@Methus3lah just because they aren't good stories doesn't mean they don't have their own stories.
I'm assuming they mean primarily all the shit that's just franchise crossovers. THOSE don't add much to the overall mtg narrative, especially given they have their own franchise sized worth of story and lore of their own.
Bloomburrow is unique in that it stands on its own, as its own thing.

I do wonder why they didn't use the format of the keyword Ferocious from Khans of Tarkir. If I remember correctly, it was a keyword that checked when things had power 4 or greater.

It's so nice to see all the Redwall comments. They were my favorite books growing up, I actually got to meet Brian Jacques at a local bookstore when I was in elementary school. I recently re purchased almost the entire collection of books. I absolutely love Bloomburrow because it is so close to the world of Redwall. Anyone who doesn't know Redwall but loves Bloomburrow I absolutely implore you to go find some of the books and read them. I still read them to this day and hell I'm 44 years old lol, they bring me back to childhood wonderment. 🙂

redwall was my christmas show and my new years show when i was young, when i was 9 I watched a Christmas special then redwall then teh very first episode of futurama ever. all in the same night. Core memory.

I think it’s more likely referring to Ulamog and Kozilek recovering and returning from the blind eternities since it’s plural. The mage in blue could be many things and Jace seems like a very obvious red herring since we had Ral looking for Jace during this story, but if it is Ulamog and Kozilek returning then Jace being one of the few to know about Emrakul sealed in the moon could somehow be used by Emrakul to release her bringing the end of the world (potentially the entire multiverse given the omenpaths might allow spawn to spread much more quickly and effectively).

@@VearruConsidering Emrakul has the epithet the Promised End, this actually seems likely. Doesn’t mean I like it, but it seems more likely.
Bolas travels to Bloomburrow and we have to deal with a VERY confused elder dragon who has been transformed into a giant chicken.
@@Vearru Ulamog and Kozilek are dead. They met their end when Chandra burned them. So unless WotC is going to retcon it, which isn’t much of a stretch, they’re not coming back.
I'm so glad the comments informed you of Redwall. That was my favorite book series growing up and definitely why I grabbed the set.

My dreams of a Redwall-MTG deck have finally come, at last! Eulaliaaaaaaaa!

This is the very first set that I can remember (been playing since OG Ravnica) in which there are so many great designed Legendary Creatures that I honestly cannot choose which one I want to build as a new commander deck. It has really come down between Wildsear, the gruul Wolf that gives enchantments cascade... because Gruul Enchantress deck is something new and the Orzhov Bat legendary creature that reanimates 3cmc creatures. I think I may break-bad & start building Wildsear; cascade along with all of those enchantments that do things when you cast something from exile seems so synergistic.
I am absolutely obsessed with this set
Heh going into a new plane with little critters having anyone else turn into them as a way to balance out the plane is very much giving me Kingdom Hearts vibes
More so than a Winnie the Pooh story, I'd say its more like a Redwall story. As that was a fantasy series, based on animals who were warriors, druidic healers etc.
bloom burrow has my inner redwall fan very happy.

Fucking incredible lore video this is perfect for a before bed chill sesh. Would you ever do a lore video about Mirrodin? ( before the Phyrexian invasion?) or how about Thunder Junction?
Never knew Redwall... which is what most people saw this as. But even then this feels like it has more in common with Secret of Nimh than Winnie the Poo, at least to me.
I have a soft spot for This realm and I really love most of the cards

Bummed we didn't get Kiki as a card, or more skunks in the set.... Also wish we got a three color Jund commander, maybe focusing in Exile, could be a good Cascade-Exile based commander and a great way to tie in the Raccoons, Lizards, Badger and skunk!
Kiki could have been a great defender card with a toxic ability, maybe when she would use defender the attacking creature would get a -1/-1 counter or the creatures controller a poison or "toxic" counter
I'm not sure if i'm happy about magic finally having a good story after all this time, or even more happy that the Eldrazi are coming 👀🖖
I saw this set and immediately thought “oh it’s redwall”.
I loved your narrative and the story of Bloomburrow was intriguing. It is too bad that Zoraline the bat did .... nothing except causing problem with her sneeze.
I think this is like a part 1 for bloomburrow, when we return I hope we learn more about her!
@@OOMTG hope so. I may be biased because I like bats ( I found them very misunderstood creatures) and I like Zoraline's design (especially in the anime art version).
I thought that Wildsear (the Elemental Wolf) shown in one of the first promo artworks with the Mabel staring at him, was going to do more & actually have a card in the main set. Instead, (still listening) I haven't heard from him in the story & he was the back-up commander for the Gruul deck.
I love Zoraline as well. Aggressively costed & she is pretty much 3cmc matters deck.
As I said above in my post, these two characters were the ones I was torn about. I didn't know which commander deck I wanted to build... I ended up landing on Gruul Enchantress.

Because they actually control the seasons and since Maha controls the night it would upset Eluge who controls the tides. I’m just guessing
@@kevin4061 i think that is more or less correct. They all need to function in unison to keep some kind of order, so when one freaks out it causes a ripple effect
Or the omens paths. We have a dragon from what we assume is Atarka's brood.
So between Maha forcing her way in and the falcon dragon teleporting/shifting in, it could have weakened what ever spells protect, separated, or hid the Valley from the rest of the plane.
i know you're already getting a shit ton of suggestions and the work you put into these vids are probably overwhelming enough as it is, but for your next Explained video would you do The Phyrexians? it would be such a good followup to the eldrazi!!!

basically most planeswalkers lost their sparks, i think you probably can say something like 4/5 of the planeswalkers lose thri sparks, the new rule is that you only get one planeswalker card by set, to represent how rare they are now. but you still get a few planeswalkers around the multiverse
