I love this. You so concisely explain the lore., you deserve so much more recognition. Great content.I really hope you get round to doing an "explained' for all the planes.
Thanks so much and glad you enjoy the content! The goal is to cover each plane at some point, so there will definitely be more plane explained videos in the future
Wowie, so much research and care must go into these videos. I STAND IN AWE of the knowledge ! To the Lorebrarians, please know that you work is very much appreciated! :-) I have been playing MTG sine the beginning, I was a comic/card/collectibles dealer on the East Coast back in the day and a professional appraiser / grader . Of all the things that have come n gone, MTG has endured and is greatly loved;and you guys do it justice. Thank You so much ! Please keep up the great work :-)
Innistrad has been my favourite plane lore-wise since it was first introduced, and a large part of that ties back to the angels versus demons element. I have built hundreds of commander decks and will probably build hundreds more, but I will always have an angel deck and a demon deck.
Seriously nothing beats listening to your channel while chilling or deck building! Another great video! Would love to see one for Merfolk! Good job man! All the best! Cheers from Singapore!
One year ago this channel had 2k subs according to this video. Great work and keep up this awesome growth. These videos are fantastic and I use them mostly for dnd, though I am a long time magic player who enjoysthe lore.
Wow, I'm so grateful for the amazing growth and support I've received. And stay tuned, I'm making my first foray into the Forgotten Realms lore this week! More to follow if it goes we
Man I just discoverer ur channel recently and I love it so much, the videos are so well done and super fun to watch keep it up brother and thanks for ur effort mate
I don't play Magic anymore, but the stories are so deep. Your videos are very nice to watch and listen to. I love your channel, keep up the good work! Okay, off to explore the lore...
Recently discover your videos and already think the channel is underated, but if the algoritm send me to this way I hope it keep bringing new people to discorver your beautiful work in unraveling the mtg lore. Much love from Argentina. And btw I propose "A study in Nature: Elfs in Magic the Gathering" as an idea from a future video
Listened to this while putting together an angel deck and the themes were fleshed out way more due to my new understanding of the lore of angels so thank you
It's also interesting to note that, as certain pieces of magic story show, some demons are actually quite human (specifically the ones on Ravnica and Innistrad).
After the dragons and angels the only iconic creature types left is hydras and sphinxes, but both of them underrepresented in the lore of MtG. Still little salty when I read that dragons will be headmasters at stixhaven, the ONE place where sphinxes are practicly made for
You make a very fair point. But can I offer the counterpoint that Sphinxes may not wanna share their knowledge? Thus a school simply wouldn't be up their alley, yanno?
Only recently found your channel and have loved the vids so far! Have you thought of maybe doing a Study in-episode on elementals and/or avatars on different planes of MTG?
Great job as always man! I am really digging this close looks at such an iconic creature type. Do you think you'll do this for other major creature types?
@@TheLorebrarians honestly my suggestion would have been demons lol or horros but I mean there is a ton so whatever one you choose should be interesting.
Your videos really are inspiring. These videos deserve SO MUCH MORE. Thank you for this. I will now be building a new demon commander deck. You will be in mind! Love from Canada 🇨🇦
This is a WONDERFUL story. The way you present it, it is as if these cards were unearthed at a Demonic Ritual Site, and their capricious writings capture a story of divinity, but only for those who have some sort of esoteric reverence. I'm not kidding! I played Magic Cards when I was young, and if you had told me then that the little writings on each card told a story of fantasy-history when combined with the image on the card and even its function(!), I would have told you that was literally impossible, and if it were true then the cards are true as well. :X-Files Theme:
6:00 So I'm probably not the only person that said but I speculate like with angels and even possibly elementals may come from the blind eternites and by being aspected to black mana
I always thought that Xathrid was the "black mana" region of Shandalar, like Evos Isle is the "blue mana" region, Thune is the "white mana" region, Kalonia is the "green mana" region, and Valkas is the "red mana" region.
My guy idk if all if you thought about stopping these videos, but please don't bruh no joke I ain't know shit about this now I just play Diablo on my switch at work and learn MTG shit off you bro so on behalf of me and other Navy gaurds continue doing your thing lol
Good video, but I don't remember there being a 10 year break from publishing Demon cards "due to social and cultural" issues...and I started playing while we were still having to deal with the Bible thumpers calling it "that black magic game" lol
Appreciate it. Here is the article that mentions demons: magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/making-magic/walking-undead-2011-10-17 I think it was about 7 years, but I wasn't playing back then
For some reason the years of DnD and Pathfinder make me unable to see demons as mainly black instead of equal parts red and black. Also, the devils being mostly red (especially with the smaller fiends of Innistrad) makes me even more uncomfortable to use the arts or run campaigns in the MtG planes.
Bro, the efforts that goes into these are much appreciated.
Thanks, happy to deliver!
These are my fave mtg lore videos, pls make more!
So glad to hear it! I love making them, but they definitely take some time and research

A tale about amonkhet, innistrad, or the blind eternities would be ever so awesome
Would love to see one of these on zombies
Me too

These are by far my favorite type of lore videos you or anyone else make. I can't wait to see what other creature types you choose.
Hey, this just popped up in my feed, I can't get enough lore so super excited to find your channel!
Awesome and welcome to the channel, hope you enjoy!
Very well done, thank you!!
One year ago this channel had 2k subs according to this video. Great work and keep up this awesome growth. These videos are fantastic and I use them mostly for dnd, though I am a long time magic player who enjoysthe lore.
Also the abyss is definitely the one from dnd that spawns demons eternally.

Awesome, welcome to the channel and thanks for the suggestion! Elves are a classic creature type

It's also interesting to note that, as certain pieces of magic story show, some demons are actually quite human (specifically the ones on Ravnica and Innistrad).
There’s demons on Strixhaven’s Plane too. Also the battle arena place
I haven’t been here for all of the first year, but you better believe I’ll stay for all the next. Thanks for making some of the best content around!
Thank you so much, really been appreciating the support! I hope to continue making content you enjoy

Now while I love the video and everything you have said. I am afraid that as an agent of the [Redacted] you’ll need to be silenced.

You just earned yourself a new sub. Keep up the good work friendo
great video man and what's your next study gonna be? sphinxes would be cool
Thanks, and I've not decided yet. But I love hearing suggestions and I'll keep yours in mind
Never in my life did I expect to have a grown man read me a bed time story... lmao
Wow I love the music on this video
Good job man, I can get behind this
I was surprised you didn't mention Kagemaro, the first human in Kamigawa to be so evil, he became a demon.
you make the best lore videos on RUclips
Thank you, so glad you are enjoying them
man, this channel is a blast!
Not sure about favourite type, but my favourite individual is Rakdos, simply because he's oddly reasonable, in his way
I always thought that Xathrid was the "black mana" region of Shandalar, like Evos Isle is the "blue mana" region, Thune is the "white mana" region, Kalonia is the "green mana" region, and Valkas is the "red mana" region.
Great video!
I always love these videos. Kinda sad my boi Davriel and his demons didn't get a shout out in Innistrad though
You're right, bit of an oversight on my part. I'll have to make it up to Davriel in the future
One on wizards for the new set coming out?
Also, good video loved the dragon one and this one
Great suggestion, there are definitely a lot of wizards to look at!
Thank you for the work
so good material.Great мanner of narration. .Так держать, брат.
Thanks, I appreciate it
A Study in Ferocity: The Werewolves of Magic: The Gathering
Definitely a cool creature! Unfortunately, there aren't too many outside the plane of Innistrad
Demons are my favorite creature type in magic so cool but so damn expensive to make a full demon tribe for Commander
Your voice made my kitten asleep. Thank you
Can y'all do a study into MTG's Sphinx tribe? I think they're not as well represented as the other main color creature types.
This video shall make an excellent sacrifice
I want to see voodoo demons omfg
In the D&D cosmology there is a plane called The Abyss, which is also ruled by demons.I wonder if it's just coincidence?
Cool, I didn't know that. Probably coincidence, but that's interesting crossover potential in the upcoming D&D set
Can we get a study in death that covers zombies/ necromancers?
My guy idk if all if you thought about stopping these videos, but please don't bruh no joke I ain't know shit about this now I just play Diablo on my switch at work and learn MTG shit off you bro so on behalf of me and other Navy gaurds continue doing your thing lol
You're so underrated
This is like watching a movie
Who's the last demon to have Liliana's soul?
I think my favorite demons are the ones from the plane of innistrad. Kinda boring I know haha.
The demons in the order that Liliana killed them:
Kothophed
Griselbrand
Razaketh
Belzenlok
The innistrad demons are some of my fave too
@@TheLorebrarians Everything about Innistrad is awesome, definitely my favorite plane!
Huh. Gix was a Thran Outcast. I didn't know he had been converted to a demon.
A Study In deceit: faeries of Magic the Gathering
Nice

Kuro, Pit Lord
His name is "black"?
Just built a demon deck so yeah.
Can you do humans next
👏
Ah. Nixalis. Someone who has yet to do anything of significance and yet gets so much hype.
So demons are capitalists and angels are communists
first lol
Why havent I seen your channel before? This video is really good and interesting.
I guess it's a little small for the YT algorithm, but we're making steady progress! Glad you enjoyed the vid
