You may be keto but you MUST be sure to not eat seed oils or vegetable oil. That means no fried foods, none of the oils in prepared foods or in dressing etc.
The mountain grass thing might have something to do with CO2 levels, CO2 is heavier than oxygen or nitrogen so should fall off at a greater rate than just merely air pressure does with altitude
Venn-Watson and her husband own a company that sells C15 supplements. They're pretty expensive, too. While that doesn't mean she's entirely wrong, this is known as a Conflict of Interest. It was not adequately revealed in the paper.
That's why they were quick to place a patent before releasing the full research. Can't say you just want to help, then do everything to place it out of reach as a supplement.
Perhaps the right thing to do then would be to patent the formula for the supplement but then permanently shelve it so no one else can benefit or profit from your work, then just share the info of how it works and how to live your life better on hundreds of podcasts at your own cost, hoping that the people the information will help the most will watch it and have the intelligence and patience to understand it? I don't necessarily disagree with your ethics or point of view, but what other way is there where you can help as many people as possible and prevent others from profiting from your work? Or should all people with a good idea hand it over for free? In England, we call people like that a mug. The cost of living is high. There's no way in hell I would miss out on the chance to make money if it increased my families standard of living or just made our lives a little bit easier. But yeah, conflict of interest all day long.
I give up. I will continue to avoid …processed “foods” excess sugar…seed oils…white flour, etc., and I will just eat whatever else I want lol 🙄🤪 … too much information. I’m so exhausted from trying to figure it all out. I’ll just pray more, and walk more 🧐
I agree with you. before the internet existed we didn't have much information to make a good decision, now we inundated with partial truths and conflicting information that we still can't make a good decision for our health. balance is the key and keeping away from certain foods.
Same here. I am fat. I have just been to an osteopath (a local celebrity who treats the local rugby team) and he told me that I also have a lot of muscle and that my bones are strong and this is partly because my body has to move my weight about (I am pretty active). So I am going to stop.
It really isn't that hard. Think ancestral. Think back to before food was grown in places in isn't meant to grow and shipped from all pockets of the earth. What did your ancestors eat? I'm from Hawaii and the Polynesians thrived on an island for over 2000 documented years(probably longer) with no food being shipped to them. They ate what grew on the island, whatever animals were available. On the contenintal USA, what did native amercians eat. I think knowing the answers to those questions will direct you better than any "science" or "expert." Today, everyone has something to sell to you, whether it's the medical industry, sugar, pharma, etc. I stopped listening to "science" and "experts" the moment I learned any outcome can be bought by industries.
Same here. I've seen so many videos about various forms of "healthy" nutrition for weight loss among other things. But since there's got to be a pinch of truth here and there, I choose what I believe I need. What I don't need anymore is more of these videos. My stomach can't handle more supplements.😄

Anything the Government say to eat i just do the opposite. I recommend reading “Health and Beauty Mastery” that book is a real eye opener about shocking stuff health industry is doing! I completely changed my habits
What dept or who in government is telling you what to eat? You are just spreading conspiracy tropes, that make no sense. No evidence for these anti-gov claims.
I went on the carnivore diet of only ruminent meat and dairy 1 year ago. 4 1/2 months in my Chiari Malformation type 1 was gone, type 2 diabetes was gone, Lyme Disease symptoms easing up, flattened discs in my spine almost completely normal, Syrinx's in my spinal cord getting smaller, psoriasis going away. I eat meat with 25% fat. I had been on opioids for 20 years and stopped taking them 6 months into the diet. I no longer use a wheelchair or a cane. Im still having issues with the Syrinx related occipital headaches and nerve pain throughout my body, but im better by far. This acid is in rumminent meat and dairy in larger amounts but also in spinach, eggplant, raw garlic, bell peppers, and peas in small amounts. Meat, meat fat, and butter do not cause heart issues and this was proven and posted in the New England Journal of Medicine
Rotating between carnivore and prolonged fasting seems to be reversing my MS at the moment. I hesitate to say anything but damn is it different after two months. Nothing's worked besides doing these two things.
I’m veggie keto and cleared my arthritis. It’s sad the food industry continues to try force feed us low fat junk….uk is inundated with disgusting fast food places. Cheap processed meat and breads
I'm 50 years of age and got a CAC score of zero this month :) 5+ Years carnivore now and I have never had a cholesterol test but I did lose all of these symptoms: obesity, prediabetes, loose teeth, bleeding gums, sensitive teeth cold sores, blocked sinuses, mouth breathing, left eye twitches (tetany) heartburn, calf cramps, yellow stool, blood in stool edema below the knees, painful feet when walking, sunburn is less shoulder, back and neck pain after waking, lower back pain and stiffness
Weston Price figured out ages ago that the key to healthy living is animal fats, and that healthy europeans cultures were based around cheese production and very specifically prepared bread. Back then they had no time for fancy recipes for fun, it was simply necessary to maintain health. He set out to prove that vegetables were the secret to health, but concluded almost the opposite.
Weston Price declared that there must be a Factor X in grass-fed dairy products which scientists had not yet identified, but which was the key to health and longevity. A few years ago, some scientists thought they had discovered it in vitamin K2. But it looks now as if this Factor X is more than one nutrient, and C15 fatty acid is the second one that has now popped up. I wonder if there are more?
There are probably many factors associated with the disappearance of depression as I've aged. And, in the past 2 years I've radically changed my diet. Mostly vegetables, mackerel, wild salmon, feta, lentils & br rice - running and dancing. I'm just very healthy and mentally resilient at 68 - and of course younger.
New research: brown rice is loaded with Lectins which are extremely detrimental to your gut health. That's why countries throughout Asia have only eaten white rice for 10's of thousands of years. The brown hull is loaded with Lectins that destroy your gut health.
In 1927 my great grandmother died at age 87. My mother was a little girl. Her nana was up and about, had no car, walked around her very hilly neighborhood ; right up until the month before she died, then got into bed for a month, stopped eating. Her time was up. Had nine children. Butter and cream were her staples.
And during that time and just prior to it, many women died in child birth. Average age of death in the late 1800s and early 1900s was about 50. My mother died of cancer 11 days pass her 35th birthday (1962). I am complete disable from poly neuropathy (retired 1990 - now). Whatever point your were trying to make didn't materialize. Human beings aren't identical.
The average of humans is not 50 years old in the 1800 or before that. if you remove child birth deaths, bacterial, or trauma (anything like a broken bone can kill us if it's not taken care of)
My grandparents and greatgrandparents all lived till their latex80s or into their 90s. They ate butter, cream, the fat on meat, etc, but they all kept active in their huge home garden, moving and doing things every day.
Professor Bill Schindler tells an interesting story about visiting Sardinia. He's a lecturer and researcher on food technology and historical prep techniques. Says he was in sardinia for a while, and goes to someone's home, presented with yet another plate asks "whats going on here? you eat more meat than i do, but the studies say your meat consumption is low!" Turns out they dont consider all their preserved meats sausages etc to be "meat" they only consider it "meat" when they have that big sunday gathering of friends and family and roast an animal. Don't trust polls and surveys.
Exactly. Sardinia is named as a Blue Zone and it is claimed that they are mostly plant based. I really like Bill Schindler's work and I listened to the podcast about his visit to Sardinia. He said they were constantly trying to feed him meat/sausages. Another carnivore doctor that lives in Italy say's beef is not so common, but pork is a religion; they love it. Another interesting data point is that Hong Kong has the longest life expectancy in the world; but they also eat the most meat per capita in the world and it's mostly pork. 🤔
@@patrickhenry1196 Check your sources. Hong Kong wrong. And Sardinia, curiously enough, has had a relatively isolated population for long enough that the locals have been inbreeding much more than the average on the planet. The effects tend to accumulate over time, and often produce noticeable outcomes. Not always bad. Turns out that they have a significant variant in a gene associated with negative cardiovascular health worldwide, but as luck would have it, their variant results in better cardio outcomes. Go figure. Complex question of how we best interface with our (shifting) environment has a few surprises along the way, which are often best addressed casting a wider net.

C15 is an essential fatty acid, just like omega 3 and omega 6. Eat butter, cream, sheep and goat cheese, salmon, mackerel, anchovies, sardines, herring, macadamia nuts, and sesame seeds.
@@lamedvav I avoid corn oil, soybean oil, canola oil, and similar vegetable oils, but omega 6 is an essential fatty acid. I eat sesame seeds because they are rich in cysteine, calcium, zinc, copper, magnesium, iron, potassium, vitamin B1, fiber, tryptophan, selenium, omega 9, and omega 6.
Ive read many papers on ferritin, iron, ceruloplasmin and copper, because i had so many infections following chemo (for lymphoma), all characterised by extremely high serum ferritin. This took weeks to settle each time, indicating chronic inflamnation (thanks to autoimmune disease) The most useful paper i came across was by a Professor Hall who indicated that iron accumulation can be prevented by making regular blood donations, resulting in much lower "all cause mortality" across the whole age range. He had no conflicting interests, just a humble academic
I just looked this up. It is too rare to be causing all of these problems in people as she says. This is just a way to sell another product. Eat more meat and fat while while removing sugar and wheat from your diet fixes more problems than any pill ever will.
Not unless it ends up cutting calorie intake in the process. Refined wheat and seed oil have been driving a massive amount of our over 500 cal increase in daily intake since 1970. That’s a pre-pandemic number. I wouldn’t doubt if it’sworse since . In fact, for the approximate half of the increase calories that come from fat, that seed oil rather than refined animal CAFO fattened animal fats drive it likely means that cardiovascular risk reduction associated plant-based polyunsaturated fats have likely made the cardiovascular risk associated with calorie driven metabolic syndrome less bad. If the same rise in fat calories was driven by atherogenic particle increased driving palmitic acid rich animal based fats I bet it would be a lot worse. But hats off to you you’re getting a good result in whatever ways your monitoring your health with a high animal fat and meat based approach. Sincere recommendation would be that you know your lipoprotein(a) status as well as your non-HDL and apoB status as well. Hopefully those are all below the 20th percentile. Remember Bob Harper?

@@DrTomMD Calories are not important because youre not going to overeat on meat + animal fat. Its the essientials the body needs. That we evolved on. Removing polyunsaturated fats are also very good for the body. They oxidize and create havoc.
@@DrTomMD Polyunsaturated fat that are sold in shops is a manmade product that is not natural in the nature world. Soybean oil, for example, was used as an industrial oil, not human consumption. Since the introduction of seed and vegetables in non-western countries, people in those countries have developed the same metabolic diseases that western countries have. It is no coincidence. You can track any counrty that has been introduced seed/vegetable oils and see the the rise of poor health, in an otherwise healthy population. Saturated fat is essentil for brain and cell development. Our brain consists of 70% cholestrol, as our cells. It is impossible to overeat pure animal foods. Once your body is nourished, it will signal you to stop eating. But the processed foods we eat today shuts off that full receptor because the body is never nourished on processed foods, thus, the obesity and diseases.

Calorie counting is important. I was eating once a day but still fat. Once I focused on 1000 calories once a day lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks. I'm gonna keep going until 155, currently 165 from 175. Once I reach my goal I'm.gonna increase by 1000 healthy calories. 1000 calories is a lot of food !

1) It's primarily the US that suffers from this. 2) She owns a company that sells C-15 supplements. 3) You will not be deficient if you have a healthy diet.
I don't agree with the title of this video. You make it seem as if sugar does not cause insulin resistance when it definitely DOES! That there is another cause for it does not mean that sugar and carbs are free from blame. If you keep guzzling down carbs, no matter how much C15 supplements you take, you're going to get insulin resistance and metabolic dysfunction.
That is the danger of nutritionism, thinking of nutrients in isolation. It's better to get one's nutrients from whole foods. Most natural sources of C15 are not only high-fat but also low-carb. That is what humans evolved to eat.
For those who deny it, all I can say is that I lost 60 lbs and reversed what was probably pre-diabetes by severely lowering my carb intake. And I did this at a time when I excluded dairy and was rarely eating fish. So, my C15 intake unlikely went up from what it was before.
According to Wikipedia: "Although the connection between iron and lipid peroxidation has been appreciated for years,[6] it was not until 2012 that Brent Stockwell and Scott J. Dixon coined the term ferroptosis and described several of its key features.[5] Pamela Maher and David Schubert discovered the process in 2001 and called it oxytosis. While they did not describe the involvement of iron at the time, oxytosis and ferroptosis are today thought to be the same cell death mechanism."
Grass feed dairy - What we have here in Australia - makes sense for why our dairy has high C15:0 ratios. Definitely high alpine grass with diverse biome have many aromatics in them to protect against higher UV levels.
Grass fed in Australia? Or is it Austria? Mostly feed lots in Australia, got to be. The grass is instant straw with that climate. And the milk has a peculiar taste to prove it. Now New Zealand is famous for it's dairy industry, so many opportunities for different cheeses there but no imagination.
Ah so it is being closer to the sun. I thought that was a crazy comment to make but hadnt considered that. Also sheep and highland animals generally dont grow grass ...in the low lands they plant gmo grasses and also grt rid of weeds. Which they dont do in the moutains its just wild .
Awesome, yet another high priced supplement of a natural nutrient that could just be in our diet if only our food supply were continually improved instead of constantly degraded.
@@ShawnNace I agree! Despite the lengthy interview little was said to tell us how best to get C15 into our diet because they just want us to buy their supplement. One that the FDA will never see.
I agree, we are being poisoned on so many levels, then Oh gosh, must be climate change or some stupid BS thing. The chemicals in water, chem trails, emfs and all the chemicals in foods and much more. There are many paths to health don't fall for gimicks. Weston Price foundation, or Off grid doug an stacey have many tips for a healthy lifestyle. Good luck, there is a war on humanity+ I am not religious, but it is happening.
Our grandson was born with multiple allergies and doctors were pushing soy milk formula. He still was not thriving. I did some research and we put him on raw goat's milk that I found at a Russian food market. That worked. He is now 10 years old and healthy. When I cook for him, I always include health fats from quality grass fed butter, good olive oil and meats. She also mentioned that fiber can be used by gut bacteria to make fatty acids; in particular beta hydroxybutyrate. That's true. One great way to get fiber is resistant starch from potatoes or rice that was cooked then refrigerated. Not only is the carb count reduced but the resistant starch goes to the gut to be fermented into butyrate that nourishes the cells that line the epithelial cells that line the intestinal walls. It helps heal leaky gut. That's a great win-win.
The title of the video is COMPLETELY WRONG, and can lead to misinterpretation that can affect some people with no knowledge in biochemistry or physiology. Of course High Dietary glucose, fructose or similar carbohydrates do contribute to insulin Resistance, Dr Watson NEVER said that sugar was not the cause of insulin resistance. Ferroptosis plays an important role in the development and progression of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and complications. but it doesn't mean that the harmful addictive food named sugar is not one of the causes of Insulin Resistance. Real Nutrition is very complex, for example Iron interacts with: Vit, C, Calcium Zinc, Copper, Manganese Phytates, Polyphenols, Folate, Some mineral excesses can cause other deficiencies, for example excess of Iron can cause Copper deficiency, with all implications such as: anemia, low body temperature, bone fractures, osteoporosis, low white blood cell count, irregular heartbeat, loss of melanin with all its implications, thyroid problems. Excess of Calcium can cause magnesium deficiency, Excess of Magnesium can cause Manganese deficiency an its implications.... and so on.
Do you know how much magnesium is too much? Do you feel there is a best magnesium to choose if you need to take it? I am aware of several varieties of magnesium. Good post, thank you😊
Much appreciated for providing this fascinating interview. Here's what was left out. Cholesterol in cell and organelle membranes is specifically there for reinforcement; i.e., for stability. Hence, one of the many dangers of taking a statin. One of the minor yet important roles of transmembrane proteins, like G-coupled proteins, is stability of the fragile bilayer phospholipid membrane. Sphingolipid ceramides also protect fragile cell and organelle membranes, although this is through a different mechanism. Ceramides act more like a shield from outside assaults.
After my doctor gave me steroids and antibiotics for my constant tonsil inflammation, I gained 20 lbs in 2 months. I had not changed my diet, in fact I only ate low carb whole foods. I changed my diet to keto whole foods, then I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. Nothing that I would eat should have caused me to become diabetic since I was eating keto, whole foods. Nothing made sense. Later on I did research on steroids and they actually can damage the pancreas. The pancreas creates insulin and creates digestive enzymes to be able to absorb the nutrients from food. I cannot trust doctors now. If I would have known the side effects that taking steroids and antibiotics would have caused, I would have endured the pain from my tonsils. This later on cause even more issues for me, which thank GOD are all gone. I made changes and these are the ones that literally saved my life. The only thing that has helped me tremendously has been taking digestive enzymes along with betaine hcl, which the pancreas is supposed to produce. I started taking them in march and I am finally the weight that I used to be in my 20"s. I have been doing keto for 7 years and intermittent fasting for 8 years. I am currently 36 and I have so much energy, no bloating and swelling anymore. There are specific food that I have personally noticed causes inflammation, which I try to avoid. I do eat low carb whole foods. I can now eat fruit and not gain weight! I hope you all have a success story like me, God Bless!!
@@ThomasSkokan-op2oc carnivore is great if your digestion is 90%effective. Animal protein is much more difficult to digest. Try taking Betaine HCL with each meal. Good luck!
My wife breast fed our child up to 40 months old, privately at home. There was and are no psychological problems with my child, and she cant even remember being breast fed years later. After hearing this discussion, I'm glad she got steady amounts of the C-15, although not as much as the mountain women in the region discussed I'm sure. My daughter always tested in the 97% percentile, I'm sure genes are probably the predominant factor, but I'm glad she was not limited as a small growing child.
Stated the BS in the 60s. Picked up in the 70s. I remember my parents wondering why people were suddenly depressed. They grew up during the depression and the war.
@@RussellGi That makes sense. Also makes sense that if people are generally sick (insulin resistance for example) the pharms can manufacture pills to manage the symptoms, for a high price. Consistently sick people make consistently great customers.
I was 321lbs, insulin resistant, iron overloaded and was diagnosed with NAFLD back in 2018. My Ferritin was 4580. My liver had become fibrotic. I have received tons of phlebotomies since 2018. I immediately went Keto/Low Carb/Whole Food. I lost 150lbs in 2 years and have maintained it ever since. My Ferritin is now under 100. Ironically, I do eat Pecorino Romano and Goat Cheese on my diet. I also eat more Salmon than I ever have before. Now - I’m never going to know if my Ferritin reduced due to diet or phlebotomies.
Sardinia also has pervasive nuclear radiation fall out from the all the war games that occur there, due to the Pope leasing the land for these activities. Cancer rates very high! I wouldn't eat nada from that island.
C15 fatty acids can be found in various food sources, but they are not as common as some of the more abundant fatty acids like C16 or C18. Some sources of C15 fatty acids include: 1. Dairy products: Some dairy products, such as milk and cheese, contain small amounts of C15 fatty acids. 2. Meat: Animal products like beef, pork, and poultry contain C15 fatty acids. 3. Fish: Some types of fish, such as mackerel and herring, contain C15 fatty acids. 4. Plant oils: Certain plant oils, such as coconut oil and palm oil, contain C15 fatty acids. It's important to note that C15 fatty acids are not as prevalent in the diet compared to other fatty acids, so they may not contribute significantly to overall fat intake. Bottom line eat more fat.

This lady is very pleasant and bless her for her work and communicating it to us. Bill Gates and his evil cronies would have us eating fake meat and killing cows for his profit. This woman is a shining light 🌟
She promote increase in dairy consumption. Other studies advise to avoid dairy consumption- due to its prostate , breasts and ovarie cancer causing effects. At the end of the day - we need consume different food groups in moderation- eats lots of fruit and veg and ensure we physically active.

"and to the Navy for caring about this world" -> the US Navy care about their trained combat and ordinance clearance dolphins... And I'm sure the US citizen taxpayer funded US Navy can afford the C15 supplements at the price she is offering them (they probably get a discount since they funded her research, but whoops!! its the US citizen taxpayer that funds the US Navy - so they should get a discount as well don't you think!)
Thank you Thomas for bringing this to us. I was raised on brown bread and margarine cause that was the advice my parents were given. They eneded up diabetic as did I in turn. Fortunately I've kept my blood sugar low using your low carb/fasting advice. I'm eating mackeral and fetta cheese for lunch so thanks to you mate, I was already ahead of the game on this one
I started taking the C15 supplement about 3 months ago. I also eat greek food often, which includes some goat cheese, beef and lamb. I grew up on whole fat dairy (in 1950's-1960's) and my mother hated margarine, so we grew up on butter. What I've noticed in last 3 months is that my mood is steady. I seldom feel any highs or lows in energy or mood, despite menopause and its myriad symptoms. I now feel very stress-free regardless of what is happening. I feel more at ease and many say I look 10 years younger than my real age - 72. I will keep taking it to see what else happens.
My mom is the same and managed to reverse her diabetes along with high BP high chilesterol ...she still has ckd but went from stage 5 to 4 so no dialisis. Amazing. Her eye sight is screwed tho.
My father will be 95 this Feb 2025. He gave up rollerblading at 90 and slalom downhill skiing also at 90 because he hit ice and sped up way too fast. He hikes between 5 to 10 miles nearly every day, he still rides bicycles but has confessed he is using his E bike more. His stress level is very low. he lives in Zurich Switzerland and he eats small meals,3 and some times 2 only each day. He has always kept his portions small. He has never smoked nor drinks alcohol, never drinks fruit juices no any kind of soda. I've never seen him drink coffee or tea, just water and when I was young he also drank milk. He eats cheese, after all he's in Switzerland, but not much meat because it's expensive, plain yogurt, an occasional chocolate, and salad veggies, not much root vegetables ,and not much oxalates. I believe his longevity comes from his active lifestyle, low stress, and no more than necessary diet. All of the women in my family as far as I can know have lived to over 90, but all of my ancestor males never made it to 70 with the exception of my maternal grand father 76, and my father still living at 94. He also drives like a 30 year old, and is very alert. So, I'm not so sure genetics are the main reason he's still with us, instead I believe it's his lifestyle and environment.
Thank you for this video! I am prediabetic with high risk for developing type 2 due to family history and two serious sleep disorders. I intend to give diet a try and see if it helps. This info has been really helpful. I also have three grandchildren and will share this with my daughters. Thankfully we live rather rural and can get fresh milk and grass fed meat from a local butcher and farmers. It’s wonderful! I highly suggest getting a freezer and find a good butcher shop and hit the farmers markets on the weekends. The quality is so much better and you won’t get the nutrients cooked out or chemicals/additives put in to your food. ❤

I’m just happy to know this! Thank you to everyone involved in bringing us this information! It’s ridiculous that so many are responding with so much negativity. If you feel its BS or a “commercial” then just ignore the information, and enjoy your ill health. The rest of us can be glad there is a solution to the rampant health problems we see (and suffer from) in this country.
This is good to hear. I cut out all seed oils and started using butter in my cooking. I add it to my vegetables, makes them a lot more palatable. Great to hear butter is one of the best sources of C15
"Butter" and Olive Oil is better than Margarine for a Sciencentific and health reason being Margarine may spread more easily but butter doesn't contain Soy Oil or Canola Oil, both GMO GLYSULPHATE "ROUND-UP" Resistant crops.
I'm 66 and always loved my butter and whole milk! I started "low carb" in Feb '24 to curb pre T2, fasting insulin at 9.6. One of my biggest issues is that I could get 100g of carbs a day just from my whole milk. Then on top of that the opinion leaders in this space are almost screaming that dairy is evil and only for babies! Well, WTF? So i have switched to heavy cream, watered-down with added whey protein. I haven't run the macros but should be a better mix of milk fat and protein. Don’t have a weight or HT issues but did drop 50lbs of belly fat pretty quickly. So far so good!
How much were you drinking? The adult recommended amount is 2 cups a day. 24 carbs. Even the pregnant dose would keep you at 48. If you have the Ansestry of a milk drinker you will do well with dairy. But not over 8 cups a day. Do not pay attention to vegan BS.
Know your doctor? Know your dairy farmer! I feel so happy to be a goat dairy farmer. And yeah, all unpasteurized. I will be sharing this with my clients, here in Baja Sur, Mexico. Viva la vida loco!
C15:0 is not essentiell, cause the liver makes C15:0 and C17:0 from Propionat.... Propionat is made by gut microbiom from soluble fiber like inulin... " In contrast, the levels of C15 fatty acid increased by 17 percent after consuming inulin and by 13 percent after consuming propionate. At the same time, blood levels of C17 fatty acids increased by an average of 11 and 13 percent, respectively." "Taken together, our results provide new insight into the metabolic mechanisms associated with fiber consumption. We were able to show for the first time that humans are also able to produce C15 and C17 fatty acids from the precursor propionate. In addition, the more propionate gets into the liver cells, the more the fatty acid synthesis shifts towards the two fatty acids" "The microbial breakdown of soluble fiber in the intestine is crucial for the amount of propionate available in the liver,” the scientist continued. “Various studies indicate that propionate improves the insulin sensitivity of the body’s cells. There is therefore much to suggest that there is a causal, biological connection between increased intake of soluble fiber, increased blood levels of C15 and C17 fatty acids and a reduced risk of type 2 diabetes" www.diabetologie-online.de/a/ernaehrung-und-diabetes-risiko-fettsaeuren-im-blut-geben-auskunft-ueber-hoehe-des-ballaststoffverzehrs-1821689

I also thought about Price. He made the primary association to fat-soluble vitamins. But he also spoke of that golden butter from spring grasses. He pointed to fat-soluble vitamins because he could test for them. That would've likely been a proxy measure for the concentration of C15, CLA, etc.
Perhaps it's not the actual kind of grass being consumed at the mountainous altitude but rather the fact that the animals living in that zone are producing more fat to compensate for the colder local climate. Maybe just being in the mountains is the reason for these effects on the cheeses.

Fascinating information! I've always said if I could live on just dairy and eggs, I'd be in heaven. Unfortunately, you know the cheese you can buy in a regular grocery store is crap.
This supplement did nothing for me in my 3 month trial. But then again I drink full fat goat's milk and eat full fat sheep's milk yogurt and I did not initially know how small of an amount of C15 compared to easily available foods was contained in the capsules. Skim milk, oat milk, fat free products. I never bought into them. We should have been fighting sugar, and not with artificial sweeteners, with moderation.
I raised my babies in LA. My best friend was SUPER RICH (they own a popular brand) & told me to stop giving my baby real milk & instead give them soy🤦♀️ I thought she knew more than me🤦♀️ because they are so rich & powerful. My daughter ended up falling off the sofa & breaking a bone (freak accident) & she almost died. Fastward 17 years later….My wealthy friend has SUPER ABNORMAL SHORT kids ( parents aren’t short).
My kids grew up on soy, rice and almond milk. No butter, but they ate cheese. My adult children are taller than average, never broke any bones, very healthy. In fact my daughter who is vegan, is super healthy 🎉
Do what you want but I would stay away from soy, rice, almond and oat milks! Soy can be GMO and mimics estrogen, rice is a starch that turns to glucose in the body, almonds are rich in oxalates and oats are grains (and starchy) which are highly inflammatory!

One thing to remember, which the interview passes over, is that the healthy dolphins were eating wild fish they caught themselves in the open ocean. The unhealthy Navy dolphins were in ocean enclosures and were being fed over multiple generations what the government docs decided was a proper diet of selected wild and farmed fish and supplements made from non wild, non ocean products.
Great interview! So glad to know the daily pecorino cheese, sheep milk yogurt, and raw kefir I’m eating is probably good for my cellular health!! As Usual Sardines for $1 per day continue to be the best thing for a DOLLAR to eat they also contain her Magic C15.... Yes, sardines contain C15:0, also known as pentadecanoic acid, which is a saturated fat found in fish, plants, and other foods. C15:0 is considered an essential fatty acid, and studies have shown that it may have health benefits such as lowering the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes, reducing inflammation, and lowering cholesterol and glucose levels.
Comment on the Sardinian diet and high C15 levels in their cheeses.....it's probably not just down to higher altitude grasses, but the mixed forage from alpine pastures: grasses, herbs, wildflowers, and more. Similar for Swiss dairy.
I'm sure their longevity also comes from breathing far less contaminated air throughout their lives and also their laidback outlook on life. They have far fewer stresses than most.
@@dikshaedythe6042 It's all of these things and of course very likely a lifestyle of regular exercise as well. The same is true of the famous Okinawa program which cites a) community b) regular exercise c) careful portioning d) whole foods e) of course, genetics. That "the Okinawa Diet Program" was basically marketed as the main component of Okinawan longevity is a bit misleading. However, it's easy to see how a diet of mainly sweet potatoes, greens, tofu, fish, small amounts of pork, and very little if no junk food, would be a big contributor. (FYI, the study is mostly about what they ate during WWII famine which is why there's very little rice, and the main starch was the sweet potatoes. The purple ones.)
I guess you haven't heard that Sardinia has been leased out to the PTB (via the "Pope") to enact war games and to pollute the island with radioactivity. Cancer rates are off the charts......
Declaration of the amount of C15 in a product is a great idea but there would have to be nuance in the law to take into consideration the difference between Summer and Winter. In the UK, no commercial cows are left out in pasture in the Winter. All are shut indoors and when I asked an organic farmer why this was, because my mother never shut her cow in the barn during the winter, I was told that it was to save money, because the cows would have to be fed so much more commercial feed in order to counteract the cold outdoors. So, the amount of C15 in milk products must be much higher in the Summer than in the Winter.
I love her enthusiasm and extensive research, just as in the last interview she did with Thomas. That said, I still cannot afford the cost of these supplements and given my already 99% "Mediterranean diet" lifestyle, I don't see a need for them personally. Until there's an easy way to get C-15 levels checked, I'll continue to eat organic, full-fat dairy and occasionally splurge on goat cheese from Italy or France, etc. And I will continue to get lots of diverse fiber in my diet, because she says that our gut bacteria (assuming we have a healthy microbiome), can convert some fats into C-15. I strongly believe that most people do not eat nearly enough fiber, which contributes to so many issues including this so-called deficiency in C-15.
there is no Mediterranean diet its made up. it's a dietary pattern of one group of people, and excluded other diets that also were good for people. It's heavily influenced by vegans, and no where anywhere in Greece was red meat not part of their diets, it's a very small population of people who lived and worked in olive grove communities. we are not those people. Those people had longevity inbreeding and didn't eat junk food and had fresh seafood.
n=1, fiber is the cause of the majority of my issues. Sometimes I just think people eat so much bad stuff that they benefit from fiber since the body hates fiber and want to expell it along with everything else. So it indirectly have an detoxing effect. I don't believe fiber is good or necessary.
C15.0 (Pentadecanoic Acid an essential fatty acid) is found in meat, especially in BUTTER. Also in lamb, veal and game, sausages and luncheon meats, beef Top 20 list: Whipped Butter (w salt); Sunflower Oil; Butter; Raw Fresh Lamb; Cooked Fresh Lamb; Cooked Fresh Lamb Seam Fat (all the lamb ones imported from Australia); Raw Veal; Cooked Fresh Lamb; Raw Seam Fat (Grass Fed Beef Australian); Heavy Whipping Cream; Cream Cheese; Raw Fresh Lamb; Cheddar (listed twice for some reason); Raw Grass-Fed Beef; American Cheese (also Cheese another item listed twice); Bearded Seal Oil (Alaska); Swiss cheese; Raw Fresh Lamb Seam Fat and American Cheese. These are all listed based upon c15.0 per 100g. Whipped Butter has 801 mg per 100g. The lamb starts at 470mg per 100g. So, it looks like most of the audience here would think of various cheeses, butter, and various meats like lamb and beef. There are supplements labelled "Pantothenic Acid" which have the C15.0 Pentadecanoic Acid.
@@tomg5405 These supplements usually say Pantothenic Acid, but what they seem to be is Calcium Pantothenate. So, there is a quantity of calcium involved in this. One can look up literature and sites online by searching on C15.0 or "Pentadecanoic Acid" the name for the C15.0
research into this shows that butter actually has more, greater concentration, of C 15 than the the supplement form of C 15. Eat more healthy butter. I think we have to consider seed oil consumption as well. I come from a point where 6 years ago. I weight 200 lbs more, I had severe diabetes. I was on over 300 unit of insulin per day and still had A1C's in the 14's. I had bad knees, but they wouldn't do surgery because of diabetic leg ulcers that would no heat. I was going blind. I had a partially torn rotator cuff in my shoulder. I wen't keto at first but still ate seed oils, because I thought is was only the carbs. I lost weight, and diabetes got better. I was not on insulin any more, but I go macular edema/degeneration. Then I went carnivore for a while, and cut out the seed oils. My eyes have stopped getting worse, I lost more weight. I have lost over 200lbs. My knees and shoulder have healed, no more diabetes (I am on no meds for that anymore and have a normal A1C) I still have highly resistant hypertension. I was on 8 bp meds. Last October my systolic cranked up to 310, and I had a stroke. I recovered fully from the stroke, even though I wouldn't take there statins. I have had CTA Scans, Heart Test, ultrasounds. I have no blockages and my CAC score was 0. Today I have fully recovered from the stroke and I am back to pretty much normal. I am working with a great cardiologist. I have ALWAYS had high BP, even as a teenager. I looks like I may have pulmonary hypertension. It is rare condition, but my EKG will show an inverted ST Wave and peaked P wave when my BP get over 200, which is a primary indicator. I see my cardiologist again Monday. However the solution for Pulmonary Hypertension is simple, although there is no really good test for it. I will have to take a medication 3 times a day to increase blood flow in my lungs.

Let me get this straight. Allegedly, we have discovered a new essential fatty acid that largely cannot be found in food. Hmmmmm..... this sounds too good to be true. Everyone, I would be highly skeptical of this...
It’s lower in processed food, which is what most of us eat. It’s prevalent in food raised the way it was up until the last 80-100 years. All nutrient content of food has gone down significantly since the industrialization of the food system.

A study mentioned that mean C15:0 content in human milk was 0.38%, while formula milks contained only 0.004% I believe that is where the trouble started. Dr Venn Watson sell the the product and I will support her wholeheartedly
Why is her selling it a problem? I mean, did you sell it and then release this study to make a buck? Or did she see a problem and try to fix it and make money? If it is the latter, how is that bad?
I would ask why C15 is disappearing from nature. Dolphins swim in warm waters and are used to it. Is it pollution? No one is talking about the spraying on our fields which affects everything and everyone.
Everybody wants to blame global warming for everything. Global warming is more controlled in cycles by nature, the planet, solar system cycles, galactic cycles. Mankind pollutes for sure , but really has minimal effect on global warming. The Green Weenies are merely selling Carbon credits for profit, and the scientists have jumped on board whether they believe it or not becuase it is a great source of both private and governmnet grants which keeps them in paychecks for years. These guys only live on grants.

I watched the first 10 minutes WHAT'S C15??? Very unprofessional. She explains the other stuff, why is she failing to tell what's C15? Why doesn't the interviewer ask her to define it? I'm a PhD in chemistry and I'm still not sure what the hell she is talking about, because fatty acids contain even numbers of carbon atoms (such as 14, 16, 18 etc) but not odd numbers.
@@Pteromandias Our education is always incomplete, I have about 100 research papers published in addition to being a PhD in chemistry. I am well aware that we discover new things every day. But this program speaking for 10 minutes about C15, without actually defining what the hell they mean by C15, that's inexcusable. Both the doctor talking about C15 without defining it, and the interviewer allowing this to happen without asking for clarification, come across as sloppy, unprofessional. Indeed, selling some stuff to the potential buyer, without actually caring to educate the audience. It's an advertisement, not a scientific lecture.
A really fascinating interview. From both of you. It’s not often that scientific research has such a clear and practical application. The dolphin research has been a really great and beneficial control, that is more able to seperate other dietary factors, such as trans-fats, etc, from the picture of C-15 deficiency. A possible thought on C-15 concentration in high altitude grass is that, as it tends to grow slower (due to cooler weather), there would more likely be a higher relative concentration of C-15 compared to grass grown at lower altitudes. As to feeding stock on corn…so bizarre
I drink a mixture of heavy whipping cream with coconut milk to take with my medication! Only use butter to fry, and air fryer for everything but eggs. Herring is my favorite fish! Portillo’s double cheeseburger with bacon 🥓 gives me my fat for the day! I had a 24 ounce ribeye at the Texas Roadhouse, and the Wild West Shrimp at the Longhorn restaurant! And, I just keep on shrinking! Black coffee and unsweetened tea, and water for liquid. I wouldn’t dream of buying additives for my lifestyle. It’s been working for me since last August 8th. I’ve saved so much money, not buying food and drinks that contain, or turns into sugar! No ambulance service saves even more! But do what makes you happy, but think of your family.
Fatty15 is not expensive when you consider it is a 3 month supply. If you choose to eat a $1 can of sardines per day, not knowing its c15 content, that equates to $30/month...about the same as Fatty15. I prefer to spend my money on a guaranteed product. So what if she's making money? So is the sardine canner!
Too expensive? Here's a newly-founded company with a small team (a dozen people including advisors, according to their website) that has developed and brought a supplement to market. More and more research (their own studies as well as from independent researcher teams across the globe) continue to come out showing the health benefits of C15. It's understandable they're unable to sell a 3 month supply for $19.99. As a dairy scientist I worked for decades in the dairy industry and bringing out a new product is never cheap, even for the MNCs. Just something to mull over while drinking your $6 caramel frappuccino.
So many commenters here want to call anything a scam where someone makes money. But what are they expecting? Should she work for free? I'll save my populist outrage for corrupt big biz, not small entrepreneurs dedicating their lives to scientific research and health improvement.
A balanced and varied whole (not processed) diet will keep you healthy unless you have deficiencies due to illness/circumstances beyond your control. Supplements (of ANY type) should always be the last resort. I highly recommend you do not start any new supplement w/o bloodwork first to determine if you are actually deficient!! (As mentioned - how to test - at the very end of the video.)

Ooh, my half brother has hemochromatosis. He was anemic as a baby but no one put 2+2 together until his liver enzymes were very elevated in his 50s and the damage was done. He's now a Type 2 diabetic. I'm wondering if supplementation would help him? Wow, yeah, not much research trying to find a cure for hemochromatosis either. 🤔
Thank you for posting this breakthrough. When considering some of the information presented, it’s possible we are back to low C15 in our diet being related to glyphosate and antibiotic overuse. The bacteria that ferments inulin in our gut is very sensitive to these chemicals.

12:46 Was listening in the background. Just noticed the Liquid Death. It's a processed beverage company sponsoring the show. Just what we don’t need, another company exporting water they probably don’t own that should be fed to cows via plants on the land, so they can clean it and pee it back onto the plants. They say, "Murder your thirst. Death to plastic." and then they use a can, but they don't mention that the water, whatever it's source, or which native people it's stolen from, is then being peed into city drains that make the water dead through more chemical processing and we still have to process the can waste.
Weston Price the OG of nutrition ^^
Weston Price declared that there must be a Factor X in grass-fed dairy products which scientists had not yet identified, but which was the key to health and longevity.

Professor Bill Schindler tells an interesting story about visiting Sardinia.

Says he was in sardinia for a while, and goes to someone's home, presented with yet another plate asks "whats going on here? you eat more meat than i do, but the studies say your meat consumption is low!"
Turns out they dont consider all their preserved meats sausages etc to be "meat" they only consider it "meat" when they have that big sunday gathering of friends and family and roast an animal.

And Sardinia, curiously enough, has had a relatively isolated population for long enough that the locals have been inbreeding much more than the average on the planet.
You are off the subject way off.listen just learn to listen.yes keep your pie hole shut and….listen.

If you're on Medium, Brent Stockwell has written some articles around feroptosis there. Guess it's time for me to do a bit of re-reading...

C15 fatty acids can be found in various food sources, but they are not as common as some of the more abundant fatty acids like C16 or C18. Some sources of C15 fatty acids include:

Whatever you do, please do not miss out on nutrients, otherwise you will land in a hospital.

At the same time, blood levels of C17 fatty acids increased by an average of 11 and 13 percent, respectively."
"Taken together, our results provide new insight into the metabolic mechanisms associated with fiber consumption. We were able to show for the first time that humans are also able to produce C15 and C17 fatty acids from the precursor propionate. In addition, the more propionate gets into the liver cells, the more the fatty acid synthesis shifts towards the two fatty acids"
"The microbial breakdown of soluble fiber in the intestine is crucial for the amount of propionate available in the liver,” the scientist continued. “Various studies indicate that propionate improves the insulin sensitivity of the body’s cells. There is therefore much to suggest that there is a causal, biological connection between increased intake of soluble fiber, increased blood levels of C15 and C17 fatty acids and a reduced risk of type 2 diabetes"

Weston Price made that observation about fast growing srping grasses in the Alps about 80 years ago
I also thought about Price. He made the primary association to fat-soluble vitamins. But he also spoke of that golden butter from spring grasses. He pointed to fat-soluble vitamins because he could test for them. That would've likely been a proxy measure for the concentration of C15, CLA, etc.
If any research, especially modern research, contradicts Weston Price, threw it in the trash can.
Perhaps it's not the actual kind of grass being consumed at the mountainous altitude but rather the fact that the animals living in that zone are producing more fat to compensate for the colder local climate. Maybe just being in the mountains is the reason for these effects on the cheeses.
Yes a lot of dolphins are found feeding on those mountainsides to boost their c15
Makes a lot of sense
There's definitely something about living at altitude - mountain dwellers generally don't get fat and have good longevity.

This supplement did nothing for me in my 3 month trial.

It's about the community of the Sardinians. They have multigenerational families and are community and socially oriented.
I am not saying that C15 deficiency isn’t valid, but keep in mind they are selling something.
Follow the money.

No one told you to buy her supplement. And fiber isn’t necessary for a healthy gut either. What exactly are you eating on a daily basis anyway?
there is no Mediterranean diet its made up. it's a dietary pattern of one group of people, and excluded other diets that also were good for people. It's heavily influenced by vegans, and no where anywhere in Greece was red meat not part of their diets, it's a very small population of people who lived and worked in olive grove communities. we are not those people. Those people had longevity inbreeding and didn't eat junk food and had fresh seafood.
Many specialists say that needing fibre is a myth…..I’m so confused….
n=1, fiber is the cause of the majority of my issues. Sometimes I just think people eat so much bad stuff that they benefit from fiber since the body hates fiber and want to expell it along with everything else. So it indirectly have an detoxing effect. I don't believe fiber is good or necessary.
@treali my crohns and arthritis and other inflammatory diseases only finally ended when all plant foods were eliminated from my diet.
C15.0 (Pentadecanoic Acid an essential fatty acid) is found in meat, especially in BUTTER. Also in lamb, veal and game, sausages and luncheon meats, beef
Top 20 list: Whipped Butter (w salt); Sunflower Oil; Butter; Raw Fresh Lamb; Cooked Fresh Lamb; Cooked Fresh Lamb Seam Fat (all the lamb ones imported from Australia); Raw Veal; Cooked Fresh Lamb; Raw Seam Fat (Grass Fed Beef Australian); Heavy Whipping Cream; Cream Cheese; Raw Fresh Lamb; Cheddar (listed twice for some reason); Raw Grass-Fed Beef; American Cheese (also Cheese another item listed twice); Bearded Seal Oil (Alaska); Swiss cheese; Raw Fresh Lamb Seam Fat and American Cheese.
These are all listed based upon c15.0 per 100g. Whipped Butter has 801 mg per 100g. The lamb starts at 470mg per 100g.

Whole food.
Lots of grass fed dairy like full fat yogurt, sour cream, full fat cottage cheese, cheese.
If it works for the Sardinians it’ll work for us.
I saw one of these infomercials and it pointed me in the right direction for a health problem i had. Vitamins helped quite a bit.
Maybe we have been scarfing down seed oils and low fat dairy for decades?
Ding ding ding ding 🛎️ YOU WIN!!! The prize? A fatty piece of meat 🥩 😂 or some butter and cheese if you prefer…
No plants GAPS diet

Thank you for posting this breakthrough.
When considering some of the information presented, it’s possible we are back to low C15 in our diet being related to glyphosate and antibiotic overuse. The bacteria that ferments inulin in our gut is very sensitive to these chemicals.
Wow! That's absolutely outstanding information!! Thanks a lot for that!!!
Stop eating seed oils and start eating saturated fat!
False only certain seed oils are bad saturated fats are related to many diseases you just have to look at the reliable research
Both C15 and stearic acid are saturated fats that support metabolic health, mitochondrial functioning, anti-inflammation, etc.
exactly
the animal fat you eat can be of high or low quality.
Fat from pasture-raised, hormone-free animals would be best. But even fat from factor-farmed animals would be better than seed oils.
I understand that some of yoYou might think this video is solely focused on promoting business. However, it's important not to be distracted by that and to concentrate on the science to determine if it can truly keep us healthy. This company's motive to make money is no different from that of pharmaceutical companies or any other business. Indeed, there are individuals who are not driven by profit but rather wish to aid humanity by disseminating information that could be beneficial.
so provide it cheaper
12:46 Was listening in the background. Just noticed the Liquid Death. It's a processed beverage company sponsoring the show. Just what we don’t need, another company exporting water they probably don’t own that should be fed to cows via plants on the land, so they can clean it and pee it back onto the plants. They say, "Murder your thirst. Death to plastic." and then they use a can, but they don't mention that the water, whatever it's source, or which native people it's stolen from, is then being peed into city drains that make the water dead through more chemical processing and we still have to process the can waste. Please just eat beef from a local farm and say no to all these companies selling plant-based factory slop like tea, coffee, cigarettes, alcohol, pasta, cereal etc. Feed the plants to the animals by leaving it on the land.
