I discovered your channel a few days ago. I have to say I am impressed. RUclips is full of MTG lore videos and I've tried watching a lot of them. But yours just WORK for me for some reason. Is it the narration, the images, the format? Not sure but it just works. I love it. I very often find myself bored with Standard. However watching these videos sparks joy and makes me go back to playing. MTG lore is just so rich and cool.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate hearing that my content can help spark interest or passion in others. It's the reason I started and I love sharing tales for you to enjoy.
I wholeheartedly agree! I have always wanted to get into Magic lore but everytime I tried looking I couldn't find anything I really liked until The Lorebrarians
Kaldheim was such a fascinating plane: the ten realms, a plethora of gods, heroes and ancient legendary creatures ... all acting as the stage for an interesting plot with Tibalt's scheming and the Phyrexian threat. Unfortunately, thanks to new WotC approach, a week after the release of the set and it was already time to create hype for TSR and Strixhaven, leading to this exciting world with so much potential to be pretty much forgotten leaving hardly any mark. :-(
I personally hate the new approach, I started in Theros and having 3 sets really let you get into the world and story, norse mythology is my favorite so I wish it would have gotten the same treatment as theros.
this is late but my favorite is Skemfar. I've loved elves ever since I was a child and since reclaiming my life as a Norse Pagan it's exciting to incorporate my beliefs in my hobbies in a fun and different way. Skemfar let's me enjoy a made up lore where I can have fun and still honor my life. I've met others who tried to do the same thing with their religions/beliefs and I can finally be like "yeah let's have a fun battle." it's amazing.
Very cool video! 😃 I like Norse Mythology and Kaldheim is amazing! I wonder if we'll ever get a top-down Irish Mythology plane with gods inspired by the Tuatha de Danann, it would be pretty cool! 😀
Waiting for Saskia and Licia's homeplane! 😀 And I wait for Garruk's medieval homeplane too, I'm curious to see how they'll differentiate it from Eldraine, less fairy tales more baloths I guess! 😁
Ok so far this is my favorite attempt at MTG stroy telling on RUclips thus far, and I'm all over this stuff rn. You're voice is nice, stable/level.. I like how you keep the card displays simple, transitions etc. Thank you for doing this!! 🙏
Gotta agree with many here. I tried watching MTG content in the past but something about your presentation makes it easy to follow and more or less immersive. I would love to a multi part summary of the adventures of the gatewatch through the sets, someday, maybe :P Great channel
my fiancé finally wore me down with getting into MTG xD. By slowly teaching me how to play little by little and coaxing me to play a round here and there for the 5 years we been together. But it was this box set that finally broke the seal and now I'm enjoying myself playing MTG! he bought two boxes and had me try and build a deck with the common/uncommon to help me familiarize with the cards. And that's how my dwarf deck was born! picked the cards myself while my fiancé helped me synergize it. Now I want to learn more about the lores of MTG!
Amazing video as always! I absolutely loved the dive into Witcher lore last week but this weeks super interesting trek to Kaldheim was definitely one of your best! Can’t wait for the wizards trailer tonight and can’t wait for your next video!
The only thing that comes to mind may be the gods and their disciples on theros, although those aren't as neatly divided. Then of course the three color shards/wedges of Alara/Tarkir
I love to nitpick but because it's not a legendary land it's not the world tree it's a world tree as there are lots of them. But love the videos keep it up
that really bothered me to be honest ... I understand that mechanically speaking legendary lands are a frustrating thing to have in your hand once one is already on the battlefield, but still ... THE World Tree should have been only one: massive flavour fail by WotC!
Can a planeswalker planes walk to a different realm if there on one already (ex: if a planeswalker planes walk from bretagard, could they go to istfell?)
this is such a wonderful and succinct explanation of this plane. thank you for putting this together.
Thanks so much, glad that you enjoyed it
As someone who grew up with Norse mythology, I'm super stoked about this set

Don't know where I'd be without your knowledge of MTG. Thanks and keep staying Pawzitive Eric
So glad you've been liking the content. You do the same Pawz

As a midgardian, I'd have to say that Bretgard is my favorite realm here, though the Valkyrie do seem pretty rad.

This planes explained series have indeed left me spellbound.

Thank you, and I totally agree! I think a Roman/Celtic plane will be in the near future based off of the few subtle hints we've gotten. Can't wait

Yes, he's one of my favorite planeswalkers! and we've not spent too much time on his backstory in sets, would love to explore it

Thanks so much for the kind words and I'm glad you enjoy the content!
That was WONDERFUL!

Hope we get to visit Kaldheim again soon. I've got this weird love of the 'snow' mechanic/mana.

Thanks so much for the kind words and suggestion, would love to have a Gatewatch Saga sometime!
Wonderfully written and presented! I'm really excited for Kaldheim now!
Thanks and that's great, it's looking to be a pretty cool set!

Haha that's great, it is definitely an addictive game! Learning the stories and lore make it even more enjoyable to play for me

Thank you so much, and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the Witcher too! I'll be bouncing between the two universes in the coming months
Fantastic videos, happy to have found you just in time for Kaldheim!
Thanks so much, glad you enjoy them!
Kaldheim is my favorite, All time plane in Magic The Gathering
That's awesome, I really like the feel of the different realms. And of course, Norse mythology is pretty sweet
I’m loving these. Hitting a like everytime!
Appreciate it, glad you enjoy!
This channel is great
Wow, a lot of gems in here I never knew about the plane!
Thanks a lot for this video. Absolutely magnificent. Looking forward for more on Kaldheim and wtf are Eldrazi doing there?!
Glad you liked it! And do you mean Phyrexians? Stay tuned for Part 2, we'll cover that as well as the history of the plane!
@@TheLorebrarians Err, right. Phyrexians, mybad. Confused the badies ;)
Aside from pronunciation, this is a very good video
I'm really excited for this set, I'll probably be able to finish my Saskia viking deck off with some very flavorful peices.
Sounds like a super fun deck, plenty of options for additions in this set!
Kaldeim and lorwyn are my favourite planes because of their connection to norse and celtic mythology
The realms are so clearly divided into color pairs, reminds me of Ravnica. Are there any other planes that have this level of color pairing?
The only thing that comes to mind may be the gods and their disciples on theros, although those aren't as neatly divided. Then of course the three color shards/wedges of Alara/Tarkir
Strixhaven perhaps and the shards of alara
Another great video :)
Glad you enjoyed
Heck yeah! Time for a new video!
Thanks for the help understanding this stuff!
You bet, hope some things were cleared up!
Dammit I love Kaldheim so much
I love to nitpick but because it's not a legendary land it's not the world tree it's a world tree as there are lots of them. But love the videos keep it up

Sweet!
Dang, forgot how many of my favorite cards were in Kaldheim
I hope you'll be teaching history class at Strixhaven
I may be a guest lecturer in the near future ;)
"Immersturm" is btw. german for "Never ending storm"
Pls do kamigawa
How the Kannah gather with the other clans if they can't leave the forest?
The clans go to the forest.. duh
Shame that this plane got so condensed. This is way too much world building to fit into a single set.
Can a planeswalker planes walk to a different realm if there on one already (ex: if a planeswalker planes walk from bretagard, could they go to istfell?)
Iirc according to the first Kaya story, you can’t.
They can't planeswalk from a realm to another.
Thanks for the help.
Do we know if there is gonna be a dnd sourcebook for starnheim? Seems like a great setting
I'm not certain, but it definitely gives some Theros vibes for a fun mythological foundation for dnd
10/10
The Curtesy? Curta Sea?
Okay then.
:)
"equality"... more progressive propaganda.
