river. I know it’s not an angel wing but omg it’s stunning!
🫨😲😲😲..an Iron Cross hybrid ?¿?! 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
@ from what I can find out online there’s the iron cross which is sometimes called mountain, river which is a browny colour, and jungle which is lime green. They’re all masoniana
Hoya heuschkeliana & Australis Lisa. I'm easy fixed. I've run out of room. Great vid. Thanks. 😊
My experience with Homalomena’s are that they only do well in rainforest/cabinet conditions and I hate plants that have to be grown in cabinets or cloches. I used to be obsessed with the homalomena Selby and it didn’t even last 2 weeks in my home 😩
Claire @ Urban Jungle has a gorg Sinbad and can prolly give you some good rooting tips.
Check out Hoya coriacea silver if you ever get back into Hoya. It’s super easy to prop to make a nice big pot of it.
This channel introduced me to scindapsus platinum… I got one…. It’s one of my all time favs
I love begonias! I have a begonia sinbad and I love it it’s currently in bloom right now I love the flowers so pretty 😍 that begonia black blood is on my list idk where to get it! But it’s on my list 🌱✨
Like a Burle Marx Flame that took acid🤣🤣 Perfect description hahah
I have fallen out of love with plants but I have some list of plants I always want to keep in my collection.
Geraniums: Mere Casino, Madame Thibault, Pelargonium tomentosum, Steffens Blackie, Freak of Nature, Pelargonium cotyledonis
Top 3: variegated Alocasia Stingray, Dracaena Milky Way, Oxalis palmifrons
And I think you might find some insteresting looking Rhipsalis or Dischidia, it's not your typical thing to like but ...
I think the trend will be back to what a person likes and enjoys growing, not rare unless you are a grower.
i really like the Uno, and im curious to see if anyone outside of australia will be trying to hybridize monstera as well. as far as your begonia propagation, ive had success propping cane begonia in both water and soil (or soiless mix, like coco coir and perlite) but ive noticed they need much higher light during the rooting process. once the roots have grown out i will lower that light level but for rooting, try more light. ive also used your number 3 to help with fresh begonia cuttings and its been great. 💚
Love love love this Kaylee xxxx
Begonia care is very similar to aroids. They should do very well if you give them similar warmth and humidity.; even the same type of soil is fine.
Keep your cutting enclosed, if not already. They can propagate through stem and leaves, if they can have a consistent environment.
I love your videos, Kaylee! thanks so much!
The monstera uno is so structured! It’s beautiful! ❤
The black blood is to die for! 🩸 🖤
Maybe put some rooting hormone on the white ice? Or if the stem is hard, cut some little slits to encourage rooting?
The scindapsus tricolor is on my list! It’s beautiful!! I legit have a wishlist on my notes that’s soooo long. But…
1. Philodendron Dolichogynium it’s so dark and long!!
2. Elaphoglossum metallicum of course
3. Leea amabilis also black leaves!
My wishlist although basic af is:
- Established Monstera Alba (bc they're still so expensive in Aus)
- Philo Micans - I had one but it died when I moved house
- Philo Esmeraldense
- and newly added Monstera Uno bc omg we have that in Aus!!
Some sellers are able to get things out of Australia but I’ve heard it’s super expensive!
Love your list! 😍 Have you seen the Scindapsus Tricolor? Its rare three-tone variegation is stunning! 🌿 Would love your thoughts on it! 😊
I would like to get my hands on a very dark & red anthurium 🤞🤞🤞
might I suggest a new kick to your walls: Platycerium 👀 and other ferns.
Begonias
Wondering if you'd ever relook B. pavonina. It's display really depends on it's environment and maturity.
B. Black blood is decently easy in cool and humid conditions - avoid overwatering. Other dark Begonias include erythrocarpa, erythrofolia, Black Metallic, baramensis, nothobaramensis, lambii, sp. Baik, daunhitam
Might I suggest you chuck all your rooting begonias into sphagnum and a fully enclosed transparent box. Humidity helps.
there are clones of sp. Julau that loses the pink in maturity. search for the consistent-pink clone.
Hoyas (full nerd mode incoming)
Interesting flowers: H. decipulae, occultata, telosmoides, albiflora, linavergarae colour forms, versteegii, sangguensis, paradisea, unirana, sungwookii... etc. 🫣
wierd af: spartioides, retrorsa
foliage: mitrata silver, latifolia silver, retrorsa 🤣, versteegii, clemensiorum, callistophylla/finlaysonii variants, sp. Aceh variants, imbricata*cinnamomifolia
the challenge: medinillifolia, jiewhoeiana
additionally: Papuahoya
Ooo I love that Monstera Compacta
2:56 Odd Spot Plants literally just released an adansonii x deliciosa hybrid!! It’s called ‘Magic 8 Ball’ and i prefer the look of it over the Uno
You can find the Begonia Sinbad at the Jungle Haven, Claire has one quite big
the begonia sp julau will lose it's pink as it gets older.
You might like Begonia brevirimosa (Exotica) - it´s simply spectacular, and not too difficult to find. I accidentally killed it this summer, very sad. So this is my no. 1 to get asap. It´s one of the most beautiful plants in existence :-D
Begonia White Ice propagation: just wait a month longer :-) Depending on light and temperatures, you need to wait min.
I just root my begonia in whatever substrate, keep it moist and high humidity until it starts new growth. Also haven't had good luck in water
We got Begonia sp. ’Julau’ for about 17£ and as much shipping to UK.
Great list! My top 3 for this year are:
1. Monstera jungle mint (like yours!)
2. Homelomena pink diamond
3. Maybe an extremely dark anthurium?
