Thanks for the video, it is much appreciated. It answered a lot of the questions I had. I'm not sure I got the satellite RX bound properly so I'll try that again.
Just forgot how simple Spektrum is to setup! Appreciate you and all that you do for the hobby. I got one of those "bind button" Spektrum clone receivers from AMain for my S1. Worked flawlessly so far. Having used the RadioMaster Zorro and Jumper T-lite both the SFHSS and DSMx protocols, I feel like I forgot to do something!!!😂😂😂 My TBS Tango 2 is getting the MPM add-on soon. Plan to bind some Spektrum, Futaba and.... Crossfire! If I can find a receiver small enough. Who knows... Keep it up my man!
This helps a lot. Is using auto-level in idle up 1/2 simply done by flicking the flight mode switch to auto-level, or is there an intermittent panic-button assigned that auto-levels without dropping head speed?

Hey there. Another channel posted that there is no telemetry with the Goosky S1 when using the Futaba protocol. He setup the heli with an edgetx radio. Do you have telemetry with your Spectrum? Any way to have Telemetry with an S1 and a RadioMaster TX16S? Thanks!
Thanks for the video, very nice. Can you flip or roll and fly this helicopter inverted in the stabilization mode? I like the way the helicopter feels/flies in stabilization mode, seems to wander less and be more lock in. In the other mode it does not feel locked in, is there some flybar controller settings you can recommend that would make the helicopter feel/fly more locked in the 3D mode?
Hello Jeff, all of your videos have been a big help to me. I'm looking to get an S1 and wanted to know if a AR6200 sat will work. I have a 6200 receiver to bind it with. Thanks!
Does the throttle curve and pitch curve also affects how agile the heli is when it comes to flips and stuff? so my heli out of the box takes forever to rotate in a flip, what can i change in my settings for it to be more agil?
No, throttle and pitch curve does not affect rotation rate. You will want to go into the FBL (you can use the Bluetooth app) and speed up the Elevator and Aileron rates to make the heli have a faster rotation.
Just picked up one of these. Have to get a Sat RX. I guess on the BNF, blade pitch is already set up on the FBL unit for the different flight modes? Or is that done through the app? Really appreciate your videos. Going through your Raw 420 build series right now. Very, very helpful! Been almost 10 years since my last heli build.
Thank you for watching! I’m glad these videos are helpful! Yes, you will need a DSMX satellite. I would recommend the Kensun DSMX as it has a bind button. If you use a Spektrum DSMX satellite you will need an RX to bind. Everything in the FBL is set. You just need to setup your radio.
I like the telemetry feature on Blade Helicopters. Is it possible to get battery voltage telemetry on Goosky? OMP? I have NX10. Also, what is the brand of the satellite receiver you are using?
Or just bind your Futaba or Radiomaster directly to the built in receiver in the Goosky S1 FBL controller! 🙂 PS: I'm not a big believer in high throttle curves and crazy head speeds.
This is the best comment ever, maybe in the entire history of the Internet. I guess most people who google for "Goosky S1 Spektrum ..." are probably so glad that you told them how a Futaba binds to that Heli, I mean, now that I think about it, it feels like my Spektrum bind to the Heli just by me reading your nobel- and purlitzer-price worthy piece of highly relevant Information.
I just bought an IX14 like you have. Trying to set the GS1 like you. Only on the monitor screen is doesn't have Gear. It has GYR where yours has Gear? Any idea?
Hey! Quick question: You said you like to take some negative out of the pitch curve in normal mode (30, 40,50,75,100), what would the standard pitch curve be if you didn't like to take some negative out of it?
So normal pitch curve is linear, so 0-25-50-75-100. But in normal mode for taking off and landing there is no reason to have a lot of negative pitch putting pressure on the skids. Unless your normal mode is a Stunt more or idle up. Then you will want a linear curve.
I am at a loss. I have an NX8 and followed your set up. As soon as the throttle is at 50% the helicopter launches but goes forward, down elevator does not bring it back. It also lur he's to the left. What's up with that. HELP!!
Hi Jeff. I see you configured your Gear channel to your flight mode so a three position switch. I want to place it on a two position switch, switch C on my DX6. I am not sure if it working, can you tell me which values are actually output to your Gear channel when you move through to see what value triggers the auto level and adjust that accordingly?
Thank you for watching. So normal mode is used for take off/landing or just normal flying around. On helis like this you can put the Auto level to this mode and have a “beginner” mode and flip to Idle 1 or 2 for 3D or back to normal mode.
I'm new to heli's and don't have old stuff laying around. Since I'm starting fresh with a Spektrum NX8 Radio, what is the easiest thing for me to buy to make it compatible with Goosky S1. Thanks, Jeff, or anyone else who sees this and responds.
