Dear Joella, I understand you perfectly. Our family also lost a 4 year old boy and he is the inspiration for me to publish a short book which I wrote on the first year anniversary from when we lost him. Hopefully I will manage to publish it through this video.

I am the creator and original artist of the grey blue-nosed bear "Tatty Teddy" which I know sells in worldwide and certainly in Australia. I no longer work for that company and have been incredibly busy creating and drawing for companies and greeting card firms since 2004. You know what, sometimes people propser not just because they have excellent products for consumers, but because their hearts are pure and in the right place. Thank you for allowing everyone the opportunity to thrive and allow their dreams to be realized. I've asked a friend of mine advise on how to publish a book and they wanted me to pay them for the advice. Not that anything is wrong with that, I'm just glad someone on RUclips thought, "sure, come along, there's a seat at this table, let me pull up the chair for ya." I was trying to publish my story for so many years. It didn't happen until I found very small publisher who took a chance on me. Now I've got fourth book coming out soon. But don't expect to make a lot of money at first and never give up your dream!! 💕

Sarah I just love this video. I have always been so interested in writing a book for children, even when I was a kid I wanted to do it! Now I’m actually in my 50s and people are always going on how great my illustrations are, and I’ve literally never had the guts to try and make it happen. This is seriously like the most helpful video I’ve ever seen in my life, it’s very simple very straightforward you even walk us through the entire thing. The only question I have though, how do you get in the money, like where does it go, obviously it goes to you. But what I mean is will the money go to your card if you have a checking account or anything or will direct money be sent to you in the mail or something?? 🥺
You choose if you want it to go to your bank account, PayPal account or to get a cheque in the mail. You fill in a tax form, add your preferred payment details and you get paid automatically each time you reach $100.

This is my first children's book and I have lot of questions. I have a Mac and I already created the book with pictures and words on each page but do not know how to exactly get it on Amazon. How does the manuscript part work? I man, do I have o write the book out without the graphics? And I also created the cover of the book, but it says something is wrong, why? It doesn't explain what I should do.

its been about a year since you published that book.. would you mind revealing how many sales you had through Amazon?
Amazon don't sell for you. You need to put effort into your own marketing. I dont really promote my books, but I still get a deposit from Amazon every month; however I do promote my overall business so when my clients go to my website etc they come across them. Pretty much all my sales would come from Amazons algorithm simply saying "people who bought this book also bought this book....". There really isn't such thing as average earnings. If you promote hard, you sell more. If you don't, you sell less. When I launch a new book I'll share it on my social media amd email list but otherwise its organic sales really.
At best I've done about $1k in a month, usually its more like $350 a month. But if I marketed them it would certainly be more.

If you want to buy copies of your own book you have to pay KDP/Amazon for the printing and shipping.
If you WANT to get formatters, illustrators, editors etc you can if you want to. But you don't have to.
