RIP Glen I will never forget you. I Always wanted to see you growing up, and I finally did in Branson Mo.during your farewell concert. I was so excited. Thank God I got to see you.Hope I can meet your family one day. I pray that I can.I am also hoping i can visit Billstown Arkansas before i leave this world.
@@kenc5970 like I said, i think chet only gave the cgp award to fingerpickers that he knew personally. And in no way shape or form does glen stand above chet.
no, that's Carl Jackson pretty sure. Oh wait, i just looked again, I think that mouth does look like Hartford, I can only see the mouth and part of the face on that one close up because the Ovation guitar of glen (the neck of the guitar) is in the way. And also Harford liked to play with just his fingers and I think Carl always used banjo finger picks and Carl didn't have a beat-up banjo shoulder strap like that.
all I can picture during this song is the pervert portrayal of Benny Hill running in fast motion chasing scantily clad girls in circles around the same tree or bushes...I really think he was a perv...Benny that is, not clean cut Glenn...
It was too fast and choppy. It looses something if not played finger style, like Chet Atkins. I'm not knocking Glen Campbell's ability just his choice of songs.
I adored and idolized Glen since the 1960's when I first started playing the guitat and I will for all eternity. Few guitar players could touch him and even fewer singer/guitar players(0) could. But you are 100% correct, he played Yakety Sax/Axe too fast.
I first became a Glen Campbell fan at the age of 7 while watching Goodtime hour with my parents in 1969. Thanks for all the Goodtimes Glen Campbell!
Never get sick of Glen's great guitar work!

is there anything Glen couldn't do musically??....insane talent.
John m ! Lol! I don't think there was nothing he couldn't do! Loved him!
Nope, most gifted all around guitarist.
He could assist Jerry reed and vice a versa.
Shredding to the Benny Hill song. Glen is a bad mo fo on a guitar no question.
It predates Benny Hill.
This guy was just pure talent. Incredible. I’d like to play like this someday before I die. 😅
Greatest picker of all time!
Fantastic ,OMG ,he could pic !
4 Leaf Cloverin it!!! thank you for posting. peace
Glen SHOULD have been awarded a CGP by Chet Atkins!!!
Surprised he wasn't.
I think Chet awarded the CGP title only to fingerpickers
@@BB-fr4ic Glen was a few levels above Chet. Didn't need his award !

@@BB-fr4ic Maybe as a flatpicker ?
It's amazing how fast he picked that but actually I think it sounds better slowed down a little
0:40 That Fender banjo...
RIP DEAR GLEN
he literally died in the worst way possible, dementia
Mister flying fingers!
Wow.
I perfer to hear this at .75 speed. To me it sounds a little better
Insane
Nice one
Great Roy Clark song
😮
Glen made sure he played it fast as hell I see
Glen was always fast, why he is so respected.
I hear the bass and a little of the banjo.
John Hartford on banjo...amiright?
it sure is!
Looks to me like Hartford

That dang drummer was speeding up!😎
1:06 Looks up thinking "This tempo has grown tiresome."
The banjo player looks like Michael Nesmith.
Musta been on some heavy duty cocaine moving at the speed of light haha 😂
Freakin' A
Fml that guy was good
glen eddie van halen eruption buckethead shredding campbell
Fast isn't everything
michael romeo
"Fast isn't everything"
But he could do everything, including fast.
Horribly fast. Seemed to be in too much of a hurry
Nilakanthan Kannan
"Horribly fast. Seemed to be in too much of a hurry."
It is meant to sound that way, including the accelerando at the end.

Too fast ! Less pleasure. It's a melody !
Ok that was cool, now play something fast 😂

Well that was boring. Campbell always had an ego and that was the effect it has. A shame as he was a talented player.

Chris B : Pretty sure Glen didn’t base his career off of what you find boring. Sounds like you have a ego problem among other issues.
Зачем так ускорять? Мелодия от этого лучше не стала!
