I bought the stealth+ 4 rescue just to fill a gap i needed in my bag. I had a noticeable gap between my 3w and 4i/6h... I run: Driver: 10.5⁰ 3w: r15 set to 16.5⁰ 4r: 22⁰ 6h: 28⁰ Irons: 4i, 6i, 8i, 9i Wedges: 48⁰, 52⁰, 56⁰, 60⁰ Chipper: 42⁰ Putter... The TMS+ 4r just fit beautifully into my setup...
Andy's numbers for the Stealth HD are just so similar to what I get from my 23 degree hybrid, in my case a G425 hybrid - not a surprise my club head speed is very similar. I would pick the Stealth HD, more controllable on to a green due to greater peak height and steeper descent angle outweighing the slightly lower spin
Mate, you are simply the best out there when it comes to promoting less Headline grabbing clubs. Which of course greatly benefits those of us who are the average golfers.
Love this type of content Andy. I really like your channel for perspectives as a golfer who is 50+. Anything you can produce that helps us gain an edge or two to compensate for aging is appreciated. Well done mate! 😎
I think some of this is also based on both your type of swing plus the type of courses you play. I can see the higher flying ball getting me into some trouble out here in Washington State, especially since most of the courses I play are close to the Puget Sound and the winds can get pretty strong. Both clubs look pretty good depending on what kind of course conditions you expect on a regular basis. I actually ordered the Stealth Plus 2H to replace my older Mavrik 3H simply because I wasn't getting any better results with it distance wise than I was with my 4 iron, which for some reason I seem to hit more consistently (and a bit further). If was back in the midwest where I grew up I'd probably would have gone with the regular Stealth Plus or the HD version. The winds don't tend to whip around back home like they do here in the PNW.
Could you tell What would be the best club for a very slow swingspeed (65-70 mph) regarding distance from the fairway. Wood or hybrid and What loft ? Thanks in advance 🤗
Thanks for quick answer 👍 I would problaly not go for fitting. I would allways chose a senior flex, but I am very much in doubt of what kind of Club I could hit the longest with. Normally you would say a 3 wood, but I do not think that is the case with my slow swing speed. 🤔
I would suggest that at your clubhead speed of under 70, replace 3 hybrid with 7 wood and 4 hybrid with a 9 wood and you’ll get similar distance but much better ball flight.
@@jimmyschmidt738 My driver goes 250 to 275 and I have driver, 7 wood, 9 wood. My 7 wood shaft is plus 3/4" and goes about 200 with a beautiful high draw. I can get a bit more distance with 5 wood and 3 wood but also much more disaster and much less consistency. I played about 30 rounds last year.
Im left handed and looking to bridge the gap for my ping i530 5 iron... In terms of forgiveness would you pick taylormade HD 3 hybrid or a Cleveland Hi wood at 18+ degrees I carry a m6 fairway wood at 15 degrees i believe
For what it's worth, far prefer the HD to the Plus on the basis of looks at address. The Plus with its silver colored front seems to be trying to make the player think he or she is looking down at a long iron, but no one is going to be fooled. The HD is more all one color, simpler and less distracting. The HD with its higher peak and steeper landing angle seems to me to be a better club for approaches to long par 4s and par 5s for a player who could hit a 4 or 5 iron the same distance, but with a shallower landing angle that will make the ball run off the back. It may also be easier to hit out of the rough. Cosmetically, I have never liked the square snub nose of utility clubs like the Plus.
A dilemma is easy launch vs playing in high wind. How about testing this on the launch monitor and maybe a bonus video on flighting down for Average golfers - I’m sure Lewis could help with that (driver, fw, hybrid). Cheers.
Great review! The HD looks versatile and more like a golf club to me. I like the average distance you were getting, especially the front to back dispersion, it's trustworthy!
excellent information Andy they look amazing the only thing I hate about golf is the looks u get when u use cheap clubs ie some ppl can't afford the top clubs it shudnt mater if u use cheap or dear I have had them looks of some golfers and it isn't nice but that's just some ppl it definitely won't stop me playing
I'd say go with the Stealth Plus honestly. 36 peak height is perfect and spin around 4k is just about right. But it honestly comes down to what you feel comfortable with. But there is no wrong answer here.
If youre getting 180 yds of carry with a metal hybrid you are no longer an average golfer. Arccos Caddie compiled data shows that there is a direct correlation between distance and indexes. Average drive distance in the USA per age range is 225 yds. Indexes correlate to distances directly.
Im scratch golfer and hated the plus version on the original stealth hybrid 17 degree.. it felt terrible and dull.. also had the 22 degree normal hybrid and it aas amazing in comparison
Your approach on these types of comparisons and your apparent genuine desire to provide useful guidance/commentary is greatly appreciated!
I appreciate this comment 🙏
I ordered the standard stealth 2 3H. I was impressed with how easy and how fast it got up into the air so easily. Love the look of it.

have the old Steath clubs from last year but due to weather and illness haven't played these enough to change yet. thanks for the video

Andy, what difference to ball flight when wearing winter boots 😅?

I would say the shaft you choose is probably most important thing, would you go to get custom fit?

Appears the HD model is 1/2" longer than the plus.

Is there any way we can see a Ping G400 v the Ping 430 driver?
I don’t have access to a G400 anymore
