@@qb1482 Yea, but All Will Be One is the runner up, and the deck takes more advantage of that card, mostly incidentally, because it's just more powerful than Ichormoon

Every time you milled the underdog soul transfer deck with jace instead of yourself I died just a tiny bit inside. Video was fun though

It seems like the advantage of this deck is the unorthodox damage dealing. Cards and plays that you normally don't play against end up being what you need to be prepared for.
Yeah, it's pretty good at catching people by surprise. People don't expect to have to deal with Blast Zone dealing damage and all the other weird synergies.
In Japanese there’s a saying - nanakorobi, yaoki - that means “Fall down seven times, get up eight”. Seth’s advice on brewing (and life) is surprisingly similar!

When I heard you say your Bankbuster would "ultimate", it kinda hit me that all these cards: Bankbuster, Fable - and sagas in general, Wedding Announcement, Sanctuary Warden, Titan of Industry, Brutal Cathar, etc make me feel like every spell's a planeswalker now. Like modal spells that stick around.
It's just the direction the designers have been going down. For a long time, creatures have been better than spells, because they interact with the game in multiple zones. Spells, not so much. In part because before creatures were good, spells were the insanely powerful.
@@Ornithopter470 huh? What? Creatures were never better than spells not now not ever. They've been slowly trying to get em to be as strong as spells and we're kinda getting there now but they've definitely not been or are stronger than spells
This type of enchantment or artifact has been a thing in magic forever, there are cards like this since alpha, which is why we have all these weird counters. Like time vault or recurring nightmare, survival of the fittest and such. Repeatable permanents that get weirdo counters
@@DimT670 the time counter thing on Time Vault was bad rules errata that's been removed for going on two decades now.
Ragavan is almost certainly better than most spells in burn. Creatures have come a very long way from Tarmogoyf being the best creature in the game. Hence why it sees little play now compared to ten years ago.

As for ragavan, its actually the perfect example. Its a 1 mana 2/1 that does everything, yet dies 1 to 1 to shock. This is the fundamental weakness of creatures that necessitated in part their increase in strength, their fragility. There's a million ways to kill a creature
Also im pretty sure it's not better than time walk or ancestral or unearth or many other low cost spells
@@DimT670 you specifically mentioned the wonky counters on time Vault. Which it doesn't get and never should have gotten.
The "dies to removal" argument isn't valid, as it applies to instants and sorceries. They lose to countermagic. Ragavan is a one mana creature that gives you lotus petals, steals cards from your opponents deck, and does damage. You can dash it to protect it from removal as well. That's effectively 3 spells for one card. This is inherent card advantage. I'm not saying that all creatures are stronger than all spells, just that the power level of creatures vs. spells ended up inverted compared to what it was earlier in the games history. In the early days, spells were strictly better, because your creatures were really bad (Serra Angel is the power level of a bad common today). Meanwhile spells were insanely strong (Time walk? Time walk.) That balance got better as time went on, and got parity in the early 2000's. Some sets were more creature focused, some more spell focused (referring to the power level of spells vs creatures here, not numbers of cards). Then they started pushing more powerful creatures, and more powerful spells. And then we got things like bone crusher giant/stomp and adventures. Bone crusher is pretty much strictly better than shock. It leaves you a card up because you still get the creature side. Brutal cathar is in the same boat, being a "removal" spell that leaves a body behind. I'd much rather play cathar than journey to nowhere, because it's strictly better.
That's my favorite type of magic. The weirder the games, the better it gets. Winrate be damned; you still win some, but every game is fun and requires thought. Cool stuff
my dude i was up until 4am last night toolkitting a deck around the Teferi combo with that mass draw spell and seeing how Ichormoon gauntlet interacted and you hit me with this? You absolute legend.

Amazing video Seth. I was worried we'd never get to see tablet draw cards or gauntlet proliferation but it happened in that last match!
Would monumental Facade have been a good land choice over a blast zone or two? would help kick off oil on some of our permanents, and it lets us put oil on cards that wouldnt usually get oil, which means those cards would get two counters with each proliferate.
I really like Blast Zone in this deck, but I do think Facade would be sweet too.
Why not both?

Investigator's Journal is something I feel like you might be missing from this deck. It's kinda silly with All will be one.
I made a version inspired by this for bo1. It's super fun to play and definitely catches people off guard. It feels like I'm piloting a phyrexian machine when I play it. It's great.
It also makes for super interesting and fun games whether I win or lose.
Super sweet list, love seeing my two favorite mythics from the set in one deck. I do think the list needs an inquisitor’s journal or two somewhere in the 75 for an OTK kill against go wide decks.
Let’s see if I have this in my head right- 1:15 board state: Play AWBO, triggers gauntlet (nothing), uptick sylex( ping one shield counter), cast bankbuster, triggers gauntlet (ping 2nd shield counter), bankbuster resolves (3 damage to angel)… yeah no think you were 1 mana short of being able to use the blast zone to take out the angel. RIP. Enjoyed watching these games!
Jace is a lot better than people are giving credit for. The +1 is super useful on creature decks, the draw is useful, and the -X can actually be a threat - I've used it to kill numerous decks in control mirrors (who just don't expect a couple jaces used to wipe out 30 cards)

Filligree Silex is fire I run four in an oil counters deck and have had enough oil counters to just kill opponents with two in hand
I've seen cgb talk about jace and use jace for his mill ability and he actually seems really strong if you plan around that and actually try to mill em out. very underrated imo

Also I updated the invoke madness deck with the only creature in the list now being ovika she costs seven but the deck already makes tons of treasure to combo off with arcane bombardment but now in the late games instead of just trying to win off of the grixis modal spell that deals 3 gains is 3 life and instead get a ton of goblins off our high cost spells giving the deck yet another win condition without altering it's play speed and gameplan
I've been working on a really cool deck with all will be one. It's built around norns wellspring, churning reservoir, planeswalkers, and all will be one. Super fun but super inconsistent

Deck looks super fun and good; just wish you would -2 Jace on yourself instead of your opponents because of Tenacious Underdog.
Sophim + All will be one + the 4 to player 1 to a creature battle you can dump 18 to the face on the battle drop if it comes in last
ok, so... watching this deck made me really want to see gruul all will be one. migloz is super solid on its own, but with all will be one is really insane. and the biggest draw to gruul would be you get to play storm the festival, which bypasses some of the awkwardness of playing all will be one. by letting it come into play at the same time as something else, you ping something immediately as they both enter, rather than having a turn where you play all will be one and just pray you get to untap with it. green also gives you lukka and wrenn as alternative top end walkers to replace those you're losing from blue. i really want to see this!
Opponent punted SO HARD in match one game three. They kicked the tear asunder for no reason to exile your enchantment, meaning they had no mana open to sac plaza of heroes.

I've taken this deck and made it for pioneer. No idea what will happen. Still tuning. But it is fun so far.

This did really feel like an All will be one deck, should probably have moved this to an older format seeing how ichormoon gauntlet does some very silly things with the teferi that activates on your opponents turn.
So when I saw Ichor Moon, I thought you would try to combine it with Carth the Lion in a modern sultai build. Did you try this build Seth and if it didn’t work, can you tell me what went wrong? Been wanting to try some builds with Carth and thought Ichormoon would be great in that shell
That sounds awesome! I think we’re still in the early phase of the new set where he mostly plays Standard - in a week or two he’ll probably switch to other formats like Modern.

Is there a way to fit Third-Path Iconoclast into this deck? You're already on a pseudo-prowess plan - you would have to dilute the counters-matter plan a little bit, but it would give the deck another angle of attack as well as some extra buffer against aggro decks.
I think this deck could use some third path iconoclasts in the sideboard for maximum chumping

It's less flavorful, but I think 1-2 maindeck brotherhood's end would have been good. Also, this has to be one of the most entertaining decks I've seen in a while! :D

I wonder if there's any halfway reasonable way to put 7 planeswalkers on board to take infinite turns by proliferating 12 of them and taking an extra turn with the last one every turn. I think that math works out - 6x proliferate, assuming one is at 7 loyalty to start (and they all definitely have at least 1 loyalty to start) gets, at worst, 6 planeswalkers with 7 loyalty each and one with 13 that you then take an extra turn with. Next turn, after loyalty abilities, you have one with 1 loyalty, one with 7 loyalty, and five with 13 loyalty. You can then take turns off to ultimate the planeswalkers, while still staying ahead of the proliferate curve for extra turns, and kill your opponent that way.
Five might be the minimum to make the circuit work, if I'm right? Assuming they're correctly staggered. Four proliferate and one takes a turn, loyalty 1+, 5+, 5+, 5+, 9+, repeat indefinitely. So you need a planeswalker on 9+ loyalty, and another on 5+ loyalty, with a total of 5 on board, to infinitely loop extra turns? Goes down to 4 planeswalkers if you can get Carth in the mix?
I think a grixis version of the deck be fun

The other day I accidentally came across an infinite turn combo in my casual 5 color superfriends deck. I had out ichormoon gauntlet, vorinclex monstrous raider, and 5 random planeswalker, the only one that mattered was terferi temporal pilgrim. You might be able to get away with 3 or 4 planeswalker though. Anyway, it just needed to be enough so that by proliferating with everyone except teferi, I could ultimate him every other turn for infinite turns
All you need is Vorinclex and 5 Planeswalkers, and somehow not to have already won the game.

To be fair though, I had out mostly just the uncommon planeswalkers from War of the Spark, so I got a couple of tokens from them and then they were basically enchantments until my ichormoon gauntlet came out

It’s funny how many people thought Ichormoon was insanely busted given how hard it was for Seth to even kind of get it off the ground
In a Superfriends deck it is busted. Especially with Urza planes walker and Jace/ wondering E. But I think Seth was focused on using it alongside All Will Be One and that is harder. But with Farewells, Depopulate ect it is busted in the right controller players hands.
@@breakingthewall2112 ok, but it has the classic issue of having to spend your turn 3 dropping it to do nothing. And it really needs a critical mass of PWs to be good. Do you really want to spend your ten mana and two cards or whatever to get the Urza planeswalker, just to use 0: proliferate instead of his other abilities? If you’re running lots of PWs, every PW you proliferate is doing nothing other than enabling your other PWs. So you need at least 2 for it to be useful AT ALL. I love proliferation but I just find that it’s hard to justify because you need to have a permanent with counters that actually affect the board state before it does anything. Having PWs stop doing their thing just to increment counters doesn’t actually seem that great to me.
All will be one was the mvp in this deck. Imagine if it was the main focus.
It's funny watching Seth play with as many alt card styles and alt arts he can get, and then watching Jim Davis who vehemently wishes there was a way to turn off card styles for his opponents during games. Different strokes for different folks.
Isn't there a turn off card styles option? It's at the middle top of the Gameplay menu.

Yeah, it won't be in creature form unless you crew it, but it will get the counters.
it's a technically legal play to do that to pay 3 and tap your fable to draw a card. but if you are in that scenario you have a flipped fable, and i doubt it'll come up often that pay 3 and tap your fable to draw is your best play.
@@doormatt72 I think the idea was that you can use it as a way to trigger All Will Be One for 3 damage. But I guess if you want to pay, you can draw a card too!

This deck feels like it should be Jeskai maybe? It makes mana worse but having access to something like Farewell or even Spirited Companion and Wedding Announcement feels better
