I’m so proud of you! I downsized 10 as well and then added 15 after 🙈. But my goal was to get rid of plants that I didn’t love anymore and replace with ones I truly love so I guess it’s okay 😂
This was one of the best videos!!!! So relaxing & enjoyable Melissa! & you made me feel better about finding mealy bugs on my lowes string of pearls… I almost tossed her but I decided to treat instead. This gave me hope ❤
@ thank you! ♥️ I got her end of November. I feel like it’s weird for them to be popping up now??? but also just got a new pink princess from Lowe’s and added into the same room. Do you think they went from the pink princess to the string of pearls or could they take that long to show up? There was like 4 clumps of white/bugs I unalived with a q tip with alcohol then sprayed tf out of it with captain jacks dead bug, some diluted alcohol & sprayed the rest of my plants near it.
Aw I'm so glad you love it! 🥹 I think I'll prop mine up this year and get rid of it completely. It makes me happy to know that others will love it more 🫶
Yayy! Loved this video, makes me feel better about my collection. Since the thrip issue(they’re back again😢) I’ve decided to get rid of some, I gifted quite a few to my mom & my friends over the months. I’m down to 87 from the 137~ I had. It feels good honestly. I feel like I can manage them all & I get that joy of a new leaf from each one 🥹🫶🏻 I also just upsized the mint 👀 she’s giving me LONG noodle roots ahah and I believe a new leaf is on the way😍😍 super excited for spring! Thank you again for another lovely video✨
I have about 25 house plants but the only one I have a few versions of is the pothos. They are easy to grow and I love trailing plants. I need to get a neon one. I’m sure I will get more plants in the summer.
Melissa, for the Monstera albo (13:37) that is all white, take it out of the light and give it some silica. I have one that I put in low light, and it gave me green; also, the white is all nice, not brown.with selica
Great video. White leaves are a huge problem. I had a varigated geranuim, it cost a small fortune, after 2 years I had 2 small all white leaves, and it died. Now I have a philadendron pushing hopeless white leaves, they whither and die within a week. Anyway, It is fun to clear out abd make space. Have nice weekend♥️🥺
I have a list of plants/props I want to pot up together to save some space, and also some I'm just going to plant out in the yard next summer and let live their best lives, but I also have some I'd like to just get rid of. Hopefully plant swaps and such will start back up soon!
You must feel so accomplished after tackling that big job! If feels so good to get rid of stuff that’s been nagging at you to pay attention to. Then you can relax and enjoy what does bring you joy! I’ve done some of the same and am being more selective about what I bring back in as far as how it will fit in my space and not just buy it for the sake of having it. Now you have many more plants to sell! Bonus!
I think I have to do something similar, I have about 100+ plants and I think I´m a bit over my care capacity right now. I want to pot some duplicate plants together and I want to pot some into pots with bigger reservoir. I also have a some coleus that I want to restart because they became quite ugly over the winter time, If they don´t improve then I´m gonna throw them out I already got rid of two more boring varieties end of last summer. I´m on a weight loss journey right now and new plants will be my reward for reaching a milestone, so I need space for a new one hopefully soon :D
Can you please tell me what your fertilizer ingredients are? I know you use calmag, silica and other ingredients but I couldn’t remember and how much I add. You are such an inspiration and I have learned so much from you!
It did! I want to do it again before spring. I ended up not saving it 😔 I felt like it wasn’t going to rehab well enough for someone and some plants are just not healthy.
Where did you get the black lamp with the 3 lights shown in the beginning of the video? Also, which grow light and watts do you use for it? Look forward to your reply 🙏🏽♥️
i would loveeee some linearis cuttings from you. i have one singular cutting and im too impatient for the ONE strand to eventually give me a full plant 😂
It's an acrylic shoe box, there's lot of different ones on amazon. I like this one here: www.amazon.com/dp/B0D5D6QNC3?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzmeli0992-20&creativeASIN=B0D5D6QNC3&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.1OODWALE01UEU&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d_asin&th=1
Hi Melissa! You have hooked me!! I had to run out and bought quite a few plants. I believe in one of your videos you talked about getting the tall white cabinet at IKEA and I believe also the short terrarium type one as well. Can you please tell me what kind of grow lights you have put in those? Also, do you have to run a fan in those as well?
Hi! ☺️ I have a few cabinets from Ikea and I have the Barrina T5's as well as the T8's. The T8's are in the white Milsbo tall cabinet in my plant room and the others are the T5's. I have a fan in the Rudsta and Milsbo cabinets but not in the smaller greenhouse. I usually keep it vented open for some airflow :)
I need to downsize 😅😅 I've added multiple plants since december, so I need to figure out what to do because I love the majority of my (roughly) 300 plants too much to consider getting rid of 😂
I had to get rid of my Albo syngonium because I kept cutting it back to keep the green but it just kept turning all white, I got tired of doing it so I finally tossed! :(
Why did your Monstera Albo turn all white? That's gorgeous, but so sad that it burns so easily and parishes due to lack of chlorophyll.. I love your Monstera plants..😊❤️ My pink princess is pushing out 4 new leaves, yours is so gorgeous 🥰 I'm loving all your plants! Especially the Hoya linearis ! That's on my 2025 wish list.. 😏 You know how people get baby fever when they see new babies? Well seeing all your plants, I get planty fever 🤒🌱haha!
Is it possible to start giving less light to your albo's to promote more green growth? I have noticed with some of my plants That whenever I give them No light for like half a day They start looking Greener or more dappled shaded light.
I stick cuttings directly in tree fern and perlite and they start to root quickly in 2-3 weeks. I just make sure to keep it watered so it doesn’t dry out all the way. I root in stratum as well.
Hey Melissa , I found your terrarium on IKEA website but I don’t see shelves in them. Did you get those shelves from someplace else and if so, where did you find those? I’d like to start the same kind of set up.
The all white growth usually happens for me after propagating. I think it's just some kind of genetic mutation that occurred. I've had cuttings in various lighting conditions but most of the props are rooted and grown under barrina lights.
That's truly so kind of you! Thank you! 🥹 I think since I'm trying to downsize and get my collection more manageable for me, I really don't want to bring more plants in right now 😔 I'll have my import order coming in soon and I do want to do another purge before spring. I really do appreciate it!!
I bought a mature one and it is growing so fast and the variegation is beautiful vs when I bought a small one. Either way, I’d definitely keep it but that’s my opinion. She has gorgeous plants though but I do agree some plants we do, sadly, just fall out of love with.
Aww it’s one of my favs! I wouldn’t get a mid cutting unless you can see the growth point that way there’s less of a risk with it coming in all white :)
Do those monstera albos bring you joy? It doesn’t sound like they do. If they only create work and don’t bring you joy, get rid of them and buy an albo with better coloring.
they've all started from my main albos in my plant room and I love them. I tend to keep the ones that are growing white to see if I can save them and I love to have a few growing to chop back for props.
I down sized 10 yesterday and bought 6 today 😮
oh no! haha it happens! 🙈
Lol silly girl
😅😅😅YOU got more room for more plants 😂
Well, then you downsized 4. That’s pretty good 😊
😂 Nice!!
I’m so proud of you! I downsized 10 as well and then added 15 after 🙈. But my goal was to get rid of plants that I didn’t love anymore and replace with ones I truly love so I guess it’s okay 😂

The stems of pink princess Philodendron remind me of rubarb!😂
@@terryplum7959 that’s true. It does.
What is so neat is you can sell your downsize or plants you do not want anymore that is nice especially for us!
That monstera albo is absolutely beautiful wven if it wont live id keep it till it was fully unalive xxx
The anthurium shelf looks beautiful!
Thank you so much! 🫶
Nothing more beautiful than a shelf of Anthurium ❤❤❤❤❤ gorgeous!

That variegate white it is very expensive a small one. Keep it like that. ❤
The dichidia is an awesome plant, I love mine!!!
I’ve been wanting to order from your shop. I’ll be on the lookout!🪴😊
Can you please tell me what your fertilizer ingredients are? I know you use calmag, silica and other ingredients but I couldn’t remember and how much I add. You are such an inspiration and I have learned so much from you!
A big box store curtisii initially grew well but then started becoming bald in various spots. Waiting to see what it does🌿😔
Must have felt so good to declutter 🤩 what did you end up doing to the Alocasia infernalis?? Great video as always!
It did! I want to do it again before spring. I ended up not saving it 😔 I felt like it wasn’t going to rehab well enough for someone and some plants are just not healthy.

Good afternoon Melissa this looks like a fun video.

I like the box you have the rehabbing Hoyas in. Did you get that on Amazon? I don’t have a rehab box and I like the size and clarity of the box. 😊

I would love love love to buy a linearis, I have been looking for like 4 years!
I have a lot of props growing right now. I'm having another small restock tomorrow on my site and I'll have some listed :)
@ Wonderful!!! Thank you!!
I need to downsize 😅😅 I've added multiple plants since december, so I need to figure out what to do because I love the majority of my (roughly) 300 plants too much to consider getting rid of 😂
I have so many hoya plants-huge, I mean huge-that I want to get rid of. I want to sell it to get more lol but need to find out where.
I had to get rid of my Albo syngonium because I kept cutting it back to keep the green but it just kept turning all white, I got tired of doing it so I finally tossed! :(
Can get any of those mostly white monsteras? Some had a little green, that’s my og bucket list plant!!
Chop and prop the Curtisii. I’d love a cutting from you
I think I will... I don't love it that much anymore and would rather it go to others who will like it :)
@@plantsbymelissa I would love it. Mine just isn’t doing very well.

Try giving your Albo cuttings a little less light to promote more green…
I was thinking the same. Would that help? I’d like to see that experiment
Is it possible to start giving less light to your albo's to promote more green growth? I have noticed with some of my plants That whenever I give them No light for like half a day They start looking Greener or more dappled shaded light.
I just bought two manjulas when in fact i already had one at home 😅

I stick cuttings directly in tree fern and perlite and they start to root quickly in 2-3 weeks. I just make sure to keep it watered so it doesn’t dry out all the way. I root in stratum as well.
I'm sorry but everyone needs 4 Linearis. I just want one great one - working on it 🤣
Hey Melissa , I found your terrarium on IKEA website but I don’t see shelves in them. Did you get those shelves from someplace else and if so, where did you find those? I’d like to start the same kind of set up.
for which cabinet? The smaller Akerbar one with the acrylic stand?
I think you may be giving your monstera albos a bit too much light. May be the reason you keep getting all white leaves!
The all white growth usually happens for me after propagating. I think it's just some kind of genetic mutation that occurred. I've had cuttings in various lighting conditions but most of the props are rooted and grown under barrina lights.
Too much light for the albos?
You’re right you don’t need four of any plant.
haha yeah 4 is a lot 🙈
Which Albo plant went all white so I’ll know. Thanks ☺️
Nvm…monsterra 🌱 ❤
What is ur website? Very new to Hoyas but I love the lineris
It’s www.plantsbymelissa.com

I want to buy a laneriaris (sp?) from you. I have yet to buy from your shop and that is what I want hopefully I can grab one.

@iwalanibajala5251 and some just fall out of love with me and drop their leaves no matter what I do. 😂

Can/will you send me the monstera albo? I would like to see what I could do. I don't have that plant, so it would be an experience for me.
