    2:30 you can flip the canvas as you wanted easier on the other flip buttom below the canvas preview and right next the camera button on the layer window.
    5:35 on the special pen where you found the liquify tool, you could also find the lasso fill+lasso eraser too to help during the coloring phase.
    5:55 gradient tool options are in filter>draw, but I'm afraid it's probably quite different from what other drawing programs use.
    6:40 if you put all your layers inside a folder, you can click to merge everything at once.
    7:05 pen pressure can be activated and configured on the Settings; however to work properly if you also configure the brushes to do so on Dynamic>Pressure. In the same place you can also manage to make the brushes mimic a pen pressure effect a little on "Speed" if your device do not enable the pen pressure on.
    Something you didn't mention so I'm not sure if you saw, it's that theres a stabilizer option that can help too (it's the bottom with a finger icon right next to the ruler icon at the top of the screen); that's probably one of the reasons besides practice that people can draw with the finger on a phone
    Now for color blending/mixing there's...no exactly a right way on the app, most of the artist improvise with the smudge tool, blur tool, messing with opacity or configuring your brush to do this effect (or you can import someone elses brush with this configuration already if the whole brushe settings it's overwhelming; to import/export brushes just click the "..." At the top of the brushes window)
    Not really hating or judging you or anything for not doing so, but i'm kinda impressed by the amount of people who doesn't click and explore all the available buttons/options on a new app as soon as they install it-
    Anyway, you did great for your first time! 🫶

    • @NovaShards_Scarlett
      @NovaShards_Scarlett 10 месяцев назад +85

      Another thing to add to OP's comment: In the settings (which you can find on the button before exiting your drawing) you can turn on the reference window! You can put in an image or have a full size mini-view of your drawing, and can even color pick and zoom in and stuff on it. Dragging a finger around on the drawing-view also moves where you're looking at on the screen too which is cool

    • @malice_th
      @malice_th 10 месяцев назад +28

      @@NovaShards_Scarlett yeah, but a faster way to enable it is on the upper buttons (where you find the rulers, stabilizer, materials, etc), the first button there's options to enable the reference window, grids, a manga template and if you wish to have a smooth or pixelated work (there's also the terrible AI generator option idea there that fortunately doesn't work anymore and will be removed on next update for obvious reasons-)

    • @kaitsukama
      @kaitsukama 10 месяцев назад +5

      Thank you so much for all the tips! I'm thinking of switching back to Ibis Paint from Procreate because of the user community free brushes and the free assets. But for the lasso, I'm so used to the free hand one from Procreate. In Ibis, I only find this one option where the point is fixed and we can only do a rough shape? Is there any way to do a free hand lasso selection or is that the only way possible? 🥹 I'm on the fence only because of this

    • @malice_th
      @malice_th 10 месяцев назад +3

      @@kaitsukama I needed to search what it's this freehand thing since I'm not a procreate user so I'm not sure if I got it right;
      (Tbh the name "free hand selection" for this function to me it's kinda controversial if I got it right but ok-)
      On the normal lasso tool you can select shapes roughly and "freely", but for some reason doesn't support the app stabilization so the selection ends shaky most of the time (and kinda pixelated too)
      If you use lasso fill+lasso eraser on the Selection Layer you will have stabilization and a better control and view of the shapes
      But from what I saw, what is closer of the procreate function u're asking is: use "Polyline" or "Bezier Curve" on the Selection Layer with "fill" setting on, you can find those options on the Stabilizer Window.
      Another alternative for selecting specific shapes/things it's also using "select opacity" and then just use the normal lasso tool on exclusion mode to remove extra selections of the layer if needed; you find the Select Opacity on "..." in layer window or on the top buttons of the canvas.
      You can also use the bucket on Selection Layer or use the selection wand to select specific shapes, just adjust the settings on both to "screen" or "specific layer" and adjust the bars to select exactly what you want from the canvas; if needed you can use the Expand/Retract option on the top button where you found the select opacity option to help adjusting the selection too
      Hope it helps!

      To the people asking how we do it, just draw what you want on paper, then put your drawing on Ibis and fix anything that looks weird with ✨le liquifier tool✨
      Then, trace the sketch. Done! I don't know if it works for others, but it does for me, so give it a try! 💕

    The best part about ibis for me is that I can simply sketch and lineart how I like to traditionally, take a photo of it and as soon as I upload it to ibis it immediately asked to convert my lineart to on a layer so it can be usable. ^^

    Loved the video! I've been using ibis paint on my phone for a few years now haha
    Here are a few tips that I think you might find a bit useful:
    -There's actually a canvas flip tool on the left side of where the layers are! (You can flip it horizontally and vertically)
    -When you use the bucket tool I would recommend playing around wuth its settings, by pressing on the cog symbol! You can fix the gap recognition issue by making the strength greater
    -You can also import custom brushes! You can select this option by clicking on the pen thingy and clicking on the 3 dots on the top right hand corner
    Hope these help in the future ❤

    5:33 You can actually do this more easily with a special pen. press the 'special' key, then click in the box next to it and select 'lasso fill'. Your job will become easier 💖

    pro tip: when you wanna merge all of your art work. you can easily do it by going into the layer menu, clicking "add special layer" (it's the layer symbol w/ the plus sign) and then you wanna click "add layer from canvas" and what that does is make a quick separate layer with all of the VISIBLE layers of your art work merged into one layer. also this way, you don't have to sacrifice and merge all of your artwork together to get the same affect. you can also do this with folders.

    my friend is one of the people who can draw really good with her finger... and it's one of the small sized phones as well. i have watched her do it and i guess the trick is a steady hand and slim fingers? also maybe settings in the art program? she makes it look SO easy though, it's crazy 😵‍💫

    I had been use ibis paint at high school at around 8th grade. Before I got an Ipad that’s after graduation, I’ve been doing hand drawing on a used phone as well used tablet. It take me back memories of how impossible to draw with a hand.

    Some more interesting features is that you can go into the brush settings and give them different blending modes! So you can have multiply, invert, add, etc, and even turn the brush into an ERASER- and you can also even modify the eraser brushes too (which feels a little redundant, but I noticed the opacity layering between the pens and the erasers work differently for some reason-)
    The filter "unsharp mask" under "blur" is actually a sharpening/unblur effect!! It works really well on lineart that gets weirdly fuzzy or the quality dropping when you use the wrong settings on the transform tool or when you liquify something too hard- it resharpens everything and is just super helpful!
    Their site and channel also have a ton of tricks and tips and tutorials on how to use the app as well which I think you'd definitely find useful. There's so much on there and it really helps me out. Also! On their site they have community made custom brushes you can import directly into the app if you wanna look into those too!

Hope this helps if you get what im trying to sayhere lol. Anymay i love your art and i wish i can get as good as you with digital art ❤❤
